Green Lantern (2011)
7/10
Another Nicely written Comic Hero!
20 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
There were quite a few movies that have sprang form the cloth woven by the Caped Crusader back in '89, and many of those smelled worst than my feet on a summer evening( namely "Batman & Robin" of that franchise). But among the farts that came, there were several gems that shown bright than Ole' GL's ring. And speaking of GL, Green Lantern was definitely one of them.

Now I know, said by many people even those I know, that this isn't the original Hal Jordan and that Reynold's performance wouldn't be up to the original's par, and maybe they're right. But considering that the story was re-written and expanded less than ten years ago, one can't go to the two-dimensional version and expect that story. For one, it wouldn't work and two, no one would watch it. Now, pushing that all aside, this was a good film, going to the same level as the first(good)Fantastic Four and maybe even better. A great cast, compelling and dazzling visuals, and a well knit story. Green Lantern made a memorable mark on the comic world and Reynolds made the character his own, with just enough flare that you felt for the character, but not too over-the-top that he was campy. And of course Mark Strong's Sinestro stole the show.

I really enjoyed the film, but there were parts that made me cringe, mainly the villain development. It was a bit lacking and not really what I would consider a menace. Tomar-Re and Kilowag didn't feel all too real for me, even in 3D. The voice-acting from Rush and what I believe is Richardson was great and the only thing that gave the doll-like characters life. But, back to the villain. I had more feeling whether Sinestro would go all Anakin-Vader style evil than whether the actual "bad" guy was bad. Not a great choice in my book.

All in all, GL was enjoyable and worth a see, even in 3D. So, check it out.

Iron Man (1994–1996)

Shellhead at his best......mostly
28 June 2008
In an age where animated features that had more than just the simplistic bluntness of such shows like Animaniacs or Tiny Toons, a show that had more to say or rather show was extremely rare. The WB or rather Fox delved into what was only seen in Anime, a cartoon that wasn't a cartoon. Batman: The Animated Series reshaped what was considered the only way comic 'toons was to be done. The X-Men re-introduced the world to comic 'toons after the "Superfriends" era, but it was Iron Man, or rather its second season; we try to forget the first one, that really expanded the world of comic 'toons. In fact, it took the "cartoon" away from such features.

To be honest, when Iron Man started, it was crappy. The artwork was a bit too detailed and the voice acting hurt the ears spoiled by such talents from WB animation. The plots for the show were more childish then necessary. Simply, I hated it and didn't miss it when it disappeared, along with its kindred of similarly pathetic story-telling, Fantastic Four.

But, in 1995, the series, along with the four in blue, returned with not only more stylish animation that didn't turn the stomach, voice action that had a sense of professionalism, and even the theme took on a style of its own that was really one of the best out there at the time. I was saddened, this time, when the series didn't return with a third season, but was hoping to see it back in some form or another.

Thankfully, and in awesome style, shell-head did return in one of the best films,in regards to comic book movies, since Batman Begins. Iron Man became a feature film in May 2008 and it was awesome. I still haven't seen this animated series come out on DVD as yet, but I have a feeling that it will eventually( the lack-luster animated antics of Fan Four came out on DVD the same year as it's first, good movie, so who knows).

Even though it wasn't the best series to Marvel's credit, it was still, for me, the best introduction to Iron Man in animation. I can't wait to see it....again.

Moonlight (2007–2008)

Decent, stylish, but VERY Familiar
1 October 2007
I just caught the new supernatural series premiere of CBS's new show, MOONLIGHT. To be honest, I liked the first episode, but after seeing countless shows of this natural, it seems to repetitive.

Now don't get me wrong, MOONLIGHT isn't a bad show. It's compelling, stylish and has characters that are very interesting. I have to say I have finally found a show to replace the void left by STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE and STARGATE: SG1 and a show that isn't another CSI copycat. Even though the show is somewhat cool, it seems way to familiar to some of it's predecessors--Remember a show called FOREVER KNIGHT, or a more recent one ANGEL? In fact the first episode is a blending of some of the previously mentioned series' episodes. And the vamp-does-good thing is a bit old.

