Back in September, the first image from the horror film Don’t Move was unveiled. That’s the image above, which doesn’t show us anything other than the fact that the movie stars Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more about Don’t Move soon, though, because Variety reports that the worldwide distribution rights to the film have been acquired by the Netflix streaming service. A release date has not yet been announced.
Don’t Move is being produced by genre legend Sam Raimi. Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who directed episodes of the Raimi-produced anthology series 50 States of Fright, directed the film from a screenplay written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, who previously wrote the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders and the recent creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children. This film follows a seasoned killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent.

Netflix has taken worldwide rights on the horror-thriller “Don’t Move,” a new genre entry from producer Sam Raimi.
The project is led by Kelsey Asbille, breakout on the FX anthology series “Fargo” and “Yellowstone,” alongside frequent Ryan Murphy player and “The Big Short’ star Finn Wittrock.
It follows a seasoned serial killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent while the two of them are isolated deep in the forest. As the agent gradually takes over her body, she must run, hide, and fight for her life before her entire nervous system shuts down.
Filmmaking team Brian Netto and Adam Schindler directed the film, having previously delivered the Quibi serial “50 States of Fright.” T.J. Cimfel and David White of “Intruders” wrote the script.

Director Egor Abramenko gave a new twist to the creature feature in 2020’s Sputnik. He’s now set to take on biblical terror in God’s Country, marking his American directorial debut. Deadline reports that Bodies Bodies Bodies star Maria Bakalova will lead the Matt Reeves-produced genre pic.
God’s Country will follow “a young woman who travels to Kentucky to meet her fiancé, subsequently uncovering something sinister beyond comprehension, as her American dream curdles into a nightmare of biblical proportions.”
Will Soodik (“Westworld”) wrote the script.
Bakalova takes over for Melissa Barrera, who reportedly exited the role due scheduling conflicts. God’s Country is set to go into production in Romania under a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement in March. Barrera was announced to lead the project in February earlier this year, where her character was described as a Salvadoran woman.

Paramount Network’s Yellowstone is the most-watched show across all of television, so it makes sense that the first image from the horror film Don’t Move promotes the fact that Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille is in the movie. Actually, that’s pretty much all it promotes, because the image (which was first seen on Variety) just shows a close-up of Asbille’s face. You can take a look at it at the bottom of this article.

Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Skonieczny is set to go into production on the feature film “Wrooklyn Zoo.”
“Wrooklyn Zoo” is a modern retelling of William Shakespeare’s classic “Romeo and Juliet” in which Romeo, a skilled skateboarder, finds himself captivated by Julia, a Romani girl seeking to emancipate herself from her environment. Their love becomes a powerful force that transcends cultural and societal barriers, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
Skonieczny is known for directing the critically acclaimed HBO drama series “Blinded by the Lights,” which launched on HBO Europe in 2018, becoming the platform’s third most watched show in the region. The show debuted in the U.S. in 2019 — a rarity at the time for European HBO programming.
The film’s ensemble cast combines recognized Polish actors, Romani performers and professional skateboarders.
The pic is produced by Olga Bibik and Krzysztof Skonieczny of glebokiOFF, together with Alicja Grawon-Jaksik as the associate producer.

Gerard Butler thriller had been bought by Lionsgate last year for US, UK other markets.
Lionsgate has pulled out as distributor of forthcoming Gerard Butler thriller The Plane because producers were unable to secure production insurance covering a coronavirus outbreak.
The move highlights one of the big challenges currently facing US producers and distributors, who have found pandemic insurance all but impossible to come by. Attempts to get the US government to provide an insurance backstop scheme have so far come to nothing.
Lionsgate took rights to the film for North America, the UK and other territories at last year’s AFM.

Lionsgate has withdrawn from plans to distribute the upcoming Gerard Butler thriller “The Plane” because the producers were unable to obtain production insurance for the film that would cover a Covid-19 outbreak, according to an individual with knowledge of the situation.
Lionsgate had boarded the film a year ago at the American Film Market (AFM), picking up distribution rights for territories that included North America, Latin America, the U.K., and India.
Butler was set to star as commercial pilot Ray Torrance, who after a heroic job of successfully landing his storm-damaged aircraft in a war zone, finds himself caught between the agendas of multiple militias that plan to take the plane and its passengers hostage. As the world’s authorities and media search for the disappeared aircraft, the pilot must rise to the occasion and keep his passengers safe long enough for help to arrive.

Exclusive: In a development that will chill those roaming the halls of the virtual American Film Market and putting film deals together, Lionsgate has exited The Plane, the Christian Gudegast-directed action film set to star Gerard Butler. Lionsgate took a big chunk of the world, landing rights in North America, Latin America, the UK and India.

Exclusive: The Sara Colangelo-directed What Is Life Worth has commenced principal photography in New York with new additions to the ensemble cast. As Deadline has previously reported, Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci star in the true-life biographical drama. Newly boarding are Oscar nominee Amy Ryan, Talia Balsam and Tate Donovan.
The Black List script from Max Borenstein is based on Kenneth Feinberg’s memoir. Feinberg, a powerful DC insider lawyer, was put in charge of the 9/11 Fund. In almost three years of pro bono work on the case, he fought off the cynicism, bureaucracy and politics associated with administering government funds to victims’ families — and in doing so, discovered what life is worth.
Ryan, who was last seen in Beautiful Boy and has Late Night coming in June, is repped by Gersh. Divorce and Mad Men‘s Balsam, and Donovan are also repped by Gersh. Laura Benanti,...

Netflix has released the trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the Joe Berlinger-directed pic about Ted Bundy that stars Zac Efron as the serial killer. The film, penned by Michael Werwie, takes on the Bundy story from the perspective of his girlfriend Liz Kendall (Lily Collins), who refused to believe the truth about him for years.
This was a big Sundance Film Festival buy for Netflix, which scooped up U.S. rights to the pic in Park City for a reported $9 million. The streaming service will bow the film May 3 both in select theaters and online.
Kaya Scodelario, Jeffrey Donovan, Angela Sarafyan, Dylan Baker, Brian Geraghty, Terry Kinney, Haley Joel Osment, James Hetfield Grace, Victoria Cox, Jim Parsons and John Malkovich also star in the mass murderer chronicle, which is based on Kendall’s memoir The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy.

Netflix unveiled a new trailer for “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” the Ted Bundy biopic starring Zac Efron, on Tuesday and announced a release of May 3 for when the film will be available on the streamer and in select theaters.
After begging thirsty people on Twitter to stop calling Ted Bundy “hot,” Netflix has further scaled back some of the snappy, light-hearted tone of the original trailer, which was released ahead of its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
“This is all going to end,” Efron’s Bundy says solemnly in the trailer. “It’s all going to end with the truth,” Lily Collins replies to him during prison visit.
