Did Anna Wintour add more tables to this year’s Met Gala? Because the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art felt especially crowded on Monday evening, May 6, teeming with Hollywood A-listers wearing a plethora of artful looks. And while not everyone leaned into the evening’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” for the most part the stars acquitted themselves well in looks that ranged from quiet elegance to over the top and outrageous.
Even with the nature-centric theme, the night surprisingly was highlighted by some stars in neutrals. Nicole Kidman offered a great backstory for her black and white Balenciaga gown, while Cardi B served up the night’s best drama in a Windowsen black gown that almost spanned the width of the museum steps. Flesh-toned gowns likewise were abundant, including Pamela Anderson in Oscar de la Renta and Lizzo in a custom floral-inspired corset gown by Paris-based designer Victor Weinsanto.

Nicole Kidman certainly turned back the clock in her Balenciaga look at the Met Gala.
Designed by creative director Demna Gvasalia, the Oscar-winning star stepped out in a 1950s-inspired white double silk bustier and flared skirt over frayed layers of black silk organza to mimic feathers. The original gown was inspired by the ruffled dresses worn by flamenco dancers, a nod to Balenciaga’s Spanish heritage.
“It was based on a dress in 1951 by Balenciaga at that time by Cristóbal,” Kidman told La La Anthony on the red carpet. “It was something that I saw in [a Richard] Avedon photo [of Dorian Leigh from Harper’s Bazaar]. I asked Demna if he was willing to reinterpret it. So he reinterpreted it in the vein of the sleeping beauties and the gowns, bringing them back to life. So I consider this to be a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ brought back to life. It’s an honor...

In "Game of Thrones", Clarke played 'Daenerys', who turned from a protector into a ruthless 'Dracarys' killer.
Clarke said when she first read the script for the final "Game of Thrones" episode, where her character is killed off, she said, "What, what, what, What!?... Because it comes out of fucking nowhere. I'm flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming.
"There's so much she's taken on in her duty in life to rectify, so much she's seen and witnessed and been through and lost and suffered and hurt. Suddenly these people are turning around and saying, 'We don't accept you'.
"But she's too far down the line. She's killed so many people already. I can't turn this ship around.

“One night, Barbara invited Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick,” remembers Pamela Gross, the former CNN producer and close friend of the late Barbara Walters. “She had a beautiful piano in her living room, and after dinner, Barbara and Sarah and Matthew gathered around the piano and started singing old tunes, and the rest of us were just pinching ourselves. It was such a special night, but that’s the way Barbara lived.”

A royal commentator claims Meghan Markle will launch a media “onslaught” throughout May. The Duchess of Sussex, who will not attend King Charles’ coronation, will reportedly battle against her father-in-law for headlines during several key public events this month.

On Apr. 12, 2023, an official Buckingham Palace statement confirmed Prince Harry’s attendance at his father, King Charles’ coronation. It also explained Meghan Markle’s absence from the event.
Royal reported Omid Scobie tweeted, “Breaking: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

I can already imagine the meeting that will take place around May or June of this year with a cast featuring senior executive members of the Motion Picture Academy and ABC. Following a dull PowerPoint presentation on Academy reputation perception, a network exec stands up and spins how the dismal ratings for the 2023 Oscars — the third lowest since Nielsen started tracking — were actually up two million viewers from the previous year (the year of “the slap”) to a total 18.8 million viewers. They brag about the 13% uptick before launching into how (and I’m guessing here), somewhere in Idaho, six 17-year-olds watched the show for an average of two minutes, which resulted in the audience being 0.25% younger. Champagne is served.
It all reminds me of my late friend, the iconic producer David Brown, who said to me, “My boy, Hollywood is the only place in the world where you can die of encouragement.

