James Gunn is debunking a conspiracy theory that alleges he already knew about Henry Cavill’s Superman re-casting while he was promoting “The Suicide Squad.” That timeline does not make sense, Gunn suggested in a post on Threads, as he was not in charge of DC Studios in 2021 when “The Suicide Squad” released. It wasn’t until Dec. 2022 that DC Studios announced Gunn and Peter Safran as its new bosses.
Some DC fans were accusing Gunn of lying about his involvement in Cavill’s Superman exit after actor Nathan Fillion was quoted telling Collider that Gunn told him at “The Suicide Squad” premiere party in 2021 that he would be cast as Guy Gardner (aka The Green Lantern) in a new Superman movie.
“We were actually at the premiere party after ‘Suicide Squad’ and he [James Gunn] was in a huge crowd of people,” Fillion was quoted saying. “We saw each other in the crowd,...

Pierce Brosnan making his debut in the superhero world was not something had expected. Yet as fate would have it, the actor soon became probably the best part of Dwayne Johnson’s failed superhero venture, Black Adam. Starring as Dr. Fate aka Kent Nelson, Brosnan did an impeccable job and fans have been wanting to see more of him despite his grand sacrifice in the film.
Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies
While James Gunn and Peter Safran bringing one of DC’s oldest comic characters back to the screen seems like a distant dream, Brosnan can make his return to the world of superheroes elsewhere. And if his recent appearance is to be taken into consideration, Brosnan would look incredible as MCU’s Magneto.

It may still be a sore subject for Dceu fans, but Henry Cavill is seemingly able to joke about his run of misfortune in teasing follow-ups to his post-credits stingers. The most notorious one came from the end of Black Adam, which had gone unfulfilled when a planned sequel involving the clashing of Black Adam and Superman was scrapped after the origin film flopped and the Dceu was eventually laid to rest in favor of a universe reboot with James Gunn at the helm. Variety reports that Cavill introduced his new Guy Ritchie film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, at a special screening when he poked fun at his bad luck.
During Cavill’s introduction, he mentioned how he had worked with Ritchie a couple of times before. He would star as the lead in his feature adaptation of the TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

While Henry Cavill defined Superman for a decade, he has now moved on from the franchise and has been working on new projects. The actor was last seen in Matthew Vaughn’s spy comedy Argylle and is set to feature in the historical action comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The actor is also working on a Highlander reboot.

Henry Cavill may not be reprising his role as the Man of Steel anytime soon, but fans don’t need to burst into tears for him. The Hollywood Reporter discovered that the actor was paid a whopping $250,000 ‘each’ for his brief appearances in Black Adam and The Flash.
Yes, that’s what it is—a quarter of a million dollars for just a few minutes of screen time. Not bad for a day’s work, right? While some may feel sorry for Cavill for not getting the chance to star in James Gunn’s 2025 Superman release, it’s abundantly clear that the actor isn’t hurting for cash. Also, compared to Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, the Immortals actor received a higher salary for his brief cameos in other DC flicks.

Cavill was a hot commodity at Warner Bros. Pictures before Gunn and Safran were named co-CEOs of DC Studios.

Henry Cavill nodded to his tumultuous history with post-credits scenes during a recent screening of his new Guy Ritchie-directed movie “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” As reported by Insider, Cavill made some introductory remarks before the film and references his other Ritchie films, including his leading turn in the 2015 spy film “The Man from U.N.C.L.E” and his appearance “in a post-credits scene” for the director’s 2017 box office disappointment “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.”
“Turns out, I don’t have much luck with post-credit scenes,” Cavill then wisecracked to much audience laughter. “So, I may give up on those.”

The thriller The Woman in the Yard, which is coming our way from Blumhouse Productions, Universal Pictures, and director Jaume Collet-Serra, was once set to reach theatres on January 10, 2025, but it was recently bumped off the Universal release slate entirely to make room for another Blumhouse / Universal collaboration, the Wolf Man reboot directed by Leigh Whannell. (Wolf Man is now scheduled for a January 17 release.) The release date shake-up isn’t slowing down The Woman in the Yard‘s momentum, though. Deadline reports that the project has just added another cast member: Russell Hornsby of The Hate U Give and Fences.
Hornsby joins the previously announced Danielle Deadwyler of The Devil to Pay and Till in the cast. Okwui Okpokwasili of The Exorcist: Believer and I Am Legend is also in there.

