Sf Studios, the leading Scandinavian banner behind “Snabba Cash” and “A Man Called Otto,” has boarded “Kingmaker,” the sequel of the 2004 Danish hit movie “Kongekabale.”
The political thriller is an adaptation of Niels Krause-Kjær’s second novel “Mørkeland” about the adventures of an investigative journalist, Ulrik Torp. The initial movie was a local blockbuster, selling over 550,000 tickets in Danish theaters.
The film, directed by Mikkel Serup, brings back Anders W. Berthelsen in the lead role as Ulrik Torp, starring alongside Danish star Nicolas Bro (“Riders of Justice”) and Charlotte Munck (“Open Spaces”) also returning in their roles. Penned by Marie Østerbye, “Kingmaker” is produced by Sara Namer and Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl at Meta Film, and executive produced by Meta Film’s Louise Foldager. Sf Studios distributes the film in the Nordics, while REinvent handles international sales.

A spy movie for children might seem like an odd choice for me to review but I have watched and enjoyed several of the Spy Kid franchise films, so why not try some more?
Next Door Spy is an animated tale about ten year old Agathe-Christine (or AC) who has just moved into a new house and town with her family and wants to a small detective bureau in the basement. Her first case involves a boy who lives nearby and becomes a lot more complicated than she expected.

Roughly eight months on from its arrival in cinemas, a sequel to Lionsgate and Saban’s Power Rangers reboot still hasn’t been officially announced. Before the movie’s release, the studio was open about their plans for a long-running franchise potentially spanning six outings. Once the film failed to spark the box office alight, however, things went quiet. And understandably so.
Is all hope lost, though? Maybe not. While chatting with The Wrap recently, Power Rangers star Dacre Montgomery – who played Jason the Red Ranger – was asked what’s happening with the sequel. He couldn’t confirm anything, of course, but did mention that in his eyes, another installment isn’t “out of sight.”
“I think that cast, we’re like family — we have a little group chat — we all would love to do a sequel,” Montgomery said. “I know we’d all be there in a heartbeat and...

A recurring, albeit minor, critique regarding the near-flawless first season of Netflix’s sumptuous historical drama The Crown is that the now multi-award-winning series lacked any serious perforation – especially when it came to chiseling away at the monarchical members’ seemingly impenetrable personal lives.
A ridiculously lavish serial, featuring a steadfast ensemble delivering formidable performances from start to finish, earning John Lithgow (Winston Churchill) a Primetime Emmy and Claire Foy (Queen Elizabeth II) a Golden Globe for their efforts, The Crown’s first season was a deluge of pomp and circumstance and enchanting personalities that made for highly watchable TV. However, some found creator Peter Morgan’s initial sculpting of the Monarchy more ideal for the powers that be as the royal family were more so seen, rather than heard.
Triumphantly, in its second season, The Crown does away with deference and protocol, unspooling the tightly coiled yarns of several of...

Lionsgate and Saban had big plans for a Power Rangers cinematic universe when the reboot arrived back in March, but things seemed to go very quiet on that front once the film failed to make much of a splash at the box office. Not to mention that it’s been revealed that Saban has not renewed the trademark for the revamped Power Rangers logo used in the recent movie, suggesting that any chances of a sequel have been put to bed.
Apparently, though, that’s not the case. In an official statement from a representative for the company, it’s been vehemently denied that they’re ruling out another Power Rangers pic, while it’s also mentioned that the story about the logo trademark is a lot more “nuanced” than was previously reported.

Back in January I brought you all the awesome news that Manga Entertainment UK had secured the rights to distribute the awesome 1993 classic series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on DVD for the first time in the UK… Ever. Obviously as a massive fan of the original series there was no way this was getting by me, You know for Nostalgia and stuff.
Well I got home from my family holiday a short while ago and was psyched to find the full series one boxset on my door mat and wasted no time in tearing through this 6-disc collection of my childhood viewing pleasures (my “Rosebud” if you like). While we’re still not sure if this year’s Power Rangers reboot will prove successful enough to warrant a sequel, let’s just enjoy the fact that a childhood favourite of many 90s children was brought to the big screen once again in the first place. Though it didn’t please everyone, there were several awesome moments – not least the cameo starring Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stars Jason David Frank and Amy Jo Johnson. Otherwise known to fans as Tommy the Green Ranger and Kimberly the Pink Ranger (a role played by Naomi Scott in the reboot).
In the movie, the pair appeared at the end of the Rangers’ big battle with Rita Repulsa and Goldar. As the townsfolk of Angel Grove gaze up in awe at the Megazord, Frank and Johnson can be seen in the crowd. A nice touch is that they’re wearing their respective Ranger colours.