Jewelry fans surely were satisfied by the abundance of statement necklaces, gemstone earrings, cocktail rings and brooches worn by the stars at the 2023 Oscars. Hollywood doesn’t always embrace jewels for red-carpet dressing so thoroughly, but on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, sparkle indeed was among the night’s strongest sartorial themes.
Without question, the best indicator of high-end jewels’ dominance on Sunday’s champagne carpet was the healthy showcase of statement necklaces, which in the past often have been shunted aside in favor of a bare neckline and a pair of chandelier earrings. But Sofia Carson’s early arrival, wearing a stunning emerald and diamond necklace by Chopard, proved to be the first of many big moments throughout the evening.
Carson’s emeralds also were chief among the night’s trends, with Jenny Slate, Margot Robbie, Malala Yousafzai and Fan Bingbing also choosing the fiery...

As the first televised awards show of 2023, expectations were high for Tuesday night’s Golden Globes — not only for who would take home the trophies and how the broadcast might fare after last year’s absence, but also how style might play a role on the red carpet, especially as it was predicted that rain might dampen the festivities at the Beverly Hilton. The verdict? The skies stayed clear, and Globes fashion is back with a splash.

In the '90s, Whoopi Goldberg earned her way into the hearts of millennials with her performances in movies such as the "Sister Act" films, "The Lion King," and "The Little Rascals." The star-studded 1997 musical fantasy TV film "Cinderella" was another go-to movie for pizza parties during my elementary school days. The fairy tale remake stars Brandy Norwood as the titular character who, with the help of her Fairy Godmother (Whitney Houston), wins the love of Prince Christopher (Paolo Mantalban). Goldberg plays Queen Constantina, the prince's controlling mother who wants to find him a suitable mate.
"Cinderella" is an all-around funny movie. Cinderella's stepmother (Bernadette Peters), her stepsisters, Calliope (Veanne Cox) and Minerva (Natalie Desselle Reid), and the royal family's servant, Lionel (Jason Alexander), all provide some comic relief. But what really made my classmates and me choke on our Pepsi was Goldberg's performance as the queen. Her patented squeals...

Appearing as part of ABC’s special edition of 20/20 in Cinderella: The Reunion, which aired Tuesday night, the actress, comedian and View co-host opened up about how she delivered one of the film’s funniest (and most regal) performances.
During a segment discussing Goldberg’s casting, she expressed that she based the character on herself, and was even behind her signature vocal characterization of answering with exasperated, shocked or faux hurt reactions.
“I wanted her to be me in a dress. A little silly, a little fun. And I gave her a distinction,” Goldberg said. “She doesn’t finish sentences, she makes sounds.”

It could be the nickname. Bennifer was among the earliest iterations of the now-widely used celeb couple portmanteau. Or maybe it's the proposal, Ben Affleck offering up that iconic 6.1-carat pink Harry Winston diamond at his mom's house in Boston, kneeling in a quilt of rose petals while Jennifer Lopez's track "Glad" played. Or perhaps it's just the hazy memories from their 2002 "Jenny From the Block" video that had us all deep into our nostalgia feels. But when those first rumblings of Bennifer 2.0 began—he was spotted with her at her house—the Internet went wild. (Ironically, the...

The 63rd Academy Awards took place on March 25, 1991. For the first time in 60 years, a western took home the big prize, a first-time director beat out a veteran, the acting awards were split among four different films and an 80s pop idol caused a sensation. For the second consecutive year, Billy Crystal hosted the event, opening the night by riding in on a horse, which was most likely a plug for his upcoming film “City Slickers,” but also seemed to foreshadow the theme for the evening.
“Dances with Wolves” became the first western since “Cimarron” 60 years earlier to win Best Picture. Jennifer Lopez's latest look has us on the floor. The triple threat is known to wow on the red carpet and she did just that on Sunday night as she glimmered in gold at the annual Governors Awards in Hollywood. As the stars took the red carpet dressed to the nines, the Hustlers actress stood out in a golden strapless column gown by Reem Acra, accented with a bow at the back. The megawatt star accessorized with jewels by Harry Winston and further evoked modern '60s vibes with her hair in an intricate braided updo. Once again, when it comes to fashion, the star proved she's golden. But, Lopez wasn't the only famous face to grace the red carpet with a winning look. Famous...

