Exclusive: Emmy and Golden Globe winner Edie Falco has reteamed with her Nurse Jackie director Brendan Walsh on I’ll Be Right There — an indie comedy written by Jim Beggarly (Free Samples), which has wrapped production in New York.
Others set to star in the pic include Oscar nominee Jeannie Berlin (The Fabelmans), Charlie Tahan (Ozark), Independent Spirit Award nominee Kayli Carter (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Michael Rapaport (Only Murders in the Building), Michael Beach (Dahmer), Sepideh Moafi (Black Bird) and Emmy winner Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale).
I’ll Be Right There follows a single mother, Wanda (Falco), who has her hands full to say the least: her eight month pregnant daughter (Carter) wants a wedding, her mother (Berlin) thinks she’s dying, her wayward son (Tahan) is either going into rehab or the army, and she barely has time for herself, not that she would know what to do with it anyway.

“The first time I bought a house — a home — was, like, a week ago,” Saba says, tightening up for his laptop’s camera after gently rocking with laughter. He’s positioned in front of a blank white wall of his new Los Angeles abode. At one point, he darts off camera to ensure he’s ready for the people coming to work on the place today.

Welcome back to This Week In Discs! If you see something you like, click on the title to buy it from Amazon. Bounty Killer The future! Corporations grew too powerful and went to war with each other with the real victims being the rest of society. A council was organized to issue bounties on the heads of CEOs responsible for the apocalypse, and Drifter (Matthew Marsden) and Mary Death (Christian Pitre) are two of the best bounty killers to answer the call. Throw in an army of Juggalo-like Gypsies, Gary Busey, and the female Terminator from Rise of the Machines (Kristanna Loken), and the two bounty killers are forced into a surprising fight for their own lives. This low budget, post-apocalyptic action/comedy packs more fun, creativity, and clear love for movies into its ninety minute run-time than far too many big Hollywood productions manage these days. Sure there’s overly excessive CGI abuse (some of the...

A rather typical ratings bulletin today with a smattering of titles we've never heard of, a couple of recognizable direct-to-video titles such as Hatchet III and Danny Trejo's Vengeance, then a few of note such as the PG-13 for The Wolverine, a grisly R-rating for You're Next and then a PG for Disney's animated Cars spinoff, Planes. The R-rating for Zachary Heinzerling's documentary Cutie and the Boxer (August 16) is interesting seeing how it's for "nude art images". At some point can't we just admit that everyone has seen someone nakedc Here's the trailer. The complete bulletin follows: Apartment 1303 Rated R For language, some violent content and brief sexuality. Battle Ground Rated R For war violence and grisly images. Cutie And The Boxer Rated R For nude art images. Danny Trejo's Vengeance Rated R For strong violence, language and some nudity. Free Samples Rated R For brief language. Gloria Rated R For sexual content,...

Watch Tippi Hedren reflect on a gay husband in this clip from the dramedy Free Samples, available via video on demand today.
Well, here’s something thrilling. In the indie comic drama Free Samples, Betty (played by the radiant Tippi Hedren) has a heart-to-heart with protagonist Jillian (Jess Weixler of Teeth) that involves a confession about a gay husband. Check out our clip above, where Tippi’s candor about her husband’s sexuality is both refreshing and funny.
The movie concerns “a law school drop-out (Weixler) who fills in as a server on a friend’s food truck, where she doles out free samples of ice cream. The job tests her patience, and while she figures out what to do with her life, she finds herself being courted by a young man (Jesse Eisenberg) whom she barely remembers from the night before.” Aw, Jesse Eisenberg. You’re one of my non-gay husbands.

If you’ve somehow avoided the charms of actress Jess Weixler thus far, this first trailer for Jay Gammill‘s Free Samples may grate on your nerves. Who is this flighty chick fucking up something as simple as giving out free samples of ice cream from a truck? Who is this young lass breaking Jesse Eisenberg‘s heart? Who drops out of law school to be a loser? Why should I care? You should care precisely because it’s Weixler who is playing shiftless leading lady Jillian as said law-school-drop-out-ice-cream-loser and she is nothing short of consistently wonderful throughout her myriad indie roles. From The Lie to Peter and Vandy to Teeth (yup, that’s her!), Weixler is the best thing about every film she’s ever starred in, so if she’s headlining a lo-fi outing about ice cream shilling and deferred dreams, we’re sold. No wonder Eisenberg wants to get into “the good stuff...

