Not all Dancing With The Stars pro dancers get along with their celebrity partners. Former pro Louis van Amstel recently admitted he can’t stand one of his former partners from his run on the show.
Since DWTS couples spend so much time together in the rehearsal room, it stands to reason that arguments come up now and then. But Louis van Amstel didn’t have many kind words to say about one former partner.
Who was the woman in question? See what the former DWTS pro had to say.

Former Dancing With the Stars pro Lacey Schwimmer, who appeared on the ABC competition series for six seasons, has been opening up about her time on the show and the hurtful comments she received at the time about her weight. Appearing on the latest episode of the Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast, hosted by fellow DWTS alum Cheryl Burke, Schwimmer touched on upsetting remarks made by ex-dwts pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Louis van Amstel back in 2008. “First, no one should ever, ever discredit somebody based off of their appearance. I don’t care if you’re skinny, fat, whatever. Ugly face, busted teeth — I don’t care what you look like. It has nothing to do with your talent or ability or what you are hired to do,” Schwimmer said, per People. The pro dancer said that when she was on the show (from Season 7 to Season 13), it was...

The heartfelt tribute to Len Goodman on Dancing With the Stars this week would not have been the same without the return of Og dance pros. After the live episode aired, Louis van Amstel, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, and Anna Trebunskaya chatted with TV Insider about their emotional visit to the ballroom, honoring Goodman, changes to the show, and whether or not they’re up for coming back for more appearances. There were quite a few contemporary dances performed on “Most Memorable Year” week. While those dances served as a stark contrast to the traditional Waltz that was performed for Goodman, that wasn’t the only reason there were so many of them. “When it comes to ‘Most Memorable Year,’ doing contemporary allows you to express more,” pointed out Dovolani. “The show balanced out those dances with all of us coming back and doing a classic dance to honor Len.

“Len was just charming, and that’s how I remember him even at 12-years-old,” said ballroom dancer, six-time Mirror Ball champion and now “Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough on “Most Memorable Year Night.” He was reminiscing about Len Goodman, who had judged “DWTS” since its very first season in 2005. But he decided to retire from the show at the end of the 2022 season, and then he passed away in April 2023. The show paid tribute to the late, great Goodman with a special group dance. Watch the entire segment above.
“He’s been in my life since the very beginning,” remembered Mark Ballas. Indeed, for many “DWTS” pros Goodman’s influence began well before the dance competition series first came on the air almost two decades ago. “He was very well respected within the ballroom community,” explained Kim Johnson-Herjavek. Ballas added, “He was a big-time judge when we were all starting to compete.

It’s been six months beloved judge Len Goodman passed, but Dancing with the Stars isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.
Though Tuesday’s theme was Most Memorable Year, the Week 5 episode was really meant to honor Goodman, who died from prostate cancer in April at the age of 78. After airing a sentimental package featuring past pros talking about what an honor it was to be both complimented and criticized by Goodman, the episode then featured a dance tribute to “Moon River” that was waltzed to perfection by current pros and past faves Kym Johnson, Anna Trebunskaya, Karina Smirnoff, Edyta Sliwinska, Tony Dovolani, Louis van Amstel, Maks Chmerkovskiy and Mark Ballas.
It ended with the troupe gesturing to an empty middle chair on the judges’ dais. Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli wept.

Longtime “Dancing With the Stars” pro dancer Cheryl Burke may have hung up her tap shoes and samba heels while exiting from the competitive reality series, but she hasn’t yet closed the door on other ballroom opportunities.
Following the announcement of her exit as a dancer on Sunday, Burke expressed to Entertainment Tonight that she had interest in occupying a spot on the judging panel, now left vacant after this season’s other departure of Len Goodman.

(Spoiler Alert: This article reveals who won “Dancing With the Stars” Season 31 on Nov. 21.)
On Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” finale, a new winner was crowned and the competition bid farewell to both judge Len Goodman and pro dancer Cheryl Burke, who have both been with the show since its debut in 2005.
The four final couples — Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas, Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, Shangela and Gleb Savchenko, and Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy — competed to take home the Mirrorball Trophy with a Redemption Dance, in which they performed a dance from earlier in the season in hopes of getting a higher score, and a final freestyle in which they left it all on the dance floor.
All the freestyles earned perfect scores, but Charli and Mark’s joyous, kick-up-your-heels Hollywood-inspired number was the last step on their way to claiming the Mirrorball. The 18-year-old social...

Dancing with the Stars‘ first season on Disney+ has come to end! So much change has already been announced going into tonight’s season 31 finale. First, judge Len Goodman and Cheryl Burke have called it quits. Then, Disney gave Bob Chapek the heave-ho and rewarded Bob Iger with his old CEO seat. A desperate plea from the cheap seats, Mr. Iger: return the mirror ball to ABC! I think we can all agree that this streaming experiment has gone the way of the polka: no one wants Disney+ anywhere near the ballroom. Perhaps moving it back home to Mondays on ABC can be your next major decision after lowering the price for the Genie+ line-skipping service at the parks?
Speaking of redemptive acts, it’s time for the couples to redo their performances from the season.

