Even though neither 1982's Blade Runner nor 2017's Blade Runner 2049 moved the needle much in terms of box office, both are respected cult classics (especially the original). And the world originally woven by Ridley Scott from the story by Phillip K. Dick is one that studios keep looking to re-visit. The latest incarnation, live-action Prime Video series Blade Runner 2099 is gearing up to shoot this year and has cast Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh in a lead role.
With Scott on board as an executive producer and actual show-running duties falling to Silka Luisa, the show brings the story (as the title suggests) forward to 2099.
Prime Video has not officially announced any story details for the show, though scooper Daniel Richtman dug this up online (prepare your grain of salt accordingly until this is confirmed): "In Los Angeles 2099, Cora lived her entire life on the run, a chameleon forced to adopt numerous identities.

Michelle Yeoh is set to lead Prime Video's Blade Runner 2099, which will serve as a sequel to both Ridley Scott's original and Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049.
The first plot details for the show have also found their way online (via Daniel Richtman), and the brief synopsis outlines the basic premise of the sci-fi spin-off series.
As previously rumored, the show will be female-led, with Cora (possibly a former Blade Runner) joining forces with a Replicant named Olwen (Yeoh).
"In Los Angeles 2099, Cora lived her entire life on the run, a chameleon forced to adopt numerous identities. To secure a stable future for her brother, she assumes one final identity and is forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant who’s confronting the end of her life. The two are pulled into a widening conspiracy that poses an existential threat to a city that’s fighting to be reborn.

"You are the one that left." "For my career." "I don't buy that." Brainstorm Media has revealed the trailer for an indie comedy titled Cora Bora, the latest from indie filmmaker Hannah Pearl Utt. This premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival and it also played at the Provincetown, Frameline, Outfest LA, and Stockholm Film Festivals last year. Now set for a release in June in limited theaters. Cora Bora stars Hack's standout talent Meg Stalter as Cora. After a floundering music career, she goes back home to win her girlfriend back but will realize that it's much more than her love life that needs salvaging. The ensemble cast includes Jojo T. Gibbs, Manny Jacinto, Ayden Mayeri, Thomas Mann, Chrissie Fit, Andre Hyland, Margaret Cho, with Chelsea Peretti and Darrell Hammond. This looks light and screwy and funny. Might be fun. // Continue Reading ›...

As much as we’d love to see an FBIs crossover wedding—John Boyd and Shantel VanSanten are now on different shows, with Nina now part of the Fugitive Task Force on Most Wanted, so it could happen!—that’s not what’s in store for one of the spinoffs this spring. Because while VanSanten did tease to TV Insider, “There’s some bells on the horizon for some lucky winner in the finale of Most Wanted,” she wasn’t talking about her own character. Rather, as CBS’ official description of the finale, “Powderfinger,” airing May 21, reveals, it’s Ray (Edwin Hodge) who will be preparing to celebrate a major life milestone with his wedding to Cora (Caroline Harris) approaching. As for the case, the team will be busy racing to catch the culprit threatening Manhattan with a dirty bomb. Let’s hope that doesn’t interfere with the wedding!

1. Always hire Anthony Hopkins to deliver exposition. The man is an Oscar-winner, he’s played everybody from Hamlet to Hannibal Lecter, he’s got the best butter-melting British purr in the business. So if you’re Zack Snyder — or even if you’re not Zack Snyder, but are dropping the second chapter of a needlessly complicated space saga and need to get folks back up to speed — you enlist Sir Anthony to say things like: “On the far edges of the Motherworld’s reach, circling the gas giant Mara, was the small moon of Veldt…...

‘AHS: Delicate’ enters early labor with a fun, frenzied episode that finds the perfect tone and goes for broke as its water breaks.
“I’ll figure it out. Women always do.”
American Horror Story is no stranger to remixing real-life history with ludicrous, heightened Murphy-isms, whether it’s AHS: 1984’s incorporation of Richard Ramirez, AHS: Cult’s use of Valerie Solanas, or AHS: Coven’s prominent role for the Axeman of New Orleans. Accordingly, it’s very much par for the course for AHS: Delicate to riff on other pop culture touchstones and infinitely warp them to its wicked whims. That being said, it takes real guts to do a postmodern feminist version of Rosemary’s Baby and then actually put Mia Farrow – while she’s filming Rosemary’s Baby, no less – into the narrative. This is the type of gonzo bullshit that I want out of American Horror Story!