After scoring his first Academy Award nomination with the Mark Zuckerberg biopic The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg took a break from drama with comedies like 30 Minutes or Less, Free Samples and To Rome With Love. But with his next funny feature Now You See Me poised to hit theaters this summer, Eisenberg is looking to dig back into drama with the atomic bomb-centered Midnight Sun. Reporting from the European Film Market, Screen Daily reveals Eisenberg will front the film alongside Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds) and Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild). Written and directed by actor turned filmmaker Chris Eigeman, its story is set in 1943 America. Fresh from graduate school, two young people (presumably Eisenberg and Hirsch) are recruited by the government for a top-secret project that will take them away from the jazz-soaked atmosphere of New York, and into the deserts of New Mexico. Kruger is expected to play one...

There are plenty of reasons Woody Allen cast Jesse Eisenberg to be play a fictionalized version of himself in "To Rome With Love," a charming, omnibus portrait of life in Italy's picturesque capital. They're both relentless workers (Allen makes a film a year, Eisenberg says he's going to do a play a year), they're both famous for being quirky (regardless of how reductive that characterization is), and, well, they cut a similar figure.
But Allen comparisons aside, Eisenberg is a star in his own right. After rocketing to fame on the strength of his performance as Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network," the 29-year-old Queens native has added a string of fun roles to his resume, including a memorable voice gig in "Rio" (and the forthcoming "Rio 2") and a turn in "30 Minutes or Less," a comedy in which he held his own in the company of Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride.

For my money, with lead actors like James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain there’s almost no way it could be a disappointing film, or films.
Ned Benson (In Defiance of Gravity) wrote the two scripts and will direct both films. The impressive cast also includes William Hurt (Into the Wild), Viola Davis (The Help), Jess Weixler (Free Samples), Bill Hader (SNL), Ciarán Hinds (Munich), and Nina Arianda (Midnight in Paris).
The first poster and synopsis for the dramas told in two parts – The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers have found their way online.
I assume that poster and synopsis may be an unofficial leak because they have been removed from the film’s websites at the request of the studio.
There’s no release date for the film just yet.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby is one of the more intriguing projects coming our way next year.
Told in two parts – The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers – the dramas see James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain star in the leads, and now the first poster has found its way online.
“Two films – interwoven to complete one story. Set in the hip areas of New York City, we follow the paths of Eleanor Rigby and her husband Conor. When Eleanor suddenly disappears back to her family home and avoids all contact with Conor, we question what broke down the relationship that once seemed so right.”
Starring alongside McAvoy and Chastain is an impressive cast, headed up by William Hurt (Into the Wild), Viola Davis (The Help), Jess Weixler (Free Samples), Bill Hader (SNL), Ciarán Hinds (Munich), and Nina Arianda (Midnight in Paris).

Even though he's not even two years removed from his Best Actor Oscar nomination for The Social Network, Jesse Eisenberg has felt weirdly absent lately. It might because when he was playing Mark Zuckerberg he was absolutely everywhere, and since then he's appeared only in tiny movies (Free Samples, Why Stop Now) or small studio films that nobody saw (30 Minutes Or Less, To Rome With Love). Ok, he also voiced one of the birds in Rio, but that barely even counts. Anyway, Eisenberg is on his way back early next year in the magician heist thriller Now You See Me, but much more intriguing is his team-up with Submarine director Richard Ayoade for The Double, a loose adaptation of a novel by Dostoevsky. Eisenberg stars as an ordinary man who slowly loses his grip on reality when he encounters his doppelgänger, and we've now got our first look at ...

