In a local TV interview, former President Donald Trump revealed a list of four people he is considering as vice presidential candidates.
In an interview with News 12 News Jersey, following his campaign rally in The Bronx, New York, political reporter, Tara Rosenblum asked if Trump was considering former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who declared last week that she would vote for him in the 2024 presidential election.
“A big night last night, Nikki Haley making her first public remarks since dropping out of the race,” the reporter asked. “She said that Joe Biden has been a catastrophe, and she’s voting for you. I’m sure those were welcome remarks for you, but they also left a lot of people wondering if there is room for her on your team or, better yet, your ticket.”

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) has now been banned from the territories of all nine tribes in her state.
In February, the Oglala Sioux tribe banned Noem from the Pine Ridge Reservation after she stated she wanted to send razor wire and security personnel to Texas to help keep migrants out of the U.S. She also said that cartels were infiltrating this state’s reservations.
The tribe’s president, Frank Star Comes Out, replied to the GOP South Dakota governor’s remarks in a statement addressed to her.
In response to her comments linking tribal leaders to Mexican drug cartels, three more tribes banned her – the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
In early May, the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe, the fifth tribe that banned the governor located in the northeast part of South Dakota, decided as a result of statements and actions by Noem,...

On Saturday Night Live‘s cold open over the weekend, Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, auditioned fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter as his vice presidential running mate. Trump addressed a crowd outside the mock Manhattan courthouse where his hush-money trial is taking place.
“I don’t like being in court because they say very mean things about me while I am trying to sleep,” Johnson’s Trump said. The real Trump’s legal team had to find ways to keep the former president awake during his New York trial.
The former president spoke about the trial from the barricades outside the courthouse, referred to as “Trump’s new home,” and thanked the crowd for visiting him at his “cage at the zoo.”

The 49th season finale of “Saturday Night Live” opened with James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump speaking at the barricades of a Manhattan courthouse, in a nod to Trump’s ongoing legal woes amid his presidential campaign.
During the sketch, Johnson as Trump spoke about his “weird and depressing” state at the courthouse, saying, “I don’t like being in court because they say very mean things about me as I’m trying to sleep.” (It was reported that Trump fell asleep in court during proceedings.) He goes on to say, “Now that my defense is supposed to begin on Monday, I would love to testify; I’m not afraid to testify at all, I’m just not going to out of fear.”
He continues to say how he doesn’t want to go back to the White House, “But it appears people want to send me there.” Johnson’s...

The season 49 finale of Saturday Night Live opened with Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) making an assessment of his potential running mates, who ranged from the boot-licking to the face-eating.
Among those who showed face were South Carolina Senator Tim Scott (Devon Walker) and embattled South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (Heidi Gardner), who arrived holding a stuffed dog at gunpoint. Most notable, however, was Hannibal Lecter, played by a wide-eyed Michael Longfellow who was rolled into frame on a dolly while masked and straitjacketed like in the Oscar-winning film. During the Saturday Night Live monologue, Jake Gyllenhaal seemed to be trying to convince himself that he was Ok with hosting the season 49 finale, rather than the season 50 premiere.
“When you think of historic television seasons, the first number that pops into your head is 49,” Gyllenhaal said. “I mean, sure, you know, one more episode and I would have been hosting the premiere of the 50th season, but who cares?”
The Road House actor later broke out in song to the tune of Boyz II Men’s “End Of The Road,” listing off all the people the sketch comedy series asked to host the season finale before Gyllenhaal.
“You know, I was actually SNL‘s first choice to host the finale after a lot of people said no,” he joked. “I guess they’re all holding out for the 50th but not me.”

