It was actress Jameela Jamil who was responsible for bringing Megan Thee Stallion onto the screen for a brief cameo in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Stallion played herself in the series and even shared some dance moves with lead actress Tatiana Maslany. While the executive producers of the show believed Stallion’s scene to be one of the “most important” ones in the MCU, it may turn out to be the franchise’s biggest regret.
Hiss singer Megan Thee Stallion becomes Marvel’s new headache as her lawsuit affects the studio’s reputation
Stallion’s former cameraman Emilio Garcia filed a lawsuit against the Savage singer alleging that she trapped him inside a moving Svu while she had s*x with a woman (via NBC News). Disney and Marvel may have to denounce Stallion in the same manner as Jonathan Majors after the lawsuit.

Tatiana Maslany, Star of MCU’s She-Hulk, Addresses Marvel Fan Sexism: “It Felt Like Part of the Fun”
If you’re part of the MCU fandom, no matter which “side” you’re on, chances are you noticed that most shows and live-action movies in one way or another focus on female superheroes. It’s part of the new progressive and inclusive strategy that aims to open up the exciting world of superheroes to more than just one demographic.
The success of that strategy remains uncertain for now, as plenty of backlash is generated overall. The most recent example of that is ‘The Marvels,’ the lowest-grossing MCU movie so far.
But before ‘The Marvels,’ there was the ‘She-Hulk’ live-action TV show that introduced Bruce Banner’s cousin to the MCU. Strangely, the show was largely praised by the critics but totally panned by fans, which led even its main star Tatiana Maslany to comment on how the chances of the show getting a sequel were slim.
As it turns out,...

When Tatiana Maslany was announced to be starring as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Marvel fans were excited about another talented actress playing a popular Marvel character. However, when the trailers and promotional material for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law were released, fans were concerned with the forced slapstick comedy and the show’s handling of the fourth-wall-breaking trait of the character.
Tatiana Maslany plays the titular character in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
The show ultimately was criticized by fans despite receiving good reviews from critics. Fans’ concerns came true and it is considered one of the worst entries in the MCU. Instead of owning up to the show’s failure, Maslany honed in on how the show itself predicted the criticism that was about to emerge.

And while the Black Widow prequel movie wasn’t one of Marvel’s best or most lucrative movies, it did conclude the story of Natasha Romanoff in the MCU, and introduced us to some new characters we are going to see in some of the upcoming movies. But, this article won’t be about the movie itself, as it is going to be about the complex creative process that led to the final product, as IndieWire had a talk with one of the story co-writers Ned Benson, who joined the production at a later date, rewriting the original pitch, but even his version did not end up being the final one.
Ned Benson had a short talk with IndieWire about a potential return to the MCU, seeing how his original collaboration with the large cinematic project didn’t turn out to be the best, but it seems that the filmmaker...

Dan Harmon has established a pretty neat little entertainment empire, creating the beloved cult hit "Community" before co-creating "Rick and Morty" and overseeing Apple TV+'s "Strange Planet" and Fox's "Krapopolis." But it's been a rocky road to success for Harmon, who was previously kicked off his own show before being rehired, and in 2018 had to publicly apologize for his prior mistreatment of "Community" writer Megan Ganz — and those are just a couple of examples of the man's controversies. Despite these debacles, however, Harmon has been an entertainment mainstay for well over a decade at this point, and during that time he's not only managed to create several of his own successful shows, but he's also apparently been fairly influential in perhaps the biggest Hollywood success story of the modern era: the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway may be closing up shop, as Tatiana Maslany, who played Jennifer Walters on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, isn’t quite sure if the series will be returning for a second season.
When asked by Codenames Live! — The New Class (via Deadline) if She-Hulk would be returning for a second season, Maslany showed serious doubts. “I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.’” That’s a pretty direct statement for someone who expanded her fanbase significantly through the show. Perhaps she, like Jennifer Walters, is great at controlling her anger? Or Maslany just might be realistic. Does the studio really want to invest that much money into a single season? As for the budget She-Hulk, some reports put it around $225 million, which is the same as The Avengers. Ok, so that’s not quite The Rings of Power...