While most of Austin, Texas is currently busy gearing up for Fantastic Fest (including our own Fantastic Fest Death Squad), we’d be remiss to not mention that another one of Atx’s homegrown film festivals, the concisely-named Austin Film Festival, has just released their lineup. And it’s a real beauty! The festival, kicking off in just under a month, will open with David Chase’s Not Fade Away and will also include screenings of such buzzed-about titles as Flight, Silver Linings Playbook, The Sessions, Quartet, and The Sapphires. The festival has yet to announce their Closing Night Film, but with such an already-strong lineup, it should be a doozy. After the break, take a look at the current feature-length lineup for the 2012 Austin Film Festival and Conference, including listings for their comedy and documentary sections. Following our looks at actors, actresses, screenwriters and directors to watch in recent months, when the time came to put together a list of cinematographers (as we did two years ago), we went in with an open mind. But what was interesting is realizing, after the fact, that in an era where 35mm film is allegedly being phased out, that all five have done perhaps their most distinctive work on old-fashioned celluloid, rather than digital.
All have worked in digital of course, at least in the commercial world, and some have done hugely impressive work on new formats. But most of our five are fierce advocates for good 'ol 35mm, and it's another sign that the death knell shouldn't be rung for the old ways just yet. As long as there are talented DoPs like the ones below, and on the following pages, working closely with filmmakers like Paul Thomas Anderson,...

The desire to control every personal relationship and learning to trust those who offer genuine friendship are daily struggles people often face as young adults. Once people can learn to make reasonable expectations for their relationships, they'll realize they can find their way in the world. Such is the case with the lead character Jillian in the new comedy-drama Free Samples, directed by first-time filmmaker Jay Gammill.

That's it. It's a wrap. The Tribeca Film Festival is over for another 12 months. And while it was an improvement from years past, despite a promising line-up the festival proved to be somewhat disappointing: most of the best regarded films ("2 Days In New York," "Take This Waltz," Searching For Sugar Man" being three prime examples) had premiered elsewhere, while the more high-profile, star-laden of their world or North American exclusives landed with a thud.
However, even while the festival still grapples with its own identity, there were some real gems in the line-up: there are a few films that justify whatever else we had to sit through in the course of the last few weeks. And let's not forget the festival did secure "The Avengers" and "The Five-Year Engagement," two films we loved (though try and ask any civillian who got into either and you'll hear a lot of crickets). Interview With Jess Weixler On Free Samples [Tribeca Film Festival]
In today's tough economic market, recent college graduates often struggle to find their place in the professional world and figure out what they want to do with the rest of their lives. Life becomes even harder when people have difficulty learning to trust others who are offering genuine friendship and guidance. Sometimes it takes a glimpse into what life could be like for people to finally overcome their psychological struggles and learn to live again. This happens with lead character Jillian in the new comedy-drama Free Samples, as she begins to reevaluate her life when she's presented with the chance to let her guard down.

Free Samples, directed by Jay Gammill, feels like a short film stretched out in to feature length, to only a mild degree of success. Starring indie darling Jess Weixler as Jillian, the film serves as a chamber movie of sorts, if a desolate parking lot can be a chamber. We open with Jillian on another drunken night, bullshitting with friend Nancy (Halley Feiffer), Nancy’s dumbbell boyfriend Wally (Jason Ritter) and a charming stranger they call Tex (Jesse Eisenberg).
Cut to the morning after. Jillian wakes up naked and hungover in Nancy’s apartment, only to find out her friend needs a big favor: sub for her in handing out free samples of a new ice cream-esque type of dessert all day. Without much of a choice, Jillian concedes.

Warning: You don’t want to be anywhere near Jillian if she has a hangover, hasn’t had her morning coffee, has to work on an ice cream truck for the day or if you’re in need of stamps. Sure, it’s fun to watch Jillian torment all of the customers at Mike’s Dream with her sour attitude, but lucky for me, Jess Weixler herself was quite the opposite and thrilled to talk about her Tribeca Film Festival entry Free Samples. Weixler is Jillian, a law school dropout with little to do, but drink and give everyone around her a taste of her snarky personality. After a heavy night of drinking, Jillian’s best friend, Nancy (Halley Feiffer), wakes her far too early to beg her to operate her ice cream truck for the day so she can tend to family matters. Following up on last week's preview of the Tribeca Film Festival (site), this'll be the entry that'll carry us through to Sunday. Introducing Slant's package of reviews, Ed Gonzalez argues that Tribeca "has blossomed from a celebration of the Big Apple as a filmmaking center into a great facilitator and promoter of international film and video culture." The Los Angeles Times' Steven Zeitchik agrees that it's "a prime venue to discover international films." More packages and lists: Smithsonian Magazine's Daniel Eagan ("What to See"), indieWIRE ("12 New Films We're Excited For"), Filmmaker's Scott Macaulay ("25 Films I'm Looking Forward To"), Movies.com ("20 Most Anticipated Movies"), Time's Lily Rothman ("Top 15 Chatter-Worthy Films"), Time Out New York and Twitch ("Top 15 Picks").

