Time to add some international flavor to your afternoon with the first stills, trailer, and one sheet from filmmaker Barry Berk's latest terror tale, Sleeper's Wake. Dive in with both feet, kids! This one is looking pretty damned good!
The film will make its premiere at the Durban International Film Festival in South Africa.
Synopsis
John Wraith regains consciousness in hospital, his mind awash with drugs and amnesia, a huge centipede of a scar spread across his forehead from a motorcar accident in which his wife and daughter died because he fell asleep at the wheel.
To heal and find solace, he goes to Nature’s Cove, a wild, unspoilt coastal settlement in South Africa, where most of the holiday homes are boarded up and eerily empty over the winter months. It is there that John comes across a 17-year-old girl, Jackie, weeping softly in a boat outside a chalet.

The Black Eyed Peas have officially unveiled their new theme song for upcoming action-comedy film Knight And Day, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
The song - a breezy Balearic number called Someday (Knight and Day Theme) - debuted when the group performed it at an after-party following their concert at London's 02 arena on May 27. It will be heard during the end titles of the upcoming movie.
The video of that O2 party, in which Tom Cruise appears on stage with the group, has been sent over to us and is embedded below.
Knight and Day is released in UK cinemas on August 6 and stars Tom Cruise as a covert agent sent on a mission he was never meant to complete, and Cameron Diaz as a woman caught between the agent and those he claims set him up.

Steve Rose digs out some of the most forgettable pop star film roles
Mariah Carey's last attempt to conquer the movies, airbrushed autobiopic Glitter, served only to briefly unite the world in derision. So now she's back in a more humble role, as a social worker in Precious, and earning praise for her down-to-earth performance.
Precious also finds an ordinary-guy role for crotch-rocker Lenny Kravitz, as a nurse. Is this the best today's singer-actors can hope for? Back in the golden age, it seemed you could put any old rock star on screen. Bowie, Jagger, Lennon, Dylan, even Art Garfunkel, but judging by the current batch, things aren't going quite so well …

Released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK last Monday, 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine has already broken records for disc sales in the USA.
Over the past week, I've been steadily working my way through the Blu-ray with its hours of bonus features.
Wolverine has been a somewhat controversial project. There were persistent rumours of production troubles; an unfinished version of the movie was leaked online a month before its cinema release; and when it did come out, it was clawed by critics and received mostly negative reviews.
Some have said the DNA of the 20th Century Fox franchise has mutated into a mess or even a monstrosity.
So what's it like? Is this a Blu-ray worth adding to your collection? Well, let's find out...

When Will.i.am, frontman of hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas, was cast in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, there was a lot of negative response on fan forums.
But it's far from the first time a rapper has made the switch from music to movies and I thought the 34-year-old (born William James Adams) performed brilliantly in his big-screen debut.
He played the teleporting mutant John Wraith, a character from the X-Men comic books who is sometimes known by the codename Kestrel.
Will.i.am has spoken of how he enjoyed the "unbelievable" experience on the X-Men prequel and said working with director Gavin Hood was "incredible".
Speaking of the opportunity to launch his film career in such a major movie, he told Leader Newspapers in a recent interview: "It's more than spectacular. It's unbelievable, and kind of crazy, if you ask me."

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Directed by: Gavin Hood Written by: David Benioff, Skip Woods Starring: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Will.i.am, Ryan Reynolds, Dominic Monaghan, Kevin Durand, Daniel Henney, Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins Back when it was first announced that Fox intended to make an X-Men prequel focusing on the origin story of Wolverine, it seemed like a promising, if not particularly surprising, idea. Wolverine is easily the most popular member of the X-Men among comic book fans, and out of all the characters, he seems to have the most compelling inner struggles and back story to draw from. With acclaimed art house director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi) on board, along with screenwriter David Benioff (25th Hour, The Kite Runner), the movie appeared to be shaping up as a more intimate, character-driven superhero drama. But then as more news started to come out about the movie, it went from being a...

Mutant cardsharp Gambit - played by Taylor Kitsch - is the mostly hotly anticipated new character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, according to a poll of film fans.
Gambi has the ability to charge objects - usually deploying a deck of playing cards and his trademark fighting staff - with an explosive kinetic energy. He also has exceptional agility.
Box office site MoveTickets.com reports that, in a poll with 4,300 votes so far, 58 per cent are most excited about seeing Gambit, 25 per cent are keen to see Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), 7 per cent picked Emma Frost (Tahyna Tozzi), 6 per cent opted for John Wraith (Will.i.am) and 4 per cent voted for Agent Zero (Daniel Henney).
The poll asked people which brand new character they were most looking forward to seeing, and so excluded Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who was previously introduced in the X-Men trilogy.