Well, the show may some its flaws, but it is a welcome addition to a night that is getting more boring and repetitive by the hour.

Highlander has never looked better
10 June 2007
I have just purchased HIGHLANDER: THE SEARCH FOR Vengeance from my local wally-world and I was blown away from the very beginning.

I'm a bit familiar with the body of work that the crew at madhouse have done (NINJA SCROLL AND X come to mind) and I have to say that this one is the best yet from him. I'm also glad that the guys who brought HIGHLANDER to life in the first place had a hand with it.

I won't ruin the story for those that are reading this review, but if you are familiar with anime and the sweeping style that comes with it, as well as the movies that I've mentioned, then you will not be disappointed.

Watch it, rent it, buy it! Enjoy it.

A bit cheesy, but fun
7 January 2007
I have seen quite a few superhero films, some good, some REALLY awful. I have also seen the original BLACK MASK, though this one doesn't come anywhere near the style of the original, BLACK MASK 2, is still a decent movie.

I'll agree with many that this film was a bit too cheesy and campy, even for a superhero film, but considering that some of the big-budget films that have come both before and after weren't any better, I'd give this film at least a six for effort and a seven for the main star, Andy On. He's no Jet Li,(who is?), but he did a great job in this film and I think I would like to see him in many more like this one, if not a better written one.

All in all, BLACK MASK 2, isn't a bad film and I think that it is worth at least a rent or two.

A great display of pre-Playgirl history
15 October 2006
I was curious mostly about this movie. Not being one to pass up on seeing a movie based on information or history I took a chance and watched it on the HERE! network a couple of years ago. It was better than I expected.

Ignoring the continuous display of frontal male nudity (which didn't offend me in the least), This film was very informative and entertaining. The interviews opened my eyes to a part of history that I have only read about. It is a pity that this film didn't get more exposure, but I believe that the "exposure" on screen would and probably did prevent any real showcasing in worldwide theaters.

I think that anyone who likes to know what occurred in the past in regards to pre-stonewall life should watch this film. And if anyone who just wants to see guys in the nude without the sex involved, will like it too. In any case, it's really interesting.

Definitely not a Matirx 3, but not the X'men's best
9 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, X3 wasn't a bad movie. In references to being titled an action movie, it hits the mark and really keeps you at your seat. The bonus scene at the end(and no, I won't say what it is) does get you to think that there may be an X4...who knows really. However, as a person who has grown beyond the need for useless violence in movies, it doesn't hit the mark.

I just rented this movie to see if I could make a spot for it in my heart to perhaps buy it in the future(and to see the bonus scene, since I left without catching it). I went to the theaters to see this film with all of the expected anticipations that any fan of a cool franchise would have. I had hoped that the rumors about the director not knowing what he was doing, about the rumors that Singer(who I really think should have done this film--watch it and you will understand why) had taken his best writers with him to do the awesome comic book film, SUPERMAN RETURNS, and that this film was done mostly to make Ms. Berry happy, wouldn't be true. For the most part, some of them were true. The story did nothing more than shaft my hopes in the aft sections; it was baseless. Many characters were introduced without really putting a reason why they were there in the first place. The dark Phoenix was in this film and let me tell you, they really should have thought this one through. Instead of a tried and true character that we were all expecting to see, they delivered an angry child that really didn't come off as being that threatening. Also, if done correctly, this should have been the main focus of the film instead of the real plot that sounded more like a 1940's film plot than a believable story. Furthermore, killing off the two main characters in less than an hour in a way that really seemed more of an insult to their reason for being there, just made things worse.

True, this is a very exciting film. If you forget the others as many did with the first BATMAN film franchise in reference to the last of that franchise, it really is. And don't worry, this one is not anything like THAT monstrosity of a comic book film. It really is good, but it's not an X-men film. Like another franchise that forgot about its roots(ironically, Patrick Stewart was a part of that as well), this one unintentionally sets itself apart from the other two in a way that shouldn't happen ( it is a TRILOGY).

