"Sorry, can you repeat that? I’m playing the new South Park video game. It’s amazing!" The interview has just started, and Chris Hardwick is already apologizing over the phone from his L.A. home. Had almost anyone else mentioned there were gaming in the middle of a conversation, the statement might be considered borderline rude. But come on: This is the man they call "The Nerdist," who's built an empire out of reviewing gadgets, internet binging and hosting conversations with past and present genre icons. It's that passion...

Booger’s belch in Revenge of the Nerds is actually the sound of a camel climaxing. There. Now you, too, are cursed — or blessed, if you’re into that sort of thing — with the same knowledge as the audience from Saturday’s Sf Sketchfest Revenge of the Nerds reunion. Curtis Armstrong, who played Booger (and who can currently be seen as Principal Foster on New Girl), revealed that little piece of foley magic at San Francisco’s Castro Theater, and nobody was more thrilled to hear it than the evening’s moderator, Chris Hardwick. The Nerdist and @Midnight host unleashed his inner 12-year-old on the crowd, displaying an unfiltered giddiness onstage as he interacted with seven stars from the film that played a formative role in his youth. In addition to Armstrong, Timothy Busfield (Arnold Poindexter), Robert Carradine (Lewis Skolnick), Andrew Cassese (Harold Wormser), Julia Montgomery (Betty Childs), Larry B. Scott...

In the last seven years, The Big Bang Theory has been a haven for geeks. While there are those that have been critical of the writers for playing on stereotypes of nerds, they provide interesting and comical discussions on current scientific theories and discoveries, as well as referencing so many fandoms that many of us are a part of, including Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, comic books and their respective movies, Firefly, Dungeons & Dragons and so many more. Even more, the producers have lined up talent from so many of these films, programs and comics (dare I say, the greatest of these is the recurring role of Wil Wheaton), as well as some of the leading scientists of our time. So without further ado, I present here, for your approval, my wish list for future cameos for The Big Bang Theory.

On October 21st, Chris Hardwick will attempt to take over late night cable TV. The Nerdist creator will host @midnight, a new game show on Comedy Central produced by Funny or Die. Each @midnight episode (Comedy Central has ordered four to start) features three comedian contestants to whom Hardwick will feed a stream of funny, weird, sad, and/or ridiculous social media videos, images, and posts. For each item, the contestant who can come up with the funniest quip, caption, or commentary will score points given out by Hardwick. The format is reminiscent of a Write Now!, which aired on Nerdist about a year ago and also featured three comedians competing to write the best jokes on the spot. "It's very British at heart," said Hardwick. "It's really just a structured reason to bring comics together to make fun of all the topical things they saw that day that came up in various social-media outlets.

The Nerdist channel is currently serving as the main production team behind the upcoming YouTube Geek Week, but that isn't stopping Chris Hardwick's YouTube home from keeping up with its regular schedule. It is the home of The Final Moments Of Karl Brant, a dark, trippy sci-fi short film starring Pee-Wee Herman himself, Paul Reubens. The Final Moments Of Karl Brant stars Reubens as a scientist who pioneers a method of resurrecting murder victims via some sort of mind uploading technology. In the film's scenario, a recently murdered man discusses his death with a pair of detectives. Throw in a mysterious ending, and you have yourself a perfectly intriguing sci-fi film in the vein of Source Code. “I'm excited about the idea of copying memories into code," said director M.F. Wilson. "Imagine for a second that, after your body dies, you can go on living in a digital state.

The Walking Dead took Comic-Con by storm yet again with another packed Hall H panel on Friday, but the celebrations for the zombie series didn’t stop there. Celebs and other Comic-Con attendees celebrated the comic book and the AMC TV show it inspired at a party near the San Diego Convention Center last night.

Chris Hardwick, of The Nerdist podcast and TV show as well as most things geek-centric, started up a charity event with Peter Levin called .Course of the Force,. a Star Wars-themed relay race where lightsabers replace batons, and all proceeds go to the greater Los Angeles chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The race kicked off this past Tuesday at George Lucas. famed Skywalker Ranch, and will continue until this coming Tuesday, July 16, where it will end up in San Diego just in time for Comic-Con. You.d think the good cause alone would be enough, but Hardwick and his all-star friends also created a series of promotional videos to promote the event, each one just as cheekily hilarious as the next. The most recent clip (above) features none other than Lando Calrissian himself, Billy Dee Williams, performing karaoke at the Mos Eisley Cantina. As if this wasn.t already...

There's always one day during the Sdcc when you just shake your head, laugh, and say, "This schedule is ridiculous." Saturday, July 20th, is shaping up to be that day this year.

