Kyle Riabko's latest album, Richard Rodgers Reimagined, was inspired by a fan letter Rodgers had written to Burt Bacharach. No doubt, Riabko became privy to this letter while working on Close To You Bacharach Reimagined, a show Riabko garnered international acclaim for. Now, back in the United States, Ribako deftly explores another icon of American music, creatively reinterpreting Rodgers' classics through how own energetic poprock aesthetic.

The stars give us the inside scoop on what’s going down with your favorite West Bev couples tonight!
It’s been the most dramatic season of 90210 yet, so it’s only natural that months worth of tension should come to a boil at the biggest event of the year — prom! And while we can happily report that no two girls will be wearing the same dress (though I’d love another Brenda vs. Kelly-style battle) we can confirm there will be several major developments on tonight’s episode: One couple will be heading for the altar, while another might be heading for splits-ville!
The proposal:
As crazy as it may sound, one West Bev couple will be changing its status from “in a relationship to “engaged” after tonight’s episode. And unless you’ve managed to avoid all spoilers, you already know who it is: Miz Ivy Sullivan (Gillian Zinser...

Naomi’s brainy boy toy lays out the couple’s future — the good, the bad, and the ’stupid!’
As Naomi’s (AnnaLynne McCord) nerdy new man on 90210, Max (Josh Zuckerman) is more than just “the Don Juan of the geek world.” He also tells HollywoodLife.com he hopes to “inspire bespectacled people out there to find a hotter girlfriend.” And ‘hot’ is definitely the word I’d use to describe what Max and Naomi have planned for the April 18 spring break episode.
“There are a lot of shenanigans, as spring break usually entails,” Josh tells us. “It’s certainly the lustful, playful period of Naomi and Max’s relationship.”
But the honeymoon period doesn’t last long. Josh says Naomi and Max hit a major bump in their relationship at West Bev’s most highly anticipated event: Prom!
“There’s a betrayal of a unique kind,” Josh reveals. “One that comes out of care.

Freddie Smith
Twenty-two-year old actor Freddie Smith moved to Hollywood three and a half years ago in search of his big break as an actor. That break finally came late last year when he was cast as Marco, Teddy’s new love interest on The CW drama 90210.
As fans of the show already know, poor Teddy (Trevor Donovan) has previously had his heart broken by Ian (Kyle Riabko) and will have it broken again later this month by Tripp (Alan Ritchson) before Marco finally gets his crack at winning Teddy’s love and making him a happy gay man at last.
Which means Marco might just be the guy who sticks around for a while, giving viewers a chance to get to know his character a little bit better than Teddy’s previous love interests.

Before we get to this week's 90210 shenanigan's, I need to address a couple of serious issues from last week. First up, some folks questioned the ... taste of the title for last week's recap "Watch Out For My Fuzzy Balls!" Here are AfterElton.com we pride ourselves on doing thoughtful, credible journalism and that even extends to our recaps.
With that in mind, I reflected on that feedback and wish to say the following:
Hey, sometimes you just have to let your gay twelve-year-old boy out!
On a separate note, Teddy might not be getting a lot of screentime again, but the show certainly has introduced a number of new gay characters that might one day make it onto our Greatest Gay Character list. Speaking of the show's new gay characters, I've been working on setting up an interview with Freddie Smith who will play Teddy's new love interest Marco.

***Spoiler Warning*** This post discusses major plot points for as yet unaired episodes of 90210. Please stop reading if you don't want to know more.
Last week saw 90210's Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan) left alone and bereft after discovering that Ian (Kyle Riabko) had pretended to blackmail Teddy in order to get him out of the closet.
While still in the closet, Teddy had been quite the heterosexual player but as we learned over the past couple of episodes, Teddy is really a romantic at heart and wants nothing so much as a boyfriend. And he's going to get one named Marco (Freddie Smith) in an upcoming episode. (But first Teddy has to pay for having been a player by getting played himself during a spring break fling. On the upside, he gets played by Alan Ritchson.)
Actors Trevor Donovan ("Teddy") and Freddie Smith ("Marco")
So will poor Teddy ever find any measure of happiness?...

HollywoodNews.com: Don’t keep reading this if you don’t want to know what happened between Teddy and Ian on Monday’s episode of ‘90210′ (I posted the clips yesterday).
I want to register my extreme disappointment over how the writers on the show handled the abrupt end of this sweet gay high school romance.
We knew that since the actor who plays Ian (Kyle Riabko) wanted off the show, the character was not going to appear in episodes past February. It’s a pity he wasn’t committed at least for the season because Ian and Teddy and made such slow but steady progress together in the five minutes they were given in any given episode.
Well, this week they got more than five minutes and the episode had Teddy coming out to all his friends at West Beverly High. His ex-girlfriend Silver figured it out...