Even the tiniest indie movies can get big publicity at a film festival like the Tribeca Film Festival. Over the weekend, reporters from outlets large and small congregated in the hallways on the 12th floor of the Manhattan hotel where the stars and director of “Free Samples” were doing interviews and photo sessions. The film, a slight indie comedy directed by first-timer Jay Gammill, stars Jess Wexler, Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Ritter, Halley Feiffer and Tippi Hedren. It had its world premiere at Tribeca over the weekend and will screen again later this week. Ritter,...

A guy like Jason Ritter likely has a nice pick of leading role opportunities, but when the right material and collaborators come along, he’s got no problem taking on a supporting part like Wally in Free Samples. The film stars Jess Weixler as a law school dropout who bartends sporadically and indulges in booze herself far more regularly. After a hard night of drinking, she’s suckered into working on her friend’s ice cream truck for the day, a day that consists of no coffee, bad ice cream and a ton of customers that don’t go well with a hangover. However, a visit from her good friend Wally makes for a [ Read More ]...

A first feature is an intimidating task no matter what, but for Jay Gammill, the odds were in his favor in a lot of ways. Gammill.s film Free Samples stars Jess Weixler as Jillian, a recent law school dropout who.s drowning her sorrows in alcohol and letting anyone and everyone feel the wrath of her sour attitude. When her best friend suckers her into manning her ice cream truck for the day, Jess hands out some free samples, but not without giving every costumer a hard time. However, as the day progresses, not only does Jess encounter people she actually thinks deserve her respect, like Tippi Hedren.s former Hollywood starlet, Betty, but comes to some personal revelations as well. Not only was Gammill fortunate enough to find a writer he was totally in tune with, but he landed Weixler as his lead as well as Hedren, Jason...

For some reason, independent movies, especially the current wave of mumblecore with its earthy existentialism and waxy photographic quality, have the reputation of somehow being more “real” or “honest” than movies in the mainstream. Because these smaller movies arrive at some emotional truth more directly, they don’t have to dodge movie stars or CGI monsters. But watching a movie like USC grad Jay Gammill's “Free Samples,” which proudly wears its indieness on its sleeve like a badge of honor (when it’s really more of a disfiguring war wound), all you get are feelings of artificiality. It’s so phony and forced and cloying and cute that you wonder how anyone could misdiagnose a movie like this as being more representative of the human experience than, say, something with werewolves or Tom Cruise.

Though Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho is the Hitchcock-centric project making headlines right now, we.ve also got The Girl coming up, which focuses on the filmmaker.s notoriously tumultuous relationship with The Birds. star, Tippi Hedren. Hitchcock is long gone, so clearly star Toby Jones won.t be able to collaborate with his real-life counterpart, but Sienna Miller has had the pleasure of working with Hedren. While promoting Free Samples at the Tribeca Film Festival, Hedren elaborated on the production. .It is a very exciting thing that.s going on.. She continued, .To have a movie made about you is pretty scary.. She joked, .Because I.m still alive!. But Hedren also has a number of concerns, which you can see int he video below. .The thing that really bothered me is the director, [Julian Jarrold], didn.t want to have any kind of meetings with me.. ...

Jason Ritter is at the Tribeca Film Festival* with his new film Free Samples, in which he and his friends try to operate an ice-cream truck, but very little work actually gets done: The head of operations (played by Halley Feiffer) is busy organizing an intervention for her brother, her main helper (played by Jess Weixler) is hungover, and Ritter's character is trying to reach the ice-cream dispenser without revealing to customers that he has no pants on. The actor, who could probably use some ice cream himself since he's stuck shooting a movie in the California desert, chatted with Vulture, prior to the film's world premiere on April 20, about time travel, worshiping Fred Savage, and baring it all for co-star Jesse Eisenberg. You're in Joshua Tree shooting a movie at the moment?Yeah, Teddy Bears. With the Cannes Film Festival dominating the headlines earlier today, let's not forget that right now in New York City the Tribeca Film Festival is in full swing, offering cinephiles a host of movies making their premieres and beginning their journey through the fest circuit and eventually into theaters. And one of those films is "Free Samples," the feature debut by Jay Gammill starring Jess Weixler and Jesse Eisenberg, with an appearance from the legendary Tippi Hedren.
Taking place over the course of one day, the film tells the story of Jillian, a Stanford dropout who wakes up hungover from a night at the bar with friends and is quickly enjoined by her friend Nancy to cover her shift at an ice cream truck. Reluctantly agreeing to do the favor, Jillian spends the day engaging with the variety of oddball customers who arrive for a promotional free sample (hence the title) being given away,...

