The Addams Family series Wednesday has turned out to be a massive hit for the Netflix streaming service – in fact, in less than a month of release, it has already become Netflix’s second-most popular English-language series of all time. So there seems to be almost no question that we’re going to be getting Wednesday season 2… Netflix just hasn’t officially ordered it yet. And while speaking to Variety about the show’s success, Netflix executive Peter Friedlander (the service’s head of U.S. and Canada scripted series) still couldn’t confirm if or when that new season order is going to be made.
Friedlander told Variety, “I have nothing to confirm at this time. I am optimistic about Wednesday. We’ll leave it at that. Weirdly, because it feels different, but we’re just two weeks into the launch of Wednesday. So we’re still really at...

The Addams Family series Wednesday (read our review Here) is massive, record-breaking hit for the Netflix streaming service that has had people talking about it ever since it premiered almost four weeks ago. To make sure people keep talking about the show, Netflix has now released a bloopers video that shows some of the laughs the cast had behind the scenes. You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
Half of Wednesday‘s eight episode season was directed by Tim Burton, with Gandja Monteiro and James Marshall splitting directing duties on the other four episodes. Created by showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday is described as
a comedic, supernaturally-infused coming-of-age series that follows the teenage girl’s years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the town, and solve a...

Harrison Ford is the very definition of a living legend. The man has brought life to countless beloved characters including Indiana Jones, Rick Deckard, Dr. Richard Kimble, Jack Ryan, President James Marshall, and, of course, the one, the only, Han Solo! If you've seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and I'm pretty sure you have, then you know his time as the beloved space pirate is over. Now, let's all go have a good cry again.
But, there's a new Han Solo in town. In the still Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story, Alden Ehrenreich will bring the smuggler with a heart of gold back to life, in a film directed by Phil Lord and Chrisopher Miller, best known for directing The Lego Movie and both 21 Jump Street films. The film is currently in production with a release date of May 25, 2018, and Harrison Ford already has some thoughts. When...

Judging from the above gallery, Supergirl won’t be resting on its laurels anytime soon and will continue to make its mark on a prime time lineup that’s already crowded by superheroes. Sure, it all starts with the script, but these new images really speak to the effort put forth by those involved in costuming, makeup, and production design.
An element included in this particular episode that has people talking is that of the alien fight club run by Roulette, who has an affinity for red dresses that rivals even Resident Evil’s Ada Wong. At face value, it seems that she has less in common with her Smallville counterpart and shares more similarities with the Roulette we saw on Justice League Unlimited. No matter how it turns out, kudos go to the producers for including such a diverse array of DC characters.

Every week, the CriticWire Survey asks a select handful of film and TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday morning. (The answer to the second, “What is the best film in theaters right now?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: As you may be aware, America is fixing to elect a new President later this year. If you could cast your vote this November for any movie President (real or fictional), who would it be and why?
Christopher Campbell (@thefilmcynic), Nonfics/Film School Rejects
If I had to choose fictional, I’d go with Jackson Evans in “The Contender.” He comes off as so perfect that he’s clearly just a product of the movies. But I can choose someone real, so I go with the John F. Kennedy of “Primary” and “Crisis: Behind a Presidential Commitment” (and the Drew...

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.
The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.
in the meantime in more official news, Showtime, Lynch and Mark Frost has released the official cast list for the new series with a whopping 217 names across the various episodes - a list that includes some real surprise big name inclusions such as Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Vedder, Ashley Judd, Ernie Hudson, Jim Belushi, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern,...

The 2016 presidential race may have some real-life characters of its own, but some of our favorite politicians have been created by actors. Before you gear up to elect the 45th president of the United States (and celebrate Presidents Day on Feb. 15), remember these 14 great— and not-so-great—film and TV presidents. President Josiah Edward Bartlet (Martin Sheen, “The West Wing”)Leave it to Aaron Sorkin to create one of television’s greatest presidents. A main focus of long-running series “The West Wing,” Josiah “Jed” Bartlet was portrayed by Sheen with a stately blend of honesty, humor, intelligence, and strength. This Democratic president served two terms (with a brief break due to the kidnapping of a relative), and faced many political, personal, and physical battles with the help of his staff. President James Marshall (Harrison Ford, “Air Force One”)Shortly after working with Russian Special Forces to capture and detain a high-powered terrorist,...

