Marvel’s Fantastic Four has lived through several iterations. In 1994, the first ambitious Fantastic Four life-action was made starring Alex Hyde-White, Rebecca Staab, and Jay Underwood, with Joseph Culp playing Doctor Doom. However, the movie was never released. While the Chris Evans-starrer Fantastic Four movie series was popular among fans, there was an attempt from Fox to reboot the franchise in 2015 with a roster of a talented cast.

Michael B. Jordan, who starred in 2015’s Fantastic Four, recently teased that he might appear in Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Certainly, the movie has stacked an astonishing amount of surprises. Despite the release of a teaser and a trailer, the movie has managed to keep fans at bay with rumors and speculations.

Few Marvel characters are more qualified to traverse the space-time continuum — and tell a few meta jokes at its expense — than Deadpool. The Merc with a Mouth is notoriously averse to the constraints of reality, and that's just one of the many reasons why his big-screen adventures have been so much fun. Fox's "Deadpool" films have toyed with the anti-hero's wanton fourth wall breaking, nonlinear storytelling style, and affinity for time travel in delightfully irreverent fashion. It's allowed star and producer Ryan Reynolds the opportunity to poke fun at aspects of his career that fans have tried to forget, but it also gives audiences the chance to laugh at some of the silliest parts of the superhero industrial complex.
With the advent of Marvel's multiverse, Deadpool's exploits have only gotten more ambitious. Still, there are some choices too weird to make it to the final cut. The team behind the...

Before David Leitch was hired to replace Tim Miller as the director of Deadpool 2, Miller, who directed the first one, was planning his version of the sequel. Miller ultimately ended up parting ways with Fox on the film due to creative differences.
We now have more of an idea of what Miller was planning, and those plans included bringing Fantastic Four’s The Thing into the story! While appearing on the Fourth Wall podcast, Miller revealed a few details about his scrapped Deadpool sequel.
In regards to The Thing, he would have shown up in the epic climactic final battle with The Juggernaut. That would have certainly been a crazy cool plot twist! I think fans would have flipped over it, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
Concept artist Alexander Lozano previously shared some concept art that he whipped up for Miller that included all the members of the Fantastic Four.

It’s no secret that the McU is searching for just the right role to cast Keanu Reeves in. McU President Kevin Feige recently told comicbook that Reeves is in talks with them for every movie they make, so we are all just waiting to see where he will pop up, especially as with the latest slate of films announced there are a lot of options. Until we hear the official news, we are all just fancasting him where we want to see him, including Marvel artist Alexander Lozano, who recently posted some fan art to his Facebook page.
Lozano first shared a drawing of Reeves as Namor, the Sub-Mariner who is rumored to possibly be the villain in the next Black Panther movie. Next up is Reeves as the beloved Wolverine. I think he would be such a badass Wolverine! That would be my fan pick! Check out the pictures below,...

I’ve got a great series of geek culture art to share with you that are made out of paper. These were created by John Ed De Vera and he uses a 3 dimensional cut paper stacking technique to create them.
Some of the art you’ll find here features Stan Lee, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Daenerys, the creature from The Shape of Water, a few Pokemon, and more. As you’ll see, they all turned out wonderfully.
John Ed De Vera is a multidisciplinary designer, with a penchant for lettering, paper-cutting, and experimenting with different and new media. His philosophy of creativity has so far led to finding new ways to push and innovate his craft, unafraid of learning new things and twisting them in his very own creative way.
Check out several pieces of art below and let us know what you think!

Had director Tim Miller stayed on as the director of Deadpool 2, it looks like we might have seen more Marvel characters show up other than the X-Men! Miller was planning on including the most recent film versions of the Fantastic Four. Concept artist Alexander Lozano recently shared some artwork that he did for the film featuring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, and Kate Mara in their respective roles. Of course, he planned on giving the costumes a much different look.
It would have been interesting to see how Miller would have incorporated these characters into the film, but I imagine it would have included some comedic jabs at how bad the 2015 Fantastic Four movie was. I can see how this would have been fun to include, unfortunately when Miller left the project, so did his idea of including the Fantastic Four.
Would you have liked to see the Fantastic Four...

“Deadpool 2” features its fair share of cameos — the reveal of who actually played the Vanisher was a moment unto itself, as was a brief glimpse of who’s in the X-Mansion — but at least one didn’t make final cut. Tim Miller, who directed the first film and was eventually replaced on the sequel by David Leitch, wanted to give the Fantastic Four some screentime in a climactic fight against the Juggernaut.
The intel was revealed by concept artist Alexander Lozano, who shared a picture of the Thing on Instagram. According to him, Miller “wanted to make sure that I orient myself in the design as close as possible to the comic template to finally give us, the fans, what we always wanted to see on the big screen.”

