Liam Gallagher performed — via video — of his new holiday-inspired song “All You’re Dreaming Of” from atop a barge on Friday’s The Tonight Show.
The performance served as a preview for Gallagher’s “Down by the River Thames” streaming special, premiering Saturday, December 5th. Liam Gallagher has released the new single, “All You’re Dreaming Of.” He cowrote the holiday-inspired track with longtime collaborator Simon Aldred and Miike Snow’s Andrew Wyatt produced the song.
Strings and horns usher in the tender ballad before a piano melody buoys Gallagher’s vocals. “Oh what are you dreaming of/Is it the kind of love/That’ll be there when the world is at its worst,” he sings on the chorus. “That’ll cover you in kisses unrehearsed/When you’re losing ground still tell you...

Music videos have long been a proving ground for some of the most innovative filmmaking ideas. Sometimes those breakthroughs come as stylistic flourishes. Other times, it means breaking down a simple story to its purest form.
If the 2000s were the decade when music videos embraced the internet, the 2010s were left to reckon with what the internet became. Over 10 years when viral moments were valuable cultural currency, some videos seemed perfectly tailor-made to create them. Whether manufactured to become a sensation or becoming so by pure chance, music videos embraced the weird spirit and sobering reality of the overall trajectory of the decade.
So, acknowledging that winnowing down all that time and creativity to 25 picks is going to inevitably leave out some worthy contributions, here’s our attempt at highlighting the best of what the art form had to offer:
25. Rob Cantor — “Shia Labeouf (Live)” (dir. Scott Uhlfelder)

In 2011, Nick Zinner, guitarist of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, wrote 41 Strings, a four-part symphony to mark Earth Day. He’s since performed the piece around the world, including London’s Meltdown Festival and Australia’s Sydney Opera House with musicians like the xx’s Romy Madley Croft and Savages’ Gemma Thompson. The orchestral piece – which is built to reflect the change of fall, winter, spring and summer – has also made it to TV: the “spring” portion of the piece is currently the theme music for HBO’s Vice.

Edinburgh International Film Festival is set to begin, kicking off 2019 with Opening Gala title Boyz in the Wood on 19 June (today). The film received its World Premiere at SXSW this year, where our own J Hurtado praised the film as "one of the highlights" of the festival in his very positive review here, and now the film is heading home. Director Ninian Doff may have made his name making music videos for the likes of Run the Jewels, JJ Doom, and Miike Snow, but he was born and raised in Edinburgh, and is bringing his debut feature back for its first European screening. The film finds three troubled youths, and one bookish tag-along, getting lost in the Scottish Highlands. The situation goes from...

Music videos are descriptively rhythm-driven short films, and short films are just precursory pathways to feature filmmaking, so it shouldn’t surprise when directors bounce between mediums. Take Ninian Doff, for instance. Since it arrived last fall, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s hit duet from A Star Is Born, “Shallow,” has seemed the likely front-runner for Best Original Song at the Oscars. After winning the Golden Globe earlier this month, the song notched its Oscar nom this morning, but it’s up against some impressive competition, including first-time nominees Kendrick Lamar and Sza (Black Panther) and 10-time nominee Diane Warren (Rbg).
For Gaga, “Shallow” marks her second nomination in the Best Original Song category following 2016’s “Til It Happens to You...

Lady Gaga’s Ally Maine breaks through to a wider audience in the singer’s video for “Always Remember Us This Way,” a lighter-waving ballad from the acclaimed musical drama A Star Is Born.
The clip opens with Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine inviting a nervous Ally onstage to sing with his band. She opens modestly, crooning over stately piano chords, but crescendos in confidence – ending with soulful vocal runs as the audience applauds. The visual also incorporates snippets from the film, including the couple riding a motorcycle and writing songs together.

