This feeling of nostalgia
max_kirchi19 April 2023
This episode just carried you through, experiencing a night with each of the guys and it felt like you were in the middle of it.

It had that old and good feeling of a class trip, when you were up to so much shenanigans and settling into such cities as Amsterdam, exploring the area and just having a good time with your friends.

Capturing that feeling, adding in important story plots, good and important deeptalk, and the most beautiful bromance moments is really something only Ted Lasso can do.

Perhaps my favorite episode so far and I just found it incredibly unfortunate that this night had to end at some point.

I will definitely watch it again so many times to just feel good.

These are our characters
ossie8520 April 2023
This episode is yet another great display of the show's talent for character development. The writing is absolutely superb, and the characters are so beautifully crafted that they come to life in front of your eyes.

Ted has been lost this season, and wondering what his worth is. This feels like the episode where it all turns around for him.

The way the episode is structured is also very effective in character development. We visit each character, pair or group, and get to see what makes them special.

If you're a fan of character-driven stories, you'll find this episode to be an absolute gem.

Indisputably, the best episode of the series so far
godsnames20 April 2023
The spirit it radiates, the feelgood factor is just amazing. It draws a smile on your face whatever you want it or not. Also, the story-line, how it develops out of the blue, is engaging and exciting at the same time.

Many of us, I believe, have the experience when you were just dropped into a situation you didn't even know it was there, and then just went with it like a fluff in the wind, ending up in a life changing moment.

This episode reminds you that and I love it for it. All the characters are well drilled into the story playing their best. I fell in love with Hannah Waddingham and that cheeky b@stard Phil Dunster for sure.

What an episode! 10/10 for the writers.

Totally loved it

This is the best episode of Ted Lasso I have seen so far. Yes I live in Amsterdam and that's making it special, but if they all went on the train to Paris instead it still would have been a special episode. I loved Beard after hours in Londen because of its quirkyness and this episode partially has the same atmosphere. But it has more to offer. There's lots of kindness between the team members, the boss and her Dutch saviour on a house boat, Jamie and Roy on a bike and Ted while enjoying Museum Night. And in the end Ted sees the light. No more spoilers here except it it turns out Beard speeks Dutch. That is really gezellig. Great episode.

This is... Ted Lasso at its finest.

Warning: Spoilers
I would personally like to thank every single person that worked on this episode to the bottom of my heart. From the actors and writers to the editors and producers, i thank you deeply. Whilst this could by a negative person be considered a 'filler' episode, i could not disagree more. This episode has shown some serious bonding between Higgins and Will, Jamie and Roy, and most of all Colin and Trent. And then there are the great moments with the rest of the team not being able to figure out what to do. This show is about football, sure, but most of all its about the people in the team. How they live, bond, and grow as people and i feel like this episode is a great example of what makes this show as a whole amazing.

Also as a Dutchman that lives fairly close to Amsterdam, i think that the way they showed Amsterdam to be was great. I know a lot of people see it as purely a vacation destination with weed and prostitutes and we got that point of view with Zoreaux/Van Damme and i guess somewhat coach Beard, but i like that they showed different sides of our amazing city too. So again, i am very happy and grateful for the Ted Lasso team that made this episode. To me, this is the best episode so far. And for a show that is already as great as Ted Lasso, that's high praise.

P. S.

Not sure if i used high praise correctly, so go easy on me.

This was simply the best episode
marcovinicio-7492121 April 2023
I was moved to tears. Chet Baker, Amsterdam, the boat hose, the feeling that it doesn't matter what happens every thing will be alright...

At the beginning of the episode I thought it was a bit forced, like they wanted to create storylines for everyone out of nowhere, but after a bit you realise that is an ode to the city and to the feeling of being ok no matter what.

I won't give any spoilers, it doesn't need them. But is a very enjoyable experience, this show has always more about feeling well that about football, and with this episode you get immersed on a feeling that life wonderful. Kudos to the writers for not focusing Amsterdam on prostitutes and weed, but about being happy with who you are.

Delightful
Ted Lasso writers, actors, producers have created a delightful show that does not rely on a motif. The stories grow out of a bunch of ideas then they add some sorrow, some joy, and then hope that things will get better. It's organic - develops as it must without a lot of extraneous stuff - it's like your best and worst days in 30-50 minutes.

And though it's about a football team - the kind they play without helmets and shoulder pads - it's not a locker room drama or sports farce.

And I love that people care about each other.

This is such a relief from the constant news about children, young people, teachers, parents getting shot by high-powered guns. Ted Lasso relieves some of the pain and fear.

Absolute perfection
jamesadi1419 April 2023
For the best tv show ever made, with the absolute best characters, best story and about the greatest sport on earth. This was unbelievable.

Just watch it and smile for an hour and love ever second of it, unbelievable TV.