Tatiana Maslany, star of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, doesn’t think a second season of the Marvel series is going to happen.
During a recent interview, Maslany explained the reason as to why she thinks the Disney+ show will not be coming back.
“I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks,'” Maslany said during an appearance on Codenames Live! — The New Class on Twitch.
In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Maslany starred as Jennifer Walters, an attorney who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases. The nine-episode first season focused on Walters navigating her life as a single woman who is also a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.
Guest appearances from the MCU in the first season included Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong, as well as Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga,...

For my money, "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" is one of the better Marvel Cinematic Universe series to release on Disney+ so far. Like so many other recent MCU titles, you can tell the show suffered from a combination of having to service the greater MCU mythology and the House of Ideas' chaotic approach to film and TV production. Despite all that and only being allowed one hand on the steering wheel, "She-Hulk" head writer Jessica Gao and her fellow creatives still managed to craft a funny and frisky superhero sitcom -- one that even honored its source material's meta ethos with a clever finale that saw Jennifer Walters (a winsome Tatiana Maslany) playfully stick it to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige. Well, a robotic version of him, anyway.
Unfortunately, with Marvel Studios now in the process of overhauling its approach to developing streaming series, that means any previous MCU shows...

Rideback Rise, the nonprofit content accelerator announced last summer by Rideback producer Dan Lin to help level the playing field for Bipoc creators, has revealed its inaugural cohort.
Six Fellows will each receive a $50,000 grant, while 10 Residents will each receive $10,000 in funding to develop their own film and television projects, which they will own and be free to set up or sell anywhere. The Fellows also have access to an Intellectual Property Fund to help them obtain rights to material as well as a Visuals Fund to help them create high-quality presentations and sizzle reels to pitch their projects. Rise is supported by a growing mix of private and institutional donors, led by the Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation and Doris Duke Foundation.
During the yearlong program, Rise seeks to foster a community among the inaugural cohort of Fellows and Rise, encouraging them to learn about and provide feedback on one another’s projects.

Marvel Studios is in trouble. The once-mightiest franchise in Hollywood has recently seen a string of box office disappointments, TV shows with poor viewership, and poorer critical receptions. One of the lowest points was "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law." The show was a mess, from its story to its humor, and most of all its VFX. Its meta-humor may have allowed it to poke fun at the problems plaguing Marvel Studios at large with a fourth wall break, but it did nothing to actually fix those problems.
In a new report by Variety about the many issues Marvel is facing, the recent firing of top exec Victoria Alonso is brought up. According to the report, Alonso was a scapegoat for a lack of oversight on script development for Marvel projects. We've known about the VFX crunch plaguing Marvel and how many of its movies are still being written during post-production for a while,...

"Daredevil: Born Again" is in big trouble. The highly anticipated Marvel Studios show, which promises to bring back The Devil of Hell's Kitchen (and supposedly also Punisher), is undergoing a huge revamp. According to The Hollywood Reporter, less than half of the show's 18 episodes had been shot by the time "Born Again" paused production during the writers' strike, but the footage available made Kevin Feige and other Marvel executives reconsider the entire project.
And so, late last month, Marvel quietly fired head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman and let go of the directors for the remaining episodes while they head back to square one. Marvel is now looking for new writers and directors. According to THR, Ord and Corman's take was more of "a legal procedural that did not resemble the Netflix version, known for its action and violence." What's more, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock doesn't even show...

It didn’t take long to see the problem after Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again paused production in mid-June during the writers strike. Fewer than half of the series’ 18 episodes had been shot, but it was enough for Marvel executives, including chief Kevin Feige, to review the footage and come away with a clear-eyed assessment: The show wasn’t working.
So, in late September, Marvel quietly let go of head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman and also released the directors for the remainder of the season as part of a significant creative reboot of the series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The studio is now on the hunt for new writers and directors for the project, which stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer turned superhero.

On July 3, GQ.com rolled out a hot-take story titled “How Warner Bros. That version, too, vanished not long after, leaving readers puzzled.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania launching Phase 5 of the MCU this weekend, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is ready to spill the beans about the future of his money-printing superhero franchise. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige commented on what’s to come, saying there’s room for adjustments to the formula as things progress.
Kang the Conqueror
While talking about Jonathan Majors’s Kang the Conqueror, Feige says the actor’s performance in The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a significant reason why Marvel hired him to play the next major villain in the MCU. “Peyton Reed was a proponent of Jonathan’s from the very start. We knew we were casting him for at least Loki season 1 and Quantumania at the same time. Working with both the Loki team and Peyton and the Quantumania team, we thought Jonathan would be incredible for their different incarnations of those characters.