Legendary actor Harrison Ford Turns 72 today, and in his impressive career he has been responsible for developing two of the most iconic movie characters in American pop culture.
To celebrate the man who created so many characters we all desperate wished we could be growing up – and honestly still kind of wish we could be – we take a celebratory look at Harrison's seven greatest roles.
#7. Dr. Richard Kimble – The Fugitive
Ford plays a man wrongly convicted of his wife's murder who – due to random circumstance – escapes from custody in a frantic effort to find the real killer and clear his name. All the while, he's hunted down by Us Marshall Tommy Lee Jones, which would be terrifying for anyone.
Best Quote: "When I came home, there was a man in my house. I fought with this man. He had a mechanical arm. You find this man. You find this man."
#6. Bob Falfa – American Graffiti...

What qualities should the ideal President have? Personality is a must; they must be able to galvanise a crowd and keep the attention of the public. They must be able to keep calm and make a decision in a heated situation. It is crucial that they are not overly trigger happy, but they must also know when it is right to make strike against an enemy. Given this criteria, which fictional Presidents would make the greatest President in reality?
We are drawn to aggressive and militaristic leaders in films, but in reality we would not want a President who is warmongering and aggressive; perhaps this is why the most likable fictional presidents are Democrats (or at least support their ideals, such as gun control or opposition to warfare). The Presidents included in this list are the ones who we would like to see in the White House; the...

From James Cameron to Harrison Ford, they're getting everyone on Reddit. Over the weekend the other big Reddit Ama (aka Ask Me Anything) participant was legendary actor Harrison Ford, best known as Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Rick Deckard, Jack Ryan, President James Marshall, Colonel Graff. He explains that he was recently a "correspondent for Years of Living Dangerously, a new Showtime docuseries about climate change," and answered a number of fan questions for an hour. He covers topics on Blade Runner, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, even Anchorman, Expendables, and plenty more. Recap his highlights below. Though he has been a bit odd at in-person appearances recently, Harrison Ford's responses here seem clear and concise. These are some of his best answers. To start: "Who did you prefer portraying, Han or Indiana?" I think Indiana Jones was a lot of fun to do because of the places we went to...

Movie mashups provide some of the web's best entertainment in bite-sized portions. We've seen everything from epic supercuts (and part two, you're welcome) to downright terrifying face-mashes that put a creative spin on our favorite bits of pop culture.
In today's edition of truly awesome mashups, we present: "Lord of the Rings (Power Rangers Style!)", in which one YouTuber had the brilliant idea of taking footage from "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" and setting it to the theme of the Fox Kids classic, "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers". What results is a hilarious compilation that gives us a taste of what could've been... had Peter Jackson's trilogy been developed into a children's television show. A mighty morphin' one, at that.
Take a hint from YouTube user Jim Marshall, whose comment is currently at the top of the pack: "Why does this not have more views?...

Action, engaging plot developments, Doug Jones... What more could you want from a summer sci-fi series? Here's Ron's Falling Skies review...

3.2 Collateral Damage
One of the show's earliest threads is the spectre of mistrust that exists between the rank-and-file of humanity and their alien benefactors the Volm. The expression too good to be true comes to mind. It reminds me a bit of the rebel skitter storyline from the last season, except it seems to be a little bit better in its execution. After all, the Volm are highly armed and working on a secret project that until now only Tom knew about. The very same Tom Mason who tries to get his soldiers not to kill harnessed kids who are actively trying to kill them. Seven months have passed since season two, and Charleston has turned into a real community. Tom is “president,” though he still leads missions and insists no one call him Mr. President. Hal is paralyzed from the waist down, presumably from Karen’s kiss at the end of last season. He still goes on missions, acting as a human turret on a Hummer, and undergoes physical therapy during the day. He and Maggie are living together like an old married couple. Ben, it seems, has himself a girlfriend, Dani, another rescued teen. He and Max have both become integral parts of the army. The Rolling Stones have embarked on their "50 and Counting" tour, celebrating half a century of extraordinary staying power with a raucous Oakland show Sunday at Oracle Arena and a San Jose stop to come Wednesday at Hp Pavilion.
Mick Jagger still works the stage, prancing and preening, while the rest of us wonder what it'd be like to have 2 percent body fat. He turns 70 this summer.
And then there's Keith Richards. How does one fully explain Jagger's "Glimmer Twin?" One defies age, the other defies death.
Richards, 69, has been delivered to death's door, by his own estimation, "a dozen or so times." One of his closest calls came at Sacramento's Memorial Auditorium on Dec. 3, 1965, when Richards was nearly electrocuted when playing a then-new release titled "The Last Time."