I'm still debating on whether to buy this movie at twenty dollars or wait until it drops in price and maybe not feel as guilty in getting something I don't completely love. I'm an advent collector of anything, especially action films, so we will see.

One of Decoteau's best
5 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I have to admit that I was impressed by this film. Though it did have the usual thin acting(something you usually get with fresh-faces) and shitty special effects, but its story, for a Decoteau film, had some rather deep layers.

Out of all of the actors in this film, the main star, Matt Twining, was very good. Besides for being visually stunning(a very attractive guy), his acting was the only one in this film that didn't feel forced or even wooden. He made you want to feel for his character, Cory. The ending was a very big surprise, for the most part. I did notice some similarities to THE SIXTH SENSE in the way it ended and had some of the subtle clues to the real reason for the school and the disappearances of the students throughout the film.

The staple mark of Decoteau where there is a thin hint to homo-eroticism was not as evident in this film. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong in appreciating the male physique( and there were some very attractive physiques in here too), but it can be sort of redundant and obvious. This time, the male-body showcase fitted into the film.

I won't reveal anymore of the film, you'll just have to see it. Be certain to have an open mind and a very tolerate stomach for B movies. Though I have to say, this one could move to an A-movie very quickly.

Babylon 5: Babylon 5: The Gathering (1993)
Season 1, Episode 0
5/10
Thank god the series was not like this
5 August 2006
I just watched BABYLON 5:THE GATHERING DVD again, mostly because I haven't watched it in a while.....I can see why. I haven't seen such cold and wooden acting from a movie in quite a while. Some of the actors did migrate to the series that were good in their assigned roles(Garabaldi, Delenn, G'Kar, Londo). Unfortunatedly, The really bad actor, Michael O'hare came along as well.

As compared to his "supposed" TV counterpart, Cmdr. Sisko from DS9, this guy is extremely weak and the actor seemed to force out the words and didn't really have a strong presence on the movie or the series that followed. I was relieved that he was replaced by the FAR better actor, Bruce Boxleitner.

Tamilyn Tomita is a marvelous and very attractive woman and actress. I, however didn't think she fit in this role. As compared to her TV counterpart, Major Kira from DEEP SPACE NINE, she was very boring and seemed to try TOO much to be forceful when she really wasn't. The support actor, especially in the C and C area, were even worse than the main characters( except the late Mr. Katsulas. he was great, as usual).

To make this short, and not to reveal too much here. BABYLON FIVE: THE GATHERING was not a great movie, but it did open the door to a great series, so you can't completely dismiss it, even if you really should.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (1995–1996)

The Best and still the coolest....
28 June 2006
I have just recently purchased collection one of this awesome series and even after just watching three episodes, I still am mesmerized by sleek styling of the animation and the slow, yet thoughtful actions of the story-telling. I am still a fan.....with some minor pains.

Though this installment into the Gundam saga is very cool and has what the previous series had-a stylish satiric way of telling about the wrongs of war and not letting go of the need to have control or power over everything(sound familiar?), I have to say that this one gets a bit too mellow-dramatic on continuing to explain the lives of the main characters and their incessant need to belly-ache about every thing that happens and what they need to do to stop the OZ group from succeeding in their plans(especially the character called Wufei...I mean he whines more than an American character on a soap opera. Get a counselor, will ya?)

Besides for the over-exaggerated drama(I think that mostly comes from the dubbing of the English voice actors), this series is still very exciting and will still captivate me once again. I mean it can always be worse. It could be like the recent installment, SEED......eeeewwww, talk about mellow-dramatic....I'll chat about that one later.

Constantine (2005)
10/10
Another great comic-based movies
10 April 2006
I've seen quite a few comic-based movies, some were awful (BATMAN AND ROBIN, SUPERMAN IV, HULK), some were just cool ( FANTASTIC FOUR, BLADE, X-MEN, BATMAN BEGINS), CONSTANTINE falls into that category of cool.

