All Elite Wrestling’s Jade Cargill is set for another championship defense match, with a formidable opponent looking to dethrone Aew’s first and only TBS Champion.
Ahead of the big match, Cargill took to her official Instagram to show off a photo with her “best friend” while rocking a stunning look.
Cargill wore all white for her outfit, with tight white jeans that hugged her curves as part of the attire. For her top, Cargill wore a fuzzy white strapless crop top.
A pair of high heels were slightly visible in a quick video clip that Cargill included as her second slide. In the clip, the champ is all smiles as she playfully raises her knee to the display case in front of her.
Her Aew TBS Championship belt sits on a shelf in that display case.

Marvel animated series Tigra & Dazzler is searching for a new showrunner and writers following a shakeup on the series. Sources close to the production confirm to Deadline that Hulu has parted ways with showrunner Erica Rivinoja due to creative differences, but the show is still moving forward at the streamer.
In Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show, “woke superheroes” and best friends Tigra and Dazzler fight for recognition among powered people who make up the 8 million stories in Los Angeles. Chelsea Handler remains as executive producer, along with Jeph Loeb.
Tigra & Dazzler is one of four animated original series at Hulu, along with Howard the Duck, Hit Monkey and M.O.D.O.K.
The Hulu shows are geared toward the more comedic end of the Marvel Universe, and an ironic tone will be watchword for the quartet of off-kilter franchises. Tigra and Dazzler have plenty of history as “serious” heroes...

Just three years ago, French playwright Florian Zeller made a splash on the Great White Way with his play “The Father,” which nabbed him a Best Play Tony nomination and earned its star Frank Langella his career-fourth trophy. This season, Zeller’s knack for attracting legendary talent continues with his second Broadway offering “The Height of the Storm,” which stars Jonathan Pryce and Eileen Atkins.
“The Height of the Storm,” a Manhattan Theatre Club production which opened at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on September 24, centers on the unsettling upheavals in the endearing and enduring fifty-year relationship between Parisian couple André (Pryce) and Madeleine (Atkins). Tony nominee Jonathan Kent (“A Long Day’s Journey Into Night”) directs.

We’re a ways away from seeing the X-Men on the big screen again, but this epic concept art could give us an idea of how much the wait will be worth it. Former Disney visual artist Jason Pastrana has shared his latest piece – seen down below – which imagines how three of mutantkind’s finest heroes could look given a Marvel Studios twist.
The image captures Wolverine, Cyclops and Storm in the heat of battle with a bunch of Sentinels. One thing fans really hope from the McU’s X-Men is that they’ll wear their classic outfits, particularly Wolverine, and that’s exactly what Pastrana’s delivered in his artwork. It appears that he’s based Logan and Scott Summers’ costumes on John Cassaday’s designs from the Astonishing X-Men comics, while Storm seems to be sporting her 80s-style mohawk.

Though we’re likely still a long way out from hearing the first casting announcements for the McU’s X-Men, you may have noticed that there’ve been a lot of rumors going round lately about Disney’s current thinking for the upcoming mutant reboot. One recent report, for example, got the internet talking with the claim that Marvel Studios is considering casting people of color to play the next Magneto and Professor X, and since then, we’ve heard the same about the McU’s own Kitty Pryde.
As it stands, we’ve yet to receive official confirmation on any of these ideas, but if Kevin Feige and his team really do end up casting a person of color for the next Shadowcat, sources close to We Got This Covered – the same ones who told us the studio was developing She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel shows before they were announced...

With the X-Men characters finally coming home to Marvel Studios thanks to Disney buying Fox, an artist named Marcus Williams was inspired to create some fan art. That fan art brings together several Disney Princesses and teams them up with X-Men characters. The result of this actually turned out really cool!
Some of the team-ups you’ll see include Cyclops, Banshee, and Merida; Tiana, Gambit, and Rogue; Ariel, Jubilee, and Vanellope; Belle, Shuri, and Beast; Iceman and Elsa; Psylocke and Mulan; Rapunzel and Wolverine; and Storm and Pocahontas.
The artist also included some creative little background info for each of the fan art pieces. These are just some entertaining “what if” scenarios that will never really happen, but I hope you enjoy what Williams has whipped up!