Today is the birthday of electric guitar hero, James Marshall Hendrix. The "Purple Haze" creator would turn 70 years old if were still alive today, and this fact is blowing our minds.
On the anniversary of his birth, Jimi Hendrix's hometown of Seattle is celebrating the legendary musician in an exhibit at Emp Museum titled, "Hear My Train A Comin': Hendrix Hits London." Devoted entirely to the guitarist's nine month stint in the UK capital, the collection of lyrics, instruments, photographs and fashion covers Hendrix's 1960s British debut. The period, packed with three unforgettable singles and a magnificently successful album, amounted to the perfect prelude to Hendrix's fiery performance at the '67 Monterey Pop Festival.
The exhibit is a wild survey of the psychedelic icon's trip across the pond and subsequent rise to international fame, featuring everything from his wide-brimmed purple-tinged hats to the remains of his battered guitars. Handwritten...

The presidential election is almost upon us. After all the debates and commercials, it is finally time for America to make its decision. We, of course, live in a society with a two party system, where one's vote will likely be either for Barack Obama or Mitt Romney. But where's the fun in that? Instead of limiting it to these two candidates, here are three movie presidents that would receive my vote on November 6th.
President Thomas J. Whitmore - Bill Pullman ("Independence Day")
Pros:
-President Whitmore (Pullman) was able to get America and the rest of the world through a seemingly impossible-to-overcome alien invasion.
-Already a war-hero, Whitmore risked his life to lead the undermanned and under qualified group of pilots to a victory over the ruthless aliens
-His hair is extremely presidential (an underrated quality)
-Whitmore's speech towards the end of the film puts any...

This Wednesday, politicos, pundits and The People will be glued to their TVs for the first round of the Presidential Debates. While the face-off between President Obama and Mitt Romney is sure to be riveting, some of the most inspiring commander-in-chief speeches have taken place on the silver screen. (Usually in the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, to be fair.) Who could forget President Whitmore's famous "We will not go quietly into the light!" line in "Independence Day" or President James Marshall ad-libbing in "Air Force One"? So, to get you in the mood for this year's debates, we've collected the best Presidential movies speeches, ever. Keep an eye out all this month for more presidential movie-related pieces tied to the 2012 election. Videos:...

"Get off my plane!" Just reading that sentence, you can hear Harrison Ford barking the famous catchphrase at Gary Oldman during a climactic sequence in "Air Force One." It's a familiar line, since we've all seen the classic 1997 thriller about a president (Ford) thwarting the Russian terrorist (Oldman) who's hijacked the flying White House. Still, there's probably plenty you don't know about the movie (which opened 15 years ago, on July 25, 1997), including how accurate it is (and isn't), how the filmmakers got access to the real Air Force One, the battle over the film's instrumental score, and the financial windfall that made one cast member the richest star by far (it's not who you think). Read on for the plane (get it?) truth behind the movie. 1. "Air Force One" was actually director Wolfgang Petersen's second movie in four years about a president whose life is threatened; it followed the German-born...

Happy birthday, Harrison Ford! Whether he’s Han Solo, Indiana Jones, John Book, Dr. Richard Kimble or President James Marshall, Ford has remained one of the big screen's most beloved actors, appearing in over 60 films since the 1960s. After his role in Cowboys & Aliens in 2011 and rumors of an Indiana Jones 5 (fingers crossed!), there don't seem to be any signs of the actor -- 70 years old today -- slowing down. Take a look below at some of Ford’s most memorable -- and often times quotable -- film moments. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980): Ford was Star

I first heard about this project years ago – on a now-defunct and long-forgotten FX show called Sound F/X – which featured Orlando Jones, of all people. Lawrence Fishburne was once set to play Jimi Hendrix, but it never happened. A 2010 attempt to film the rock star’s life – to be directed by Paul Greengrass and backed by Legendary Pictures – was also thwarted when the famously protective Hendrix family denied any access to the man’s iconic music.
Now after some earlir rumors, Deadline reports that one half of OutKast (the fun half, some might say), Andre 3000 (Aka Andre Benjamin) is confirmed to play Jimi Hendrix in a biopic called All Is By My Side, to be directed by Three Kings screenwriter John Ridley, based on his original script. The kicker: it will take a sort of prequel approach, depicting the singer-guitarist in his years before he became the psychedelic guitar god we know and love.

