Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s Fargo Season 3 finale.
Well, it’s not Tony Soprano munching on onion rings in a Jersey diner before the screen cuts to black… but it’s close.
Fargo‘s third season wrapped up on Wednesday with maybe the most ambiguous final scene since that controversial Sopranos series-ender a decade ago: Gloria, now a Homeland Security agent five years later, sits across an interrogation-room table from slippery villain V.M. Varga, vowing to send him away to rot in Rikers while she enjoys a fried Snickers bar at the state fair. Varga disagrees,...

WWE Network News is reporting that the WWE Network has added more than fifty plus episodes of Nxt to their on demand section. Going back to Nxt's debut at Full Sail University, WWE fans can see the birthplace of their current cast of characters with the Nxt debuts of Bo Dallas, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, and others in these classic episodes.
This is not the Nxt that replaced the WWE's version of Ecw. That show, while introducing some pretty decent talent, was a joke. The Nxt we know and love today was started by Triple H as a way to utilize talent in the WWE Performance Center in a setting that would closely resemble what conditions would be like when these superstars reached the main roster. It also gave a chance for Full Sail University students to get some much needed experience behind the scenes, training in television production with a...

They wait in the darkness for the next group, their eyes searching from sunken sockets. One day, animatronic zombies could give tourists their own ghoulish greetings in "Battle for Survival", The Walking Dead theme park ride that's currently being teased at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (Iaapa) gathering in Orlando, Florida.
Via Chandler Desrochers, /Film recently reported that the Sally Corporation is developing The Walking Dead: Battle For Survival theme park ride. Described as "a very Dark ride", this official Walking Dead experience is now being pitched to potential buyers at the Iaapa Expo 2015.
Battle for Survival's booth is making quite an impression at the convention, with an operational animatronic walker on display against a bullet-ridden prison guard tower backdrop.

Le silence de la mer
Written and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville
France, 1949
Nearly every mention of Jean-Pierre Melville’s cinema inevitably alludes to his crime films, and for good reason. Of his 13 features, nine fall under this general heading, and for the most part, they are his best and most admired. Amongst the rest of his filmography, slightly varying and further distinguishing his career, are his occasional forays into the war film—or, more precisely, the wartime film, for typical battleground scenarios are negligible. This is the case with Léon Morin, Priest (1961), with The Army of Shadows (1969), his extraordinary ode to the French resistance, of which he was a member, and this is the case with his debut, Le silence de la mer. (His 1950 feature, Les Enfants Terribles, defies generic categorization.)

In addition to its amusingly micro-sized marketing efforts, Marvel is beginning to roll out more of the traditional elements of its pre-release campaign for Ant-Man. The second trailer oozed with crazy stature-related antics and its first motion poster kept up the same ‘our hero is Tiny’ perspective. In this latest drop, there’s a chance to see how Scott Lang, the titular man, began his tenure as Ant-Man.
Star of the movie, Paul Rudd, hit the talk show circuit last night and unveiled the film’s first extended clip during his appearance on Late Night With David Letterman. For those of you who are hoping to enter the movie theater with no knowledge of Ant-Man’s adventure, then it might be wise to click elsewhere.

“I’ve got everything under control.” You can keep telling yourself that but, like Clara Oswald, it just isn’t entirely true now, is it? The Doctor has been off our screens for over a month (yes, it really has been that long!) and the process of dealing with his absence never gets any easier.
Doctor Who fans are used to this by now, of course. They wait months for him to return and then he’s here and gone again before you can say “Raxacoricofallapatorius” so it’s no exaggeration to say that the waiting is always the hardest past. Even the task of having to wait a mere week between each new episode is difficult enough for most of us so the Time Lord’s legion of dedicated devotees can be forgiven for going a bit loopy – for want of a better word – during the show’s extended downtime.

Mutant turtles living in New York City sewers and fighting crime isn't exactly what you'd call a "realistic" premise, and really, the inherent goofiness has always been part of the charm for a property that's spawned three animated series, multiple movies, and countless toy lines. But for some reason, the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie, produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, still spends an inordinately large amount of runtime pointing out that, yes, they know how ridiculous this all must sound.
The basic plot of the new reboot, as laid out in a comic book-style prologue, sees New York in the grips of a major crime wave thanks to the Foot Clan, now a paramilitary force led by Shredder (Tohoru Masamune). And the only ones who can stop them are our teenage heroes, who've been preparing for years to assume their rightful place as the city's...