Kristen Bell is as fabulous as ever at the 2019 Golden Globes. A statement-making outfit is necessary as the Good Place star is celebrating a Golden Globes Best Actress nomination. Considering that star has been consistent with awing red carpet looks, she's staying true to her ultra-feminine aesthetic in a pale pink Zuhair Murad gown. The dress features a plunging neckline that ends in a matching waist belt. To finish her timeless look, she layered wide diamond bracelets and drop earrings from Harry Winston. She kept her hair simple adding subtle bends to her lob and used pink-toned makeup to complement her dress. Typically, the star opts for feminine frocks that range from layers of tulle fit...

Ladies at the Golden Globes suited up!
While many women stepped out in beautifully sculpted black gowns in support of the Time's Up movement, a handful of actresses served up a dose of nighttime elegance with black jumpsuits and striking suits.
These empowering females not only opted to don a dark hue as a way to express solidarity for the victims who have come out and shared their personal stories, but also put a feminine twist on classic menswear.
Claire Foy, nominated for her role on The Crown, mastered the art of understatement in a black oversized Stella McCartney black double breasted suit with wide leg trousers, which she accessorized with Harry Winston jewels and a bold red lip.

Alexis Bledel wowed in a black-and-white Oscar de la Renta jumpsuit with a side tie and floral decal from the designer's Resort 2018 collection.

With more Gossip Girl season finale spoilers, teases and hints coming out every day, anticipation is building rapidly for the May 14 conclusion of Season Five, entitled "The Return of The Ring."
Let's end the week with the latest possible clue, shall we? We shall.
Note: Turn back now, because this is a (potentially) key detail.
Here's the latest from E! Online ... make of it what you will:
"A highly placed show insider tells us fans should take the event Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester attended on April 27, the grand opening of Harry Winston's new store in Shanghai, as a major Gossip Girl finale clue."
We know that Blair makes a choice - a clear choice, no cliffhanger required - between Dan and Chuck in the season finale. Does this clue give Chuck the edge? Or could it be completely misleading?

When a show is on hiatus for a long time, it's important to refresh everyone's memory with the premiere, while still moving the story forward. I think The Secret Life of the American Teenager did a great job in "Smokin' Like A Virgin" of treating us to the aftermath of the big lake party.
Unfortunately, due to Ashley's irritating reappearance and a few really unrealistic plotlines, I couldn't bring myself to give this episode a perfect 5 star rating. I'm sorry but I'm not sure there is a character on TV who irritates me as much as Ashley Juergens. Not even Simone from Switched at Birth.
Ashley has a paltry arc, her snark isn't even enjoyable anymore and she is just a downright misery to watch. Sorry, but I'm not sorry for wishing she'd stayed in Florida.
Okay, onto everything else I'd so much rather talk about! First of all, it...

We’ve missed Natalie Portman. She’s mostly been on the down low since the birth of her son, Aleph, and the lack of her presence on red carpets has been felt. After her so-so apperance at the Golden Globes, she appeared at the 2012 SAG Awards in this burgundy Giambattista Valli gown. We’re quite in love with it. It’s simple, the color is unusual, and the drape is perfect. She accessorized the outfit with gorgeous Harry Winston jewels and a sparkling Judith Leiber clutch. While we think that Natalie has finally made a return to form, there are a couple of questions we’d like to pose to you. Is it too simple? Is the detailing at the bodice too frou-frou and busy? Should she have worn something around her neck as well? Or are you agreeing with us and think that Natalie rocked the red carpet like only she can?...

Elton John doesn’t do things by halves. He felt like shopping at the Harry Winston store yesterday in L.A., and even though he was accompanied by two bodyguards and partner David Furnish, he obviously wanted to be the center of attention without screaming “Look at me!” So he let his outfit do all the screaming for him. This is color coordination to the max, folks. Blue sunglasses, blue shirt, blue blazer, blue trousers and, last but not the least, those incredibly shiny blue brogues. We’re honestly surprised he didn’t get a blue rinse to go with all of that. Is it wrong that we want those shoes?
