Parts of this didn't age too well, but overall it's cute and fun.
It was actually turned into a Broadway musical, and you can watch the filmed version of the musical - Kinky Boots: The Musical (2019).

The plot was silly at times and the ending was very abrupt (The show was cancelled, but it ended conclusively enough. No cliff hangers.). But this show holds up pretty well. It can be genuinely atmospheric and spooky.
As for the romance, Melina is already married to Jim in the first episode, so their marriage gets a lot of screentime.

This is ok. It's a weird story but it's funny and the female friendships are cute.
On one hand, this movie is extremely anti-climatic, and so it feels like the plot about girls getting revenge on Tucker (which is the main plot) was all for nothing.
On the other hand, this isn't a cliché romcom. It's about the bonds of friendship between John's love-interests, instead of romance. Things also get resolved in a unique way.
