Former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro was sent to federal prison for obstructing Congress in its investigation of the violent Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. But once Navarro is out of prison, there are a couple things the former Trump White House aide should expect if his former boss wins the election: a pardon, and a new job.
Over the past several months, Donald Trump has told some of his advisers and friends that federal clemency for Navarro, if Trump is back in office, is a “very good idea,...

Former President Donald Trump‘s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., visited former Trump adviser Peter Navarro in federal prison. Navarro faces a sentence of four months after he was convicted on two counts of contempt of Congress related to the January 6 investigations.
Navarro failed to provide the necessary information, including documents and testimony, to the former January 6 House committee by evading a congressional subpoena. Navarro claimed that former President Trump had asserted executive privilege to maintain confidentiality. However, no evidence of Trump invoking the privilege was ever presented.
Navarro attempted to appeal his prison sentence twice to the U.S. Supreme Court, once to Chief Justice John Roberts and again to Justice Neil Gorsuch. Both Justices denied his requests. Later, District Judge Amit Mehta sentenced Navarro to six months in prison and a fine of $600,000.
Trump Jr. claimed he visited Navarro to show support for “a good man” who was “wrongfully convicted.

Coco Gauff can't be anything but happy about how she started her 2024 season as she's set to play the 2024 Asb Classic final.
Last year, the teenage American cruised towards the trophy in Auckland without losing a single set. This year, it seems that she'll be able to achieve the same result, as now she's already in the final of the Wta 250 tournament.
Although, she reached the final without losing a set also last year, this year, her dominance is unmatched. There wasn't a single player that would get remotely close to winning a set against Gauff.
After dominantly beating Varvara Gracheva, the American took on fellow compatriot, and the fourth seed at the tournament, Emma Navarro. The 22-year-old has been in a good form, and many thought that she could challenge the 19-year-old prodigy.
However, that never happened, and it was mostly thanks to Gauff's incredible serving. In the match,...

Plot: When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

While I enjoyed the second and third seasons of Nic Pizzolatto’s anthology thriller, neither could hold a candle to the Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey-led debut. The True Detective franchise clearly needed a jump start. After a meteoric first season that revitalized the crime drama genre, it plummeted back to earth with a rightfully maligned sophomore run before returning for a middling third season in 2019. So HBO hit the reset button for the new Season 4, subtitled Night Country and premiering Sunday, Jan. 14 at 9/8c (I’ve seen all six episodes), moving the setting to chilly Alaska, putting two women in the lead roles and handing the keys to a new showrunner and director in Issa López. It was a good instinct to start fresh, and Season 4 has its moments,...

Liz Danvers, chief of police in the remote Alaska town of Ennis, and heroine of True Detective: Night Country, is fond of telling other cops they’re asking the wrong questions, prodding them over and over until they ask the right one. With Night Country, there’s only one question: Was it worth resurrecting the long-dormant True Detective franchise — and without its original creator, Nic Pizzolatto?

Written and directed by Issa López, the fourth season of HBO’s crime anthology series True Detective takes place in Ennis, a remote Alaskan town where the sun never fully rises. This is a place that seems to exist outside of time, like a purgatory at the end of the world, and it’s a perfect setting for the show’s dark and broody brand of ontological mystery.
One of those souls is Ennis police chief Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster), a once promising detective who’s been banished to this remote spot by the powers that be. And it doesn’t take us long to figure out why: Flitting between colleagues and suspects with a “fuck you” smile and a clipped insult, she seldom exits a room without leaving at least one pissed-off person in her wake.

The man convicted of killing Hollywood sex therapist Amie Harwick in February 2020 was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison Wednesday.
Gareth Pursehouse, who in September was found guilty of first-degree murder in his ex-girlfriend Harwick’s death, potentially faced the death penalty, but was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole, CBS Los Angeles reports.
As Rolling Stone reported in March 2020, a month after the Feb. 15 murder, Harwick was strangled and thrown out of her own third-floor window by Pursehouse, who she dated for a few months years earlier.