I've read in other places and even on here that "even the main stars couldn't save this movie from a bad script". The story, though somewhat familiar, wasn't bad and had some very funny interactions, between Constantine, his sidekick, and some of the demons that he had to face. The special effects were awesome; not too big, not too small. Reeves' acting was on the mark and Weisz was awesome, even hot and sexy in some places. Even Reeves' sidekick had some cool moments.

All in all, this is a very good movie and, not to tell too much, frighteningly exciting. I recommend this one.

A true testament to it parent......
18 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I just recently bought the DVD to BABYLON FIVE: LEGEND OF THE RANGERS and just as when it first premiered way back in early 2002, I am still impressed by the continuity and tamed, yet thrilling action.

I have always been a fan of any series that tells a story of hope, without being obvious or dull about it. STAR TREK and the original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA were like that and have a particular place in my heart. Only one other series continued that format of "thoughtful science fiction", that series was BABYLON FIVE. Almost all of it's five seasons showed that the future isn't perfect, but it never hurts to keep trying to make it so. The movies were somewhat close, but some of them didn't have the same feel as the series that spawned them. LotR(LEGEND OF THE RANGERS) was the only one of those movies that kept that vision of a working future alive and in an exciting and sometimes funny way( there were some really funny scenes, especially with Ambassador G'kar(RIP Andreas).

Though I do like this movie(one of the reasons why I bought the DVD), I do have some grievances about it..mostly about the DVD itself. There are no features what-so-ever nor are there any pamphlets for information about the disc or the chapters on it. Though there are some funny scenes, some of those scenes seemed a bit forced, but one can overlook them with the nice work from the rest of the movie.

All in all, this IS a good movie and I hope that there may be a series developing from it. One can only hope.

SeaQuest 2032 (1993–1996)
Great series, full of promise. Not as bad as people say
10 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I am by ,unashamed admission, a big sci-fi fan. Any show that has a cool premise, stylishly sweet S/F/X, and of course a real meaning behind the futuristic gibberish. Many series have tried to fit this category, but only a few have earned the right(to me anyway) to be called as Harve Bennett(Star Trek Movies) coined "thoughtful science fiction". The series that come to mind for me are the Star Trek saga, Babylon Five, and SeaQuest DSV. The first two, of course, are based in space with using that backdrop as reference for telling today's problems, SeaQuest, however, did the same thing, but only put it just a few years ahead of us.

Many have said that SeaQuest was a bad series and there have been rumors that even the series star, Roy Scheider, never liked the series. Though I cannot confirm or deny Mr. Scheider's comments, the series in a whole had a lot of promise.

In it's first season, SeaQuest DSV was very creative and it gave those of us who never even cracked open a science book, let alone watch the discovery channel or TLC, the chance to learn something of the sea and the wonders inside it in a very intriguing format. I also like the design of the ship(or Sub for those that are picky); it was very cool and forward-thinking looking. Though some of the similarities to ST:TNG(namely having a super-genius kid on the show) sort of got on my nerves, but it was not difficult to overlook. This first season ended very excitingly too(won't say more than that). SeaQest, as a series had a decent start. If only they kept it in the same pace and the stories stayed in the science-possible format. The second season, though interesting in it's own right, season two was not consistent with the first season, save for the music and having basically the same cast(many of those in the first season did not go onto the second or the ill-conceived third season).

The second season was passable and if they kept with that premise, it would probably have continued to a fourth season, but instead the third season went even further away from the original premise, giving a badly done post-apocalyptic future that really shouldn't have been done and this was also another cast change that just mad the series work even less( for heaven's sake, they changed the captain to someone that made season one and two Jean-Luc Picard from TNG seem like a playboy) NBC did the right thing in pulling the plug into this third season because it just got worse and dumber by each episode. A series recently did the same thing that the producers of Seaquest did and it's "new course" only bought it one season more than Seaquest.