The comic writer for She-Hulk is claiming that the Disney+ version is accurate. That sounds about right since Dan Slott has written for She-Hulk comics for a while. The only issue now is that the series’s writing didn’t translate well. If the accuracy is spot-on, then it needs saying: Slott and Jessica Gao set this series up for the failure to come. Ice Cube says he lost a prime starring role, along with a 9 million paycheck, over his refusal to get the Covid vaccine.
The musician/actor made the statements Tuesday on the “Million Dollaz Worth Of Game” podcast, remarking that he had given up a starring role alongside Jack Black in an intended-for-theaters Sony comedy over his unwillingness to get the shot.
“I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the motherfucking jab,” Cube said. “I turned down 9 million. I didn’t want get the jab. Fuck that jab. Fuck ya’ll for trying to make me get it. I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”

Ice Cube has confirmed that he exited Oh Hell No, a Sony comedy in which he would have starred opposite Jack Black, after refusing to comply with a requirement that he be vaccinated against Covid-19.
“I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the motherf-cking jab. I turned down 9 million because I didn’t want to get the jab,” he said during an episode of the podcast Million Dollaz Worth of Game published on Monday. “F-ck that jab, and f-ck y’all for trying to make me get it. So, I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”
Ice Cube then went on to clarify that he didn’t actually “turn down” the acting job and the paycheck accompanying it, instead being forced out of the project when he declined to get vaccinated. “Those motherf-ckers didn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot.

Kevin Feige could have looked look a Sentinel from The Matrix, and not a machine in your ophthalmologist’s office, based on newly revealed concept art for the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season finale.
Midway through what was shaping up to be a “messy” finale showdown, Jen Walters (played by Tatiana Maslany) escaped through the Disney+ menu screen, confronted She-Hulk‘s writers on the Disney lot, and then marched off to meet with the revered K.E.V.I.N., a “giant A.I. brain” whose name stands for “Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus.”

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige helped put “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” director Kat Coiro’s mind at ease when it came to filming that finale episode.
The “Marry Me” movie-maker told The Hollywood Reporter how she was worried about filming such an unconventional ending to a Marvel show. However, Feige and other bosses told her not to fret.
The episode, titled “Whose Show Is This?”, saw Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) smash the fourth wall, using the Disney+ platform to wind up at Marvel Studios, where she discussed how the season should end with a robotic AI named K.E.V.I.N.

"She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" quickly became one of the most interesting Marvel Cinematic Universe titles. No, it is not the best, but it brings a lot of new and fascinating things to the franchise, from its humor to its sex-positive attitude that we've never seen in the franchise before. Plus, let's not forget how it expanded the Marvel universe in ways that more accurately reflect the comic book world it is inspired by, even if they didn't have a huge impact on the MCU at large.
Indeed, the meta humor alone was a beacon of light in a franchise that was getting stale in its style of humor. Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters constantly looked at the camera and poked fun at the conventions of a Marvel show in hilarious ways, even if the show still followed most of those conventions. Still, the low stakes, bigger focus on slice-of-life, mundane problems,...

The season one finale of "She-Hulk" features an unorthodox twist. Instead of facing her foes in a brutal smash-fest, She-Hulk, aka Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), breaks the fourth wall - literally - and bursts through the Disney+ menu to talk with K.E.V.I.N., a sentient robot that controls the MCU (and a comedic take on actual Marvel head Kevin Feige). The pair argue about storytelling, the McU's Disney+ series' endings, and whose show it really is.
Maslany tells Popsugar that when showrunner Jessica Gao first told her this idea for the finale, she wondered if the head honchos at Marvel would let them do it. "But I think that's why I loved it so much," she says. "It felt so innately 'She-Hulk.' And it also felt very Jessica Gao. It also felt very female. . . . To see the system for what it is and to be able...

