Queen Elizabeth II’s career was, well, being queen. Her life changed at 10 years old when her uncle, King Edward VIII, abdicated, cementing her status as a future queen. However, in later years, she admitted if a career outside the royal family had been an option, she knew what she would’ve selected.

Think the queen would’ve made a career of breeding dogs or racing horses, given her lifelong love of dogs and horses? Wrong. Sure, she bred both horses and dogs. But, if given the opportunity for a different career path, neither would’ve been her first choice.
As royal author Gyles Brandreth told Radio Times, it went back to a certain entertainer who paid a World War II-era visit to Windsor Castle when...

Saturday’s feature race is the Diamond Jubilee, a race that provided a heart-stopping finish last year as superstar Australian mare Black Caviar almost lost the race in the shadow of the post.
In the aforementioned 2012 renewal of the Diamond Jubilee Society Rock (7/2) might have been the one to take down Black Caviar had he not practically fallen out of the stalls and as good as blown any chance he had. He did exceptionally well to finish a 2 length fifth all things considered and he makes most appeal here twelve months on to atone for that unlucky run last year.
He’s been successful twice at Group level since this race last year in the Sprint Cup (Group 1) and the Duke of York (Group 2) and has proved himself able to handle all sorts of ground.

Love them or hate them (although they claim you all love them), there's no denying that Heidi and Spencer Pratt made this year's series of Celebrity Big Brother a major talking point, and they've been snatching up column inches ever since.
In an interview with Digital Spy packed full of typically outrageous quotes, the reality TV gods discussed upcoming special Speidi: Scandal, Secrets & Surgery! ("It was us against the world"), their fear of being murdered in the CBB house ("If there was more alcohol, we'd be dead for sure"), rumours of their own reality show ("There definitely have been talks") and their love for the UK ("It was the first time [we] enjoyed being famous")...
First things first, Heidi, did you sort out your hair emergency?
Heidi: "Yeah, absolutely. I was euphoric. I couldn't believe it was happening, it was one of the best moments of my life."

Celebrity Big Brother kicked off on Thursday night with Frankie Dettori and Rylan Clark splitting the other housemates into two groups. One group of housemates were sent into the luxury house, and the others were sent into a dilapidated basement. After Dettori and Clark were introduced to the house, they were sent to the Diary Room where they watched videos of the entering housemates in pairs while they looked on outside with presenter Brian Dowling. They chose to keep Penrose in the luxury house after Clark claimed that she seemed like "a right laugh". Next up were Neighbours (more)...

Paula was greeted in the main part of the house by Rylan Clark, who, along with Frankie Dettori, chose to send her down to the basement over Tricia Penrose during last night's show launch. A new film about racing legend Ayrton Senna puts you in the cockpit with him. Asif Kapadia explains how he did it
When I was given the opportunity to direct Senna, I decided the film had to work for audiences who disliked sport, or had never seen a Formula One race in their lives. It had to thrill and emotionally engage people who had never heard of Ayrton Senna.
I was a sports fan long before I had any interest in film-making. I used to watch everything – football, boxing, cricket – and on Sunday afternoons Formula One was always on in the background. Before this film, I'd only ever been to one race. I worked with Michelle Yeoh on my last film, Far North, and her partner is Jean Todt; at the time, he ran Ferrari. So I went as a VIP to the British grand prix. I was in the...
