John Waters was delighted that he’s “closer to the gutter than ever” as his name was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.
In his acceptance speech, Waters said that the Walk of Fame was the first landmark he saw when he got to Los Angeles.
“After driving across the country with David Locke, I got out of my vehicle in 1970 at Hollywood and Vine, darted across the street and got a jaywalking ticket,” he recalled. “The first one — and I never looked back.”
Waters’ star is located outside of the Larry Edmunds Bookshop on Hollywood Blvd. and N. Cherokee Ave. Waters said bookstore, which specializes in literature about film and showbiz history, is his favorite spot on the famous street.

When John Waters touched down in Hollywood decades ago, he immediately had a run-in with authorities. “I got out of my vehicle in 1970 at Hollywood and Vine and darted across the street and got a jaywalking ticket, the first one, and I never looked back,” recalled the filmmaker while standing at the podium Monday to receive a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
Waters, surrounded by throngs of fans and well-wishers, found himself not far from that famous intersection, but on the other side of a Hollywood career that has produced such films as Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Desperate Living, Hairspray, Cry-Baby, Serial Mom, Pecker, Cecil B. Demented and others. And he couldn’t be happier with the gritty Hollywood setting. “God, here I am, closer to the gutter than ever,” quipped the 77-year-old, who has long been referred to as a maestro of “trash” films or the “king of filth.

On a quiet street in late-1950′s suburban Baltimore – Baltimore! – an apple-cheeked upper-middle-class family moves in and two young men become neighbors by sheer coincidence. No one in their right mind could have predicted that these two boys would form a friendship that would last decades and unleash onto an unsuspecting public some of the most gloriously perverse collaborations in film history.
Then again, the world had never seen the likes of John Waters and Harris Glenn Milstead before.
The criminally entertaining new documentary I Am Divine yanks the cha-cha heels and wipes the liberally-applied makeup off of one of our true queer pop culture pioneers: Divine. Part drag queen, part vixen, part psychopath, and all woman (well, not quite), Divine subverted pretty much everything Hollywood had to say about women, sexuality, glamor, and common decency. Her face – often made up in garish, twisted masks and screaming to bring the walls down – is known everywhere.
Then again, the world had never seen the likes of John Waters and Harris Glenn Milstead before.

David Alanson In his first major film role, David Alanson had to provide the comic relief, run for his life from a hungry horde of vampires, seduce a bi curious straight man and be half of a bickering gay couple in the horror comedy Bite Marks. Not exactly an easy role even for an experienced veteran actor, because the role requires so much of its actor. However, David Alanson managed to make it all appear rather effortless when this role had great potential to come across as forced. He brought an overall likability to his performance when the character had the potential to be unappealing. He managed to not only put his own stamp on the role, but to hold his own weight against gay character actor Windham Beacham. Right off the bat, with just one major film to date, David Alanson is showing promise. The question is, will he live up to that promise?...

Each week Channing Tatum Unwrapped will post one or more of our favorite pictures of the uber beautiful Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
Although the fan art in today’s Pictures of the Week may look like images (because they really are that good), they’re actually drawings of Channing Tatum created by talented artist Arief Kurniawan.
Arief used images of Chan from his Greg Gorman photo shoot, the 2006 ‘Step Up’ premiere, ‘Fighting‘ promotional stills, and Chan’s very popular GQ photo shoot from their August 2009 issue as inspirations for his insanely accurate drawings.
Click on the image below to see Arief’s Chan-themed artwork on today’s post in the CTU Photo Gallery. Enjoy!!!
Thanks to Arief for allowing me to share your beautiful drawings! Fans can Click Here to see even more of Arief’s amazing work, and you can Click Here to check out a ton...

Who is Alex Pettyfer? All of the following: a 19-year-old British actor whose biggest credit is the British flop Stormbreaker, the ex-boyfriend of actress Emma Roberts, the lead in the upcoming "Mary-Kate Olsen is a witch" fantasy Beastly, the muse to photographer Greg Gorman (Nsfw!), and this week, the man cast in the coveted title role of the DJ Caruso-directed sci-fi epic I Am Number Four. And now you know! [Variety]...

Somebody at this site -- and who he is shall remain nameless, but he's often referred to as "Dqm" and spoken of in hushed tones -- said that up-and-coming actor alex Pettyfer was beastly looking. As usual, said person was wrong.
Pettyfer is set to star in the upcoming modernization of the "Beauty and the Beast" story called Beastly, based on the popular Young Adult novel. Before that, though, he's been the "muse" of gay photographer Greg Gorman, world famous for his photographs of Hollywood celebrities.
The following are images from Gorman's new photobook Just Between Us In Their Youth, a collection of his work. Pettyfer features prominently in that book.
As well he should.

