There are over 30 projects rumored to be in development and scheduled to be released sometime in the next two years, and ‘Thor 5’ is one of them, at least according to the rumors that are getting louder and louder. Recently, Taika Waititi commented on the possibility of him helming the fifth God of Thunder movie in the MCU, and he shrugged it off, saying that it’s really not on his schedule at the moment.
This is ultimately a good thing if you are familiar with ‘Love and Thunder’ which is often lauded to be the worst Thor movie by a long shot, something that even Hemsworth commented on recently. Now ‘Thor 5’ is still without a director and one surprising name has stated that he would like to direct it, primarily due to his experience working with Chris Hemsworth.

“Mad Max” superfan and creator of the “Metal Gear” and “Death Stranding” video game series Hideo Kojima has seen the new film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and his reaction does not disappoint. Posting to X, formerly known as Twitter, Kojima released pictures of himself from the theater — his eyes misty from the experience.
“Witnessed ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga!’ Kojima said in his post. “This movie, which easily surpasses ‘Mad’ and even past ‘Fury’, is at its ‘Max’ (masterpiece)! Ever since I saw the first film when I was 16 years old, George Miller has saved me, encouraged me, and changed my way of life countless times. He is my God, and the Saga that he tells is my Bible.”
This is not the first time Kojima has expressed his adulation for maestro George Miller. Back when they met in 2015, he said, “My games were made with a lot of genes inherited from George Miller.

Pan-Arab distributor Mad Solutions is expanding operations by setting up Mad World, a Dubai-based company dedicated to selling Arab movies internationally that will officially launch in Cannes.
Touted as Arab cinema’s first global sales outfit, Mad World segues from Mad Solution’s first foray in the international distribution arena last year with Sudanese director Mohamed Kordofani’s “Goodbye Julia” which they sold widely after it’s splashy launch from Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section.
In addition to acquiring global rights to an increasing number of international co-productions, the Cairo-based studio has been stepping up its involvement in packaging Arabic projects with global market potential.
Besides fresh product, Mad World will be handling sales on an extensive library of recent festival award-winners, including shorts, and a back-catalog of titles comprising regional theatrical and streaming titles, many of which have not reached audiences outside the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

Australian director George Miller made his first feature film, "Mad Max," in 1979. It was a very low-budget affair costing about $200,000. The film takes place in the near future when the Earth is running low on oil and civilization is just beginning to crumble. "Mad" Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) is a road cop tasked with reigning in the chaos. "Mad Max" was decidedly low-fi, but it struck a chord with audiences, ultimately earning almost $100 million worldwide. It remains one of the most profitable movies of all time, comparable only to "The Blair Witch Project," "Paranormal Activity," and "Deep Throat." Miller would go on to make several sequels to "Mad Max" in 1981, 1985, and 2015. The fifth film in the series, "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," is hitting theaters this month, with a potential sixth entry, "Mad Max: The Wasteland," in the early planning stages.

The upcoming summer release of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, is the next entry in George Miller and Byron Kennedy’s post-apocalyptic action film series Mad Max. Mad Max: Fury Road, which won an Oscar, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, and The Road Warrior were the three subsequent flicks in the series after the 1979 release of the first movie.
However, it seems Taylor-Joy’s work on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga didn’t attract as much attention as her covert marriage to Malcolm McRae, which took everyone by surprise. But now, it seems like the actress, 28, is making up for lost time with the perfect gift for her beloved husband after wrapping up filming for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays the younger version of Imperator Furiosa, a character earlier played to perfection by Charlize Theron, in the upcoming George Miller film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Taylor-Joy had a rough six months shooting for the film in the wastelands of Australia, often sacrificing her sleep and weekends for the same. She revealed that when she watched the unedited black-and-white footage of the film, she couldn’t even go through the first three minutes without crying.

Miller picked Anya Taylor-Joy for the role after her audition, where she performed lines from the 1976 film Network. Besides Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke also play the crucial roles of Warlord Dementus and Praetorian Jack respectively in the film.

This post contains spoilers for "Unfrosted."
As you might expect from its subject matter, Jerry Seinfeld's "Unfrosted," a film about the creation of the Pop-Tart, is an extremely silly comedy. It's also (very loosely) based on the real-world rivalry between Kellogg's and Post, and since the film chronicles the creation of a new product from a major company in the 1960s, the movie also contains a scene in which Don Draper and Roger Sterling from AMC's "Mad Men" drop by to pitch an advertising campaign for what would eventually be named the Pop-Tart. Yes, after dropping the mic in one of the most famous series finales of this century when "Mad Men" ended in 2015, actors Jon Hamm and John Slattery returned to reprise their most memorable roles in a goofy Netflix comedy.