A trailer made by fans for a Batgirl movie with Jenna Ortega has got more than 1.03 million views in less than five days. It’s made by Kh Studio and uses different effects, sounds, AI, and movie stuff. But it’s just for fun and doesn’t mean Ortega is really doing anything with DC. Still, people might keep talking about Ortega joining DC because of how many people watched the trailer.
We’re not sure if there are any plans for Batgirl in Gunn’s Dcu, even though the trailer shows Dceu characters.
When James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as leaders of DC Studios last year, big changes were expected. Shortly after, the studio officially announced the end of the DC Extended Universe (Dceu) and introduced a new cinematic universe called Dcu, serving as a soft reboot. During its existence, the DC Extended Universe (Dceu) gave rise to some historic blunders. My personal favorite was when Dwayne Johnson simply refused to accept that his "Black Adam" movie wasn't very good, but the ill-fated shared universe has a plethora of greatest hits when it comes to cinematic slip-ups, from the box office disappointment that was "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" to the box office bomb of super-heroic proportions that was "The Flash."
Look, it's extremely difficult to build a shared cinematic universe. Aside from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the only action franchise that's really achieved anything of note in the last few years is the "John Wick" saga, and even that can't hope to match the historic highs of the MCU. So you can't really fault DC and Warner Bros. for failing to establish an enduring cinematic multiverse — though that hasn't stopped David Ayer from trying.

James Gunn’s Dcu reboot is all set to take flight with his upcoming Superman, and fans couldn’t be more excited about it. According to the insights the co-ceo of DC Studios has shared until now into the project, the film has been inspired by a lot of the comics and projects from the Dcau. That being said, one behind-the-lens mastermind of Batman Beyond has something to say to Gunn.
2025’s Superman will kick off James Gunn’s DC Universe.
This master brain is none other than one of the directors of the superhit animated series from 1999, Butch Lukic. And as it turns out, he has some seriously good pieces of advice for the Guardians of the Galaxy director on how to helm his upcoming DC Universe reboot — some pretty neat advice that even fans would agree with.

British actor Henry Cavill is well-known in the entertainment industry. He has won the hearts of millions of fans for his excellent performances in Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Black Adam, etc. Fans were really left in awe when the British actor revealed that he is fond of the Warhammer game.

“Game of Thrones” actor Joseph Gatt has sued Los Angeles County, its district attorney and more for falsely claiming he was a pedophile after being arrested and charged with alleged sexual communication with a minor in 2022. The charge was later dropped, and he’s now calling the arrest “utterly baseless” in his lawsuit for $40 million.
Gatt filed the lawsuit Thursday and is suing L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón, Los Angeles County, L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson, LAPD Detective Denos Amarantos and the City of Los Angeles.
The lawsuit is claiming a “shocking and intentional destruction of Joseph Gatt’s acting career and personal reputation by Los Angeles County law enforcement personnel that resulted from a thoroughly botched criminal investigation, entirely lacking any probable cause, led by an obviously conflicted Deputy District Attorney who sought to destroy Gatt based on nothing more than bias and personal animosity.

Anyone who fell into a boredom-induced coma watching “Black Adam” and woke up on March 15, 2024 would have been in for a shock when they turned on “WWE Friday Night Smackdown.” Dwayne Johnson, dressed in one of the ridiculous Versace shirts that have become his wrestling trademark, opened the show with a raunchy musical number. Accompanied by a two-piece blues band, he launched into a melodic diatribe about everything from ungrateful fans who don’t appreciate him enough to his belief that his latest wrestling rival Cody Rhodes was the result of an unplanned pregnancy — the crowd roared as he hit the line “drugs and cheap condoms are a bad combination!” with a bluesy wail.

Dwayne Johnson has enjoyed a successful movie career since becoming famous in the WWE as The Rock. The star has played leading roles in projects like Baywatch, Moana, Jumanji: The Next Level, Jungle Cruise, and the Fast & Furious franchise.
He made his debut in DC’s superhero universe as the anti-hero Black Adam in 2022. The action film also marked the last time fans saw Henry Cavill’s Superman, thanks to his tiny cameo. 2022’s Black Adam also had fans discussing who would win in the fight between Superman and Teth-Adam. However, Dwayne Johnson’s take on the topic surprised many. It depicted that the Hollywood actor was surprisingly well-versed in DC’s comic books.

