His only horror movie. You can tell he had a lot of fun with this, and so did I. The most surprising thing is how creepy it was. You scared me, Pacino! The cinematography is incredibly gorgeous too.

A disturbing look at police force corruption. Serpico was a hero, and Pacino does an honor to him with his portrayal.

8.2/10:
It's that odd independent project which people saw and were confused by afterwards. But while others think the confusing tone is a bad thing, I think that's the appeal. There's something mysterious about it which I can't quite explain. Don't knock it, give it a chance and judge for yourself.

Votes: 57,749 | Gross: $3.30M
7.5/10:
Sure it has some flaws and the ending felt a bit rushed, but I thought it was enjoyable for what it was. It's really more about friendships than about crime life.

7/10:
All over the place (I still couldn't figure out the plot one hour into the movie) and kinda disappointing, but solid for a time passer and it's a load of fun seeing Pacino play the mayor. John Cusack and Bridget Fonda are also good as usual.

7/10:
Surprisingly enough it's Robert De Niro who steals the show instead, but Pacino was still good in it. The Razzie nomination was very unwarranted.

Director: Daniel Algrant | Stars: Al Pacino, Téa Leoni, Ryan O'Neal, Kim Basinger

6/10:
The first 30 minutes are great.
The rest of it makes me scratch my head. I was pretty irritated after watching it I'll admit, since the plot could've been handled much better with a more competent screenwriter.
Eh. It's okay.

Votes: 48,617 | Gross: $22.86M
6/10:
Good humor and acting (from the *first* lead), but a dull plot and awful acting from Matthew McConaughey makes this one forgettable.
33. 88 Minutes (2007)

Votes: 78,333 | Gross: $16.93M
6/10:
I didn't even hate it, it's simply another case of squandered potential. The first half hour is promising, but as the movie goes on less and less starts to make sense, not to mention Pacino and William Forsythe are the only good actors here. The rest of them are terrible, especially Alicia Witt and Leelee Sobeiski.

Director: Shintaro Shimosawa | Stars: Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino, Alice Eve
Votes: 17,846
6.8/10:
It wasn't awful, but I expected much more. You can watch it once, but is not very suitable for repeated viewings.
36. Looking for Richard (1996)

Al Pacino's deeply-felt rumination on Shakespeare's significance and relevance to the modern world through interviews and an in-depth analysis of "Richard III."
Director: Al Pacino | Stars: Al Pacino, Alec Baldwin, Kevin Spacey, Frederic Kimball
Votes: 8,572 | Gross: $1.36M
8.3/10:
A very good documentary! It's an ambitious subject, and Al Pacino does a great job directing it. And while he's himself in most of the movie, he's fantastic in the scenes where he's acting (doing the Richard III play). A must for all fans of Pacino.
37. The Merchant of Venice (2004)
R | 131 min | Drama, Romance
In 16th century Venice, when a merchant must default on a large loan from an abused Jewish moneylender for a friend with romantic ambitions, the bitterly vengeful creditor demands a gruesome payment instead.
Director: Michael Radford | Stars: Al Pacino, Joseph Fiennes, Lynn Collins, Jeremy Irons
Votes: 38,264 | Gross: $3.77M
Interesting movie, mostly due to Pacino's fantastic performance. I love how he reads Shakespeare, with such passion and confidence in the words.
The length is overbearing however and some scenes are boring which is why the rating isn't higher, but still a solid adaption of a classic play, and they couldn't have gotten anyone better to play Shylock. 7.5/10
38. Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
R | 100 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery
An examination of the machinations behind the scenes at a real estate office.
Director: James Foley | Stars: Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Alan Arkin
Votes: 116,293 | Gross: $10.73M
9/10:
Nonstop entertaining dark comedy and real estate salesmen. Not really a subject I'm interested in, but the cast of characters are so colorful and expertly acted you don't need to be an expert to be having a blast. Of course though, the best one of all is Al Pacino, perfectly walking the fine line between a man of authority and someone who cares about how you feel, could be your friend. One of his best few comedy performances.