Watching the trailer for Jay Gammill’s new comedy Free Samples, one can almost hear the ghost of Clerks‘ Dante Hicks echoing in the distance – complaining, “I’m not even supposed to be here today.” The latest in a long line of dead-end job dramedies, Free Samples follows slacker twenty-something Jillian (Jess Wexler) as she fills in for her friend handing out free samples all day from inside an ice cream truck. Premiering this week in Tribeca’s Spotlight section, Gammill’s film aligns an impressive ensemble of indie notables, including Wexler, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jason Ritter.
Filmmaker: Can you talk a bit about Free Samples‘ gensis? How did you first get involved with the project? And what was the collaborative process like with writer Jim Beggarly?
Gammill: Jim Beggarly the idea of Free Samples in the spring of 2008 soon after we’d met and knew we wanted to work together.

The 2012 Tribeca Film Festival officially kicks off tonight with a screening of The Five- Year Engagement. That of course means my Tff experience officially starts tomorrow with the first of many early morning press screenings. I currently have a temporary schedule consisting of 15 films spread across 5 days. I also plan to check out some online screenings, as well as a few festival events. Since most interview opportunities seem to be falling on days when I will not be at the fest, I.ve decided to play it by ear much like last year. Also like last year, you will be able to see my Tribeca experience unfold in real-time by following @GetStuck on Twitter.

This year's Tribeca Film Festival carries one of its strongest line-ups in years. In addition to films from Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Sundance and Berlin circuit, there's also a wealth of U.S. premieres or lesser-known festival movies in the line-up that look just as promising this time around; after a relatively weak SXSW, it looks like the East Coast is getting some of the good stuff.
Below, you'll find 15 films that seem among the most intriguing Tribeca has to offer this year. Of course, we can't speak for their quality as yet, but they certainly look promising at this point at time. And for the record, we haven't included the high-profile opening and closing films -- "The Five-Year Engagement" and "The Avengers" -- partly because they're getting more than enough attention elsewhere, and partly because we've already seen both (although can't review them just yet -- keep your eyes peeled...

Among the notable premieres at this year's Tribeca Film Fest is the Jay Gammill-directed Free Samples, which stars Jess Weixler (Teeth) as a slacker covering a day-long shift at her friend's ice-cream truck. Still hung-over from the night before and jonesing for a cup of coffee that never comes, Weixler has to deal with a host of quirky customers, including a persistent Jesse Eisenberg, who met Weixler during her debauched night and now hopes to ask her out for an actual date. In this exclusive clip, Eisenberg tries to pitch Weixler on a Mexican restaurant, but she's not quite having it. Free Samples will have its world premiere on April 20 ... and Jesse, if your woo-pitching comes to naught, call Vulture: We'd be happy to treat you to some margaritas.

Academy Award-nominated actors Annette Bening and Ed Harris, and Academy Award-winner Robin Williams will be joined by Amy Brenneman and Jess Weixler in Arie Posin.s romantic drama Look Of Love. Posin is directing the project that he co-wrote with scribe Matthew McDuffie. Mockingbird Pictures. Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis are producers. Principal photography begins shooting in Los Angeles on April 9.
The majority of financing for the project was found in Dallas, Texas, where Curtis and Lynn previously sourced funds for the critically acclaimed Albert Nobbs, which earned three Academy Award nominations this past season including Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for Glenn Close.
Look Of Love is the story of a widow named Nikki (Bening) who, several years after the loss of her husband Garrett, meets a man named Tom (Harris) who looks exactly like her deceased spouse. Suddenly, a flood of old feelings rush...