James Austin Johnson’s Donald Trump returned to “Saturday Night Live” for one more appearance this season, with the cold open spoofing one of Trump’s many rants outside his criminal fraud trial. And, during this particular press conference, he ran through his shortlist for VP — from Kristi Noem to Hannibal Lecter.
To kick off his speech, the fake Trump noted that he was coming to viewers live from “my cage at the zoo,” speaking behind the barricades outside the courthouse. Naturally, he acknowledged the gag order put on him, though he complained that it “sounds like a challenge on RuPaul” more than anything else.
After following suit of the real Trump and complaining about how unfair the trial is to him, the fake Trump brought out his “short bus,” er, short list of VP candidates, though he caveated that the actual choice would be “determined by the winner of the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight.

Antony Starr’s Homelander has always been a favorite antagonist of fans despite him being an egoistical sadistic narcissist prone to the most heinous crimes one can do. As Martin, 28, accompanied Trump to the race, she showcased her chic style and close proximity to the former president. Martin shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her adventure with Trump on Instagram, a post captioned “F1 with boss.”
The images show Martin and the Trump side by side, with broad smiles, next to the racetrack. This display of camaraderie and proximity to the former president has only further publically solidified Martin’s status within Trump’s inner circle.
An Oklahoma native, Martin began her journey as a White House press assistant and steadily climbed the ranks. Martin’s striking features have drawn comparisons to another prominent figure in Trump’s orbit – Melania Trump, the former first lady and fashion model.

Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s new book is facing yet another controversy over her claim that she canceled a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron after his comments about the Israel-Hamas war. The French government has now officially denied she was ever offered such a meeting.
For weeks, Noem’s memoir No Going Back has been criticized after a story that she shot her family dog in it was revealed.
The governor also said she met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un but had to retract that story when fact-checkers proved it was not true.
According to Noem’s book, “While in Paris, I was slated to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. However, the day before we were to meet he made what I considered a very pro-Hamas and anti-Israel comment to the press. So, I decided to cancel.”

South Dakota GOP Gov. Kristi Noem sparked controversy for detailing the killing of her farm dog, Cricket, in her new memoir No Going Back. In the book, Noem claims she shot the 14-month-old wirehaired pointer because she was “untrainable.” Noem said she also shot her goat on the same day due to behavior issues. Noem was met with outrage on social media.
In an interview with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan on Sunday, Noem suggested President Joe Biden‘s dog, Commander, should’ve met the same fate. Commander, a German shepherd, was involved in 24 biting incidents between October 2022 and July 2023. The dog was removed from the White House.

Dua Lipa knows how to bring the party. And apparently it runs in the genes. While making her “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut last night, the award-winning pop star acknowledged how she’d made her television debut in the same building eight years ago and gave a special shoutout to her parents — who were in the audience cheering her on — telling a story about an unlikely run-in she had with her folks one night.
“As you can see,” she said, “they’re kind of cool. They love to party. One night, I was out with my friends and we ended up at the club at three o’clock in the morning and who do I bump into but my parents. Which is embarrassing, cause the last thing you want to see when you’re super high and drunk-off-your-ass is your daughter.”
The punchline got a huge laugh, particularly from her parents up in the balcony.

“These people are running a Gestapo administration,” Trump said of Biden at the fundraiser hosted at his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida, audio of which was obtained by the Times.

Dua Lipa debuted as a guest host on Saturday Night Live and revealed her “radical optimism.”
The singer took the stage of the NBC late-night talk show on the heels of the release of her third studio album titled, Radical Optimism.
Lipa said that many people have been asking what radical optimism is, saying, “To me, it’s like looking on the bright side in any situation.”
She then asked the audience to share their problems and give examples of how she would take them on.
Andrew Dismukes played an audience member who was left by his wife after he accidentally called her mom.
“Well, on the bright side, now you’ll have more time to spend with your mom,” Dua Lipa said. “See, radical optimism.”
A second audience member, this time played by Bowen Yang, said he had gone to the doctor who advised him to stop drinking.