Only a few months ago, Community and Hannibal were on the bubble to return next season. Now NBC is proudly taking them to Comic-Con. The network’s full plans are below, with Grimm and Revolution joining the celebration too.
Also on the list: New fall FBI thriller The Blacklist, which goes into the “sure, let’s just bring anything to Comic-Con at this point” category. Yet notably absent from the list is the network’s most obvious new fall genre show: Dracula, which instead will have a trailer during the Grimm panel. Here’s the official description from NBC:

Heck, Nuclear Man makes him look chumpish, and that's saying something. Created by Tyrannicon (as part of their Skyrim at the Movies series) and featuring Chris Hardwick (of The Nerdist) as the voice of the Man of Steel, this video creates an intensely fun and ridiculous battle between Superman, The Dragon Born and his allies (or underlings as he would put it), General Zod, and Nuclear Man. I loved it. From its spot on rendering of Clark (with his random Tardis like phonebooth in the middle of the mountains) to making Nuclear Man semi entertaining (again, not an easy feat). If you like what you see make sure to check out their other videos, and you can catch the full clip down below.

The Nerdist is living up to its name with a new show based around Star Wars. Chris Hardwick's channel has released the first episode of Course of the Force, a six-part web series leading into the second annual charity run to Comic-Con of the same name. The series stars the main personalities of Nerdist Industries, including Hardwick and Matt Mira, along with a nice little cameo appearance from R2D2. We all know that R2 can fix hyperdrives and deliver interstellar messages, but Course of the Force shows us that he can also do a mean Borat impression. The series is a joint production between Nerdist and Lucasfilm (although the series only uses a knockoff version of the iconic Star Wars theme), so R2 may not be the only character to show up. Nerdist will release the last Course of the Force episode by July 9th, allowing the series...

Zach Braff has ended his Kickstarter campaign for upcoming indie drama Wish I Was Here at $3m (£1.98m).
The Garden State director took to the crowd funding site with an initial goal of $2m to finance his latest project.
After surpassing his goal in just three days, the former Scrubs star continued to receive donations. On Friday (May 24) he ended the campaign, tweeting: "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I won't let you down! Lets do this."
Braff came under fire from critics who suggested that he was using his celebrity status to take advantage of fans.
Despite the criticism, 46,520 backers donated to the fundraising effort, with a final result of $3.1m (£2m).
According to Deadline, Worldview Entertainment has stepped in to provide gap financing for the film.
Kate Hudson has now been cast as the female lead in Wish I Was Here, while Homeland actor Mandy Patinkin has also signed on.

Chris Hardwick is a man in great demand these days. He’s currently the host of several talk shows, including The Nerdist on BBC America and Talking Dead and Talking Bad, both on AMC, and that’s just his television work. Don’t even get me started on YouTube channels and podcasts. The short story here is Hardwick works hard and likely never sleeps. He’s like the Ryan Seacrest of nerd culture. And the world of television hosting isn’t quite done with him yet as Comedy Central is adding a new late-night talk show with Hardwick as its host. Where he finds the time to do all of this I have no idea. Maybe he’s the Twelfth Doctor.
According to Deadline, the currently untitled talk show will be produced by Hardwick and co-produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Funny Or Die. It’ll launch this...

Chris Hardwick is getting a show on Comedy Central that will follow "The Colbert Report," Deadline reported Tuesday.
The stand-up comedian, television personality and founder of the Nerdist website will star in a panel show that will be executive produced by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, the writer/comedians most famous for another Comedy Central show, "Reno 911!" The show will be co-produced by Funny Or Die.
Hardwick has hosted a number of shows throughout his career, going all the way back to MTV's "Singled Out" in 1995. He currently hosts two shows, "The Talking Dead" on AMC and "The Nerdist" on BBC America, the latter of which is an adaptation of his popular podcast.
This talk show is only the latest to debut in an environment where the death of the traditional talk show has long been predicted. In the last year alone, FX has launched two, "Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell...

What if Calvin and Hobbes weren’t a duo comprised of a young boy and his toy tiger, but rather of a young boy and his pet snake? That’s the premise Nickelodeon’s new animated offering, Sanjay and Craig, which is uniting actors from top shows like 30 Rock, Arrested Development and Breaking Bad.
Sanjay and Craig is produced by the same creators of another animated jaunt, The Adventures of Pete & Pete. If you remember than one, than you’ll also remember that it wasn’t only kids who found it amusing. Likewise, Sanjay and Craig hopes to woo young adults and “their young nieces and nephews,” also, reported EW.

"Doctor Who" returned to BBC America on Saturday (March 30) night and scored the second best ratings to date for both the series and the network.
While "Who" drew 1.496 million viewers for its 8 p.m. premiere (just under the 1.555 million who tuned in for the Series 7 premiere back in September), the audience grew to 2.019 million in live plus same day viewing. Additionally, the episode -- which formally introduced Jenna-Louise Coleman as the Doctor's new companion, Clara -- scored 737,000 viewers in BBC America's target demo of adults 25-54. That ranks second of all-time on the network following December's "Who" Christmas special "The Snowmen" (807,000 adults 25-54).
The strong "Who" numbers led in to the premiere of BBC America's two new original series: scripted sci-fi drama "Orphan Black" and comedy talk show "The Nerdist" (fronted by "Talking Dead" host Chris Hardwick).