More than any other actor, T.J. Storm has had the longest career in various Ameri-Toku series including Vr Troopers and Godzilla.
Walking around the convention floor of the Japan World Heroes convention in Pasadena, California you can’t go a minute or two without hearing a cry of, “That’s so awesome!”
No, it’s not an over eager fan finding that rare toy or an expression of joy at meeting a celebrity. It’s T.J. Storm, the current motion capture actor for the American Godzilla, and he’s currently geeking out over a Godzilla: King of the Monsters toy he’s been asked to sign.
“I’ve never seen this one before!” He exclaims, turning the figure around as he tries to find the best place to sign it. Storm is not playing this up for the fan’s benefit, it’s clear he’s genuinely excited.

Early in the morning, late in the summer, the first ferryboat docked outside the Casino Palace shortly before 8 am, ejecting a crowd of critics onto the Lido and out toward the first screening of the year. Capping off weeks of excitement for yet another auteur-studded lineup, as well as endless controversies over its chronic lack of female representation, the 76th Venice Film Festival kicked off on August 28. And the Lido—that long strip of land separating the Venice lagoon from the Adriatic—braced for the return of a platoon of cinephiles that will keep flocking to its shores until the feast’s end on September 7. Now at its eighth edition under the aegis of Artistic Director Alberto Barbera, the festival has long turned into a fertile ground for awards season hopefuls. To be sure, this is nothing new: the late summer/early fall slot makes Venice an ideal launchpad for Oscar contenders,...

Several young celebrities are making it their mission to inspire positive change in the world, and 16-year-old actress Storm Reid is certainly one of them. The Atlanta native has helped cultivate important conversations about topics such as addiction, race, and familial relationships through her roles in HBO's Euphoria and Netflix's When They See Us, as well as 2018's A Wrinkle in Time. But her efforts to make an impact go beyond acting, as the rising talent is making moves off the screen to support social causes.
Storm recently became an educational ambassador for Children Mending Hearts, a nonprofit organization that aims to end bullying by encouraging kids to express themselves and practice empathy through service-learning programs. The organization's latest initiative involves young fans submitting videos that show how they're doing good in their communities. The X-Men are coming soon and Marvel fans are busy theorizing who should play the mighty mutant heroes in the McU. For digital artist BossLogic, though, the perfect Storm has already appeared in the franchise.
Bl thinks that Lupita Nyong’o – who played Nakia in Black Panther – would have been “amazing” as the Omega-level heroine, calling it a “missed opportunity” that she’s stuck in another role. He did suggest that Marvel could attempt some “creative twists” in order to make it work, though.
Like Bl says, it might not be totally out of the question that the actress could become Storm. If that kid in Iron Man 2 can be retconned as Spider-Man and Stan Lee can be unveiled as working for the Watchers, then it’s not a crazy suggestion that Nakia could be revealed as the McU’s version of Storm. Depending on how the mutants will be introduced into the franchise,...

The bad news keeps coming for “Dark Phoenix,” the Simon Kinberg-directed “X-Men” movie starring Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence. After tanking at the box office in its debut weekend with $33 million, the superhero tentpole dropped a huge 72.6% in its second weekend with a gross of just $9 million. That decline makes “Dark Phoenix” the unfortunate record holder for biggest second weekend drop ever for a superhero movie.
According to IndieWire’s box office expert Tom Brueggemann, “Dark Phoenix” is now destined to lose perhaps $100 million at the box office. The movie’s second weekend brings its total gross to about $52 million, and Brueggemann reports that a final gross of $65 million would be an optimistic outcome for the struggling “X-Men” tentpole. At this point, “Dark Phoenix” will have a final gross that is barely above the lowest openings in the “X-Men” franchise.