Of all the roles Charlize Theron has donned to date, perhaps none comes as close to playing Furiosa in the Mad Max saga. That being said, fans also awaited for her to reprise her iconic role and return to the screens in character for the upcoming prequel and spin-off based on her character’s name. However, things went a bit downhill for her for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

While there was a chance for her to star as the noted character in this prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road as well, she instead had to give her up to Hollywood’s currently raging heartthrob Anya Taylor-Joy. And while the younger actress says Theron holds no hard feelings toward her because of the same, the one to blame for this decision is none other than the helmer of the saga, George Miller.

George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road spent so much time in development that its previous star, Mel Gibson, seemingly got too old for the action role. Gibson was replaced by Tom Hardy in the 2015 film, which went on to become one of the greatest action films of all time. Fans always wondered whether the Og Max Rockatansky would meet with the new one in any of the future installments. Miller confirmed that it wouldn’t happen and had a perfectly valid reason for it.

Mad Men is one of the most critically acclaimed drama series of all time. With a rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, on top of capturing a huge, dedicated audience, it managed to impress critics. The series is perfectly accurate to the 1960s and also has some very strong performances from its cast members. Despite all of its success, it was unfortunately unable to outrun one major criticism.

"Fallout" spoilers follow.
The highly anticipated "Fallout" live-action adaptation is finally here and it lives up to expectations. This is a post-apocalyptic story that is simple enough to be universal — a girl searching for her kidnapped father, while multiple stories converge around a bounty. And yet, much like James Cameron's "Avatar," it is the worldbuilding that is the star. This is not Pandora, of course, but the wasteland, a nuclear landscape that is still as tangible as George Miller's "Mad Max" world, full of history and lore.
The show brings the games to life through some exquisite production design. Every aspect of the wasteland, from the ruins of the old world to the many mutated creatures roaming it, to the game's unique brands scattered throughout, and the detailed vaults that safeguard the remnants of non-radiated humanity. Like the games, there's a lot of visual storytelling going on here,...

"Borderlands" is one of the most popular video game franchises of the 2000s. Now, it's becoming a movie, with Lionsgate hoping to turn it into a franchise for the big screen. Directed by Eli Roth, this video game adaptation has been in the works for a long, long time, but it's finally hitting theaters this summer. That being the case, the studio brought some new footage from the film to this year's CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and I was on hand to see what Roth cooked up.

Charlize Theron proved to be a fine action star appearing in Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde, and several other remarkable action-packed films. But doing action movies is not always easy, and Theron has endured the nightmarish effects of it on her body and mind.

Still, there is no stopping for the actor. She puts herself up to every challenge possible despite the inherent cons attached to it. On-set injuries are not new to the actor as she was almost paralyzed after a neck injury after filming a scene in the 2005 Karyn Kusama-directed sci-fi action flick, Æon Flux. But she sustained permanent damage to her body after working in a film by the John Wick director.

After Jim Samples, the Cartoon Network executive who oversaw the greenlighting of such successful cartoons as "Samurai Jack," "Ben 10," "Codename: Kids Next Door," and "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy," left, a new regime at the popular animation-focused cable channel changed tactics. When Stuart Snyder took over in mid-2007, he had a brand new mandate for Cartoon Network — no weird stuff.
Speaking with Buzzfeed, "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" creator Thurop Van Orman recalled Snyder saying, "'We don't want anything weird or anything where any mom would come out of the kitchen and say, 'What are you watching?'"
Now, this is not to say that Snyder failed at that command, or that his definition of the word "weird" is different than this writer's, but his tenure was filled with shows you could call "weird" and would make a mom say "What are you watching?"

The Avengers: Infinity War chronicle might have ended, but the theories surrounding the characters and subsequent films still keep coming. Thanos was the main villain of the saga, and he wreaked havoc across the galaxy. As the Mad Titan went on a rampage to achieve his goals, the Avengers did everything in their power to stop him. Unfortunately, the heroes failed, and half of them got obliterated along with half the universe during the Blip.
Thanos was the classic villain who brought the Avengers to their knees. While his actions to restore balance to the universe were certainly extreme, what if he was driven by something else? A new theory suggests that it might have been because he was a Deviant.