Teddy finally comes out on tonight’s ‘90210,’ but not without a little drama! Trevor gives us the scoop!
After 14 episodes, Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan) is finally coming out to his friends 90210’s Feb. 7 episode, titled “About A Boy.” But Trevor tells HollywoodLife.com the celebration will be short-lived, as Teddy’s life is about to get a lot more complicated. Trevor admits his first same-sex kiss was “nerve-wracking,” but adds that it’s “becoming easier” — which is good, because Teddy will spend the rest of the season playing tonsil tennis with a slew of Beverly Hills bachelors. Read on for all the scoop!
Teddy & Ian’s break-up: ‘Teddy puts his foot back in the closet!’
We’ve known for a while that Ian’s (Kyle Riabko) enrollment at West Bev was temporary, so I hope you’re prepared to say goodbye tonight! Ian does “betray” Teddy, which ultimately leads to their split,...

Do You think Mr. Cannon is really gone for good? I’m not holding my breath…
After more than a month away from 90210, the Jan. 24 episode reminded me just how complicated this show is! Girls cheating on boyfriends with brothers, rapists jumping out of closets… where does the madness end? Fortunately it doesn’t, and that’s why I’m thrilled this show is back in my life.
In my rundown of this week’s major plot lines, I’m going to start with the most interesting… and end with whatever Ivy was up to.

We waited for more than a month for Mr. Cannon to emerge from Naomi’s (AnnaLynne McCord) closet… and emerge he did! He held Naomi and Silver (Jessica Stroup) at knifepoint, tied them to chairs, and forced them to retract their rape accusations on camera. Fortunately it didn’t take...

"90210" returns to the CW tonight with an action-packed episode centered around Naomi's (AnnaLynne McCord) confrontation with her rapist, Mr. Cannon -- but elsewhere, Teddy (Trevor Donovan) is experiencing a very different kind of personal nightmare.
Dixon (Tristan Wilds) stumbled across Teddy kissing another guy, Ian (Kyle Riabko) at the recent holiday party... and Teddy isn't quite ready to be out and proud yet. Zap2it recently chatted with Trevor Donovan about Teddy's very private struggle gone public.
"There's the initial obvious shock, and Dixon does confront Teddy about it," Donovan tells us. Luckily, Dixon can be trusted. "Teddy pleads with him, on a friendship level, to just not say anything and to let him kind of come out at his own pace. Dixon's a good guy, and he does keep his mouth shut for has long as he can."

Trevor Donovan will get one "Smallville" alum as his next fling on "90210". TV Line has recently broken the news that Alan Ritchson, the actor playing Aquaman on the Tom Welling-starring series, has been cast as Tripp, a former prep school roommate and secret crush of Trevor's Teddy.
The hook-up between Teddy and Tripp, accordingly, will unravel on the 18th episode when the former roommates meet during Spring Break. While Tripp recalls Teddy's reputation as a ladykiller, Teddy comes out to his former friend. It is said that the two will somehow engage in an unexpected lip-lock that leads to a surprising reveal.
Alan won't be the only hot guy Trevor romancing in season three. Newcomer Freddie Smith has been brought in to replace Kyle Riabko as Teddy's new love interest, Marco. His character has been described as "athletic, friendly and openly gay." The actor himself is expected make his...

It's raining men in Beverly Hills. In a striking turn of events, Marco (played by Freddie Smith) won't be the first rebound after Kyle Riabko's Ian leaves "90210" and Teddy (Trevor Donovan) in the lurch.

By now pretty much everyone knows that actor Kyle Riabko who plays Teddy's current love interest Ian is leaving the show to pursue other acting opportunities.

Well forget about Marco. If he is a love interest, he won't be a serious one. At least not right away. Looks like Teddy's romantic life won't really heat up again until episode 318 (airing sometime in March).
Teddy, Silver and the rest of the gang head off to Cabo San Lucas for Spring Break, and Teddy runs into his handsome and preppy former Exeter Academy roommate, Tripp Wallison.

So What Makes A Man Sexy? Besides Editing A Website, Of Course! Wait, That Isn't Sexy?
This week Ae reader Miz Liz started a forum topic titled What's Your Idea of Sexy? Since our readers are not at all interested in matters of the flesh, hardly anyone had any thoughts on the subject.
Right, and John McCain is actually a decent human being.
Actually folks had a lot of thoughtful things to say and got me thinking about what I find sexy. Basically, it's a number of different things that can be combined in a multitude of ways to get all sorts of various kinds of sexy. But what are those "things?" I've broken them down into the five categories that matter the most for me.

Let's face it, us men we are pretty visual creatures, and for most of us sexy starts at the surface. Which isn't to say it's all about looks,...

