As MoviePass and MoviePass Films comes under the Moviefone umbrella, the Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc. subsidiary has tapped former Rotten Tomatoes Senior Editor, Grae Drake, as “Ms. Moviefone” to become their leading brand personality. The announcement comes as Moviefone emerges as a new venture and premier destination for content, reviews and commentary.
As the new face of Moviefone, Drake will engage with the film community by interviewing filmmakers and celebrities, and she’ll appear at industry events to provide an inside look at the movies. Drake will be responsible for producing and hosting a series of new original video content that will live on the Moviefone site. She will also oversee the evolution of existing video content, such as the well-known “Unscripted” series, providing Moviefone with the flexibility to continue creating and growing its video library.

Former Rotten Tomatoes editor Matt Atchity has landed a new gig as General Manager of Moviefone, the movie listings service acquired in April by MoviePass parent company Helios and Matheson Analytics.
Atchity reported the development on Twitter. According the New York Post, Atchity has been brought aboard with the mission of creating “a larger ecosystem of connected moviegoers.”
Atchity worked at Rotten Tomatoes from 2007 to 2017, overseeing the site during years of significant change, including multiple changes in ownership. He left the movie review aggregator in 2017 to become head of programming for The Young Turks, overseeing the network’s growth and audience development for its video content. It isn’t clear when he left Tyt, but the network recently slashed its staff, letting at least 15 people go in August.

The ratings aren't in yet for the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere, but it's safe to say they will be higher than the red comet of Season 2. Every season premiere has improved in audience size, but the same cannot be said of the audience reaction. After all, you don't know whether you like an episode or not until after you contribute to its viewer tally.
Many critics and fans responded immediately, and the early Season 6 premiere verdict is in: It was good, but not great.
On Monday, Rotten Tomatoes reported that Season 6, Episode 1, "The Red Woman" is certified fresh with an 81 percent score. Matt Atchity, editor-in-chief of Rotten Tomatoes, shared this statement:
"The long-awaited 6th season of Game of Thrones has mostly satisfied critics. As the series has outpaced the novels, book readers no longer have the luxury of knowing major plot points ahead of time. Most critics say that...

Disney’s newest animated film, “Zootopia,” currently holds a score of 100 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. A perfect score may not sound extraordinary, but when it is based on more than 75 reviews, that’s actually “pretty rare.” “ reviews at 100 percent is very unusual,” Rotten Tomatoes Editor-in-Chief Matt Atchity told TheWrap. “‘Zootopia’ could be on that road to breaking records.” According to Atchity, the current record holders on the site are “Toy Story 2” (163 reviews, 100 percent), “Man on Wire” (154 reviews, 100 percent), “Finding Nemo” (251 reviews, 98 percent) and “Inside Out” (304 reviews, 98 percent). San Diego (AP) - There's a Hulk-sized hole at Comic-Con this year. Three of the major studios and Disney/Marvel are not hosting a panel in the main hall at the annual fan festival. That means no Iron Man, no Captain America, and no Spider-Man - at least their filmed versions.
Going back to 2010, Marvel has been a main event at Comic-Con, with their Disney properties usually serving as the marquis presentations. With a slate that extends through 2019, a film currently in production ("Captain America: Civil War") and another coming out next week ("Ant-Man"), it seems like an odd choice.
Their absence in the San Diego Convention Center's huge Hall H is not only dispiriting to fans, it's also a subtle sign that the 45-year-old pop-culture extravaganza has become less relevant to the shifting marketing strategies of the major studios.