From Jamie teaching Roy how to ride a bike, to Rebecca finding love with a local.

The team bonding pillow fighting, Higgins tearing it up in a jazz club, beard as piggy stardust.

And Ted in the most in football place on earth... an American bar. Discovering the key to playing the best, perfect football which will hopefully turn the clubs fortunes around.

This show gets better and better and is just beyond perfection.

Top of the Table
paul-wheeldon19 April 2023
Funny, moving and heartwarming. This episode gets to the very heart of what this season, has up until this episode been missing out on.

Splitting its cast into pairs (plus the team) gives each character room to breathe and allows for some moving development.

The setting, Amsterdam allows for a fresh feel, and certainly acts as an advert for that great city.

One focus, on a certain footballer may drive some haters to give this episode a low rating. But this is a true reflection of what many professional sports players have gone through.

In summary, after a poor start, Richmond FC and Ted Lasso may well have turned a corner.

Sometimes, you have to believe.

Excellent!
henryaultman19 April 2023
For starters, this has become one of my favorite shows on TV largely due to the stellar writing crew and unparalleled cast, and this episode reminded me just why. So far, I haven't been too crazy about some of the episodes this season, it's all seemed a bit disjointed and unorganized, especially last week's story, but this was great! Fantastic writing, surprising character development, the whole thing left me feeling so content and charmed. The scene with Trent and Colin is one of the best scenes I've ever watched in a comedy. Really looking forward to next week to see what the Richmond gang get up to next!!

Top 3 of the Series, Maybe #1
navyox19 April 2023
My biggest fear with Ted Lasso was that they wouldn't be able to keep the good vibes of the first season going without getting stale and repetitive. Season 2 answered that they could, but there's always a question of how long a show can keep their winning formula going.

This episode is proof that the Ted Lasso crew is operating at peak form still. The episode managed to balance several distinct storylines with ease, never feeling like it was shorting any of them (the extra length helped, no doubt).

Somehow, they managed to not just give us everything we want right away, but also give us exactly what we need, and in some cases didn't know that we wanted. Ted and Rebecca keep getting their signals crossed which is building the tension in the classic will they/won't they dynamic that humans apparently love. Even if you are in the camp that wants them to, you have to admit that Dutch star Matteo van der Grijn is hard to dislike.

The Jamie and Roy adventure, much like the adventure with Higgins and Will, was equal parts funny and touching. But the real stars of the show were Trent and Colin. So glad they opted not do the cliched 'trusted reporter' blows up the story (at least not yet) and instead gave us the kind of achingly earnest wholesomeness that Ted Lasso is famous for. Love that they are giving more time to more characters and great actors. Sunflowers is an instant classic.

Slow..slug...fast and straight to the heart

Warning: Spoilers
I put my trust in this show and holly molly, they deliver every single time.

I am not gonna lie. This episode is really weird.

It start a little dull to the point that the first 20 min are just too generic and boring for a show like Ted Lasso.

But then, it all make sense. We are seeing real life characters in a new environment. Is almost impossible to expect them to act as usual.

The group after a big lost against Ajax, decided to spend the night in Amsterdam. So they split. And here the beauty of this episode start.

As always, this show stay true to the characters, mainly because they´re real. Not some cartoon characters. They don´t have the typical stereotipes like "the homosexual", "The womanizer" or the "Guy that do drug".

In this episode we see a real breakthrough of some characters. Especially Rebecca, Ted, Roy and Colin/Trent. They´re evolving and leaving behind their scars and transforming their weakness into strenghts.

Please, watch this episode and remember: Baby don´t worry, about a thing. Cause every little thing. Gonna be all right.

Perfect Day
beelen_894 September 2023
I assume this is what those Danielle Steele novels are like. Rebecca falls off a bridge and just happens to find love. Why was she so comfortable showering in that guy's boat? Here--have a drink Rebecca. It's only a foreign country, a complete stranger, and a dimly lit basement. Of course, in the Ted Lasso universe, there is only so much danger lurking. Even the rugged footballers are upset by the idea of "sex shows", instead yearning for tulips and sharing their feelings with each other on bicycles. They conclude their night with a spirited pillowfight. It's all in a day's work for these young stallions.

Ya like jazz?

RIP Ted Lasso - Season 3 is Dreadful
blackstars-731827 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm confused as to why this episode is so highly rated. I found it insanely boring and full of fluff - like all the other episodes this season.

Had heard for years that this show was amazing and finally gave it a watch. Season 1 and 2 were amazing. I binged through them in about a month.

Started season 3 and quickly started losing interest. I wanted to give it a fair chance but dear God, after this episode, I'm giving up. What was once a funny-heartfelt series is has turned into some Grey's Anatomy garbage.

It's not funny anymore. Gets the occasional chuckle here and there but that's it.

