Beyonce‘s career breakthrough came in the 1990s as a teenage member of Destiny’s Child. But since then she has established herself as one of the biggest music stars of the 21st century. So naturally it’s challenging to narrow down the greatest hits of her career … not that we let that stop us from trying, though. Scroll down for our countdown of her best songs — including “Countdown”! Do you agree with how we rank them?
Destiny’s Child had several hits including “Survivor” and “Bills, Bills, Bills,” but it was “Say My Name” that earned Beyonce her first Grammys when she was only 19: Best R&b Duo/Group Performance and Best R&b Song. She has since become one of the most awarded individuals in Grammy history, the most awarded woman in history, and the most nominated woman in history. But most of the top categories have eluded her.

The MTV Europe Music Awards (otherwise known as the EMAs) returned for 2021 and took place in Hungary on Nov. 14 at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna - and the nominees for one of Europe's most highly anticipated award shows made for a pretty impressive lineup. Justin Bieber led the charge with eight total nominations, which included best artist, best pop, and best song, closely followed by Doja Cat and Lil Nas X. Ed Sheeran was the British act with the most nominations of the night, as he was up for best artist, best pop, best UK & Ireland act, best song, and best video (both of which are for his single "Bad Habits"). In the end, Sheeran went home with two awards: best artist and best song.

Although fans might not have realized it, the 2021 MTV VMAs ended up being quite a night for Beyoncé and Jay-Z's eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter. During the Video Music Awards telecast on Sunday, Sept. 12, MTV quickly rattled off a number of awards toward the end of the night that were handed out on stage. One of those was the Best Cinematography prize for "Brown Skin Girl," which is credited to Beyoncé, Saint Jhn and Wizkid, featuring Blue Ivy. This isn't the first time the tune has been honored with a prestigious award, as it also won the Grammy Award earlier this year for Best Music Video. The song was included on the 2019 soundtrack album The Lion King: The...

The technical categories at the VMAs are often some of the most interesting and hardest to predict. Unlike the main categories, these are not voted on by the general public, but by special juries of music insiders. Let’s take a look at which videos could grab one or two Moon Persons on September 12.
SEEWho’s hosting the 2021 VMAs? Doja Cat gets the coveted gig Best Art Direction
This category seems to favor visually busy music videos with a lot going on. So I would say that, unless Lil Nas X sweeps all his technical nominations for “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” “911” by Lady Gaga or “Best Friend” by Saweetie and Doja Cat seem to more closely resemble past winners. I will give “Best Friend” the edge just based on how creative that video is, but any of the three mentioned shouldn’t come as a surprise.

The Weeknd can’t seem to stop the trophies from coming.
Billboard announced winners for 42 categories of their Music Awards prior to their telecast on Sunday. The Weeknd collected 7 awards including Top Male Artist and Top R&b Album among others.
The off-air portion of the Music Awards is used to bestow the majority of accolades since the show will be short-fueled for time due to artist performances. Tonight’s show will feature a bevy of the biggest names in music including Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, BTS, Doja Cat, Sza, Jonas Brothers, Marshmello, Karol G, The Weeknd and more.
The late rapper Pop Smoke won 5 awards in the pre-telecast portion including Top New Artist, Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Album.
Latin artist Bad Bunny won 3.
Kpop group BTS also came away with 3.
Country artist Morgan Wallen’s three Billboard awards all came with asterisks today. After it was revealed by TMZ early February of Wallen using the N-word with a group of friends after a night of drinking, dick clark productions and MRC revoked Wallen’s privilege to be included in the show whatsoever. In their statement, Dcp said though Wallen is a “finalist this year based on charting… his recent conduct does not align with our core values [and] we will not be including him on the show in any capacity.”
Dcp’s statement continued: “It is heartening and encouraging to hear that Morgan is taking steps in his anti-racist journey and starting to do some meaningful work. We plan to evaluate his progress and will consider his participation in future shows.”

After becoming the most awarded woman in Grammys history, Beyoncé is celebrating with some quality family time. On Wednesday, the mother of three gave us a rare peek inside her home life by posting an Instagram album featuring her three kids, 9-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and 3-year-old twins Rumi and Sir. In one of the snaps, Beyoncé and Blue are shown making kissy faces at the camera while enjoying a meal at Nobu Malibu, and in another, the singer is pictured holding Sir's hand on the beach.
The cute photo album comes just weeks after Beyoncé took home her 28th record-breaking Grammy win for best R&b performance for "Black Parade." "As an artist, I believe it's my job, and all of our jobs, to reflect the times, and it's been such a difficult time. I wanted to uplift,...

Blue Ivy Carter is officially a Grammy winner! During the show's premiere ceremony on Sunday, the 9-year-old took home the award for best music video for her contributions to Beyoncé's "Brown Skin Girl" featuring Wizkid and Saint Jhn. Carter is now the second youngest Grammy winner, following Leah Peasel who won a Grammy at 8 years old with her sisters, Sarah and Hannah, as part of the group the Peasall Sisters.
While this may be Carter's first Grammy win, it certainly isn't the first award she's ever won. The 9-year-old already has an NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, and a Soul Train Award for "Brown Skin Girl," and we're confident there will be many more to come. Congrats, Blue!