Remember when American Horror Story: Apocalypse flashed back to Russia in 1918 to reveal that Anastasia Romanov was a literal witch? Well, the FX anthology outdid itself on Wednesday by shoehorning Mia Farrow into the insanity that is AHS: Delicate.

It’s a new year with a new focus for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to want 2024 to be all about a “comeback.” However, it’s not without a “threat” to the pair’s supposed goal. A PR expert says Harry and Meghan risk a big problem as they get to work on their redemption plans.
‘Apathy’ is the ‘biggest threat’ to a 2024 Harry and Meghan ‘comeback’
Harry and Meghan have to tread carefully as they embark on overhauling their public image. Why? Because, as Dauntless PR’s Eleanor Cora told Express, there’s a danger of “apathy” in the eyes of the public.
“The biggest threat to Harry and Meghan’s plans for a comeback is apathy,” Cora said. “The novelty of getting a glimpse behind the royal curtain may be starting to wear off.”

“The Bains take care of their own,” said Bain family matriarch Grace in the Shetland series eight opener when her 23-year-old granddaughter Ellen was declared missing. “Ellen’s a Quinn,” corrected Grace’s son-in-law Kieran Quinn. But is she?
That was the line of inquiry investigated by Di Ruth Calder in episode four, after she heard from a reliable source that when Ellen’s mother Stella was very young, she had a relationship with Ruth’s father. The local Church of Scotland reverend, now-deceased, was the leader of a youth group attended by young Stella, which set Ruth’s mind to thinking – could Ellen have secretly been her half-sister, conceived and born years after Ruth left Shetland as an 18 year old?

Sometimes, even as a woman myself, it gets a tad too baffling to wonder how women even do it. What’s “it”, you ask? Well, it’s just the simple matter of holding on to the pieces as every fiber of her body threatens to fall apart and doing a darn good job at that. If it’s American Horror Story, it’s bound to go a bit silly. But even amidst the sarcastic jabs and straight-up ironic back-and-forth, what Delicate is most dedicated to is telling the story of the perseverance of women. So, what did Anna hold her head high through on the 5th episode of American Horror Story: Delicate? And is there any help available?

Another week, another demon baby born amid bloodcurdling screams. Hey, American Horror Story is nothing if not consistent.
Wednesday’s episode, billed as the finale of AHS: Delicate Part 1, begins with a trip back to 1987 Manhattan, where a young designer (psst, it’s Ms. Preecher!) experiences a violent, terrifying birth at the hands of Dr. Hill and the Ashleys — or whatever names they were going by at that time.

Only in the American Horror Story universe are you not totally dumbfounded by the fact that the cold open just made you go back and check if you’re watching the right show. And when a narrative is this unpredictable and the horror creeps you out way more than it sends chills down your spine, you know that Delicate is finally on its way to achieving cult status. Just like the rest of the deliciously morbid seasons that make American Horror Story what it is. Witches, satanic abuse, demonic children, and the freakiest pregnancy craving combined—Anna might just get nominated for the Most Miserable Pregnant Woman Award. At least throwing up on the stage wouldn’t be that big of a deal.

Helen Mirren made a welcome return to TV with her stunning Western series “1923” opposite the inimitable Harrison Ford. The series is another show from Taylor Sheridan‘s Western world, which started off with Kevin Costner‘s “Yellowstone” and also includes the prequel “1883.”
This one is set in between those two shows and follows Mirren and Ford as married couple Cara and Jacob Dutton, who lead their family through a variety of challenges in the early 20th century, including the prohibition era and the Great Depression. As Cara, Mirren owns the screen with her Dame-like presence and commands your attention in every scene she’s in. She’s introduced with a shotgun but doesn’t need such props to show what a powerful actress she is. She’s a force to be reckoned with, as usual, as critics have noted.