“The View” hit a bit of an awkward silence on Monday morning, after host Ana Navarro joked that the ABC show’s executive producer is a perpetrator of posting “thirst traps” online.
The moment came as the women were discussing a story about a woman who does not appreciate her husband liking other women’s photos online, and host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that it depended on what kind of photos the man was liking. If he was engaging with “thirst traps” — deliberately evocative photos posted to earn a reaction — then it would be a problem.
For Sara Haines, it was a struggle to believe that the man would be liking thirst traps, because so few people she or her husband follow would ever post thirst traps at this point, due to their age.
“What do you mean you don’t follow thirst traps, don’t you follow Brian?” Navarro joked.

Ana Navarro is concerned about what is happening at Univision after the Spanish-language network seemingly shifted their strategy to covering Donald Trump.
The political commentator and co-host of The View took to social media to air her comments on the situation and she’s taking it so seriously that she shared a video with no glam and no filters.
Navarro started off the video by giving background to Univision and gave them accolades for “being a good player for the Latino community” over the years in keeping them informed on politics. However, she raised concerns over an interview with Trump the network aired from his Mar-a-Lago residency that was conducted by Enrique Acevedo, the most-watched news anchor on broadcast television in México via TelevisaUnivision’s Las Estrellas network.
“It was a ridiculous interview. It was embarrassing. It was an interview with no pushback,” Navarro said of the Trump interview by Acevedo.

As concerns around President Biden’s age continue to weigh on the 2024 presidential campaign, “The View” host Ana Navarro has a suggestion for him: make an advertisement starring celebrities of a certain age. Among those older celebrities? Her cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
Monday’s episode of the ABC talk show was dedicated to celebrating Goldberg’s 68th birthday, but they did manage to sneak in one Hot Topic at the top of the show. That topic was Carol Alt, who has joined OnlyFans at age 62.
For the most part, the women of “The View” were largely supportive, saying that it’s just another example of defying ageism. Eventually, Navarro offered an idea for how Biden himself might combat ageism.
“I keep thinking that the Biden campaign should do a commercial where they have, like, Martha Stewart, and Mick Jagger, who’s out on tour, and, you know, Gladys Knight,...

The women of “The View” may not put much faith into polls, but the latest one from The New York Times and Siena admittedly has them a bit worried for 2024. The ABC hosts argued on Monday that Democrats need to “wake up” and see there’s a “real” chance that Trump could beat Biden next year, and fight it.
According to the latest poll, Trump leads Biden in five out of six battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania. For host Alyssa Farah Griffin, that’s enough to trigger actual concern.
“Polls aren’t perfect, and I was a victim of thinking the red wave was coming and it certainly didn’t materialize,” she noted. “But I do think there’s enough here that it needs to be a wake up call to Democrats that Donald Trump could beat Joe Biden.”

Ana Navarro has just about reached her limit when it comes to the ongoing drama surrounding Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. During Monday’s episode of “The View,” the host argued that the actor is currently an emotional “prisoner” of his wife, but added that she won’t be defending him any further.
As part of the Hot Topics discussion, host Sunny Hostin noted that, at the encouragement of a friend, she actually started reading Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir, which of course is the source of all the latest revelations about the actress’ marriage.
Having done so, Hostin admitted she has “completely different opinion about [Jada] now,” because the book is “her truth” and has some added context. But, Navarro remained unmoved. In fact, she even lost some favor she harbored for Will Smith.

Senator John Fetterman has been spending his week trolling Republican colleagues on X, and “The View” host Alyssa Farah Griffin isn’t impressed. According to the ABC host, it’s very “Marjorie Taylor Greene-like behavior,” and all politicians need to stop indulging in it.
Following Chuck Schumer’s loosening of the Senate dress code, Republicans have been in a tizzy, with some Democrats agreeing that there should be some decorum in clothing on the Senate floor. Of course, Fetterman is not among them, joking on X that he would “save democracy” by wearing a suit to work, if Ukraine could get funding.

“The View” returned for its 27th season on Tuesday, and host Ana Navarro wasted no time in getting in her first digs of the season at several people, including Florida governor Ron DeSantis. The ABC host likened the Republican presidential hopeful to Cher, given how many times he’s had to “reboot” his campaign.
Naturally, the hosts of “The View” had to spend most of their first show back playing catch-up, considering how much news happened while they were on their Summer break. That included discussing the first Republican presidential debate, in which DeSantis was expected to be the clear winner.
Instead, Navarro argued, Vivek Ramaswamy drew all the attention, which she considered “a huge, huge indictment — not real indictment, political indictment, because you gotta say the difference now — on Ron DeSantis.”

