Enter the fast and turbulent world of underground crime in the new trailer from the Netflix original series The Gentlemen. The new show is inspired by Guy Ritchie‘s film of the same name. The trailer sees an unsuspecting chap get in over his head as he unintentionally becomes involved with his family’s drug dealings. This new peek at the series showcases the signature aggressive manic style of Guy Ritchie’s gangster films. Ritchie himself is wearing multiple hats behind the scenes as the creator, writer, and executive producer. He has also directed the first two episodes of the series. The show was also previously known to premiere sometime next month, but we now have a release date as Netflix announced the premiere will be on March 7.

The TCA panel for The Alienist: Angel of Darkness came right before the two-part season finale on Sunday and even though showrunner Stuart Carolan and stars Daniel Brühl and Dakota Fanning remained tight-lipped on what we could expect for the ending of season 2, they did give us insight in how it was like revisiting these characters in a new story. In particular, Fanning talked about her character Sara and how it reflects the movement of female empowerment.
In the new season, Sara has opened her own detective agency and has employed women who she is mentoring. “In The Alienist, we saw her as the first female to hold a position at the New York Police Department and we saw her wanting more,” said Fanning. “Right away in this new season, we see that… she has opened her own business and is struggling to be taken seriously as a female detective...

The 4 x 1hour series stars Robert Sheehan (Misfits), Aidan Gillen (The Wire), Ruth Negga (Breakfast on Pluto) and Ruth Bradley (Stardust) and explores Dublin's modern gangland community. Iftn spoke with 'Love/Hate' screenwriter, Stuart Carolan (Little White Lie, Raw) to discuss the very personal inspiration behind the project, the cast members involved and his alternative approach to researching Dublin's gangland members. 'Love/Hate' is directed by David Caffrey (Divorcing Jack, Raw) and shot for seven weeks in October and November of last year around Dublin. The series starts with a catastrophic event which ignites the tensions in a small-time drug gang, family, friends and community who must live with the consequences.