Deadpool 2 was packed with fan-pleasing easter eggs and cameos, with the most obvious being the first appearance of X-Men villain Juggernaut since 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. It turns out that the Merc with a Mouth’s sequel could have also found room for the Fantastic Four as well though, if original director Tim Miller had stuck with the project and not been replaced by David Leitch.
Though we never got to see a Fantastic Four/Deadpool crossover, even on the extended Super Duper Cut home video release, these awesome pieces of concept art seen down below reveal how the characters might’ve appeared. Marvel artist Alexander Lozano shared the work on Instagram, along with some information about how Miller envisioned the heroes.

While the Merc with a Mouth has frequently joked about the lack of big-name mutants in his movies, the truth is that the Deadpool series still has a pretty generous range of gifted and colorful characters to choose from, to the point that at least one noteworthy figure initially planned for Deadpool 2 couldn’t even make the final cut.
That character is one Blaquesmith, a mole-like mutant who often features in the comics as an ally to Cable in their dystopian future. Had the film’s initial director Tim Miller not departed from the project, Blaquesmith may have played an important role in the action of Deadpool 2, albeit looking a lot more human than his comic book equivalent.
In these early stages of the production, before Atomic Blonde director David Leitch stepped in, storyboard artist Alexander Lozano came up with some designs for the character, which he’s now made viewable on Instagram.

Alexander Lozano’s Deadpool 2 showcase continues today with a sneak peek at a heavy-duty Cable.
This is the third of five media dumps, as earlier this week brought forth stunning new artwork of Juggernaut and Domino from Tim Miller’s original draft, though history tells us that David Leitch was ultimately the director who took point for Deadpool‘s second solo adventure.
Be that as it may, this artwork from Lozano, which was originally shared through Instagram, reveals a totally different look for Nathan Summers, the time-traveling freedom fighter who journeys back to the past in the hope of stopping Russell Collins (Aka Firefist) from murdering his family.
His mission draws the ire of Wade Wilson, who forms a “super-duper fucking group” known as the X-Force to stop Cable in his tracks, eventually leading to the sequel’s explosive finale. But as Lozano’s concept art clearly shows, Tim...

Domino was one of two high-profile additions to the Deadpool 2 ensemble (the other being Nathan Summers/Cable), and you simply can’t fault Zazie Beetz’s performance as the walking, talking good-luck charm.
Originally designed as an X-Force member, Beetz’s character is among the few shortlisted for Drew Goddard’s mooted team-up movie (providing it moves forward), though our latest Deadpool 2 tidbit isn’t so much concerned with the future of Domino as it is with the past – specifically, Tim Miller’s initial pitch for the comic book sequel, which seemingly included a totally different take on the muscle-bound Juggernaut.
And that’s not all; as revealed by concept artist Alexander Lozano (h/t ComicBook.com), the Powers That Be originally wanted a hooded costume for Domino replete with heavy-duty firepower that wouldn’t look out of place in the video game series Metal Gear Solid. Sniper Wolf,...

Juggernaut was always supposed to feature during Deadpool 2, that much we know, but his appearance was almost tailored to suit Tim Miller’s vision, not David Leitch’s.
Before the latter decided to follow up Atomic Blonde with Deadpool 2, Tim Miller was expected to return at the helm for what was, essentially, the Merc’s second solo adventure. Alas, James Cameron and The Terminator reboot came calling, and even to this day, Miller’s vision for the comic book sequel remains shrouded in mystery.
But thanks to concept artist Alexander Lozano (h/t Heroic Hollywood), we now have a better understanding of how Tim Miller envisioned Juggernaut, the muscle-bound mutant capable of giving Colossus a run for his money. Spoilers: it’s decidedly different from the super-sized wrecking ball glimpsed during Deadpool 2‘s finale (and voiced by Ryan Reynolds), as the rugged armor brings to mind Vinnie Jones...

In case you hadn’t heard, Marvel are going ahead with their next big initiative in but a few months, relaunching many of their marquee titles under the “Fresh Start” banner. No doubt capitalizing on some of this year’s biggest blockbuster films, we’ve already learned that books such as Avengers, Venom, Thor and Black Panther will be rolling back to #1 in order to provide accessible jumping on points, to name but a few.
Of course, it was only a matter of time before the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s golden boy joined the party, once again being granted his own series in the form of Tony Stark: Iron Man. Introspective as it sounds – and it probably will be – it makes sense to actually put Tony’s name in the title and begin anew because we’ve seen the likes of Riri Williams and even Victor Von Doom under the helmet in recent years.