Despite being played by two actresses across six movies, Storm has never been particularly well-served by the X-Men franchise. As one of the most popular and powerful mutant heroes in the comics, Ororo should be running the show, but she’s often sidelined and not given much character development. Dark Phoenix star Alexandra Shipp would love to change all that in a Storm solo movie though that sees the heroine meeting her future self, Halle Berry.
Shipp spoke to ComicBook.com recently and revealed her ambitious idea for a Storm spinoff, featuring herself, Berry and even additional versions of the character, all of whom would come together to save the day using their kick-ass weather-controlling abilities.
“Okay, so this is what I’ve come up with. I think it’d be really cool if you had me and Halle [Berry] both teaming up together and fighting a baddie. We have to save the planet past,...

Is it just not possible to do Dark Phoenix justice on the big screen? Parts of the iconic comic book storyline were already adapted for the 2006 superhero movie “X-Men: The Last Stand,” which brought the critical success of the “X-Men” film franchise to a halt. Now the same storyline has been used as the basis for “Dark Phoenix,” which has earned some of the worst reviews ever for an “X-Men” movie. “Dark Phoenix,” starring Sophie Turner in the title role, currently boasts a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes from 166 reviews.
While critics are definitely not happy with the “X-Men” franchise’s second go-around with the Dark Phoenix storyline, one person who is excited is Famke Janssen. The actress originated the role of Jean Grey on the big screen starting with the 2000 kickoff movie “X-Men,” then reprised the character in “X2: X-Men United” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.” The latter sequel found Janssen assuming the Dark Phoenix character.

This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
The release of X-Men: Dark Phoenix this summer signals the end of the X-Men franchise as we know it – with Disney now in charge of Fox and no more X-Men movies in active development, the mutants will finally be returning to Marvel at some point in the future. For now, though, with Dark Phoenix aiming to offer the 19-year-old franchise one last hurrah, we've taken a look back at the series and picked out 19 uncanny facts for your delectation...

Kansas City indie-rock artist Kevin Morby is a secular guy with a spiritual side, and on his fifth LP he thinks deep (and sometimes somewhat less deep) about the nature of religious devotion, tapping a rich lineage of transcendentally-minded musical history. The title track is a rollicking piano number that sounds like it was recorded in an old clapboard Baptist church, with Morby in full gospel shouter mode, asking “Please, won’t you release me?” before the song is transmogrified by an angelic choir and then a sky-kissing sax outro.

The Marvel superhero movie universe — responsible for a huge chunk of Hollywood’s box office in recent years — has begun to see a broad push to embrace diversity and inclusion, both in front of and behind the camera. The studio is starting to fully recognize that fans of these movies are extremely diverse, and are more vocal than ever with demands to be properly represented and spoken to. To that end, Marvel has asserted that it will answer these challenges.
So far, so good.
“Black Panther” earned its way into box office history, while also becoming the first superhero movie to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
“Captain Marvel” – the first solo Marvel film with a female superhero in Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers – has earned over $1 billion worldwide so far.
Not to mention that, if you look beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” centered around the Afro-Latino Miles Morales,...

Even on one of the quietest weekends of the year, new U.S. animated release “Wonder Park” failed to inspire Chinese audiences as much as Hong Kong and Indian movies already in their third weekend in theaters.
Starring the voice talents of Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Garner, Mila Kunis, and Ken Jeong, among many others, the film tells the story of a young girl who has adventures when the amusement park she thought only existed in her imagination comes to life. It is the directorial debut of Dylan Brown, an animator who had worked on films like “Monsters Inc.,” but who was fired by Paramount in January 2018 due to allegations of inappropriate conduct with women and is thus uncredited.
“Wonder Park” came in third with just a $3.3 million debut weekend, according to figures from consultancy Artisan Gateway. The film opened March 15 in the U.S.