The house looked like a sand castle after the tide had come in. Except sand suggested a crumbling grayness, and the tall, narrow house was a fresh white. A front porch was large enough for a swinging bench if I could bear that level of domesticity. Blue shutters marched from the ground floor to the third, and above that—

Stars: Jaime King, Malcolm McDowell, Brendan Fehr, Donal Logue, Ellen Wong | Written by Jayson Rothwell | Directed by Steven C. Miller
Following on from his original horror flick The Aggression Scale, which was undoubtedly a hit with a lot of horror fans, director Steven C. Miller tackled a quasi-remake of the controversial 1984 killer-Claus film Silent Night, Deadly Night. Why quasi-remake? Well Silent Night takes the basic theme of that film (and by extension that of the classic Tales From the Crypt story “And All Through the House”), along with one or two of it’s most famous set-pieces and crafts an all-new tale of a killer Santa Claus picking off citizens of a small American town on Christmas Eve – and that’s the plot in a nutshell. No more, no less.

“Indifference”
Written By: Matthew Negrete
Directed By: Tricia Brock
Original Airdate: 3 November 2013
In This Episode...
With Daryl’s crew still not back yet, Rick takes Carol on a supply run to the suburbs. Their first priority is antibiotics or medications that might help with the flu. They also need food, as much of their reserves were compromised during the outbreak. The ride is tense, and Carol tries to break the ice by explaining why she felt killing Karen and David was the right thing to do: it was a quick death, better than them drowning in their own blood; she had to try to save lives. Rick says nothing.
Pulling up in a neighborhood, they see a car with a cleaned-off windshield. Someone has been here recently, but the car is empty. Heading into the first house, Rick raids the medicine cabinet when a noise upstairs draws their attention.

On their first night together in the woods, the men kinda-sorta bond over their troubled pasts. When Pope mocks Tom for what he assumes was an idyllic childhood, Tom puts him in his place by revealing that his father was a violent drunk - the only thing idyllic was the fact that he survived. Jack Donaghy Quotes: Best Of...
Jack: We produce more failed pilots than the French air force.
Jenna: Listen up, Fives. A Ten is speaking.
Jack: Lemon, you look terrible, and I once watched you eat oysters while you had a cold.
Jack: Tgs with Tracy Jordan without Tracy Jordan is an oxymoron, like "liberal government" or "female scientist."
Jack: I'm going to hire Devon Banks.
Liz: Banks? He's your nemesis! That would be like me hiring that mouse that keeps pooping in my slippers.

Silent Night
Stars: Jaime King, Malcolm McDowell, Brendan Fehr, Donal Logue, Ellen Wong | Written by Jayson Rothwell | Directed by Steven C. Miller
Following on from his original horror flick The Aggression Scale, which was undoubtedly a hit with a lot of horror fans, director Steven C. Miller tackles a quasi-remake of the controversial 1984 killer-Claus film Silent Night, Deadly Night.
Unlikely to inspire the same controversy as the original film, Silent Night is more of a self-aware parody...

How seriously do you think I take Halloween? Well, I’m fairly frickin’ anal retentive anyway, so I need to book my viewing in advance. I mean I’ll deviate from my itinerary, but I at least need a plan. I can’t be the only one out there with a stick up his ass. So this October/Halloween Season I figured we needed a little guidance. There’s too many damn channels on the cable box, no horror hosts and shit for advertising. So let me be your TV Guide… Keeper.
We won’t touch on everything and I’m sure new programming will come up as October gets itself moving. I’ll throw an update out there from time to time if a special is airing or a new programming line up is discovered, uncovered, revealed or undead. Yes, this is for cable or dish. Network TV will...

Oh boy, oh boy, this episode is full of Only Good Things: the ladies actually starting to get down with the singing and songwriting; road trips; and best of all, gay pride and drag queens! Holla! I know there’s only been four episodes of this thing so far, but am I tempted to say it’s one of my favorite shows of all time? You bet I am!
The first half of this episode revolves around studio time with Big Jim. While the other divas have already met him previously, Keke has been a little busy havin’ a baby and stuff. So she meets with him for the first time, mere-days-old babe in tow. Ain’t no resting for this mama; girl is serious. And for good reason: while we’ve mostly heard her voice only used to nag Michael thus far, when...

Hello and welcome to Bomb Girls, a show about Canadian factory workers during the Second World War. But wait! Come back! While this might sound like a figurative as well as literal bomb at first, you dismiss it at your peril. At its best, it has elements of Mad Men’s textured vintage style and Downton Abbey’s sugary soap opera, mixed with a bracing tablespoon of social commentary. These are obviously lofty comparisons, and the show falls short of them often in its freshman season, but it does have one claim on our affections no other can offer.
This is Betty, the embodiment of all that is good and plucky in this world, and our Very Own Canadian Lesbian. Soon you will either want to be her, be with her, or like me, a pleasantly confusing combination of the two.