Simply putting it, SeaQuest was a good show gone disappointingly bad. If it was possible(with the untimely and tragic death of Jonathan Brandis(RIP) it may never happen), a revival of the series with it's original premise intact would be nice to see, but as mentioned before, this may never. For now onto eternity, those of us who did enjoy the series for it's uniqueness can at least enjoy the series on DVD(if only the set had SOME features on it, but that's another story).

Long live SeaQuest, We still miss ya Jonathan, rest well.

A lackluster, yet promising first date
25 February 2006
I, like many fans of the AVENGERS, IRON MAN and many others were anxiously awaiting the release of this film to DVD. THE ULTIMATE AVENGERS movie was suppose to be the first of many anime-films by Marvel, well, though reasonably exciting, this first of many was sort of....blah.

I mean, don't get me wrong. The ULTIMATE AVENGERS movie was a reasonable attempt for Marvel. It had action(sort of), drama, some nicely drawn characters and a story that sort of kept you wondering. I was expecting a story that was never done before, even in the previous incarnations of Marvel characters, but this one was done by the JUSTICE LEAGUE in their first year on TV, just redressed some to fit with Marvel. Some of the character changes were a bit ridiculous; take the HULK for example. The design of Bruce Banner was ridiculous and somewhat sorry; He looks like a bum. And his alter-ego looked like he lost a battle with weight watchers. The CGI version in the movie,HULK,( really don't wanna go there), had more muscle.

Well, Since this just the first of many films for Marvel's animated company, one should at last have some hope in the next ones. This one may have had it's faults (some I can't reveal without spoiling it for ya, rent it first), but it was at least worth the 14 bucks I spent for it. Here's hoping for better things.

Definitely not the best....
4 January 2006
I have seen quite a bit of anime in the past and in the present, in fact, I am watching one right now; one of the best, "Silent Mobius". However, this one isn't it.

I saw this series' first DVD when I was at the beach one year and, because of it's cheap price, I decided to buy it and try it. The first episodes weren't too bad, though the English dubbing could have been better psych-inked and the animation wasn't the best I have but, true to my form I gave it a matter of doubt and bought volumes two and three because they were not expensive and I like to complete a series when I start one. Instead of getting better, it got worse. Very bad acting choices and the writing on the English dub side was worse on the second and definitely the third disc than on the first. There is supposed to be a second season of this series, but I don't think will pursue this further and just cut my losses........

Though, I did get a very cool pin with the first disc, so it wasn't a total loss.

Batman Beyond: The Movie (1999 TV Movie)
8/10
Batman: Phase II
24 December 2005
I have always been a fan of Batman, from the first Batman movie(1989) to the recent film (Batman Begins)< so it was natural that I would follow the adventures of this new batman....I have mixed reviews.

First and foremost, this a very cool series and it deserved more respect that it got. Though I have to admit that I was just as concerned as many "Bats" fans when I heard the first cut of the title, "Batman Tomorrow"....."Batman Tomorrow"? Even the name sounds stupid and badly planned. Well, with a much needed name change and some well-placed faith(on my part at least), the show came on and I was impressed.

Though, I did like the series and the very cool animated movie that followed, I did think that the series reminded me too much of the "Spider-man" TV series that came on FOX just a few years before(now that show was cheesy). I mean the protagonist got away a bit too much and the series seemed a bit cookie-cutter like that( no real drama). In the end of it's run, the series got a lot better at catching you by the sack and keeping your interest.

The movie, like the series' final seasons, did not disappoint and the uncut version made it even better(if you buy the movie, buy that version).

So, if you haven't seen "Batman Beyond" because you did have the KidsWB network then or because you're just being stubborn, then take a look....I guarantee you will like it....at least a little.

Mantasy Island (1998 Video)

Very sexy film
28 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This is a very sexy and hot film with an adorable cast. It is set on an island of recreation where everyone, including the attendant, gets into the action.

The scenery is very beautiful and the music is okay. Though the music and the scenery is not what one looks for in movies like this; it's the guys and these guys are very hot. The guy from Argentina is very attractive and has a superb body. His technique was very...seductive. One of the guys by the name of J.J. Bond is also very sexy and has an attractive physique. His technique is somewhat common and becomes repetitive, but still enjoyable. The ending of the film is also enjoyable, the entire cast return and give a very memorable performance.

