I'll confess to seriously mixed feelings about "the gay channel" Logo's recent reliance on cheaper-to-produce reality TV shows, at the clear expense of enjoyable, but much more expensive-to-mount scripted shows like Noah's Arc and (especially) Rick and Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World.
Sure, RuPaul's Drag Race was deservedly a big hit (and The Robert Verdi Show was a gem, but under-appreciated, mostly because people missed the satire). But I was mostly underwhelmed by the RuPaul spin-off Drag U and the flower-arranging show The Arrangement. As for The A-List: New York ... well, don't get me started.
But Logo (which owns AfterElton.com) has another potential hit on their hands with The Setup Squad, premiering April 25th at 11:30 Pm, at least based on the first episode, provided to us by the channel.

The A-List: New York's Reichen Lehmkuhl
In our parent company Logo's new reality show The A-List: New York, a “docu-soap” about the lives and loves of six social-climbing gay men, there’s a scene where Reichen Lehmkuhl is about to have sex with his boyfriend in a hot tub.
“Oops,” says the boyfriend, Brazilian model Rodiney Santiago, as he slips his swimsuit off.
But just as things are really steaming up, Reichen’s cellphone rings. When he climbs out of the tub to answer it, it turns out it’s Austin Armacost, one of the other A-List-ers – the guy that the show has clearly telegraphed is going to try to come between Reichen and Rodiney over the course of the season.
Austin tells Reichen he wants them to go out to dinner, even as Rodiney sits stewing in the hot tub.

For her first outfit of the night, when Gaga hit the Vma white carpet and already won two of her eight VMAs, she was wearing an Alexander McQueen outfit that consisted of taffeta, a feather Mohawk, a Renaissance art design and her famous "Bad Romance" McQueen lobster claw heels. So when everyone from Lady Gaga to Ke$ha to Nicki Minaj steps onto the white carpet of the 2010 VMAs on Sunday night (September 12), the styles are bound to be eye-catching. We can hardly wait for 8 p.m. to start imagining what they'll wear, so MTV News went to the experts for their predictions.

Ke$ha has admitted to wearing road kill on occasion, so she will certainly be willing to take some fashion risks. But Faran Krentcil, digital director at Nylon magazine, hopes the Tik Tok singer doesn't turn risky into trashy.
"Who do I think she should wear to the VMAs?...

Robert said he could spoil his mom to death, but at the end of the day there’s one thing she really loves– looking at pictures! So, every year he puts together photo albums for her. Ever wondering how much prep goes into the most fashionable night of the year? Well, now you can find out!
Didn’t Eva Longoria look absolutely stunning in her Marchesa gown at the Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 3? I can’t even begin to imagine all of the prep work that goes into getting pretty, but luckily Eva’s seasoned stylist, Robert Verdi, gave us the scoop on the big day! “Its the perfect opportunity to wear a dress unexpected and more fashion-y,” he said, and Eva definitely took that all the way on the carpet. “It was a very sophisticated dress to wear, if it were a circus act it would be juggling on a unicycle on a trapeze,” he said. “I mean between the dramatic fish tail and the odd length she’s tiny and with her sophisticated pose, shes works it until its unemployed!

You Have No Idea How I Suffer For My, Um, Art
If there is any task I truly hate as the editor of AfterElton.com, it's having to deal with the Hot 100 every year. The sheer torture of having to check each and every one of your Hot 100 comments for the photos of hot guys you have posted is excruciating.
I can't tell you how much I dread having to— ooh, someone just a posted a new picture of Eddie Cibrian! And check out that one of Sendhil Ramamurthy! Smokin'!
Cibrian is Spanish for "sex on a stick"
Um, where was I? Anyway, I was going to share my Hot 100 pics this week, but it occurs to me that you guys are probably sick of hot guys by this point. In fact, I can sense you are hungering for something more intellectual, so today's column is devoted to a discussion of quantum mechanics.

Kristen Bell is adorable, that's for sure. We had a short 'n' sweet catch-up sesh with her after she and Robert Verdi gave a trio of ladies makeovers on behalf of Marshalls and Dress for Success' Unlock the Shopportunity campaign. Needless to say, we were happy to hear her thoughts on female empowerment, but we made sure to try and press her on the bigger issues—you know, the Veronica Mars movie, Party Down, Heroes, Parenthood and a particular star of that last show (fiancé Dax Shepard, duh!). She might be cute, but she's also coy… While wedding questions were out of the question, we did our best to squeeze from her what we could. Any news on the Veronica Mars...