In the wake of TV producer Bill Geddie’s death, “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg has opened up about what has kept her on the daytime talk show for the past 16 years.
During the ABC series’ tribute to its late executive producer, Goldberg revealed that she first met Barbara Walters and her longtime producer once when the two were driving through Malibu for the series, “Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People.” Soon after, Goldberg, Walters and Geddie became friends. It’s through that friendship that the co-creators of “The View” first offered Goldberg her current hosting gig.
“I said, ‘Yeah, I need a job.’ You know? It’s nice when people offer you work. I was like, ‘Yes I’ll come.’ And here I be,” Goldberg said. “I remain out of respect to the show, and out of respect to the two of them who gave me a shot when no one else would.

Whether the 2024 Republican presidential nominee is Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis, Ana Navarro thinks Joe Biden can beat either one of them — but especially DeSantis. That’s because, according to the host of “The View,” DeSantis’ hyperfixation on those who are “woke” has “become a joke.”
Navarro’s thoughts came as she and her co-hosts were discussing No Labels, the political party created specifically to promote centrism and bipartisanship. Navarro dubbed it “the stupidest thing ever,” and her co-hosts largely agreed. But host Alyssa Farah Griffin did have a theory about it.
“I do think that the fact that Democrats are panicking so much over No Labels is them recognizing that Joe Biden is really only strong against Donald Trump,” Farah Griffin said. “With any other Republican candidate, I think that they realize it’s a much harder race for them.”

Bastad (Sweden), July 16 (Ians) No.8 seed Olga Danilovic of Serbia emerged as the champion at the Wta 125 Nordea Open after outlasting No.1 seed Emma Navarro 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-3 in singles final.
Currently ranked No.94, 22-year-old Danilovic took two-and-a-half hours to squeak past 55th-ranked Navarro of the United States on Saturday. Danilovic captured her first title at Wta 125 level with the victory.
“This was a very, very, very tough match. Obviously the toughest in the week. She’s a great player, her ranking says a lot. From the first point, I think, until the last was so tough,” Danilovic said, after her win.

“This was a very, very, very tough match. Obviously the toughest in the week. She’s a great player, her ranking says a lot. From the first point, I think, until the last was so tough,” Danilovic said, after her win.

“Amandla is deeply honored and would love to be here to celebrate with you, but she cannot be here today due to her support of the actors strike,” Castel said.

Madrid-based Latido Films has snagged international sales rights to Isaki Lacuesta’s “Saturn Return” (“Segundo premio”) and plans to kick off pre-sales at the Cannes market.
Currently shooting in Granada, the musical drama is set during the ‘90s when the Andalusian city was ground zero for an outburst of cultural effervescence, with the pioneering rock band Los Planetas at the center of it. The film focuses on the creative process behind the recording of their iconic third album, which also took them to New York.
Latido likens “Saturn Return” to “24 Hour Party People,” the 2002 British biographical dramedy about Manchester’s influential music scene, which spawned such bands as Factory Records’ Joy Division, New Order and Happy Mondays.
Based on a script by Fernando Navarro, the writer behind one of Netflix’s most viewed Spanish-language movies, “Below Zero,” the story is set at a time when the group was at its most fraught-ridden moments,...

The Patients of Dr. Garcia centers around a Republican named Dr. Guillermo Garcia, who lives in a war-torn Madrid. Guillermo Garcia lost his job, his family, and, most importantly, his identity once the Spanish Civil War ended and Francis Franco took over Spain. Guillermo restarted his life by using the alias Rafael Cuesta. At the start of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, when many injured soldiers were taken to the hospital, Guillermo Garcia Medina, one of the most capable and idealistic medical professionals, sought to provide them with the finest care possible. In times of blood scarcity, Guillermo was seen donating his own blood to his patients in an attempt to save their lives. Many of his injured patients who made a full recovery owed Guillermo their lives, but Guillermo regarded them as close friends. One of them was the Communist sergeant Pepe, who remained close to Guillermo for almost the entirety of his life.