Don't make plans for a Teddy/Ian wedding just yet, 90210 fans. In fact, don't even order this pair a limo for the prom.
Indeed, 90210 may have concluded its most recent episode with these two making out, but that doesn't mean there's a long-term future for Tan.
In fact, Freddie Smith has been cast as Marco, a confirmed new love interest for Teddy. He'll debut in February and take over for Kyle Riabko, who is leaving the show for good.
The CW casting notice describes Marco as "athletic, friendly and openly gay."
Smith, meanwhile, is a newcomer. He appeared in a 2008 episode of Medium as the character of... Senior Boy. What do you think of this casting/upcoming storyline?...

Before we get to this week's recap, there are a couple of pieces of business to take care of this week. First up, some folks felt last week's recap didn't give sufficient credit to the kiss between Teddy and Ian. And perhaps I was so annoyed with the show that by the time we got to the kiss, I gave it short shrift in terms of credit. So to remedy that, I hereby give you Teddy and Ian macking on each other.
And let the record show, I thought it was a very good kiss and that both Trevor Donovan and Kyle Riabko are doing very good things with their roles. Just to be clear, I've never had an issue with either character or actor. Both are perfectly fine if neither is hugely groundbreaking. My issue has just been with the lack of screentime and character development.
As for those...

"90210," you did it again. We loved Adrianna's men-deer, but we felt a bit bad for the little people playing the elves. We loved that Teddy has given into his crush on Ian, but we hate that Ivy got so much screen time. We hate Ivy, but we love that we were right about her deadbeat dad. We hate that there won't be any new episodes until Jan. 24, 2011, but we love to hate "90210" for the uh-mazing cliffhangers.
Teddy and Ian: We tend to agree with Ian (played by Kyle Riabko) that dating someone in the closet could be interpreted as a step back for someone who has been proudly out for several years, but it's Teddy (Trevor Donovan)! And to invoke Naomi's catchphrase in this episode: "But, he's so hot." So, of course, we have to approve of Ian's decision to throw caution to the wind and get some Teddy kisses in the stairwell.

Yes, that was an episode of "90210" and not just an infomercial for cell phones. We won't say the company, but if you watched, then you already know. How could you miss it? Plus, we're not getting a paycheck from them.
Between the cell phone product placements, we saw some sparks fly between some new couplings while other romances are fizzling.
Naomi wipes out: There was some déjà vu going on with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) as she once again pretended to be something she was not (in this case, a rad surfer) to get a guy. But when it came to catching a wave, she lost the guy and ended up looking like she got a nose job. Some socialites never learn.
Debbie does restrooms: Ryan (Ryan Eggold) and Debbie (Lori Loughlin) tried to pretend they aren't into each other after doing the dirty on the kitchen counter in the last episode.

There might not have been a new episode of 90210 last night for me to recap, but that doesn't mean I'm going to leave everyone high and dry! In fact, I've been doing some more digging and have scoop about what's in store for Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan).
As previously reported, next week's episode sees Teddy and Ian (Kyle Riabko) share their first kiss aside from their drunken hook up. While there aren't many details known about what happens next between them over the next few episodes, based on information from episode 315 (which should air in January), we learn:
Word gets out at school that Teddy is gay and he's teased for it. He goes through a break-up. Teddy and Silver are friends again. Teddy meets a guy named Marco...

Meanwhile, ‘90210′ continued its plan to eliminate all parents on Nov. 15 — and the latest victim was Navid’s child pornographer dad, who’s now hiding out in Iran!
I’m starting to realize how these kids are able to get away with so many racy shenanigans — they don’t have any parents! Well, that’s an exaggeration, but 90210 is slowly turning everyone at West Bev into orphans. After inadvertently snitching on him for casting underage girls in his pornos, Navid (Michael Steger) learned his dad left to hide in Iran to avoid imprisonment in the States. It’s sad… but hey, less parents means more fun. Like Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) sings so flawlessly on her No. 1 single, “Hello to good times!”
But landing his dad in deep with the fuzz wasn’t Navid’s only mistake this week. After realizing he didn’t gel with Adrianna’s “fabulous” new crowd, he...

Vincent Irizarry Sets The Record Straight About Marriage
Soaps In Depth recently ran into the Emmy winner in L.A. and asked him to set the record straight. "Yes," Irizarry confirmed to In Depth, "Avalon and I have been separated for the better part of this year and are in the process of going through a divorce. Our separation has been amicable as we continue to be friends. Our greatest priority will never cease to be the well-being of our two amazing children whom we love beyond words as parents."
Last Fall for Broadcast TV?
There’s no denying that broadcast and cable ratings have been passing each other heading in opposite directions for a decade, and it’s only a matter of time before a TNT or USA Network chalks up eight-figure deliveries.
As such, cable nets are beginning to counter-program in the fall, a strategy that was once tantamount to ratings suicide.

