Bholaa
There is nothing bhola (innocent) about Bholaa. A bloodthirsty shrieking yarn of a film . A mayhem-filled masala dossier of crime and adventure that Lokesh Kanagraj made into a Tamil feast of fury Kaithi, now ours to appreciate in an adapted form ostensibly palatable to Ajay Devgn’s fans in the cow belt. Moo power to the adaptive gang.
Apart from one major radical change from the original, Bholaa is as faithful to the original as any banquet of bloodshed can be. For those who came in late the eponymous Bholaa, played by the producer-director Mr. Devgn (is that how he spells his name these days?) is out from jail after ten years (why ten? Why not twelve?) to meet his infinitely cute daughter Jyoti(Hirva Trivedi).
The interludes between the father and daughter on the phone are the only soft spots in an otherwise tough and obdurate action film...

Why not twelve?) to meet his infinitely cute daughter Jyoti(Hirva Trivedi).
The interludes between the father and daughter on the phone are the only soft spots in an otherwise tough and obdurate action film...

Bholaa is an action thriller produced and directed by Ajay Devgn, an adaptation of the 2019 Tamil film ‘Kaithi’. The film is especially made for the audience who crave for hard core actioners. It is also apparent that the writers were more focused on creating action sequences though it had a great plot at hand too! I take this liberty to state that the hero of the film is the action designers for their imaginative choreography.

Both the actors have collaborated on numerous occasions as co-actors or in the capacity of actor-director.
Talking about directing Tabu, Ajay said: “She is very spontaneous; that’s what I like about her. Apart from that, she takes to the tone so perfectly that you don’t need to take it any further as a director. There is an emotional scene between Bholaa and Tabu’s character Diana where I think she’s done a fabulous job.”
The director-actor also spoke about the equipment used in ‘Bholaa’. He told IMDb during the segment ‘On The Scene’: “We’ve created different kinds of cameras in-house to align with the budgets of an Indian film. We designed robotic cameras...

Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming directorial ‘Bholaa’, will attend the Odi match between India and Australia at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium on Friday.
With roughly two weeks to the film’s release, Ajay is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film and his attendance at the game is a testimony to that. Nothing moves India like its cricket and its cinema and when the two meet, the excitement goes beyond berserk.
This is the first Odi between the two nations that are known to be champions at the game. While India has earned the reputation of a team with an explosive line-up of batsmen, Australia commands equal proficiency in all its departments.

Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn, who finally shared the trailer of his upcoming film ‘Bholaa’, recalled doing an action stunt with megastar Amitabh Bachchan for the 1998 film ‘Major Saab’. On Monday, Amitabh revealed that he had an accident on the sets of ‘Project K’ and is facing difficulty in moving and breathing.
As Ajay’s latest offering ‘Bholaa’ is high on action, he was asked about the safety on set.
“Our job is difficult and easy also. Mr Bachchan, from where he started and later when he started at that point of time when he used to do action there were no mattresses, no safety measures, cables, he has done shots that one can’t even imagine.”
He added: “I remember him getting injured while shooting ‘Major Saab’ also, when he suggested to jump from 30 feet and I told him let’s not do the shot it’s very difficult. We both were suppose to jump.

“Jab jab aapko lagta hai ki aap Bihar ko samajh gaye hain, Bihar aapko jhatka deta hai,” says Pramod Pathak’s character of Satyendranath Mishra in Season 2 of the streaming political drama show ‘Maharani’.
The dialogue doubles as the logline for the new season as well.
Season 1 saw Bheema Bharti being jailed following a scam; Season 2 takes the narrative forward and presents a story that is laced with political twists and turns and spreads out like a game of chess where one wrong move could change the equation completely throwing every bet off the table.
Season 2 brings Bheema out of jail as he tries to pull away the MLAs under his wife Rani Bharti’s command to form a new political party. But he is stunned by how fast his wife has learnt the ropes of politics. The season presents the husband and wife at the opposite spectrum of morals and values.

How fitting, in a year that has seen a restored version of Sergio Leone’s embattled, multigenerational gangster epic Once Upon a Time in America, that a new, Leone-influenced masterpiece from India arrives on North American shores. Gangs of Wasseypur, a five-hour, two-part, wildly blood-drenched saga is, without question, one of the must-sees at the Toronto International Film Festival. Director Anurag Kashyap’s work is also – whether taken together, or separately – among 2012’s best.
The first installment opens on a television screen, and a subtitle telling us the soundtrack is “[Popular Indian soap theme music].” The serene scene erupts with gunfire for a remarkably appropriate start; Gangs is, in a sense, one long soap opera, with the occasional glossiness quickly ripped apart by bullets. The gunfight is kinetic and explosive, and completely chaotic; we have no sense of who is who, who is “good” or “bad,” or why any of this is occurring. Confused? Don...

Part 1 of director Anurag Kashyap’s sprawling family saga of power and revenge did two very important things: it introduced the character of Faizal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), and it left me with a definite appetite to see Part 2. I had the chance to do just that a screening held in advance of the presentation of both parts at Tiff 2012.
Part 2 begins where Part 1 left off, with the death of Sardar Khan (Manoj Bajpai). Part 2 sees his eldest son, Danish (Vineet Kumar), begin to take over the reins, and exact punishment for his father’s assassination, but he soon is taken down by Sultan Qureshi (Pankaj Tripathi). Thus it falls to the perpetually stoned Faizal to step up and exact revenge – a role that no one, not even his mother Nagma (“Look at your eyes, dead with drugs,” she tells him), feels he is fit for.
And it’s true – the days pass,...

City of Gold
The Mumbai of today boasts of several glitzy malls, multiplexes, bowling alleys and lounge bars with addresses that refer to these being earlier locations of cloth mills (for example, PVR Phoniex Mills, the address of one of the upscale multiplexes). Those who know the history of these mills would know how the great strike of the early 1980s by mill workers, protesting gradual closure of the ‘loss-making’ mills by their owners, had driven the death knell for not only these industrial structures but also the thousands who earned their livelihoods by working in them. Now, almost three decades later, that story of mill workers is almost forgotten, except for maybe those who are involved with a few court cases here and there still lingering on. In a economically-upward India where the cities are earning their brownie points through humongous, modern day structures that comprise residential properties, corporate offices and businesses mentioned above,...

An unfortunate accident took place on the sets of Sphere Origin’s Shaurya and Suhani where Saurabh Pandey aka Shaurya proved that he is not only a hero on-screen but the same goes when it comes to his off-screen personality. The action sequence demanded Simha aka Vineet Kumar to hit an arrow towards Saurabh but since the arrow was a real one, he got a deep cut on his fingers due to sharp edges of the arrow. “I had to aim the arrow at Shaurya but I wasn’t aware that the arrow is an original one. I casually held it and hence got a deep cut in my fingers and it started bleeding non-stop,” speaks.