Four years after the release of her most recent album “I Never Learn,” Swedish songstress Lykke Li dropped two new songs, “Deep End” and “Hard Rain.” The songs are the first tracks to emerge from her long-percolating fourth album “So Sad So Sexy”. The album is due on June 8 on RCA Records — Li’s first release with the label.
“Hard Rain,” which is being promoted as the single, was produced by 2016 Grammy producer of the year Jeff Bhasker, Malay and T-Minus. “Hard Rain” was produced by Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij.
The songs mark a stylistic departure for the singer, incorporating elements of the Swedish-pop sound of her previous albums with a more hip-hop/alt-r&B-leaning production.
A rather confusing line in the press release announcing the songs reads “Prior to recording this album, Lykke was busy nurturing liv, her love-child with Andrew Wyatt, Björn Yttling, Pontus Winnberg and Jeff Bhasker,...

Christian Grey can sing?
The official soundtrack listing for Fifty Shades Freed has been released and it appears Jamie Dornan is more than just the leading man in the movie.
The 35-year-old actor's name is attached to a bonus track on the soundtrack titled "Maybe I'm Amazed."
Dornan isn't the only star apparently both acting and singing in the sequel. Rita Ora -- who portrays Christian's sister, Mia Grey, in the erotic book-turned-movies -- collaborates with Liam Payne on the song "For You (Fifty Shades Freed)," which is the second song on the soundtrack.
Other familiar artists to lend their musical skills to the movie include Sia, Julia Michaels, Dua Lipa, Jessie J, Hailee Steinfeld, Ellie Goulding, Danny Elfman and Mike Snow.
Here's a look at the complete track listing:
1. "Capital Letters" – Hailee Steinfeld x BloodPop®

William John Paul “Liam” Gallagher. Even his name sounds like a supergroup—some kind of Frankenstein’s amalgam that fuses a continuum of British rock, glass-shattering volume, and a semi-lethal Twitter account. Lord knows he’s packed an entire band’s worth of swagger into one man. Onstage at New York City’s McKittrick Hotel last July for his first American performance as a solo artist, he assumes his trademark position, arms clasped behind his parka-covered torso, crouched in a perpetual stare-down with an audience. He’s flanked by a banner that spells out not his name, but might as well be: “Rock ‘N’ Roll.

Yoko Ono released the music video for her single “Catman,” a new remix of her 1973 song created with the help of Miike Snow. The video is directed by actress Rose McGowan and according to Rolling Stone, represents solidarity among women of all ages and the joys of movement.
“Yoko Ono has been an ardent supporter of women and modern dance for years,” McGowan said. “Casting women dancers over 60, including one with cancer, was my way of showing that vitality doesn’t die with age. I used color overlays to create my own visual beat.”
The video shows a young woman in a black unitard with a cat-like face mask dancing around a room of older women. Upon seeing her dance, the sullen women then get up and dance around the girl.

Crssd Festival has announced the lineup for the second half of its bi-annual event, following up on the spring chapter from earlier this year. Though a relatively new festival, Crssd has quickly established itself as a hotbed for house and techno, and the lineup for its fall edition shows no signs of slowing down.
Crssd has secured some impressive headliners for their second event in 2016, grabbing up DJs like Zhu, Thomas Jack, Miike Snow, Bonobo, Maya Jane Coles, and Claptone. The supporting cast of performers is equally enticing, with major talent like Cashmere Cat, Malaa, Destructo, AC Slater, Sam Feldt and Bakermat scheduled to play.
The two day festival is set to go down this fall on October 1 and 2, returning to Waterfront Park in San Diego. In addition to the musical festivities, Crssd will again host a number of beer and food vendors.

Miike Snow's "Genghis Khan" has been my musical addiction as of late. First off, how many popular songs do you hear that use tyrannical rulers in their chorus? Second, the music video is an homage to classic Bond films with a healthy mix of musical dance numbers! In the video, the villain enters a personal struggle as to whether or not he should destroy his arch nemesis. Things get more complicated, but I won't spoil it for you! Even if you aren't the biggest fan of his music (I wasn't until this song), check it out!