The relationship drama is stupid and unnecessary. Breaking up Roy and Keeley was a mistake. Her and Jack have zero chemistry and I don't but it at all. I'm also tired of Ted moping over his divorce.

The shorter format was better. The hour+ episodes are too long and drawn out.

Ted is just annoying and unlikeable at this point. He's just not cute anymore.

I find it hard to care about any of the characters anymore. They just seem very one dimensional and dead this season.

Not even sure what the first part of the season was about. The purpose of characters like Shandy and Zava were what?

Show just started taking itself too seriously. All the critical acclaim went to someone's head and they killed everything about it that once made it unique and special.

I won't be watching anymore of this show and I really hate saying that. Someone really needs to be fired for this nonsense and trashing what was once and truly great show.

Loved this episode
pad-3753319 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There was so much to like here, up to now series 3 had been a bit meh for me, ok in places, rubbish in others, but here they are back on track. Before I started watching this series, I was reluctant, I've no interest in soccer. But then a good friend told me to watch it, reminded me of something I told him about GOT, it's not about dragons!

I loved The scenes with Rebecca and Mr Boathouse, I hope we see more of him. I really do want to see Rebecca happy, her character has changed so much since the start.

Colin & Trent was so believable and understandable. Difficult to understand how anyone could cope with that big of a secret (for him, anyway). I wonder how many do, even now?

Ted's drug induced epiphany, that wasn't.

Roy & Jamie, bit like Rachel & Ross, you always knew just not when (NO, not that way :) )

The team with no curfew for a night in Amsterdam who spend so much time arguing about where to go and what to do that they never go anywhere

The characters from the start that have grown on me as the series progress, I do want to see what happens to them, and yes, I do want to see Rubert squirm, and to a lesser degree Nat (though I think we may see him change with the blossoming relationship with Jade).

Do I care if they win the league? No, not at all.

Please writers, more of this.

Best of TV is here
wzpbctxqz19 April 2023
All Ted Lasso episodes are incredible TV but S3E6 (Sunflowers) takes the throne for the most iconic episode ever. The greyhounds started a solid season with Zava but with him gone, things were going south and Team morale is week. This is the episode where everything comes together across all characters and across all contexts with an unique plot and some adorable screenplay & acting.

Kudos to the entire Ted Lasso team to use the intricacies in human behavior to plot this episode in the most unique manner ever. Take a bow! These are one of the days when I wish Apple TV would enable binge watching like how Netflix does it. Craving for e7 bad.

Wonderful "cozy" episode
reverend_ish19 April 2023
This is a good, heartwarming episode that headed a lot of this in the right direction. This season seems to be focused on team building and the resolution of character flaws through that building: we are better individuals when we are a better team.

Yes, it has less obvious humor than usual but they worked several storylines together to show many characters finding a renewed zeal and energy. And, there is still a great amount of humor in subtle jokes and situations.

I especially loved Roy and Jamie's homage to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Very well done!

Ted sums it up well in the end (by explaining his "new" idea). A positive ending, rare this season, tied it up well.

This season was a disappointment so far and this episodes kind of change it

Ted starting to take action on the team. Roy express his feelings towards his recent break up and get a nice moment with Jamie. Who i hope they don't ruin in the next episodes. And the team have a moment without this annoying Zava guy Also I love seeing Rebecca in this episode.

I just hope things will get better because the first five episode was just everyone stuck and depressed, but not in a teachable way lol i just wanted to slap them because they doing everything wrong.

There's still things to change and it's not something you that seasons starts bad but this last five episode was them just doing nothing. Nothing moves. Nothing good.

And "signs" was the highlight of this bad mess

this episode was a good change, loved it.

Really rewarding episode!
robertvan_lee3219 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Even though This was the longest episode, I felt I didn't want it to end.

As the team find's itself in a big funk and everyone is feeling down, the coach decides the team needs a night off. What better place to celebrate than Amsterdam?

I loved al the different little storylines within this episode. I can see why some extra run time was needed. But that was fully functional extra time the way I see it. Al the storylines got the attention they deserved. Serious topics and more casual scenes were effortlessly alternated.

Jamie and Roy biking their way through a Bromance was definitely a highlight. And it was nice to see a different side and mood of Jamie, running facts about Amsterdam. Higgins' showing of some talent in the red light district was a warm welcome as well.

The way everyone is bonding here seems important for upcoming episodes. They've learned about others and themselves and they'll probably be better for it. Coach Beard's character never disappoints and the way he returns to the bus at the end is just Epic!

Believing his mind is altered, Ted truly invents the already existing Dutch "totaalvoetbal". This will probably complete the reinventing proces for the team later on.

The episode was topped of with roles and cameos by Dutch actors, which made it a really wholesome experience for me.

This was just a really well done episode!!