Cheryl Burke will dance her last dance on Monday. The two-time “Dancing with the Stars” champ will retire as a pro after the Season 31 finale, she announced on Sunday.
“This has been one of the absolute hardest decisions of my life & I am also confident that it is the right one,” Burke wrote on Instagram. “This show has been my 2nd family since I was 21 years old. The cast, crew & fans have seen me through my highest highs & some of my lowest lows, & I honestly don’t know who I would be today without them. I also know that it is time for me to begin the next phase of my career, although dance will always be a part of me.”
Burke has discussed leaving “Dancing” before, including prior to Season 30 and after she and Sam Champion were eliminated this season. “A lot of people have asked me if this is my last season.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Dancing With the Stars Season 31 Episode 4.] Dancing With the Stars got meta in Episode 4. This week’s theme was celebrating all things Disney+, prompting each pair of dancers to perform a number in tribute to a movie or show currently available to stream on the platform. Basically, it was a two-hour, high-energy ad for the Disney+ catalogue. Last week saw the elimination of Charlie’s Angels legend Cheryl Ladd and her partner, Louis van Amstel. Atop the Season 31 Bond Night leader board once again was Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas, Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, and Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, each with 33/40. And while Cheryl and Louis weren’t in last place last week, it wasn’t enough to keep them safe. With all of the themed costumes, DWTS‘s Disney+ night felt like the ...

Sam Champion and Cheryl Burke were saved from elimination on “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday, but the pro would’ve been all right if the judges had voted the other way.
“With this season in particular, there’s peace along with the whole elimination process,” Burke told Us Weekly. “Like, normally I’m a nervous, sweaty wreck, but with Sam, if I’m looking at the actual ability of all the celebrities? We are very blessed to still be in this competition, to be quite honest, and Sam knows that.”
The pair landed in the bottom two for the first time this season after earning a 25 for their samba on Bond Night. The judges unanimously voted to save them, sending Cheryl Ladd and Louis van Amstel, who were in the bottom two for the second straight week, out the door. With Ladd’s exit, Champion, 61, is now the oldest contestant remaining in the competition.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli served as the villains on “James Bond Night” on Dancing With the Stars as far as Cheryl Ladd and Louis van Amstel – and millions of Charlie’s Angels fans – are concerned. For the second week in a row, the Ladd and van Amstel found themselves in the bottom two in the dance competition reality series. The good news is that the judges unanimously voted to save a Cheryl…but the bad news for #TeamAngel is that they saved Cheryl Burke and her celebrity partner, ABC weatherman Sam Champion. TV Insider chatted with Ladd and van Amstel about their DWTS journey and also with a few pro dancers about the couple’s exit. Dancing With the Stars has been killing it with theme nights in its move to Disney+.
The hit reality series went with memorable songs from the James Bond film franchise Monday night.
To the surprise of everyone, there was no "Skyfall," which was strange because that song was everywhere.
Joseph Baena was still without Daniella Karagach, who tested positive for Covid-19 last week.
Alexis Warr returned to help him through an Argentine tango that served as another strong performance.
But, who got on the wrong side of judges and viewers on Bond Night?
Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas - 33 out of 40 - Safe
The pair danced to Billie Eilish's "No Time to Die," and it was another showstopper for these two.
They're truly on the upper end of the competitors this season and have the potential to steamroll the entire competition.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Dancing With the Stars Season 31 Episode 3.] Dancing With the Stars, shaken, not stirred. Following last week’s “Elvis Night” tiebreaker that saw Teresa Giudice sent home, James Bond night kicked off Monday, October 3, on Disney+. The amateurs and pros took on some of the Oscar-winning 007 musical themes for a night of debonair dancing — most of them rumbas. Daniella Karagach was still out following her positive Covid test last week. Joseph Baena is still dancing with troupe member Alexis Warr, but the unexpected change impressively didn’t inhibit the dance novice’s performance last week or this week. Karagach’s husband, Pasha Pashkov, was eliminated last week with Giudice in favor of Charlie’s Angels star Cheryl Ladd and partner Louis van Amstel. The professionals kicked things off with a sexy group number to “Live and Let Die.” Beginning the night with the first competitive dance was Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas...

Conrad Green, it’s so good to have you back as executive producer on Dancing with the Stars! First we get Derek Hough running around like a spy and rappelling down to the ballroom before Peta Murgatroyd helped to kick off a fiery opening number to “Live and Let Die.” Just like old times when DWTS was in its glory years on ABC.
Let’s get on with Bond night, James Bond night on Disney+.
Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel. The veteran actress thought she was a goner last week, but Goodman — bless his heart — saved her for another day. So she dug up an old photo of her and Sean Connery for inspiration so she can be “the Bond girl I never got to be” while performing a rumba. Elegant! “That was your best dance,” said judge Hough, who was particularly impressed with the graceful way she held her arms.