Not everyone can pull off this look.
I'll tell you the above photo is a cast member from Glee. And I'll tell you that it is not Mark Salling. The rest you'll have to guess. Somehow, when I saw that David Frum, who worked in President George W. Bush's White House, was talking about Halloween becoming an adult holiday thanks to gays, I expected more judgment. It's got some wild jumps of logic, but it's not anti-gay. Sarah Silverman thinks gays should pick their battles, and she's not sure the gay joke in The Dilemma is worth fighting. But she's cool if we think it is. Transgender player Mikki Nicholson has been crowned the British National Scrabble Champion, beating four time champ Mark Nyman. Her winning word was "obeisant" worth 86 points. In case you missed the What Would You Do? episode Friday night that included the gay bullying, here's the segment.

Zap2it had the pleasure of visiting the set of "90210" and we caught up with Trevor Donovan, who is acting in one of the most talked about storylines of the season: Teddy's coming out process.
"I've gotten nothing, but positive feedback," Donovan tells us of the reaction he got to the storyline. "It eerily coincides with what's going on in the nation and in the media right now, which led to the PSA I did for "It Gets Better." The tweets and the Facebook messages that I've received have been tear-jerking, heartwarming stories."
Donovan is proud to not only be playing the role in a time when we're hyperaware that anti-gay bullying can have deadly consequences, but also he's happy that the storyline is reaching kids in small towns who may not have any gay role models to turn to as they're struggling with their own sexuality.

Good things come to those who wait and for those who feel as though they've suffered through a year of largely uninspired films up to now will likely breathe a sigh of relief at the sound of names like Darren Aronofsky, Sofia Coppola and Peter Weir. 'Tis the season for Jim Carrey to take a pay cut to star in a gay romance like "I Love You Phillip Morris" or Javier Bardem is whispering sweet nothings to spirits in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarittu's "Biutiful" rather than Julia Roberts.

Trevor Donovan as Teddy Montgomery
Judging from the interest in our 90210 recaps, folks are pretty darn interested in Teddy Montgomery's (Trevor Donovan) coming out journey. Just as The CW promised, his storyline has been well told thus far and has proceeded at a steady if leisurely pace.
Last week saw Teddy apologize for calling Ian (Kyle Riabko) a "faggot," but reacting quite negatively when Ian told him he understood what he was going through and would be there for him if he wanted to talk. In fact, in an attempt to reassert his masculinity, Teddy went to bed with a female student, but was unable to perform.
So what's next for Teddy?
This coming Monday's episode "How Much is That Liam in the Window" doesn't appear to have much in store for Teddy, but the following week he's getting along well...

90210 star Trevor Donovan has claimed that his character's recent coming out storyline will last for a long time. Speaking to the New York Post, Donovan explained that Teddy lashed out at Ian (Kyle Riabko) recently because he is still coming to terms with his sexuality. "The thing with Teddy, and I think it's very true to real life, is that he's so confused," he said. "So much in denial and not knowing how to deal with these emotions. So he acts out. "Teddy will continue to struggle before he comes to the realisation of who he is and Ian will be very supportive of that... He knows exactly where I'm coming from, so he's patient and understanding and as their 'relationship' develops, eventually Ian's the one Teddy confides in. It does take (more)...

It's not a ratings stunt.
That's what Trevor Donovan wants everyone to know about his character's sexuality on 90210, as producers made it clear over the summer that Teddy would reveal himself to be gay this season.
"It's true to real life, it's happening at a pace I think it would actually happen and it's going to unfold very realistically, very heartfelt," the actor told TV Guide, making it clear he didn't want the development to take place as a "quick ratings boost."
Viewers have already learned that Teddy drunkenly hooked up with Kyle Riabko's Ian, only to remain in such denial over it that he screamed at the character last week, referring to him as a "fagot."
Expect more outbursts from Teddy as he goes through this "internal" battle, Donovan says.
"He's battling with himself. He's creating his own problems and... there's going to be a lot of external...

How would You feel if a former fling told you he was gay? For 90210’s Adrianna, it’ll strengthen her relationship with Teddy!
The halls of West Beverly Hills High are rife with scandal, and this time all eyes are on Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan), the superstar athlete/ladykiller… who’s finally discovering he isn’t into ladies at all! While we’re not sure how ex-girlfriend Silver (Jessica Stroup) is going to react to Teddy, Jessica Lowndes tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Adrianna will be behind him 100 percent. “Adrianna is going to be very understanding,” Jessica tells us. “She went through it last year and her biggest fear was people not accepting her. She’d be the last person to judge.”
Jessica is, of course, referring to her character’s blink-and-you-missed-it lesbian relationship with Rumer Willis‘ Gia last season. But whereas that relationship fizzled out...