Google is being sued for copyright infringement in connection with its Google Music service launched late last year. But this isn't a run-of-the-mill case. It involves photographs of John Coltrane and Jimi Hendrix, the involvement of artist Thierry "Mr. Brainwash" Guetta and a backdrop used to announce Google's new music service. The lawsuit comes from the estate of Jim Marshall, a photographer who shot influential images from the dawn of rock music. Since dying at the age of 74 in 2010, his heirs have brought a handful of lawsuits against John Varatos, Sony Music and now Google

The man who invented the famous "Marshall stack" of amplifiers for rockers all over the world has died. The inventor, Jim Marshall, died Thursday at 88 in an English hospice after suffering from cancer and several severe strokes, his son Terry Marshall told the Associated Press. The publicists for Slash sent Monsters and Critics his statement: "I consider myself very fortunate to have known the late Jim Marshall. He was such a fantastic individual. Not only did he create the loudest, most effective, brilliant-sounding Rock & Roll amplifier ever designed, but he was a caring, hardworking family man who remained true to his integrity to the very end. His work ethic was unequaled and his passion unrivaled. He...

London, Apr 6: Jim Marshall, who created the iconic amplifiers that made rock n roll noisier, died at the age of 88.
Dubbed by the world's top rockers as "Father of Loud", his invention was used by some of the globe's greatest guitarists, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Kurt Cobain and Noel Gallagher.
The amps were also favoured by 'The Beatles', 'Led Zeppelin' and 'Blur'.
Ex-drummer Marshall, who ran a music shop in Hanwell, West London, began building amps in the early 1960s.
And he soon became a pivotal figure in the rock 'n' roll boom.

The Associated Press has reported the death of Jim Marshall, long lauded as one of the behind-the-scenes giants of rock ’n’ roll (alongside Leo Fender, Les Paul, and Seth Lover) for his creation of the Marshall amplifier—the loud, raunchy amp that continues to give generations of bands their power. Marshall suffered from serious health problems in his later years, though it didn’t slow his pursuit of good times or prevent him from attending concerts by the bands who wielded his mighty invention. In the end, however, he was felled by cancer and a series of strokes, and died ...

London (AP) — Ears still ringing from the 1960s? Jim Marshall might be to blame. Marshall was the man behind "The" amplifier, the weapon of choice for guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend of The Who, and Eric Clapton — "The Marshall." The sixties superstars' ear-shattering sounds, blasting first in small clubs and music halls and later in stadiums and arenas, relied on the basic Marshall amp for their frenzied, thunderous roar. That was no accident. Marshall, who died Thursday at the age of 88, was not looking for precision when he and his sound engineers came up with the early...

Shakespeare once wrote, "He that dies pays all debts." Let us add that those who perish collect upon them too. On March 24, 2010, the New York boutique store of men's fashion designer John Varvatos was scheduled to host a conversation with Jim Marshall, a legendary photographer whose work included some iconic moments from rock music history, such as The Beatles back stage at their last-ever tour date in 1966, Jimi Hendrix setting his guitar on fire at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival and Johnny Cash giving the middle finger at San Quentin prison. Marshall never made it that night, passing away at the age of

Politicians. They're the steadfast leaders who help humanity survive an alien invasion, they're the targets who need to be saved from danger by action heroes, they're the people we forget have the same emotional struggles we all do or they're the scheming villains who don't know how to use their power for good. Sometimes, they're also ridiculously good-looking. Here are some of our favorite politicians in pop culture:
Mike Morris, The Ides of March
George Clooney has been involved in more than a few politically-themed films but this weekend we get to see him play someone running for office. In The Ides of March, Clooney stars as an idealistic governor who learns about how dirty politics can get when he decides to run for President, a story inspired by Howard Dean's candidacy. Too bad the corrupt party leadership isn't composed of people who can be charmed with handsome looks and a disarming grin.

When Smallville announced it was in its final stretch, a new inevitability arose: when would fans get their 'Complete Series' DVD and Blu-ray sets? For now, the answer is still a vague "Fall 2011" (though it's going to be the same day they release the 10th season), but until then fans can begin pondering the question that every faithful fan of every TV show has to ask themselves. What to do when that 'Complete Series' set of your favorite show hits the shelves. For Smallville fans, I'm guessing this will either be a wash or a case of double-dipping (and selling off single season sets on craigslist or eBay), because part of the effort in keeping their beloved show soaring over Metropolis was buying up the DVD sets with gusto.
So what's the double-dip incentive? Some brand spanking new extra features. Hit the jump for details and a look at the packaging.