If you are into these kind of films or are just curious like me then don't miss out. it is worth the purchase.

Andel's Story (1997 Video)
10/10
Very lovely film, almost a work of art
28 November 2005
I have seen adult films of almost all genre's and this one is the most sensual and alluring that I have ever seen.

I am not accustom to seeing a film that has an all male cast, but curiosity took over and I am glad I did. Andel is a very attractive guy and his cast-mates are no slouches either. The music is very sweet and sets the mood and scenes very well. The narration is somewhat unnecessary, but it becomes an after thought when the scenes begin. All worlds has a reputation for hiring the cream of the male crop for their films and this one does not disappoint. There is another film called ANDEL IN America I think I will buy that one next. This one is supposed to have an almost all American cast along with Andel. I almost can't wait.

If you have an interest in adult films that show the male form in all of its glory then this is the film you should get. You will not be disappointed.

A welcome successor to the series
27 November 2005
I have seen the series, MARTIAN SUCCESSOR NADESICO, and loved it. Not many scifi series have a marvelous mix of action, humor, and, of course, gorgeous babes and do it well. NADESICO: THE SERIES has it and the movie continues it.

I was a bit misled by the title: THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS, because I was expecting a dude resembling Dracula, but I still got a kick out of the movie. The humor that, in my book, made this show more enjoyable than DRAGONBALL or any of it's incarnations and it being a scifi show to boot quenched my appetite for anime scifi.

Well, I am not going to ruin it for you, so if you wanna know what the movie is about, you will have to watch the series first. After that, watch the movie. Its a riot!

Generation X (1996 TV Movie)

The first X-Men movie......sort of
21 October 2005
Though it is in no way as good as the latest X-Men movie, X2: X-MEN UNITED, GENRATION X is still good for being the first to star characters from Marvel's most influential comic line.

To be made in 1996 and only for television, This movie does in no way fall into the same boat as the other attempt to bring Marvel to the small screen,FANTASTIC FOUR(1994?). I have to admit the special effects were cheesy and the acting could have been better, the movie was still good and the action was still compelling. I had the opportunity to read the comic not long after the movie premiered on FOXtv and it goes very well with the story and the characters are cool.

If you have the opportunity to see this film, it will be worth your while. Enjoy.

Dante's Cove (2004–2007)
10/10
Very intriguing, if not erotic
16 October 2005
I have seen a lot of mini-series and have seen a few movies of this nature(most of it anyway), but never have I been blown away by a mini-series like this one. It has all of the elements of a good thriller with an interesting twist that is sure to catch a few heads....and eyes.I won't spoil it too much, but if you have the HERE! network, then make sure you check this out.

It is wrapped around a relationship between a couple and some supernatural events that take place. The cast is beautiful in all aspects of the spectrum and connect very well. It also stars veteran Tracy Scoggins(BABYLON FIVE, LOIS&CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN) in a role that is made for her and she does it very well(she looks good in it too).

So check out DANTE'S COVE and keep an open mind. It's very cool.

P.S. Its very sexy too...I saw it twice already.

Wonder Woman (1975–1979)
The One and Only
10 October 2005
I have, at the time of this comment, two out of three seasons of WONDER WOMAN. I wasn't bale to see the show on its original run(since I was born at the same time it came on the air), but I had the opportunity to see it in both syndication and on the cable channel F/X(when it was at least worth watching then), so I had the opportunity to be drawn to one of the most beautiful and marvelously talented women to ever grace the small screen.

Many people say that it was campy(which was the point in the first season) and many people thought it should have stayed in the WWII setting;I ,however, think it was perfect. I have heard that there is going to be a movie produced in about two years of WONDER WOMAN. Though it is a good idea, I think it is going to be very difficult to succeed such an icon of comic art.....not to mention a very gorgeous woman, even now.