If there’s one group in Edm whose name is synonymous with “happy music” it’s Galantis. The Swedish duo, made up of Christian Karlsson from Miike Snow, and Linus Eklöw aka Style of Eye, burst onto the scene seemingly out of nowhere in 2014 with massive singles like “Runaway (U&I),” “You” and “Smile.”
A self-titled Ep which followed soon after, along with performances at some of the world’s biggest festivals, put Galantis on the fast track to the A-list. And if 2014 was their breakout year, then 2015 was the year that the boys showed the world that they were here to stay.
Their debut album, Pharmacy, was a massive hit when it dropped last Spring, tearing up the Billboard charts and giving us a handful of well-produced, infectious tracks that we’re still listening to on repeat.

Ultra Music Festival just dropped a massive phase 1 lineup for 2016, and we’re absolutely speechless. Seriously, where do we even begin here? The return of Pendulum? The 9 stages? The perfect balance between mainstream and underground music? There’s so much to like about this lineup and once again, Ultra has hit it out of the park.
More so than ever, the festival is really showing a push for diversity, with artists like Chet Faker, Tycho and Miike Snow all grabbing headliner spots alongside the big guns like Kaskade, Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren etc. It’s great to see and has us hopeful for a phase 2 lineup that’s just as eclectic and varied.
Take a look at the ridiculously impressive roster of artists below and let us know in the comments section if you’ll be attending Ultra Miami this year.

So far, the Song of Summer contenders include Taylor Swift's chart-topper, Fetty Wap's twisted love song, and Walk the Moon's year-old dance command, but nothing for alt-rock fans. Enter Beck. Now that he's an Album of the Year Grammy winner, Beck has gone and done the only thing Beck would do and made an album that sounds nothing like the album that won him said Grammy. Or at least that's what "Dreams," the first single from his yet-to-be-named follow-up to 2014's Morning Phase, suggests. Rather than build on the pensive acid trip of that album, Beck's back to being fun again — which means 2015 Beck sounds a lot like Beck circa Guero. The song's co-produced by Sia fave Greg Kurstin and co-written by Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt, making for a booming bona fide hit usually outside of Beck's purview. Call it the Kanye effect.

To celebrate its twentieth year, Vice rented out the Brooklyn Navy Yard's Duggal Greenhouse on Friday night for the kind of hybrid, manic, alien-like show that only the media brand can conjure. It was concert roulette for three straight hours, and the bearded, beanie-wearing Brooklynites in attendance soaked it right up. Just before 11 p.m., the house band — Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner, Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt, Gorillaz's Pauli Psm and The Raconteurs' Jack Lawrence — took the stage with "semi-official emcee and host" Andrew Wk, who performed his hit "Party Hard" and offered

On Friday night in Brooklyn, Vice is throwing a party to celebrate its 20th anniversary. These sorts of shindigs happen from time to time. Less common: the event's sprawling lineup. This evening, Yeah Yeah Yeah's guitarist Nick Zinner, who will be part of the night's house band along with Raconteurs' bassist Jack Lawrence, Miike Snow singer-guitarist Andrew Wyatt, and Damon Albarn's drummer Pauli Psm, posted the event's roster on Twitter. Try to make sense of this: - Noted rap enthusiast Jonah Hill is performing with Spike Jonze. We're told he may be covering Drake songs. - Jarvis Cocker - Pussy Riot - Karen O - Stephen Malkmus - Lil Wayne - Chromeo - Andrew Wk - Raekwon - Action Bronson - Ghostface Killah - Nick Thorburn - A punk supergroup featuring members of Fucked Up and Dillinger Escape Plan, among others. - A metal supergroup featuring members of Megadeth and Testament,...