Spoiler Alert: reading further will reveal a key plot point in the season finale of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”.
The first season of Marvel’s “She-Hulk” concluded last week, containing the big revelation of yet another Hulk — this one a baby named Skaar.
The season finale also boasted a very unconventional ending for a project set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) didn’t smash a foe, but instead smashed the fourth wall, using the Disney+ platform to wind up at Marvel Studios, where she discussed how the season should end with a robotic AI named K.E.V.I.N.
Anyone guessing that was a not-too-subtle nod to Marvel’s president and chief creative officer Kevin Feige can take a seat at the front of the class, and in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter the series’ head writer and executive producer, Jessica Gao,...

Thanks to “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” we now know two things for sure: Captain America fuuuuuu–s, and She-Hulk smashes (Matt Murdock). And while Kevin Feige may have been ready and willing to reveal the first of those things, She-Hulk’s sex life was a bit more taboo for Marvel. But, according to the women involved, it was always going to be spotlighted, one way or another.
Marvel fans have long mourned the fact that, despite having an entire universe full of adults, the MCU rarely, if ever, shows those adults having sexual relations. Many were excited for the possibility of that changing with last year’s “Eternals.” But, when Cersei and Ikaris’ moment arrived, it was very PG and very short-lived.
Now, we have “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” streaming in its entirety on Disney+. And in this series, Jennifer Walters not only has a sex life, but has an active sex life.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law head writer and EP Jessica Gao is grateful that Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige encouraged her and her writers room to flip the script on the typical Marvel ending. Instead of a CG showdown with a baddie, Jen Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) smashed the fourth wall and used the Disney+ interface to end up at Marvel Studios where she debated the show’s ending with a Kevin Feige-inspired AI named K.E.V.I.N.
Gao wrote at least 20 different versions of the finale episode, all of which featured a more conventional Marvel ending, but Feige ultimately freed her of that thinking.

Director Kat Coiro Made Sure The She-Hulk Finale Shot At The Real Marvel Studios Offices [Exclusive]
Throughout the course of "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law," Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters constantly broke the fourth wall to address her adoring public, just as her comic book counterpart did in the pages of Marvel Comics many years ago. But in the season 1 finale of the latest Marvel Studios series on Disney+, Jen wasn't just yelling at her writers for the decisions they were making in her story. Shulkie broke out of the House of Mouse's streamer and marched right into the writers' room to confront showrunner Jessica Gao and her team face to face. And when they didn't give her the answers she was looking for, the Jade Giantess headed to the House of Ideas' offices to confront the man in charge. Of course, she was met by a very different K.E.V.I.N. than she was expecting.

It's fitting that "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" ends on a dramatically novel note unlike anything Marvel has tried before. The fourth-wall-breaking series builds up to a teased high-spectacle battle between She-Hulk, Titania, the Abomination, and the Hulk, before Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) takes over and, in her wink-to-the-audience fashion, cancels the fight. Instead she gets meta with it, charging into Marvel Studios' writer's room and making her way to Marvel's supposed She-Hulk shot-caller, the AI-powered robot K.E.V.I.N., a humorous stand-in for real-life Marvel head Kevin Feige.
The series originally had a much more traditional finale, with head writer Jessica Gao penning multiple versions of a finale and concluding with a "big villain fight, big finale" ending. Kevin Feige himself intervened and convinced her that the series was different from everything Marvel's done, and therefore it could get away with the more novel ending. In a new /Film interview,...

The latest MCU series has now come to a close with the ninth episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. After trolls began trashing the series from the first trailer, series creator Jessica Gao and director/producer Kat Coiro were confident that the series would find an audience. With the longest run of episodes yet, She-Hulk upended all expectations with its finale which showcased new characters, new directions for the MCU, and one of the most surprising twists Marvel Studios has had yet.

From the moment that Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) publicly transforms into She-Hulk, she has to deal with trolls.
Marvel’s “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” immediately and irreverently leans in to social media and toxic masculinity, to the obsession with women’s bodies and existence that seems to relentlessly haunt men online.
“When the show first came out, I was getting these really awful, mean, troll messages,” recalls series director Kat Coiro in a post-finale Zoom interview with IndieWire. “Just terrible things, ‘You should die’ and awful words — and as the series has progressed, that has started to go away, because we address the trolls. The trolls are the villains. I think these people realize that when they are doing [that], they’re playing right into our hands.”
“We always knew we were going to come under attack because that’s what happens to women in this world and this ethos,” she added.