I hope that if they do make this movie and find a suitable successor to Mrs. Carter, that they have at least the good since to have Lynda as the queen of Themscyria(Paradise Island) and Diana's mother. That would be the best passing of the torch to have the original Wonder Woman and the new one in the same movie.

Well, that's all I have to say about this, I hope that those who read this have the opportunity to see this show. They'll love it....and be in good company.

Good ship, great crew........bad captain(not Picard)
8 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Star Trek: Nemesis was a great movie in some ways: good action, great S/F/X, marvelous acting(as always). But this movie, supposedly the last featuring the Next Generation cast, really was a let-downer in that....and it wasn't the fault of the cast of actors...it was the director and producers.

First and foremost, getting a director that doesn't even like Star Trek was not a good idea. This Stuard Biard may be a good director in other genres, but when it comes to Star Trek, you really have to have the knack for it. I mean, the better director, if not being Jonny Frakes on Pat Stewart, should have been Nick Meyer(of Star Trek's II and VI fame....plus other movies). The guy knows how to direct and be creative with a movie of Trek's caliber. The before-mentioned movies were blockbusters and had major critical acclaim. It was stupid to go for a director that doesn't do these kind of movies(and being famous in other genres OBVIOUSLY doesn't produce a great movie).

That was the first problem, the second was with the producers. Rick Berman did a decent job in keeping the flame of the final frontier, but I do believe that he may be tiring and the demise of ENTERPRISE was a perfect example. Going with just the character development of the movie and not the substance doesn't work with a multi-layered saga like Star Trek. Also if Brannon Braga(the "real" reason why ENTERPRISE died such a bad death...in my opinion) had some dealing with it,it probably did. This guy just doesn't get it either.

Well, there is rumor of there being an eleventh movie dealing with another prequel of the original series. I hope the producers and powers behind Star Trek learn from the this very big blunder and NOT do the same mistake a THIRD time.

Paradise Falls (2001– )
A bit campy, but a good campy....great show
15 September 2005
I started watching the show PARADISE FALLS because of the actors and actresses that I noticed from other shows like MUTANT X and EARTH: FINAL CONFLICT. It is on the HERE-TV network in this city and I was hooked from the first episode(and the guy who plays Michael's butt).

It has the feel of MELROSE PLACE with some magic and thrown in and better dialog. Though it is on a gay and lesbian-based channel, there is nothing stereotypically gay about the show. It has a compelling cast, beautiful women, hot guys(who aren't shy about showing their goods) and stories that can't be shown and haven't been shown on TV in the states.

I would say more......but that would be telling. if you have satellite, check out HERE-TV and watch the show. Trust me there is nothing "gay" about the show-not that gay is bad-anyway, watch it you'll like it....Later.

Not an A movie, but at a B
18 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen several of David Decoteu's films, many of them were from the BROTHERHOOD series. Though they are definitely not something I would pay money at the theater to see, they are not horrible(trust me, I have seen worse movies caring the name: horror). I would have to say they are creative.

The S/F/X are not exactly top-notched, but they are decent for B-type movies. However, the light shows are not the reasons why many people watched the movies, it's the characters and the way they are shown.

The actors that Decoteu picks for his movies are......how can I say...very attractive in more than the professional way. They are shot in ways that would be classified as provocative and teasing. This movie stays with that tradition-especially during a shower scene; I started to feel sorry for the guy in that scene. I don't normally look at another guy's body but he was....very well toned and it was a pity that what happened to his character happened. The director also does some very long shots on showing their bodies. Basically scanning every inch, from some very well defined legs to very toned abs and chests. None of these guys are nude in his movies(except for one), but there is so much emphasis on the male form and the ways that they are shown that one would almost say that they are.

To make this jumble of paragraphs mean something, I will end it with this. If you are looking for big budget movies with well-known actors and big S/F/X, look somewhere else. But if you are looking for a decent movie with some very attractive guys who are in great shape, with a decent story plot, then this is the one for you. You can see these currently on HERETV. Some can be rented as well(for the non-satellite watchers). So, make your own decision. Later.