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars visited Saturday Night Live last night to debut their new track "Uptown Funk," and the duo – backed by a powerful horn section, a quartet of backup singers and a surprise guest – used their Chic-infused single to turn the SNL stage into a smoky, funky dance club.
The highly stylized performance was reminiscent of the duo's recent "Uptown Funk" video and the Morris Day and the Time sequences in Purple Rain. The venue in which Mars and Ronson were playing, on one of the most...

Exactly one year ago today, we got news that Jay-z was hosting a special music festival in Philadelphia with the likes of Drake, Pearl Jam, Run-dmc, Skrillex, Rick Ross, Miike Snow, Odd Future and Janelle Monáe taking the stage with Hova himself. Normally, we would just think that's cool and not write about it, but in this case, director Ron Howard was shooting a documentary about Jay-z called Made in America, that would follow that musician as he put the event together and prepared to perform. Now the first trailer for the documentary which will premiere on Showtime after debuting at Tiff 2013. Watch now! Here's the first trailer for Ron Howard's Made in America from Showtime: Made in America is directed by Ron Howard and captures the inaugural edition of an exciting new festival created by rapper and impresario Jay Z, which rocked Philadelphia over Labor Day weekend last year.

Thomas Gold knows his way around a remix, having reworked original productions from Lady Gaga, Adele, Miike Snow and many others to the great enjoyment of partygoers all around the world. His newest edit, debuting exclusively on HuffPost Entertainment and available for free download, might just be his best yet.
A bold re-imagining of OneRepublic's "Feel Again," this remix does what the best dance edits do: provide space for a building beat that works with -- not against -- the original vocals and wrapping everything up in a euphoric drop that actually sounds like happiness.
"It's been a great pleasure to get my remix hands on this track," Gold told HuffPost. "I really like what OneRepublic are doing and I immediately loved the track when I heard it first. It's one of those songs you can instantly sing along to and the vocal has this little 'something.' I instantly...

The Knockout Rounds have, by far, been the most exciting portion of The Voice this season. Since this is a new feature of the show, I don't have any experiences from my season to compare. However, I did notice some very uncomfortable situations for the contestants: having to sit onstage as their opponents slaughtered them vocally (I saw a few contestants shoot daggers. If looks could kill…).
And to make matters worse, the contestants that are waiting in the wings for their moment of glory are forced to watch the massacre on a flat screen backstage (I would've been sweating like a fourteen year old boy and simultaneously throwing up my lunch on their very polished floors). I also realized that a few songs are Very popular on The Voice and witnessed certain contestants have some pretty magical moments. I compiled my musings…

When news of the arrests of the feminist punk collective riot Pussy Riot hit the mainstream, singer, filmmaker and activist Peaches was less than impressed with the response from some of the bigger acts in music.
"I felt like there were a lot of celebrities who were actually touring in Russia, so it was kind of like 'Oh God! I'm touring in Russia. I better write something,'" Peaches tells The Huffington Post Canada, clearly referencing Madonna.
At the same time, Peaches was inspired by the actions of underground artists and activists who were actually doing something to help the three women, Nadezdha Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich, who were on trial for hooliganism after performing a "punk prayer" against President Vladimir Putin in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

"I'ma up at Brooklyn, now I'm down in Tribeca/Right next to De Niro, but I'll be hood forever," Jay-z raps on "Empire State Of Mind" and certainly the man who grew up in the Marcy Houses is rolling in a new area code, with some considerably more upper crust friends. And while this pairing still seems sort of odd, Shawn Carter is able to grab this kind of talent these days. This Labor Day weekend, you will be able to find Ron Howard at the "Budweiser Made In America" music festival where he'll be making a documentary of some kind about Jay-z. The festival, which the rapper is headlining, also features a random batch of acts including Pearl Jam, Run-dmc, Drake, Skrillex, Rick Ross, Odd Future, Janelle Monáe and Miike Snow, with the inclusion of the latter Swedish electronic musician indicating that "Made In America" is something that's not...