The Patients of Dr. Garcia (also titled as Los pacientes del doctor Garcia), is a Netflix spy thriller series based on Almudena Grandes’ espionage novel of the same name. The series covers the period following the Spanish Civil War, when Francisco Franco seized power and ruled Spain. Following the war, Guillermo Garcia Medina, a Republican, assumed a false identity to reside in Madrid. His former patient and close friend, Manuel Arroyo was a Republican ambassador who embarked on a risky expedition to join a clandestine organization run by Clara Stauffer. Clara Stauffer, a Falangist and Nazi supervisor, was assisting Third Reich war criminals and fugitives to flee to Argentina through this secret network; thus, Manuel took the identity of a convicted soldier to ensure his escape. Guillermo Garcia assisted his friend Manuel by joining a transportation company working for Clara, but the soldier whose identity Manuel utilized to escape returned to Madrid.

Just a few weeks after outrage at Don Lemon for calling Nikki Haley “past her prime,” the presidential hopeful herself is now making a similar claim about President Joe Biden. So, on Friday’s episode of “The View,” the hosts dragged Haley for her “staggering hypocrisy.”
During a recent television appearance, Haley said that “if you vote for Joe Biden, you really are counting on a president Harris, because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old, is not something that I think is likely.”
For host Sunny Hostin, the comment was “completely crass,” and particularly unnecessary considering that Haley actually appeared to be trying to insult Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The View” hosts rejoiced during the April 24 episode of the ABC talk show as it was announced during the taping that Tucker Carlson was leaving Fox News. The audience cheered when “The View” moderator Whoopi Goldberg broke the news on air, saying, “Word has just come down that Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways.”
“Can I ask the audience if they’ll help me do something?” Ana Navarro said as she threw her hands in the air and started singing Steam’s 1969 hit “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”
“Come on folks! Na na na na. Na na na na. Hey, hey, hey. Goodbye! Sayonara,” Navarro said, leading “The View” audience in a sing-along to celebrate Carlson’s departure.

Another Trump crony has been caught on tape admitting claims of election fraud promoted by the former president and his allies were nonsense. This time it’s former Trump advisor Peter Navarro.
In a recording obtained by MSNBC, Navarro laments to former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg that Trump lawyer Sidney Powell killed the campaign’s chances of having claims of fraud taken seriously — blaming her for the unraveling of Trump’s attempts to overturn the election.

This post contains spoilers for the season 3 finale of "The Mandalorian," "The Return."
After the penultimate episode of "The Mandalorian" season 3 aired, there was visible anxiety about the concluding episode, especially in relation to Din Djarin's (Pedro Pascal) fate on Mandalore. Would Mando be able to make it out unscathed, and would Grogu be okay in such a dangerous, high-stakes situation? Director Rick Famuyiwa, who helmed the final two episodes of this season, cranked up things to 100 after a string of middling-to-good episodes in a largely uneven third season. On the bright side, we got a ton of lore progression and "Star Wars Rebels" tie-ins, setting up the events to come in "Ahsoka."
Thankfully, Famuyiwa found a way to end season 3 on a rather lovely, wholesome note. The Mandalorians fight against the beskar-armored Imperial Super Commandos valiantly, Din is able to escape his captivity (with the aid of Ig-Grogu), and...

As transphobic backlash against Anheuser-Busch continues after their non-apology for a Bud Light ad campaign with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney earlier this month, the hosts of “The View” weighed in on the situation Monday, calling the initial outrage outright “dumb.”
“I wanna know, what are you so angry about? Beer does not have a — I mean, it’s not a Democrat or a Republican, it doesn’t have a belief system,” Whoopi Goldberg said to kick off the Hot Topics discussion. “It’s just beer!”
As her co-hosts collected themselves after laughing, host Sunny Hostin chimed in, first calling out the blatant transphobia coming from conservative critics.
“I think that these people that were destroying their own beer, which is also kind of dumb, they also are making this out to be — this is a transphobic issue, right?” she said. “We know this country is highly transphobic.”