Urn & Willow by Scott Thomas (Dark Regions Press)
Urn & Willow is the fifth book in Dark Regions ongoing Ghost House imprint and features eleven interior illustrations by artist Erin Wells.
Ghostly tales of 18th and 19th century New England The hour is late, and wind whispers at the window. Autumn leaves have taken wing and a breeze troubles the candle flame. Something from the past has returned and walks the moonlit night. Something dead.
The door may be bolted and the fire may be warm, but the ghosts in Scott Thomas’s Urn And Willow will find you. They wait patiently within the covers, inviting you to visit the lonely chamber where three sisters starved to death, and the small town where the devil’s hoof prints steam in the snow, and a house where the rooms mysteriously multiply and are inhabited by otherworldly creatures. Come inside and visit the haunted seasons of the past.

Mumbai, April 25: Filmmaker-actor Rajat Kapoor, who had to wait for two years to release his film "Fatso", says it's frustrating when your movie fails to reach the audiences.
"The film has been ready for two years. Our job is to make a film and deliver it. After that the producers and the marketing team take the call. They wait for the right time; they wait for the right moment when they feel it will work. I don't really understand," Rajat told Ians.
"It is very frustrating that something that you have made is not reaching the audiences and you are dying for it to come out. But it is not in your hands and you.

Before you start reading this, just know I am talking about the Spanish-language original and not the American remake starring Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) that hits theaters on March 9. Also, this article is filled with spoilers for the original film, which I watched as the result of a scheduling issue that caused me to miss a screening of the remake. Having missed that screening, I decided to watch a year-old screener of Gustavo Hernandez's 2010 original, which earned a lot of attention when it was released, primarily due to the fact it was supposedly shot in one, long 86-minute take. The Silent House begins with a girl -- presumably around the age of 21 or so -- named Laura (Florencia Colucci), walking through a field with her father to what appears to be an abandoned house. They wait for the owner, Nestor, to arrive and let them in so...

Fans looking for a few good scares in Hollywood arrived in droves for a screening Paranormal Activity 3 . That's where we found actress Katie Featherston, the one who was there from the beginning to experience the series' spooky events and the franchise's growing success. Featherston does appear in the third entry, albeit briefly - after all, the film revolves around her character ("Katie") as a young girl. "They couldn't just throw me into the film just to have me in there though," she told Shock. "It has to be truthful and make sure it makes sense. Everything was evolving. It was never like, Oh, we're going to make it, done deal. They wait until they have a script that makes sense - which I love - so there was never a moment where I knew for...

When it comes to certain stars, the film makes money regardless of what the reviewer says. Then they start looking like small street dogs barking at a huge elephant: Shyam Benegal
Quite a few things in cinema transcend logic, and this is one of them. Films that stick like a bone in the throat of film reviewers go on to do phenomenal business at the box office (yes, we may be referring to Bodyguard) while films that are praised liberally are often left famished when it comes to making money. There seems to be a discord between filmmakers, film reviewers and the audience in the largest film-producing country of the world. What then is the role of a film reviewer and a film review in a space that is churning out all kinds of cinema parallely?

Daniel Benard, a 36-year-old man, allegedly hopped fence and then used a garage door opener he found in an unlocked vehicle to break into Celine Dion's Montreal home on Monday (Sept. 5), reports the AP.
What did he do once there though? Steal Dion's articles of Dion's itty bitty clothing to sell on eBay? Write creepy declarations of his undying love in his own blood on her bedroom wall? Take pictures of himself in her downstairs bathroom?
Nope, he had himself a little snack of leftover pastries and went to draw himself in the authorities' words, a "nice warmish bath."
During all this he managed to set off an alarm as well. When police -- and their canine unit -- arrived he greeted them by coming down...

Hampstead; Theatre Royal Haymarket; Vaudeville, all London
Ecstasy: by which Mike Leigh means desperation under a candlewick bedspread. His restaging of this 1979 play, originally devised at Hampstead with Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters, is a significant occasion. It's the first time Leigh has returned to one of his old plays. It is, in terms of tickets sold and cash taken, the most successful production in the theatre's history. It is also a blazing demonstration of Leighland.
It begins with electric simplicity. When Siân Brooke and Sinead Matthews – the one with a gin bottle in the cupboard and sexually grumpy visitors, the other waving some pink, slippery tops she's just nicked from C&A – yelp on to the scene, they are bright outlines. The audience chortles, and bring to mind Dominic Cooke's project at the Royal Court: he thinks it grisly that the middle classes should huddle in the stalls to...