Patrick Swayze: 1952-2009
By
Alex Simon
All films buffs have guilty pleasures. You know, those movies that high-minded cineastes love to turn their noses up at, especially critics for The New York Times, people with MFAs in some sort of film-related field, or just plain snobs who refuse to acknowledge anything released on celluloid that doesn’t have English subtitles and at least one reference to death, either as a character or a metaphor (and oftentimes both). Patrick Swayze was the undisputed King of the Guilty Pleasure. From his screen debut in Skatetown, USA in 1979, to his final appearance on television’s "The Beast" as a take-no-prisoners cop, Swayze was an unapologetic good ol’ boy who happened to be a classically-trained dancer, student of martial arts and Eastern philosophy, and possessor of an Iq that was nothing to sneeze at. In fact, he closely resembled Dalton, his character in...

Josh Duhamel claims even his friends were skeptical when he told them he was going to be on the cover of Men's Health. "You're going to be on the cover of Men's Health?," he recalls them saying. "You?" In fact, Duhamel, 36, now appearing in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, tells the fitness magazine that he wants to be remembered for his talent, not just his rugged good looks. And he laughs off those widely-seen nude photos taken of him by photographer Greg Gorman in 2000. "To me, it's funny at this point. Whatever. It's done," he says. "It was very cold in the studio,...

A detail of John Waters's Rear Projection, 2009. Chromogenic color print. Walking into the white abyss of the Gagosian art gallery Saturday, April 11th, for the opening of an exhibit by eccentric Balitmore film director John Waters, I was nearly mauled by a throng of his flamboyant admirers, dressed like extras from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Among the more conventionally attired were Randal Kleiser, Ricki Lake, Johnny Knoxville, Traci Lords, Jeremy Renner, Vincent and Shelly Fremont, Brett Reichman, Joe Dallesandro, Ed and Dan Ruscha, Kat Kramer, Mike Kelly, Patrick Painter and Greg Gorman. Waters’s latest collection, consisting of playfully displayed images and sculptures, is titled “Rear Projection,” a typically bawdy Watersian pun on the outdated filmmaking process wherein a foreground action is superimposed on a pre-filmed scene. (Think back to those old movies where the road is winding but charactes aren’t turning the wheel.) Like his films—which include Pink Flamingos,...

RuPaul was so inspired by the theme of his Logo series, "RuPaul's Drag Race," that he just released Champion, his fifth album, which is now available for download on iTunes. "It is about being a champion, overcoming obstacles, having courage and winning," RuPaul, who wrote the songs, tells Et. "Even if you don't win first place, you can win just by going for it." "RuPaul's Drag Race" has four more episodes until it picks the next performer to fill RuPaul's high heels, and its host believes the winner will be America's next drag superstar. "Listen, the whole world loves drag, whether they admit it or not," he says. "We live in this culture where we have this hypocritical thing. On one hand, people are ashamed of drag and they think it is misogynistic; on the other hand, we all love it because it's sparkly, it's shiny and it's gorgeous.

As I previously posted, the 'Dear John' crew was seen shooting at the Lafarge cement and sand plants with tons of military trucks in Harleyville, South Carolina on Monday, December 15, 2008.
Today's Fab Fan Encounter is a great, new photo from that set that was submitted by Stephen C. of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, who was an extra on Channing Tatum's highly-anticipated romantic drama 'Dear John' last month.
Here's what Stephen had to say about this lucky fan encounter with Chan on the set of 'Dear John'...
"Hey, I met Channing on set and he was the greatest to work with. Real down to earth and a consummate professional. The picture was taken December 15th 2008 on location of the 'Dear John' movie in Harleyville, Sc outside Charleston, Sc one of the last days of shooting."

After watching the third episode of the HBO series True Blood, I've come to the conclusion that Ryan Kwanten's body deserves special consideration at next year's Emmy awards, and that Alan Ball has presented us with one of the most vampire-batcrap insane hours ever seen on TV.
We start off where we left last week, with Sookie paying a visit to her bloodsucking paramour,??Bill, only to be confronted at his door by the Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living, And Became Effed Up Vampires.
There are three of them, sort of a Mod Squad: Vampire Edition (one white, one black ...one bald). There's Diane, who wears a gold lame dress and a wig stolen from Chaka Khan circa Through The Fire, Malcolm, whose head keeps distracting me (he looks like he overdosed on Ronco's Spray-On Hair??... seriously, I kept expecting Ron Popeil to come on screen to give...