The “When In Rome” actress was all smiles as she arrived at the Union Square event, sporting an all-black ensemble and a big smile.
During the event, Kristen teamed up with fashionista Robert Verdi to make over three ladies using clothing from Marshalls.
In addition, the three lucky women were each given a $5,000 shopping spree to the discount retailer.

I'm not at my best right now because I really really want to take a nap. Walking at least two miles a day between my house and campus sucks way more than biking the same amount. If I happen to get my hands on whoever stole my bike, they're getting a kick in the nuts and/or ovaries (hey, this is Miami) with my left foot because my right ankle is currently attempting to throw in the towel and could not be counted on to carry out such an important task without causing me undue pain. Also I'm way more aware of the creepy drivers who slow down to look at me now that I'm not trying to keep myself from running into telephone poles. And look, I'm sure there may be one couple out there whose story starts with "Well, I was walking down the street one day and...

Apparently this week things started heating up in areas of the country that are not located in a sub-tropical climate and I've seen some complaints on the internet. It got up to 80º F! The horror! It's like it's June already! Listen, I get that it's a pretty big difference from normal spring weather, but color me unimpressed. High 70s to mid 80s Is spring here in Miami. We're all still wearing long pants and jackets in the evenings. (Also, I went to weather.com to confirm the weather here and there's an amusing glitch that shows tomorrow's low temperature as 32º. I know it's a glitch because I panicked and checked two other sources to make sure that wasn't true, so it was more "scary" than "amusing" for about a minute there.) Anyway, y'all can get me back when the humidity hits about 1,000% in early May and I'm trying to grow gills.

Political sex scandals quantified, Johnny Lee Miller is too pretty for the apocalypse, and Lady GaGa remixed for Sesame Street
I know there have been 4,382,987 mashups done of Lady GaGa’s “Telephone” but none are as epic as Sesame Street’s Yip Yips doing the song. You just got served!
In other Jim Henson–related news, Dark Crystal 2 is still happening. It’s being directed by Genndy Tartakovsky who does have the epic Samurai Jack to his name. Still, I’m not sure this works in 2010 when we’re so used to CGI.
In the New York Times ongoing feature “Vows” we meet Brian and Ryan, who are an amazing expression of what we’re trying to show the world about our love. Especially sandwiched between all the “more traditional” couples.
RuPaul’s brand new remix album Drag Race is available on iTunes, but the World of wonder folks have a preview you can hear.

I'm writing this from the school library since I left my MacBook's power cord back in Maryland. Now, knowing that I had to do this, I felt a twinge of guilt that I'd be depriving someone who may have genuine academic needs of a computer. But then I glanced over to my right and realized that another student is watching the latest episode of "24" on a school computer, and felt less guilty. At least with a Word document open I look like I might be doing something school related, he's got the show full screened so there's no question that he's deeply engaged in the exciting exploits of Jack Bauer. Either way, my cord should be back to me tomorrow, so I won't have to do this again. Here's Wednesday night's TV:
8:00 p.m.: "America's Next Top Model" on The CW.
"Mercy" on NBC. This is still around?...

Most bosses wouldn’t get acupuncture or a shave in front of their staff. But then they wouldn’t call their staff “bitches” either, or demand that they turn their boss into an entire TV channel — the Robert Verdi Channel! But Robert Verdi does this every week and you will Lol as you watch. Have fun with Robert, BFFs!

When Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart rock the big screen this weekend in their new flick "The Runaways," fans will see them in full '70s style. That means they'll be rocking feathered and shag haircuts, bell-bottom jeans and lots of vintage T-shirts. Some of the fashion community's biggest stars admit that this summer, they suspect a lot of young ladies will try their hand at that classic Runaways style.
"[The girls are] bringing in the feathered rock-and-roll look," "The City" boss Kelly Cutrone told MTV News. "The good news about this film for me, right now, is that '70s fashion is affordable. It was all about the satin shorts. It was all about the little thongy tank tops with a boy shirt...

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Today's a day when we honor the strong Irish heritage of many Americans by engaging in behaviors generally considered socially unacceptable, and egregious use of tacky decorations. A day when everyone is Irish, if by "Irish" you mean "prone to drinking a lot while wearing ridiculous clothing prominently featuring green, shamrocks, or directions to kiss something". Today is also a day when I get an above average numbers of inquiries into my heritage since I "look" Irish, except that I don't really because most people assumed I was French before I started dying my hair red. However, I will be attempting to parlay my ability to sing Irish folk songs in Irish Gaelic into free drinks. Gotta play to your strengths. Here's what's on TV:
8:00 p.m.: "America's Next Top Model" on The CW. Another 90 minute episode.