In an unusual turn of events, more than half of the contestants were performing in the same dance style. Eight out of the 14 got slow and sensual rumbas: actress Selma Blair, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, country singer Jessie James Decker, actor Daniel Durant, “Jersey Shore” alum Vinny Guadagnino, actress Cheryl Ladd, drag queen Shangela, and singer Jordin Sparks. That left six who were performing different routines. Dancing the Argentine tango were reality TV star Heidi D’Amelio and fitness model Joseph Baena. Actors Wayne Brady and Trevor Donovan performed regular tangos. Meteorologist Sam Champion got the notoriously difficult samba.

“Dancing with the Stars” will get shaken, not stirred, when it celebrates Bond Night on Monday’s episode.
To mark the 60th anniversary of the release of the first James Bond film, “Dr. No,” the top 14 will perform to Bond theme songs on Week 3. But you won’t hear one notable tune: Adele‘s “Skyfall” from the 2012 film of the same name and the first Bond theme to win the Best Original Song Oscar. The subsequent two Oscar-winning themes, Sam Smith‘s “Writing on the Wall” from 2015’s “Spectre” and Billie Eilish‘s title track to last year’s “No Time to Die,” will be represented on the show.
And with the moody nature of most of the tracks, you will not be shocked to learn that there will be lots of rumbas — eight of them, to be exact. Definitely a missed opportunity not to make it 007.

Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov became the second couple eliminated from Season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday night, but the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star was hardly shocked by the result, especially when head judge Len Goodman had the final say.

For the second week in a row, Giudice and Pashkov landed in the bottom two, despite improving their score by three points, earning a 23 for their jive to “All Shook Up” on Elvis Night. It was the second lowest of the night, behind Ladd and Louis van Amstel‘s 21 for their tango to “A Little Less Conversation.”

Last week, Teresa Giudice found herself in the bottom two on Dancing With the Stars. The judges – Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli – unanimously voted to save her (over Sex and the City hunk Jason Lewis) so she could compete in this week’s Elvis Presley-themed night. Alas, after earning just 23 points for her jive (to the Presley hit “All Shook Up”), she landed in the bottom two again and this time, she wasn’t so fortunate when it came to remaining on in the dance competition/reality series. While the judges were split on who to send home, Goodman’s vote carries more weight and he chose to save Charlies Angel star Cheryl Ladd and her pro partner, Louis van Amstel; as a result, Giudice and her pro partner Pasha Pashkov were sent packing. TV Insider was on the scene when Giudice spoke to...

Dancing With the Stars has made Disney+ its home, and after two episodes, it's clear the series is better following the move.
Monday's two-hour spectacular involved a tribute to Elvis Presley.
There was immediate drama going into the episode after it emerged that Daniella Karagach tested positive for Covid-19.
As a result, Joseph Baena was paired up with Alexis Warr as a temporary measure.
How did they match up when all was said and done, and more importantly, who got the boot?
Jessie James Decker and Alan Bersten - 25 out of 40 - Safe
It's becoming increasingly clearer that these two may be a match made in DWTS heaven.
They're not the best of the performers, but they are close enough to the best.
Jordan Sparks and Branton Armstrong - 25 out of 40 - Safe
Their performance markedly improved on the season premiere, delivering some great moments.
Thankfully, they were deemed safe...

After reporting multiple cases of Covid in the last week, Dancing with the Stars returned to the Disney+ ballroom Monday to honor Elvis Presley and to showcase how much Tyra Banks towers over her hosting partner Alfonso Ribeiro. Those two need to stand at opposite sides of the stage! The pro lineup was unfortunately one hoofer short: Daniella Karagach tested positive for the virus overnight so her partner Joseph Baena had to mask up and perform with fill-in troupe dancer Alexis Warr.
Let’s roll the tape on week 2!
Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel. The duo took an adorable spin in a convertible before their performance, but there wasn’t a lot that was cute about their tango to “A Little Less Conversation.” Ladd got lost, missed many, many steps, and was genuinely overwhelmed by what was expected of her. But damn, the ‘ol girl looks great! “That would...

It was another big week for TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and pro partner Mark Ballas in the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom, but while they came out of the evening’s competition at the top of the leaderboard once again, it was a night that saw another celebrity and their pro partner go home.

Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov have been eliminated from the competition.
“I wanted to dance my whole life and I finally did at 50,” “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star said after learning she was going home.
The way eliminations work this season is viewer votes help the show get down to the bottom 2, and on Monday it was Giudice and Pashkov, and Cheryl Ladd with her pro partner Louis Van Amstel. The choice was then turned over to the judges.