This piece of concept art for Captain America: Civil War comes from artist Alexander Lozano, and it’s pretty damn insane. It features Captain America and Iron Man pretty much tearing each other apart with their bare hands. The artist says:

He definitely captures the brutality that these two heroes unleash on each other in the film. Civil War hits theaters on May 6th!

A year on, Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is looked back on as arguably one of the minor mid-tier entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Expectations were sky high following both the commercial and critical success of the first "The Avengers" that reviews for the ambitious but flawed follow-up were understandably more muted.
At the time of release, Whedon himself made headlines for talking fairly candidly about his exhaustion and arguments with the Marvel higher-ups, one of the big reasons he handed the creative reins of the "Avengers" films over to the Russo brothers for the next one. At a Q&A with Mark Ruffalo at the Tribeca Film Festival this week (via EW), Whedon addressed the current perceptions of the film's quality and his public misgivings with the end result:

We’ve previously posted concept art showing alternate character designs for Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the Deadpool movie, which were cool. Now concept artist Alexander Lozano has released a few images that show us a very different take on Colossus, and it makes you happy that director Tim Miller went with the look that they did in the film. I don’t like this alternate take on the character at all. What we saw in the film was the comic book version fans always wanted to see. In case you were wondering what in the hell the artist was thinking when he came up with this, here is an explanation:
"Before the 'final design' was found, I tried a few different ways. At that point of time, I didn't know if Colossus was planned as a 'walking around in bright daylight' character or more of a 'hide in the shadows'...

Though metal mutant, Colossus, had appeared in previous X-Men movies, fans were not that pleased with the interpretation of the character (as played by Daniel Cudmore) and hoped to see a more comic-accurate take in Tim Miller’s Deadpool.
Thankfully, that’s exactly what they got, as the all-cgi character looked and sounded a lot more like he should have, and almost stole the show from Wade Wilson.
Now, artist Alexander Lozano has posted some early Colossus concept designs to his Facebook page, and it turns out the titanium tough guy was going to look quite a bit different at one point. The hood is probably the most radical departure from his final look, and Lozano explains the logic behind that below:

Fans were delighted that they finally got a comic-accurate depiction of Colossus in Tim Miller's Deadpool, but the design for the Russian powerhouse was a little different at one point. The basic look was always pretty much the same, but artist Alexander Lozano toyed with the idea of putting the character under a hood. You can find out why below, where you can also check out some of the various designs that were considered. "Before the 'final design' was found, I tried a few different ways. At that point of time, I didn't know if Colossus was planned as a 'walking around in bright daylight' character or more of a 'hide in the shadows' hero like in the old X-Men days. So I played around with a Darth Maul-hoodie and the idea to place the 'X' very subtle on his chest with the endings of his scarf. I also...

Cyclops #2
Written by Greg Rucka
Art by Russell Dauterman & Colors by Chris Sotomayor. Standard Cover by Alexander Lozano
Published by Marvel Comics
Picking up where the previous issue left off, Cyclops #2 finds the titular hero learning the ropes of space piracy from his dad, Corsair. Together, they journey to the planet Yrzt, described as “space Las Vegas”, where Cyclops makes a friend, Corsair visits an old buddy, and they get into a fight with a group of bounty hunters. All standard material, but the little details help the material sing.
Writer Greg Rucka continues to have a strong handle on Cyclops’ voice, striking the right note of awe at his fantastic surroundings and glee at getting to know his father while staying true to the pragmatic, taciturn character X-Fans have been reading about for decades. This issue hints at the creation of a supporting cast for the book, with the introduction of Baroque,...

Despite being created in 1963 and having been a stalwart member of the X-Men for most of the intervening fifty plus years, this is the first time Cyclops (aka Scott Summers) has ever received his own ongoing series. Much of what defines the character – his taciturn nature, his strong leadership abilities, his devotion to Professor Xavier’s dream of peaceful co-existence between man and mutant – works best (or at all) when placed in a group setting, able to be compared and contrasted with the other X-Men. This series aims to sidestep that issue by taking advantage of the character’s current unique status quo: there are actually two Cyclops running around the Marvel Universe, the “real”, present day one, and a teenaged version, plucked...