With the Disney-Fox merger officially complete, the Marvel Cinematic Universe now has the chance to incorporate popular “X-Men” characters such as Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, and more into its movies for the first time. However, comic book movie fans looking forward to Captain Marvel and Wolverine taking down bad guys together shouldn’t hold their breath. Speaking to i09, Kevin Feige said the current plan for the next five or so years of Marvel movies does not currently include X-Men characters.
“It’ll be a while,” Feige said when asked about bringing the X-Men into the McU. “It’s all just beginning and the five-year plan that we’ve been working on, we were working on before any of that was set. So really it’s much more, for us, less about specifics of when and where [the X-Men will appear] right now and more just the comfort factor and...

Rising star Alexandra Shipp got a major breakthrough when she was cast as young Storm in Fox’s “X-Men” franchise starting with 2016’s “X-Men: Apocalypse.” An older version of the character was famously played by Halle Berry in multiple “X-Men” movies, and Shipp is reprising the superhero role in this summer’s “Dark Phoenix.” The actress promoted the upcoming tentpole at WonderCon over the weekend (via Cbm) and knocked the X-Men movies for not giving her character much to do.
Shipp was asked by a reporter about the Disney-Fox merger and whether or not she would be excited for Storm and other X-Men to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Shipp answered, “I would and I wouldn’t because Storm barely has anything to say as it is. I don’t know about [the other actors] but like we never talk. Alexandra Shipp, who returns as Storm in Dark Phoenix, says no thanks to walking the aisle with T’Challa.
One of the highest profile romantic relationships in Marvel Comics history was that of Black Panther/T’Challa and Storm/Ororo Munroe, with the ruler of Wakanda and one of the most powerful mutants in the world eventually getting married in Black Panther #18 in 2006 -- only for the marriage to be annulled five years later.
The X-Men, including presumably Storm, are now destined to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point following the Disney/Fox merger. While promoting what is likely to be the last Fox X-Men film in the current continuity, Dark Phoenix, Shipp was asked during a chat with Den of Geek and other outlets at WonderCon if she’d like to see the wedding of Black Panther and Storm come to the screen.

Well, director Simon Kinberg showed up at WonderCon today to show off some new footage from the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix film. There was about ten to fifteen minutes of footage screened and for the most part… I liked what I saw! This might end up being the best X-Men movie since First Class.
Before I dive into it…
First Clip:
The first sequence that was screened featured the X-Men flying off into space in the Blackbird to help save a team of Nasa astronauts who are in trouble as their shuttle is spinning out of control as a black fiery floating mass is getting bigger and becoming unstable. They think that this is a solar flare, but what they come across is obviously not that.
The X-Men who race off into space on this mission include Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Cyclops...

Albert Finney was destined to play Winston Churchill. That was the view of the producers behind the 2002 HBO movie “The Gathering Storm,” which earned Finney his first and only Emmy Award.
Finney, who died Thursday in London at the age of 82, was envisioned for the role of Churchill in “Storm” from the outset, according to producer Colin Callender, who ran HBO’s movies and miniseries department at the time Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions made “Storm.”
The movie tells the story of Churchill’s return from political exile in Britain during the 1930s, as he continually sounds the alarm about the growing Nazi menace in Germany. Vanessa Redgrave played Churchill’s wife, Clementine, in the movie that is rooted in the strength of their love and her influence on his life.

Anthem might not be the BioWare game you were hoping for, but this third-person action game is still a lot of fun.
Few studios have more passionate fans than BioWare’s, most of whom fell into their fandom because of Mass Effect and, to perhaps a lesser extent, Dragon Age. Anthem, the Canadian studio’s anticipated new IP, has engendered trepidation among a number of fans due to the lukewarm critical reception to Mass Effect: Andromeda and the fact that, in early trailers, Anthem appeared to be an action-based game that wouldn’t offer the same interpersonal, dialogue-driven intrigue the studio has become known and lauded for since the days of Baldur's Gate and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Which is to say, fans demanding romance will find that, in Anthem, love most certainly isn’t in the air.