On a cold, dark London evening, I had the chance to experience Tod Williams' Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) - released on DVD this coming Monday (28 February) - in the scariest environment imaginable: the downstairs of a South London pub.
This special screening of the film was preceded by a spooky stroll around London’s shadow-filled streets. Led by ghost aficionado Richard Jones (of Most Haunted Live and Haunted History fame), the tour passed through a number of ghoulish historical locations, from the back alleyways around Bank to London Bridge, divulging the dark secrets of a number of haunted houses along the way.
“Location is important in a ghost story,” explains Richard once we'd retreated to the safety of the pub:
“The scariest place I’ve been two is Rait Castle, in Inverness. It’s a ruin in the middle of a field. I was there on a bright summer’s...

While sifting through Youtube trailers the other day, we came across what appears to be a German release of the movie trailer for the upcoming Mother's Day Remake. After doing some research around the web, we found that indeed it is a promotional trailer for the Darren Lynn Bousman's film, but not the "official" trailer which should be releasing very soon.
Short Synopsis:

The movie is slated for an opening date of April 1st via LightTower Entertainment and Gigapix Releasing. The film stars veteran actress Rebecca De Mornay (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle), Jaime King (They Wait, The Tripper), Briana Evigan (Sorority Row, Burning Bright), Shawn Ashmore (The Ruins, Frozen), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) Lyriq Bent (Saw II, III and IV), Alexa Vega (Repo! New York — Over the course of his solo career, John Legend has proven to be as refined a singer as any of his R&B contemporaries, from Maxwell to Usher. But with his new collaborative effort with the Roots, Wake Up!, the velvety-smooth Legend showcases more gruff vocals amid the set's 1960s and '70s soul-drenched motivational music.
On Thursday night, John Legend's full range was on display as he worked through his repertoire alongside Philadelphia's finest at Manhattan's Terminal 5. The show was the latest installment in American Express' Unstaged concert series, this one filmed by Spike Lee. The collective marched out onto the stage in New Orleans "second line"-style and settled themselves in front of the backdrop, a massive replica of the Wake Up!

Samsung's new Galaxy Tablet is the answer to Apple's iPad, but it's barely competent--which is precisely how Samsung rolls. A history of merely satisfactory products proves the point.
Samsung is one of our Most Innovative Companies for good reason--their microchip and memory business is one of the best in the world, and the company is definitely on the shortlist of most dominant consumer tech companies. They sell the most TVs, are second only to Nokia in worldwide cellphone sales, and fall in the top five in just about every other corner of the industry. Yet Samsung's consumer products consistently underwhelm.
Samsung is safe. They wait to see what works and release their own pretty good, decently performing version at a fair price. But that's not the stuff of greatness. Here's what we mean.

Robert Downey Jr. is convinced that "Due Date" is a better movie than "The Hangover," for the simple reason that, as director Todd Phillips explained to MTV News, "Due Date" is about something, whereas "Hangover" just follows a bunch of groggy dudes around Las Vegas.
Phillips doesn't necessarily agree with Downey, but he'll take the compliment, just as he accepts the pressure of following up the $467 million worldwide success of "Hangover." His mission after that flick broke big last year was to get right back to work. For that task, he hauled Zach Galifianakis back into the mix and recruited Downey. "Due Date" follows Downey's character, Peter Highman, whose wife is about to go into labor, forcing...

His mission after that flick broke big last year was to get right back to work. For that task, he hauled Zach Galifianakis back into the mix and recruited Downey. "Due Date" follows Downey's character, Peter Highman, whose wife is about to go into labor, forcing...

The wonderful sci-fi geek site i09.com recently linked out to an La Times interview with producer Gary Kurtz, and i09 believed it to be the first time that Kurtz had spoken in-depth, on the record, about the creation of Star Wars and the issues he had with George Lucas during the making of The Empire Strikes Back that led to a massive falling out between the two creative partners.
Well, not so.
I’d done a massive interview with Kurtz back in 2002, which goes into a lot more detail about the falling out, plus Kurtz’s other work on American Graffiti and with Jim Henson on The Dark Crystal.
Here is that interview…

It took 79-year-old Jean-Luc Godard to shine out amid the festival's glut of unwatchable art-house films
Just because there's champagne and yachts and a bit of sunshine, everyone thinks Cannes must be brilliant. Most of the time, it is, but it certainly hasn't been this year and when the curtain comes down tonight on the 63rd edition of the world's most important film festival, everyone at the Palais will surely be glad to make way for next month's Congres des Parfumeurs. It should help dissipate the air of disappointment lingering in the screening theatres.
There. I've said it. After the early promise of Mike Leigh's tender character study Another Year, the Cannes line-up revealed very little new or inventive in world cinema. And there's nothing more depressing than watching half-arsed art house. I'd rather watch slick Hollywood "product" than sit through most of this year's Cannes films again, when...