With cameras set to roll on Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic this year, it’s only a matter of time before we find out who will play the titular character. A handful of names have circled the role, like Paul Walter Hauser, but that one fell apart due to last year’s industry strikes. As you might remember, Gillis was hired and fired within one week back in 2019, when it was discovered that he had used racist and homophobic slurs on his podcast the year prior. In his book “The Films in My Life,” director and enthusiast François Truffaut wrote, “I demand that a film express either the joy of making cinema or the agony of making cinema.” Juan Pablo Reinoso’s new documentary “Mad Props” satisfies Truffaut’s criteria beautifully, expressing not only the joy of making cinema but also the joy of watching cinema, exploring both through the eyes of Tom Biolchini, an Oklahoma banker who obsessively collects movie props. Reinoso follows Biolchini as he travels the world meeting other collectors who lovingly display their acquisitions, everything from Indiana Jones’ whip to various title characters from Joe Dante‘s “Gremlins” to an entire house from “The Outsiders” purchased by House of Pain’s Danny Boy O’Connor and filled with artifacts from that Francis Coppola classic. As the film progresses, Reinoso broadens his scope to include interviews with actors and various prop and creature makers...

Founded by Maxwell Gaines in 1944, the Entertaining Comics brand (a.k.a. EC Comics) initially specialized in educational comics and stories aimed at children. But after Gaines died in a boating accident in ’47, his 25-year-old son William took control of the company and changed its direction, exploring the genres of horror, sci-fi, and satire while bringing us classic titles like Tales from the Crypt, The Vault of Horror, The Haunt of Fear, Weird Science, Weird Fantasy, and Mad. Sadly, EC Comics was at its peak when parents started to worry about the negative effects reading comic books could have on their children, leading to things like a Congressional hearing that blamed comic books for juvenile delinquency – a claim that was backed up by the book Seduction of the Innocent, written by psychiatrist Fredric Wertham. So by 1956, EC Comics ceased publishing all of their titles except for Mad. Those classic EC...

In the early 1950s, EC Comics was the bad boy of comic publishers. Its comics such as Tales From the Crypt, Weird Science and Two-Fisted Tales sold millions in mid-century America. Unfortunately, its stories — at times shocking, horrifying, and even progressive — also drew scrutiny and backlash, and the company found itself in the cross hairs of censorship and regulation at the height of the McCarthy era. The company ultimately shuttered, with the last comic hitting newsstands and drug stores in 1956.
Now, seventy years after the creation of the self-regulatory body Comics Code Authority, the infamous comics company is blasting out of the crypt and returning with a brand new line of comics.
Oni Press, the publisher perhaps best known for the breakout indie hit Scott Pilgrim, has partnered with William M. Gaines Agent, Inc., the rights holders of the EC line, to launch all-new stories with A-list comics creators beginning this summer.

In the basement of a car dealership in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District last spring, The Messenger chairman and CEO Jimmy Finkelstein addressed a throng of New York’s media elite. Finkelstein was there to unveil his grand plans for a new website that he claimed would revolutionize the news, talking a big game in the process.
“When I was at The Hill, we did 125 million visits a month,” he told the gathering that featured media heavyweights Barry Diller, Kara Swisher, Chris Licht and Jen Psaki. “It was the second highest political site next to CNN. That’s with 70ish journalists and maybe 90 people in the editorial. Here, we are going to have hundreds of journalists. We are not just covering politics, we are covering sports, we are covering business, we are covering entertainment. So it’s hard to imagine why we couldn’t do it.”

1990s sketch series The Fast Show is hitting the road for a 30th anniversary tour around the UK, and here are the details.
When talking about British comedy in the 1990s, it is impossible to overstate the impact of The Fast Show. With a plethora of characters that have successfully stood the test of time, the series itself stands up remarkably well to repeat viewings.
Although many of the characters were well known for their catchphrases – has anybody ever been measured up for a suit in the last thirty years without being able to resist the temptation to say “suits you sir! – there was a darker edge to the writing.
A good example is Rowley Birkin, a Paul Whitehouse character who is usually played as a babbling alcoholic. The final episode of series two features an unusually restrained performance, where the audience stops laughing and are stunned into silence as...

Kevin Spacey is set to make his first convention appearance next month, appearing at the Mad Monster Party in North Carolina less than one year after he was acquitted of sexual assault charges. However, the reaction from fans attending the convention has been mixed to say the least.
In a Facebook post from Mad Monster, the group announced that Kevin Spacey will be available for a few gimmicky photo ops for fans, “Mad Monster is excited to welcome Two-Time Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey. Kevin will be joining us all 3 days, and he does Not offer table selfies. We will be offering House of Cards, The Usual Suspects “Line Up,” and Se7en “What’s in the Box?” Pro Photo-Ops.” According to TMZ, the photos – which can only be taken by the professional on-hand – will cost $225.