Tribeca: Tell us a little about Free Samples. How would you describe the movie in your own words? Jay Gammill: Free Samples is a film about finding yourself. I think we've all experienced times when our idea of what our life should look like is at odds with what it actually is, but eventually life intervenes, and so this film is about the journey through the wayward moments. It confronts that journey front and center, and through Jillian, the main character, it pokes some fun at it. Everyone makes choices in life, be they good or bad, and those moments of decision are the ones that matter. I think this film really says that this happens to everyone. Tribeca: Every Generation Y-er can relate to Free Samples. Was it the fact that Jim Beggarly's script addressed a much-shared experience that drew you to the project? Jay Gammill: Well,...

The San Francisco International Film Festival unveiled the lineup and program for its 55th edition yesterday, 174 films in all, from 45 countries. Sfiff's not a festival that places much emphasis on premieres, but one that it is touting is The Fourth Dimension, a collection of three shorts by Harmony Korine, Alexsei Fedorchenko (Silent Souls) and Jan Kwiecinski, screening April 20 and four days later at the Tribeca Film Festival (Sfiff runs from April 19 through May 3, Tribeca from April 18 through 29).
The Hollywood Reporter debuted the trailer on Monday; and, for Sfiff, Cheryl Eddy fills us in: "Created under a 'manifesto' whose directives would make Lars von Trier shudder, this three-part film might look on paper like an exercise in forced hipness…. Working under orders tall, whimsical (according to the manifesto, a stuffed animal must make an appearance no matter what) and surreal, Korine's Lotus Community Workshop drops Val Kilmer in an alternate-universe existence...

The 11th Tribeca Film Festival is only a few weeks away, and will feature plenty of indie movies vying for audience attention and studio distribution, so credit newcomer director Jay Gammill and Film Market for getting the word out early on their quirky comedy "Free Samples." The film stars Jess Weixler — known most notably for staging a war on penises in Mitchell Lichtenstein's 2007 horror-comedy "Teeth" — as a Stanford law-school dropout who gets stuck working in an ice cream truck for a day and is distracted by every goofy weirdo in town while she tries to figure out what to do with her life. Among those distractions is Jason Ritter (who also worked with Weixler in the 2009 romantic drama "Peter and Vandy") and Jesse Eisenberg, who could be Weixler's love interest in the movie (or could just appear in a handful of scenes).

Food trucks are so in right now, but working in one is no joke.
Meet Jillian, the anti-heroine of "Free Samples." Her life is a mess, and at the moment she's in charge of an ice cream truck despite a monster hangover and some rather poor decisions the night before. Or, in general, since she's dropped out of law school and bellied up to the bar.
"Free Samples" stars Jess Weixler as Jillian, Jesse Eisenberg as a would-be suitor, Halley Feiffer ("Bored to Death," "The Squid and the Whale") as Jillian's well-meaning friend and Jason Ritter as one of her unwitting customers/victims.
Jess Weixler first caught our eye in the horror/comedy "Teeth" about a teen who discovers she's got a rather biting problem between her legs. While she's appeared in indie films since then, it will be great to see her star in another feature, and hopefully this...

Since breaking out in Zombieland and especially The Social Network, I’ve been impressed with Jesse Eisenberg‘s career choices. He’s been able to balance low-budget indies like Predisposed and Free Samples, for which we have a trailer today, along with more mainstream dramas and comedies like 30 Minutes or Less or Woody Allen‘s next film.
Premiering at Tribeca Film Festival, Eisenberg co-stars in Jay Gammill‘s Free Samples, a dramedy which sees Teeth star Jess Weixler as the lead. The story looks like your basic quirky indie project, following a lead character who learns about herself thanks to a cast of colorful characters. Thankfully the ensemble is strong with Eisenberg, Jason Ritter, Matt Walsh and more, making it one to seek out at the festival. Check out the trailer and poster below via THR.

Upcoming indie comedy-drama Free Samples isn’t a film I knew much about beyond the name until just watching the trailer a moment ago. Having done that, I’m now already hoping it’ll get picked up for distribution soon.
The film is making its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival next month, and with a cast including Jess Weixler (Teeth*) in the lead, supported by Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) and Jason Ritter (Parenthood), I’m really hoping it will turn out as good as this trailer looks.