Universal Pictures is shifting its wide release of Blumhouse’s “Wolf Man” from Oct. 25, 2024 to Jan. 17, 2025.
“Wolf Man” is billed as a blood-chilling reimagining of the classic Universal monster pic. The film is directed by Leigh Whannell, who wrote the script with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo (“Dumb Money”). Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott stars as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.
The film will reunite Abbott with co-star Julia Garner, with whom she starred in 2011’s “Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene,” her first professional acting role.
Whannell’s previous films with Blumhouse include “Invisible Man,” “Upgrade” and “Insidious: Chapter 3.” “Wolf Man” is produced by Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum and is executive produced by Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell. Not a trick, definitely not a treat: Universal Pictures has pulled Blumhouse’s “Wolf Man” from its primo Halloween 2024 release, and has re-dated the wide release for January 17, 2025.
With “Wolf Man” now in mid-January 2025, Universal took Blumhouse’s “The Woman in the Yard” — originally slated for January 10, 2025 — off its schedule. That one, starring Danielle Deadwyler, “is now unset and will be re-dated for a later date,” Universal said on Friday. In other words, it definitely won’t be replacing “Wolf Man” this coming Halloween season.
Jason Blum can’t buy a date lately around his favorite holiday. This past Halloween, it was Taylor Swift who ruined his (and others’) best-laid plans. When Swift announced her concert film, “The Eras Tour,” would release in theaters on October 13, 2023, Blum (wisely) chose to move “The Exorcist: Believer” off of its very suitable original date of Friday the 13th. In October. Eighteen days ahead of Halloween.

Before entering the DC franchise as Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson had many successful action films under his belt. Not long ago, former James Bond actor George Lazenby, who has had the opportunity to star in a sole outing as the agent in the now-appreciated On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, threw his support behind the all-but-confirmed Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the role. Lazenby was reportedly saying to TMZ that Taylor-Johnson would be able to “handle the stunts and all the ladies who love a man in a tux.” However, he also thinks the reason for the delay in any kind of announcement is because “when he auditioned for the part back in the 1960s, he went through a bunch of different tests and auditions before he won the role.” Though, he still thinks Taylor-Johnson would make a great Bond “as long as they do the character justice.” His advice for the young lad would be “to be true to himself and reinvent the role to fit him.”

Earlier this month, word came out that James Gunn and Peter Safran, the co-heads of Warner Bros.' DC Studios, have hired screenwriter Ana Nogueira to pen the script for a live-action Teen Titans film that will be set within their planned interconnected DC Universe of film, television, and video games. This experiment kicks off with an animated series called "Creature Commandos" sometime in 2024, but begins in earnest with James Gunn's newly-retitled "Superman" live-action feature film in the summer of 2025.
This "Teen Titans" film will likely follow the exploits of young heroes like Robin, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, and Starfire, and whether or not it falls into Gunn and Safran's planned first chapter of the Dcu -- a collection of films and shows that fall under an umbrella they've titled "Gods and Monsters" -- remains to be seen. The actor will be seen as the beloved ‘bio-exorcist’ Beetlegeuse in the upcoming sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the teaser of which debuted earlier this week. Keaton also starred as Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman in last year’s Dceu film The Flash.
While fans were ecstatic to see Keaton don the cowl again, his casting in the original 1989 Batman did not receive the same fanfare. When he was cast as Wayne in the adaptation, many fans reportedly were outraged at the casting as he was known as a comedic actor. Fans reportedly wrote thousands of letters to Warner Bros. to dissuade them from casting Keaton.

Baldness is an inevitable aspect of aging for many men, or at least a result of their genetic makeup. However, going bald does not imply losing one’s attractive appearance. For example, Dwayne Johnson, 51, is a perfect example of how going ‘bald’ is just another style. Did we forget to mention his strong, muscle-bound physics, which is a sight to behold for anyone?
Well, his avid admirers are likely to picture him as the bald, ripped guy whom we all adore. But the Baywatch star did not always have such massive, superhuman-like muscles. Indeed, he was just one of us, regular folks, with no muscular pecs or curved arms, or, we can say, just “skinny” Rock.

A recently unearthed throwback picture of a young Johnson with a head full of hair caused everyone to do a double-take.

Netflix regularly takes down movies and TV shows because their agreements with content owners expire. Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC movies started appearing on Netflix in phases from December 2023. This move is part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s plan to license more content to other platforms like Netflix.
In 2023, HBO titles became available on Netflix for the first time, with more expected throughout the year. However, these agreements were short-term, lasting only 3-5 months. By the end of March, most DC superhero movies on Netflix will be taken down. Here’s the list of movies leaving the platform:
‘Man of Steel’ (2013) ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ (2016) ‘Suicide Squad’ (2016) ‘Wonder Woman’ (2017) ‘Justice League’ (2017) ‘Shazam!’ (2018) ‘Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)’ (2020) ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ (2020) ‘The Suicide Squad’ (2021) ‘Black Adam’ (2022) ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ (2023) ‘Spy Kids: All the Time in the World’ (2011)