On Jan. 19, 2001, Stacy Peralta’s skateboarding documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys lit up the Sundance Film Festival, going on to earn multiple honors in Park City and, later, a feature film treatment, Lords of Dogtown. The Hollywood Reporter’s original review is below:
Where the debris meets the sea, that’s the tight scope on Dogtown and Z-Boys. It’s a wild ride with eight boarders from Venice Beach, Calif., that was a deserved co-winner of the Audience Award for documentaries at the Sundance Film Festival. Director Stacy Peralta also deservedly garnered the director honor in the documentary category.
Carved through the waves and asphalt of Venice, Dogtown follows the daring exploits of a tight-‘n’-tough band of wayward teens, outsiders who assaulted the softblue world of ’70s surfing. Hardened from single-parent homes and charged with pent-up energies, they took to the waves with a take-no-prisoners style.

This article contains spoilers for Fargo season 5 episode 10 and No Country for Old Men.
After an underwhelming fourth season, FX’s Fargo found excellence again with season 5. The fifth season of this anthology series inspired by the Coen Brothers’ film and created by TV auteur Noah Hawley returned to the “present” (or 2019 at least) for an inspired yarn about family, debt, and the creeping fascistic rot in small town America.
The cast was at the top of their game including Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) as the resourceful Dorothy “Dot” Lyon and Jon Hamm (Mad Men) as “constitutional” sheriff Roy Tillman. Fargo season 5 didn’t need to stick the landing for its 10-episode saga about Dot winning her life back from the abusive Roy to have weight. Still, a good ending would have been one hell of a bonus. That ending arrives in the final episode “Bisquik” and thankfully, it’s a good one.

Jim Caviezel stars as the real-life campaigner Tim Ballard in a dull film that has become a US box office sensation
This peculiar film features a notably wooden lead performance from Jim Caviezel, best known for playing Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ. It has become a US box office sensation and an explosive campaign document, a phenomenon similar in its way to the once hugely popular viral video Kony 2012, which demanded the fugitive Ugandan cult leader Joseph Kony be arrested. Sound of Freedom is about child sex trafficking, based on the reminiscences of anti-trafficking activist and campaigner Tim Ballard, and stars Caviezel as Ballard, who quits his job at a toothless US government agency to rescue a young girl from a Colombian sex-trafficking cartel.
All decent people share a fundamental horror and outrage at child sexual abuse. But not everyone will share Caviezel’s QAnon-type...

I like to think that I am a pretty good driver. I first got my license over 13 years ago, and in that time, I have never been in a car accident or even been given a speeding ticket. Driving is fun for me. But I've never been the kind of person who has wanted to drive some highly powered sports car really fast down an open highway or go off-road in some behemoth to prove how rugged I am. A nice drive at a reasonable speed. That's good for me.
So I could never work on a "Mad Max" movie. The amount of skill, dexterity, trust in your collaborators, and love of thrills required to succeed in George Miller's high-octane apocalyptic world would be far too much for most people. I know I couldn't deal with the pressure and...

If you don't know him by name, you almost certainly know Vernon Wells by his face if you're a fan of '80s movies. He was Bennett, the Aussie villain with the chainmail tank top and Freddie Mercury mustache in "Commando," and he scared the pants off kids as Mr. Igoe, the sinister hitman with an interchangeable hand in "Innerspace." Or you may remember him as Lord General, the crazed leader of a mutant biker gang that crashes the party in "Weird Science."
Wells' career as one of Hollywood's go-to bad guys at the time was made possible by his ferocious performance as Wez, the psychotic henchman in "The Road Warrior," George Miller's sequel to his low-budget smash, "Mad Max." This time around, a bigger budget enabled the director to go bigger, faster, wilder, and weirder than his original vision. This time, our hero Max Rocktansky is battling a...

While John Woo’s Face/Off is probably best remembered for its over-the-top acting, silly plot and (mostly) well-choreographed action, its director wants you to know that it’s far more of a comedy than people give it credit for. Why? Well, to quote Nicolas Cage’s Castor Troy: Take one goddamn guess.
In a new interview with Vulture, Face/Off helmer John Woo this came about as the movie was being developed, saying, “In the meantime [of changing the time frame in which the movie is set], I started to make it like a comedy. Or a comedylike movie, not a real comedy. I’m a big fan of Mad magazine. The characters in my movies sometimes feel like characters from there. The whole thing is so ridiculous. People who can change their faces — it’s so unreal. But I had to make it a believable story, so that’s why I let my actors be carefree and do whatever they wanted.