There’s a simple reason why Madisynn King, She-Hulk‘s breakout original character, didn’t deliver a crowd-pleasing encore in the Disney+ series’ season finale.

Breaking the fourth wall in fiction is always a huge risk. It blurs the line between the story and reality and can completely ruin the suspension of disbelief necessary for a lot of genres, but when it's done right, it can be a fun way to comment on the very nature of storytelling. In the recent finale of "She-Hulk," Jennifer Walters doesn't just break the fourth wall in a "Deadpool" or "Malcolm in the Middle"-esque turn to camera, she actually crawls her way out of the screen and into the Disney+ app interface, then goes on a journey to find the people in charge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's a little more than your basic fourth-wall break, and it was truly intimidating for the episode's director, Kat Coiro.

To say that "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" ended on a surprising note would be an understatement. Marvel finales and third acts have a tendency to be very hit-or-miss, more often than not devolving into a messy CGI spectacle that loses sight of its emotional groundwork. So when She-Hulk, Titania, the Abomination, and even the Hulk himself found themselves gearing up for battle, it seemed like this series would be no exception — but then the writers swerved right off that predetermined route and into the unexpected.

[This story contains spoilers for the season one finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.]
In the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, misogynistic billionaire Todd Phelps (Jon Bass) is revealed to be the story’s true villain.
He’s HulkKing — the creator behind Intelligencia, an online community of disenfranchised men and web trolls hellbent on hating Jen Walters (Tatiana Maslany), or She-Hulk. Fueled by their disdain for a woman in power, Intelligencia wants to publicly defame Jen, but more importantly, they’re out to steal her blood in order to take her Hulk powers.
Following the show’s final episode, Bass applauded head writer Jessica Gao for how the storyline navigates the action and the comedy, while also tackling issues like misogyny and sexism.
“It’s fortunate to be a part of something that is so funny and so on the nose, without hitting you over the head with it,” Bass tells The Hollywood Reporter.

For many years, we’ve all been under the illusion that Kevin Feige was the man running Marvel Studios. But, according to the season finale of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” Kevin Feige is actually K.E.V.I.N., an artificial intelligence bot. The show wasn’t always planned to end that way, though.
In the episode, now streaming on Disney+, we find Jennifer Walters back at Emil Blonsky’s retreat, hoping to escape from the havoc that Intelligencia wreaked on her life. As it turns out, Intelligencia is having their own retreat at the lodge, with Abomination as a guest speaker. Naturally, all hell breaks loose when Jen stumbles into their meeting, interrupts Todd on stage — because, as many people guessed, he was HulkKing — and is informed that he stole her blood to give himself Hulk powers.
But before things can get too crazy, Jen herself stops the action...

Spoilers for "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" follow.
From its first episode, "She-Hulk" presented itself as something different in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I know what you're thinking: every new MCU project purports to be the one that's going to shake things up. "She-Hulk" may not alter much outside of Jennifer Walters' (Tatiana Maslany) world, but that's part of what makes it so great.
The stakes are low for an MCU outing to be sure, but the personal stakes for Jen are quite high. She needs to balance the monster within, her career, and perhaps the most difficult piece of the puzzle: modern romance. Seriously, Intelligencia or even K.E.V.I.N. have nothing on navigating the perilous waters of online dating.
Complaints of the MCU sticking to its formula have been prevalent throughout much of Phase Four. Even "WandaVision," which broke the mold for most of its run, was...

Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law kicked off its season finale with a cold open that uncannily recreated the opening credits for TV’s The Incredible Hulk, which ran for five seasons on CBS and starred Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.
Part of the reason the homage was so retro-perfect was because actual elements from the original series were incorporated into the filmmaking process.

This article contains major spoilers for "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's newest Disney+ series "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" aired its finale this week, and its fourth wall-shattering ending has cemented the show as one of the McU's boldest departures from the status quo so far. Just when it seemed the show was about to devolve into a third act smackdown of laser beams and explosions, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Manslany) takes control of her own narrative, literally.
When all of her friends, family, and enemies have a tense, unexpected gathering in Emil Blonsky's (Tim Roth) cabin, Jennifer notices that this show is starting to really jump the shark. She glances at the camera, "Are you guys into this?" Eventually, she even leaps out of the Disney+ home screen and into our reality, heading to Marvel Studios to speak to the writers room as well as K.E.V.