Starring Anna Camp, Jennifer Lafleur, John Ales, and Travis Hammer, From Black is about Cora Loewen, who agrees to undergo a dangerous ritual to get her dead son back. Although the premise sounds interesting, poor direction and bad storytelling techniques make the movie rather unsatisfactory to watch.

Each MasterChef judge brings something unique to the television show. They provide expert-level critiques and personalities, while acting as the face of the series. The U.S. iteration started with Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Joe Bastianich, but there was only one permanent female judge on MasterChef in Christina Tosi. The most recent panel includes Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Bastianich. Here’s a list of four excellent chefs that would make great judges on the show.

For almost 10 years, we’ve seen a slew of Gen-z coming-of-age indie comedies come and go for young people like myself to consume, laugh at, and possibly relate to. There have been great ones like Bo Burnham‘s Eighth Grade. There have been good ones like Greta Gerwig‘s Lady Bird. There have been fine ones like Olivia Wilde‘s Booksmart. Most importantly though, there have been mediocre and bad ones as well.
Cora Bora, which premiered this week at the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, the latest indie coming-of-age comedy from director Hannah Pearl Utt, is, unfortunately, one of the mediocre ones.
Cora Bora follows a young musician named Cora (Hacks‘ Megan Stalter), who is struggling to both break into the L.A. music industry and maintain her long-distance, open relationship with her girlfriend, Justine (Jojo T. Gibbs). One day Cora and Justine have a video chat...

“Why do people keep asking me that?” Cora (Megan Stalter) asks somewhere around the fifth time in Cora Bora that someone angrily demands to know what is wrong with her. Her answer, when she can be bothered to give one, is that nothing is. But it’s been clear from the opening moments of Cora Bora that that’s very far from the case.

Lyle Lovett's return might be good news for fans, but not so much for the Reagans.
Whenever his character shows up, Danny has his hands full. He has to stop Gates from engaging in cowboy justice instead of following New York rules.
And on Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 15, Gates' newest mission could paint a target on every Reagan's back.
Gates' original appearance made sense. He and Danny had to work together to find the Lone Star Killer, who hailed from Texas and was attacking people in New York. Similarly, he and Danny had to work together to catch a killer on Blue Bloods Season 12 Episode 10.
This time, Danny will help Gates transport a dangerous drug kingpin from Texas to New York to face arraignment. That seems odd; why is Danny needed for this task?

There were screen bombshells, movie sex symbols, early film-nerd pin-ups — and then there was Raquel Welch. Born Jo Raquel Tejada, the Bolivian-American actor cut her teeth on a handful of early TV show appearances and a brief appearance in an Elvis Presley musical (Roustabout) before nabbing the role of Cora, the medical assistant who is shrunk down to miniature size in Fantastic Voyage (1966). How much death and destruction can one family take?
1923 Season 1 Episode 5 broke my heart into pieces, and after what we've come to know with the Yellowstone prequels, it would be silly to hold out hope.
The light of the family may be gone before anyone even got a chance to see it.
Things at the Yellowstone are dour. Everyone is on high alert after the massacre.
Cara's daily trips to the post office, hoping for word from Spencer, are done with armed guards. Those trips are mostly futile.
The family is barely holding on. Emma died with her husband and snuffed out her traitorous body when dragging it along no longer mattered to her.
Before she died, Emma had nasty words for Cora.

The television landscape is always a bit bleaker when we can't look forward to Fox's Fantasy Island to escape our humdrum existence.
Roselyn Sanchez and Kiara Barnes are the hostesses with the most-esses. Fans look forward to that moment every week when they welcome guests to the magical holiday destination that will grant wishes and improve lives.
So far, Fantasy Island Season 2 has taken us to a high school reunion, a bachelor party, marriage counseling, and 1980s Miami. Next up is a double narrative with past and present echoing each other, guest starring Joely Fisher.
The episode, titled "The Urn," will see Roarke relive her first hostess experience when a trio of guests brings the past to her.
"After an urn comes off the plane, three siblings must work through their past resentments in order to spread their mom's ashes and fulfill her last fantasy. As the kids wrestle with their past,...