KiKi Layne is "actively plotting" to play Storm in an X-Men adaptation.
Actress KiKi Layne is campaigning to play X-Men's Storm.
In an interview with Variety, Layne revealed that she's a huge fan of Storm. In fact, she describes the character as "an image of myself, of a powerful chocolate black woman," and that she thinks "that’s an amazing image to have." At some point, she would love to have the chance to play the character.
Actually, it sounds like Layne might be doing a little more than wishing. She mentioned that her agents, managers, and herself have been "actively plotting" to secure the role. What, exactly, that means is up for some debate as Layne didn't elaborate on the extent of her active pursuit of the role. That’s not to say that she’s only interested in indie films. In fact, she’s got a particular superhero she wants to tackle — X-Men’s Storm.

After tasting weeks of defeat, Sid Scala went to Nxt UK General Manager Johnny Saint for an opportunity and walked out of the Gm’s office with a future match against Joe Coffey. However, still not medically cleared this week, Scala instead emerged to introduce Coffey’s replacement opponent, Tyler Bate – just weeks after The Coffey Brothers and Wolfgang attacked Moustache Mountain backstage. Though Bate’s explosive office proved effective against Coffey early on, the distraction by emerging Mark Coffey and Wolfgang allowed the Iron King to take change with a brutal offense. The former U.K.

Match #1: Rhea Ripley def Xia Brookside – Nxt UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
In the third Nxt UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match, feisty Xia Brookside (daughter of British Legend Robbie Brookside) squared off against the imposing Rhea Ripley. Denying Brookside’s attempt at good sportsmanship with a shove to the face, Ripley matched her opponent’s quick and elusive style with incredible strength and size, blocking a hurricanrana attempt with an earth-shattering buckle bomb into the turnbuckle. The Mosh Pit Kid proved relentless throughout, showing immense strength with a devastating standing vertical delayed suplex, executing kicks that showed her experienced football background and locking her opponent in her excruciating version of a cloverleaf using her arms.

Yesterday’s first trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix gave us a lot to chew on. One of the most intriguing details that it teased was a major death occurring in the film. In a brief clip, the X-Men can be seen gathered around a freshly-dug grave for a funeral and the implication is clear: Jean Grey going off the deep-end is going to have fatal consequences for one of the mutant heroes.
So, who can we confirm is safe? Well, we can definitely make out Professor X, Beast, Cyclops and Storm at the graveside, so we know none of them are the subject of the funeral. If you remember, a report from earlier in the year claimed that one of the four characters left over from 2011’s X-Men: First Class would kick the bucket in Dark Phoenix. If that’s true, that means we can narrow the search down to either Magneto or Mystique.

Since set photos leaked online from filming, we’ve known to expect a batch of new costumes for the titular mutant team in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The end of Apocalypse saw the young group of X-Men, led by Mystique, suited up in fan-pleasing distinctive and colorful outfits that called back to their classic comic books. The implication was that they would be wearing these costumes next time we saw them, but clearly, director Simon Kinberg had other ideas and decided to change up their look once again.
Yesterday’s first trailer gave us a pretty good glimpse at the new uniforms the team will wear in the movie. In one clip, Professor X and his X-Men, consisting of Mystique, Storm, Quicksilver, Cyclops, Beast and Nightcrawler, confront the unstable Jean Grey who’s allied herself with Magneto. Here, the group are in matching black outfits with a large yellow X across the chest.

Halle Berry and Lena Waithe have signed on as executive producers for the “Boomerang” TV series currently in the works at Bet.
Based on the 1992 American romantic comedy film in which Berry starred alongside Robin Givens and Eddie Murphy, this new series will follow the lives of Jacqueline Boyer’s son and Marcus and Angela Graham’s daughter as they try to step out of their parents’ shadows and make a legacy of their own.
“I’m thrilled to team up with Lena on this project as she is without a doubt a leading voice of her generation and a trail blazer in her own right,” Berry said. “I’m truly excited to be a part of bringing this iconic and beloved film to the small screen.”
Produced by Bet Networks and Paramount Television, the 10-episode half-hour series will premiere in 2019 on Bet. Ben Cory Jones is attached as showrunner...
