Marvel has continued to have its fun on Disney+ with Moon Knight currently plugging away through its six episode season. With its list of new releases for May 2022, however, Disney+ is making clear that it’s time for some more Star Wars.
The biggest title this month is undoubtedly Obi-Wan Kenobi with two episodes premiering on May 27. Ewan McGregor reprises his role from the Star Wars prequel films to portray the beloved last Jedi (for now) in the six-episode series. Details about the plot are already starting to trickle out so steer clear as best you can if you want an unspoiled experience. But if you want to know what other Star Wars characters might be cameoing, we have you covered over here.
That and the Moon Knight finale on May 4 is all she wrote for Disney’s big franchises this month. There are still some other cool options to consider.

The Marvel machine continues apace on Disney+ this month.
Disney+’s list of new releases of April 2021 is highlighted by the highlight of March’s list as well: The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Three episode of this highly anticipated series will premiere in April, including the series(?) finale on April 23.
But of course, it’s not all Marvel all the time on Disney+…sometimes its Star Wars time as well! There aren’t any new original Star Wars series coming to the streaming world until The Bad Batch premieres on May 4. It’s spiritual successor arrives in April, however. Star Wars: Clone Wars Volumes 1 and 2 both premiere on April 2. These are the animated classics from Genndy Tartakovsky that jumpstarted a new era of Star Wars storytelling. Now they can be seen in their entirety once agin.

Contrary to Netflix, which usually updates its roster every single day, Disney+ only tinkers with its library on a weekly basis.
On July 10th, for instance, the recently-launched streaming service saw the arrival of shows such as Gigantosaurus and Secrets of the Zoo, as well as films like the divisive Solo: A Star Wars Story and the acclaimed X-Men: Days of Future Past. This week, on July 17th, the streamer will be adding yet another set of movies and series to its collection, and here’s a quick overview of them:
It’s a Dog’s Life with Bill Farmer – “Snake Search Dogs & Hawaiian Conservation Dogs” One Day at Disney – “Mike Davis: Imagineering Project Manager” Disney Family Sundays – “Moana: Tomato Photo Holder” Wild Chile (S1) The Mousketeers at Walt Disney World Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! Despite only launching in November, Disney Plus has already brought in nearly 55 million subscribers, who’ve been enjoying all of their content hailing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Star Wars franchise, Pixar, almost their entire back catalogue of animated films and much, much more.
However, it’s fair to say that when it comes to original material, Disney Plus hasn’t been bringing us very much. Sure, The Mandalorian was a major hit, but apart from that, none of their in-house projects have really stirred up any buzz. Unless, of course, you want to count Artemis Fowl, which has been making waves for all the wrong reasons.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things will be improving on that front anytime soon, either. The Mouse House has just announced what’s headed our way in July and as you can see below, the list is lacking when it comes to buzzy original titles.

Disney+ hit 50 million subscribers globally in early April, shortly after it finally launched in the UK and other regions, and while the platform has still got a way to go until it gets close to Netflix’s 167 million-strong base, it’s not a bad result so far for a streaming service that only originally got off the starting blocks in November, 2019.

The first secret of the zoo is that, thanks to Secrets of the Zoo, there aren’t many secrets at the zoo. Through two and a half seasons of television, Nat Geo Wild’s series has taken viewers behind the scenes of one of the largest and most popular zoos in the country: the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Columbus, Ohio.

Nat Geo Wild's Secrets of the Zoo returns to the Columbus Zoo to delve into the lives of zoologists and the animals they care for.
Two seasons into its run, Nat Geo Wild's Secrets of the Zoo apparently still holds some more secrets...of the zoo.
Secrets of the Zoo takes viewers behind the scenes of the Columbus Zoo in Ohio to get a better sense of what it means to create a healthy environment for the animals under the zookeepers' care. Previous seasons have documented the birth of Zuri the giraffe's baby, a polar bear party, and some kangaroo romances.
Now for Secrets of the Zoo season 3, National Geographic's Wild child has found even more stories from inside one of the country's biggest zoos. You can see a bit of what's in store for a new batch of critters in the exclusive first look at the third season.