In the first week of January 2020, a remix of Saint Jhn’s “Roses” flew into Spotify’s Top 100. It spent much of the year in the same lofty position, even cracking the Top Five last April, at which point it was earning more than four million streams a day on Spotify alone.
The original “Roses” is a brittle and swaggering rap ballad, like much of Saint Jhn’s catalog; the remix, by the Kazakhstani producer Imanbek, pushes towards Eurohouse, with a bludgeoning bass line and lyrics pitched up ’til they squeak.

Blue Ivy Carter is now a Grammy-nominated artist! The 8-year-old star has officially received a nod in the best music video category for her contributions to Beyoncé's "Brown Skin Girl." The Recording Academy initially released their list of selections on Nov. 24, but noticeably omitted Carter's name when crediting the track. It was only ascribed to Beyoncé - who led all artists with nine nominations in total - even though Carter, Nigerian singer Wizkid, and rapper Saint Jhn all lent their vocals to the tune. However, the coalition updated its website on Dec. 11 to include Carter and Wizkid. Saint Jhn, who didn't appear in the music video, still isn't included in the nomination.
Carter is no stranger to award nods and wins. She earned her first-ever songwriting prize at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards for helping to pen "Brown Skin Girl." Then, in February, she took home an NAACP Image...

Blue Ivy Carter is now among the youngest nominees in Grammy history after the Recording Academy acknowledged the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z as a featured artist in the video for “Brown Skin Girl.”
When the 2021 Grammy nominations were first announced in November, “Brown Skin Girl,” from The Lion King: The Gift, only listed Beyoncé as the main nominee in the Best Music Video category.
However, on Friday the Recording Academy updated the nomination to include both Blue Ivy and WizKid, another featured artist on the track, the Associated Press reports.

It goes without saying that, for just about everyone, 2020 was a no-good, very-bad year. But for a handful of artists, it was, numbers-wise, actually a very good year indeed – the year they rose from obscurity to stardom, all without leaving their homes.
But who had the best year? We can get a good idea by looking at who had the biggest growth in audio streams from January through November compared to 2019, the same methodology that powers Rolling Stone’s monthly Breakthrough 25 Chart. These are some of the artists who saw...

Did we call it or did we call it? Carole Baskin will hit the floor for her second dance on “Dancing with the Stars” to yet another kitty-themed song: “What’s New Pussycat” by Tom Jones. Tptb can’t stop, won’t stop.
The “Tiger King” star and Pasha Pashkov have the Viennese waltz, which might be slow enough to help them improve on their score of 11 for their paso doble on the premiere. The Viennese waltz is one of seven dances on deck for Week 2 — foxtrot, samba, tango, rumba, cha-cha and jive being the others.
Busting out the tough samba and rumba this early feels wrong, but Skai Jackson has the former and Justina Machado has the latter. They topped the leaderboard Week 1, each with a 21, and all signs so far point to them being able to handle whatever Alan Bersten and Sasha Farber, respectively, throw at them. Chrishell Stause also has the rumba,...

One of the fundamental concepts of quantum physics is that objective reality doesn’t exist until we observe it. For example, a photon can be neither here nor there, neither strictly a particle nor strictly a wave, until we measure it. Or, perhaps a better example: The Song of the Summer.
The Song of the Summer is a nebulous nothing that was never really a thing until we all decided, one day, that it was. The Song of the Summer could be anything, this song or that one depending on location,...

On the heels of her visual album Black Is King, Beyoncé has shared the stunning video for “Brown Skin Girl.”
The track features her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, WizKid and Saint Jhn. For the video — directed by Jenn Nkiru — they’re joined by Naomi Campbell, actress Lupita Nyong’o and Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé’s fellow Destiny’s Child.
The striking visual clocks in at just over six minutes, featuring debutantes in elegant gowns. “Pose like a trophy when they Naomi walking/She need an Oscar for that pretty dark skin,” Beyoncé sings.

Beyonce has released a new video for her song “Brown Skin Girl,” featuring appearances from her daughter Blue Ivy and former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, along with Naomi Campbell, actor Lupita Nyong’o, singers Saint Jhn and WizKid and others. It premiered Monday morning on “Good Morning America.”
While Beyonce released a video for the song last year, at the time of its initial release on her companion album to “The Lion King” film, the new video is from her “Black Is King” visual album based on the music from the film.
Like many of Beyonce’s recent videos, the Jenn Nkiru-directed clip is almost more like a series of paintings than a conventional video, with Beyonce and many others appearing in a series of beautiful settings and outfits. It may have been filmed several months ago, as little social distancing is in evidence.
In a brief statement to “GMA” about the video,...