Donald Trump is privately trashing South Dakota’s Maga Gov. Kristi Noem for executing her puppy and writing about it in her forthcoming memoir — a matter that appears to have closed the book on the idea of selecting her as a vice presidential nominee.
During conversations with close political allies and other confidants, sources say, the former president has repeatedly brought up the incident, including as recently as in the past couple days, to criticize Noem and question her political acumen.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R) upcoming memoir, No Going Back, has generated considerable controversy before its release on May 7.
Alongside the public outcry at Noem’s written recollection of when she euthanized her dog, questions have been raised about Noem’s claim to have met North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un while she served in Congress on the House Armed Services Committee.
In her book, Noem wrote, “Through my tenure on the House Armed Services Committee, I had the chance to travel to many countries to meet with world leaders. I remember when I met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.”
As the independent newspaper The Dakota Scout reports, congressional travel documents and reliable external sources do not provide proof of these claims.
Noem continued in her book, “I’m sure he underestimated me, having no clue about my experience staring down little tyrants. Dealing with foreign leaders takes resolve,...

Stephen Colbert isn’t laying off when it comes to Kristi Noem, the U.S. governor and vice president hopeful who’s currently under fire for shooting one of her dogs and a goat. However, the CBS host is at least going to pretend to be conflicted about it.
“We here at team ‘Late Show’ have been following the tragic career suicide of South Dakota governor and Talbots mannequin you swear just blinked, Kristi Noem,” Colbert said Thursday night. Noem’s name earned a chorus of boos from the in-studio audience. “I’ll be honest, I was conflicted about whether or not I should keep talking about it because, unlike Kristi Noem, I don’t like beating a dead horse.”
Colbert then played a clip of Noem on Fox News clarifying that the dog wasn’t a puppy, but a “working dog.”
“That’s right, an important distinction. It was a working dog.

Kristi Noem has repeatedly affirmed that yes, she actually did murder her 14-month-old dog — but that doesn’t mean the South Dakota governor’s upcoming memoir, No Going Back, isn’t full of easily disprovable lies.
According to The Dakota Scout, which obtained a copy of the book, Noem claims that as a member of Congress, she met with elusive North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
“Through my tenure on the House Armed Services Committee I had the chance to travel to many countries to meet with world leaders,” Noem wrote.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem continues to fumble promoting her new memoir in which she details killing her 14-month-old dog, Cricket, by shooting it in a gravel pit.
Noem appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show Wednesday to explain why she executed the dog after excerpts of the incident sparked backlash last week. Noem said she got Cricket, a wire-haired pointer just over a year old, to use for pheasant hunting.

Here’s a political reality that seems impossible to be unaware of—although recent evidence suggests otherwise:
If you are pulling out all the stops to rise to the top of the Veep sweepstakes in your party, and you decide that the most impressive thing on your resume is your penchant for gunning down puppies, you are not only likely to destroy your chances with millions of dog-owners, you are also signing up to be the human outline at the late-night firing range.
That thoroughly perforated figure you may have come across on TV late last night was the effigy of Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakota, outspoken advocate of gun rights, and (apparently) pet cemeteries.
The story broke over the weekend: The governor, whose ardent pursuit of the second spot on the Republican ticket to Donald Trump has been widely publicized, recounts in her upcoming memoir a happy catalogue...

Noem Country for Young Dogs
So, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem murdered a puppy. Lest we here at LateNighter be accused of smearing the Republican Vice Presidential hopeful with the absolute worst thing anyone could imagine, it should be added that Noem herself bragged about killing said dog—a happy 14-month-old wirehaired pointer named Cricket—in the head after the pooch committed the apparently lethal sin of not being especially good at hunting. Oh, and since Noem was on a roll, the right-wing politician also went and fetched the family goat and dispatched that, too, impassively explaining in her forthcoming book that she then fielded her young daughter’s question, “Hey, where’s Cricket?” with, one can assume, a parent’s assurance that all creatures unable to...