Love these offbeat episodes!
ginnseven21 April 2023
No doubt Ted Lasso is one of the best shows I have ever watched. However, this episode stands out to me because it is one of those asides from the main plot that is magical. You can probably only have one for these for the entire series, and this one is one of the best. It goes off the usual storyline and mostly ignores the whole soccer theme to show the human side of the characters. The change of pace is refreshing and it only makes this show better. Even the setting in Amsterdam works very well as it takes the characters out of their typical environment. Focusing on other characters is a good change of pace as well. Although there are many great episodes, this one is was a special one.

Everyone gets stretched
Oneiric22 April 2023
A hinge episode showing character growth risks being predictable, and aiming to do it for three pairs, two solos, plus the team as team, all in one episode-while steering away from both shtick and booms-was daring. It demanded an orchestration of chewy empathy that the series had been struggling to find so far this season.

The depth and significance varies. Jamie's arc is least believable-he's close to being a wizened elder now. And we've peeled one of Higgin's layers every season, and the gay storyline, while important and poignant, doesn't break new ground. But a Rebecca who reclaims the present and a Ted who finally integrates his Americanness with his circumstances are refreshed heroes, and I look forward to where they'll lead.

I'm glad they pulled this off.

AMAZING

I love this show, but as of recently the episodes this season haven't been so good. THANK GOODNESS this episode exists. This episode is a top 3 episode of the entire show, and wouldn't even be mad if someone said it's the best episode. Fantastic writing by Coach Beard, was impressed when I heard he wrote this episode. We need more episodes in foreign cities, loved seeing everybody enjoy the city of Amsterdam a different way. Loved Roy and Jamie's scenes of them really connecting. Ted was alone most of the night which was sad at first but he made the best of it. And I won't say anymore, just watch it yourself!!!

Overrated
newyorkrei20 April 2023
I love the show as much as the next person it iseems pretty clear that the show has fallen off in this final season and yes, the episode before was horrific however, at the current time, the ranking is a 9.3 which is not possible I use IMDb for every show I watch, and this current episode is not a classic episode worthy of that ranking. I will not be surprised in a week if it drops below nine but the show is a seven at best. I am not sure if anyone knows the answer, but has the writing team changed this season because it seems like it's a totally different show with a totally different dialogue and it is nothing near the first two seasons of the show.

Warning: Spoilers
I am an American that loves Dutch culture and soccer so I am definitely glad we put a spotlight on it for once. I feel like they missed an opportunity by not having someone pronounce Ajax like the soap brand, but that is a small thing.

This was just boring television though. From childish antics including arguing about sex parties, to the absurdly long Rebecca scenes that went nowhere and did not accomplish anything, this was a chore to get through.

I see a lot of people heavily praising this episode, but I am not one of them. This could have been about 25 minutes and got the same result, but it instead it was a full hour.

Gazellig!
hyunbum-6403620 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Season three, personally, has been a combination of frustration and alienation.

Our merry hero, Ted Lasso, is quite obviously suffering homesickness and depression, and is a far cry from his cheerful self in episode one. Rebecca is anger-filled and obsessed with her ex-husband's effortless charm of the media. Roy Kent is terrified of losing his loved ones, so he chooses to leave first (similar to how he left Chelsea before they left him). Colin needs to be seen. Nothing is right, everything goes wrong. And over and time again, Richmond is berated and beaten.

And then, this episode.

The team is beaten yet again, and they all need a breath of fresh air. Every single character in the show-Ted, the team, Colin, Rebecca and Roy-are broken in different ways, for different reasons. And Amsterdam delivers, hard.

With one beautiful episode, all of the characters are reminded of what it means to have fun. A team of discord and cacophony comes together and enjoys a night of pure fun. Rebecca remembers what it's like to enjoy someone's company. Colin gets to express his "ache" in discretion to a former member of the mass media. Hell, even Leslie and Will share a moment.

But, god damn, Roy and Ted.

Roy and Ted essentially does a complete 180-Roy shares a bonding, loving moment with his son-figure (it does sound weird backwards) and Ted spends all night thinking of how to best utilize the team. It was wonderful how this episode essentially showed us that Ted doesn't need mushrooms, but a reminder of home to keep going, and Roy doesn't need training, but create a new experience with his protege. With one taste of those deep-fried onion rings on an average American platter inside a nostalgic diner, Ted remembers what he said in the very first episode: he doesn't want them to be the best, but the best versions of themselves. With Jamie of all people, someone who was the last to open up to Jamie's reentering of the club (besides Nate, I guess) was able to create some new, wonderful memories that will undoubtedly be cherished by both of them for years to come.

After the last episode, I expected to see a triumphant victory of Richmond after another series of losses. Ted Lasso proved me wrong in the most spectacular fashion. I hope to see the new and refreshed Richmond in the following episodes!

Absolutely Gazellig.