A locked-room murder mystery anchored by an eccentric detective, The Afterparty is one of many comedy-mysteries to surface in the wake of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out. But the Apple TV+ series sets itself apart with a distinctly meta sense of humor that’s typical of creator Christopher Miller and producer Phil Lord’s work together. When Tiffany Haddish’s excitable Detective Danner moves into investigative mode, she imagines each person’s testimony as a pastiche of a different movie. Think Rashomon meets Mad magazine.
Where Johnson’s Glass Onion brought back Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc for a new adventure with a brand new cast of characters, the second season of The Afterparty both retains its central sleuth and brings back two characters from the previous season, Aniq (Sam Richardson) and Zoë (Zoë Chao). If I had asked you to name a film from the early 1990s that featured groundbreaking visuals effects that changed the landscape of cinema, you probably answer with Jurassic Park. But what if I told you that instead of dinosaurs, an earlier pioneer in visual effects was a satirical black comedy involving Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and a magic potion? Yep, that’s right. That film does indeed exist and is none other than Death Becomes Her. Directed by the legendary Robert Zemeckis and co-written by David Koepp and Martin Donovan. The idea came to Koepp back when he was working on another film, which featured a story about a man’s attempts to kills his wife, who turns out to be a witch and cannot die. And of course, the witch has an axe to grind now that she knows her husband tried to off her. That idea later developed into Death Becomes Her.

Upon its release in 2014, there was a ton of acclaim thrown at the feet of David Fincher’s twisty thriller, “Gone Girl.” While a ton of recognition, including an Oscar nomination, was given to Rosamund Pike’s lead performance, there were many who saw Ben Affleck as one of the best parts of the film, playing the husband on the search for his missing wife. But, as famous and talented as Affleck is, he wasn’t the first choice for the co-lead of the Fincher film.

Plot: Swiss mountain girl Heidi is abducted by brutal government troops and must defend herself and fight a war against a cheese-fueled machinery of hate.
Review: I wasn’t familiar with the Heidi character before Mad Heidi but I know she’s quite ingrained in the childhood of many Europeans. So I can only imagine the reaction of someone who grew up with this character, only to see her kick so much ass. Because this is a revenge story more akin to Kill Bill than something you’d be reading to your children at night. From a crazy dictator who thinks the biggest crime in the world is being lactose intolerant to an officer with a very specific kink, this is exploitation in every way. And that’s why I had such a blast with it.

If the trailer for Mad Heidi doesn’t get your blood pumping for some fun Grindhouse cinema then I don’t know what will. Mad Heidi comes to us in a hail of gunfire and explosions for just One Night Only via Fathom Events. I was fortunate enough to be able to talk with Mad Heidi herself Alice Lucy as well as the main antagonist of the film played by Casper Van Dien. This was one of the most fun interviews of my career as they clearly loved the project and the end result. From finding out that all of the officer badges had the names of famous directors to discovering that Casper is lactose intolerant (a massive crime in the film), there are lots of fun revelations here. And you can never go wrong with Casper calling you out for seeing him naked. Check out the fun interview embedded below.

Jon Hamm was supposed to star in 2014 thriller 'Gone Girl' instead of Ben Affleck. The 52-year-old actor has revealed he signed up for the role of Nick Dunne opposite Rosamund Pike in David Fincher's movie but he had quit the project due to a scheduling clash as he needed to focus on filming his hit TV show 'Mad Men' . During an appearance on an episode of 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', Jon opened up about walking away from the movie role, saying: "Yeah [it was supposed to be me]. I was down to the very end of that. It was meant to be me, but we had to film the continuing adventures of ['Mad Men' character] Mr. Draper."However, Jon remains adamant he was more suited to the role than Ben Affleck because the lead character was from St Louis - the same city where the actor...

George Miller's "The Road Warrior" (aka "Mad Max 2") is a perfect action movie from a filmmaker unencumbered by convention. The film opens with a hallucinatory, newsreel-like recap of the first movie shot in the boxy academy ratio. This sequence reframes the post-apocalyptic realism of "Mad Max" as the stuff of cinematic myth. Mel Gibson's Max is no longer just a cop driven to extrajudicial means due to the murder of his family. He's a man of the Outback, a hard-driving drifter in search of petrol and food. And once this prelude concludes, we are thrust into the widescreen expanse of Max's open-road existence. It's one of the most exhilarating transitions in the whole of cinema history.
"The Road Warrior" was also a global hit, which necessitated a third film. "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" would be a full-scale studio production with twice the budget of the previous movie.