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) confessed to killing her 14-month-old dog and goat in her new book, No Going Back. Noem described a moment on her farm when she felt she had to shoot her female dog Cricket because she was “less than worthless” and “untrainable.”
“It was not a pleasant job, but it had to be done. And after it was over, I realized another unpleasant job needed to be done,” her book detailed.
Noem explained that Cricket, who intended to be a hunting dog, ruined a pheasant hunt by going “out of her mind, chasing all those birds and having the time of her life.” Cricket also allegedly ate several of Noem’s chickens on the farm.
Noem led the dog to a gravel pit with her gun and fatally shot the dog. Afterward, Noem decided she also had to kill the family goat, who was “nasty and mean.

Joe Biden got in a few zingers at his rival Donald Trump, but he devoted a large part of his remarks to the serious threat to democracy.
“Donald has had a few tough days lately. You might call it stormy weather,” Biden quipped, referencing Trump’s current hush money trial.
The president also riffed on reports that Trump dozed off during his trial, calling him “sleepy Don.”
“Trump’s speech was so embarrassing, the statue of Robert E. Lee surrendered again,” he said.
The president, though, devoted a large chunk to his speech to warning of the threat to the democracy and the press’s role in a free society.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem admitted to killing her dog in a new memoir. By confessing, she may also have killed her chance at national office.
Backlash has been fierce to the revelations in her new book, No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward. Noem is among those rumored to be in contention for Donald Trump’s Vice President pick in the 2024 election.
After obtaining a copy of the book ahead of its publication next month, the UK’s Guardian reported that Noem wrote about the time she shot dead Cricket, a 14-month-old dog she intended to train for hunting pheasant.
Noem said she took the action after the dog ruined a hunt, killed another family’s chickens, and moved to bite her.

The council’s press release expressed its disappointment with Noem’s actions as governor. “Governor Noem claims she wants to establish meaningful relationships with Tribes to provide solutions for systemic problems,” it said. “However, her actions as Governor blatantly show otherwise.”
The statement continued, “Her disingenuous nature towards Native Americans to further her federal political ambitions is an attack on Tribal sovereignty that the Rosebud Sioux Tribe will not tolerate.”

A story that was widely shared by conservative politicos and right-wing media has been retracted by its publisher, the Daily Caller.
The piece claimed that the Biden administration banned religious-themed Easter eggs from a contest at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. Donald Trump appeared at a rally hosted by super Pac Buckeye Values in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday supporting Bernie Moreno, the Senate candidate vying for the GOP primary who Trump endorsed.
Moreno is competing with state Senator Matt Dolan and Secretary of State Frank Larose in the Republican primary, the winner of which will go head-to-head against Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown. Brown is one of the two Democrats (the other is Montana Democrat Jon Tester) running for reelection in red states. The two races will be pivotal in determining which party controls the Senate.

Donald Trump Jr.’s passion project, Field Ethos, is a print magazine, website, retail store and travel agency designed to bring the great outdoors back to the average American.
Founded in 2021 by Trump Jr. and business partner Jason Vincent, “the great outdoors” focused lifestyle magazine attempts to show off a rugged way of life away from the mountains of content and media being pushed out into the world. A majority of articles posted on the site describe hunting adventures, fishing encounters and culinary experiences.
Field Ethos’s branding has a simple aesthetic that appeals to hunting and globetrotting connoisseurs with the wealth and time to afford expeditions and pricey gear – even the mugs in the Field Ethos store start at $29.
While Field Ethos is not considered a political platform, the magazine’s brand does align with many right-leaning views, particularly those of hunters who tend to be more conservative.

At a town hall event held in Greenville, South Carolina, Donald Trump revealed his list of potential running mates and reaffirmed his influence within the Republican Party. In a conversation with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Trump discussed the speculated candidates on his vice presidential shortlist.
Among the names mentioned were three former GOP candidates: Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina), entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida). Trump also confirmed the inclusion of Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida), Gov. Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota) and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii).
Though a Democrat while in Congress, in 2022 Gabbard announced that she had shifted her views toward conservatism and has been a frequent guest on Fox News.
While Trump confirmed that these individuals were indeed under consideration, he did not provide a specific timeline for the announcement of his VP decision. However, he expressed confidence in their abilities with the statement,...