Back in March, Saban's Power Rangers hit the big screen. The classic television show turned film by Lionsgate ended up with a little over $140 million dollars worldwide. Although there were some great nostalgic moments in the film, and I thought the choices of actors/actresses were decent, it could have been so much better with some changes. My biggest complaint was the way the Megazord came together. I was really looking forward to the individual Zords transforming, and then coming together piece by piece. A lot fans were also really looking forward to seeing the film pay homage to the original cast. Although this film is already out on Blu-Ray and DVD I will still put out a courtesy Spoiler Warning. Well, we only got two of the original Rangers. Jason David Frank, who played Tommy the Green and White Ranger, and Amy Jo Johnson, who played Kimberly the Pink Ranger in the original series.

In a very busy few weeks of popular films, Saban's Power Rangers hit theaters last Friday and did better than expected bringing in about $40.5 million, which still came second to the Disney juggernaut Beauty and the Beast which hauled in an additional $88 million domestically. The all new Power Rangers were able to connect to both an older generation that watched the 90's series Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the younger crowd who has seen some of the newer incarnations of the team. We now know that the franchise is planning to try and make multiple film story arc, so obviously we are going to see some other familiar characters pop up. A green ranger maybe? Or how about a white ranger?
Before I go on with the topic at hand I would like to give a Spoiler Warning as I will be discussing some of the events of the film.

The Power Rangers reboot, in theaters now, has undoubtedly sent lifelong fans down a nostalgic wormhole, back to 1993, when we spent three seasons and 145 episodes asking our parents to pretty pretty please enroll us in martial arts.

Mighty Morphin’ Warning! If you haven’t seen the 2017 Power Rangers reboot, we recommend coming back after to avoid spoilers!
If you were a child in the 1990s with a working pulse, it was hard to avoid the emotional investment and ultimate heartbreak that was Green/White Ranger Tommy Oliver and Pink Ranger Kimberly Hart’s love saga from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series (which was a reality show, by the way).
With the release of the Power Rangers reboot, out Friday, we can’t help but revisit a sleeper cell of nostalgic and fragile emotions, help!
In the briefest of recaps: Fans were heartbroken when Kimberly left the Power Rangers in season 3 to pursue gymnastics -- leaving her catch-of-a-boyfriend, Tommy, behind and later ending their relationship via letter, revealing she met ‘the person she belongs with’ in Florida.
Review: 'Power Rangers': Dark and Gritty and Wonderfully Silly

As Power Rangers rides high at the box office, a look at what led to this point...
Lionsgate’s new Power Rangers film, out in cinemas now, is not a film which assumes any prior knowledge of the Power Rangers franchise. But that doesn’t stop it from containing a number of sly nods for long-term fans, and perhaps the slyest of these comes early in the movie, when Kimberly (Naomi Scott) is confronted in the school toilets by her frenemy Amanda. In a heated exchange, Amanda tells her:
“You shouldn’t have sent Tai that picture of me.”
Either this line is an extraordinary coincidence, or its middle words combine, Megazord-style, to form a tip of the hat towards Sentai - or rather, Super Sentai - the Japanese franchise from which the Power Rangers TV show has always taken the bulk (no pun intended) of its action footage.

With a big budget reboot a few months away, it’s safe to say that the Power Rangers are officially back. Not that they ever really left, mind you. Despite the decreased awareness, Saban Entertainment’s franchise has continued to churn out new entries continuously since 1993. If you ask most, though, they’ll only be able to recall the original group of Teenagers with Attitude. With that in mind, it makes sense that Bandai Namco would turn to that iteration for Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle.
Loosely following the events of the original series, Power Rangers: Mega Battle is a brief version of the first two seasons. Bringing together the original five Rangers, plus the Green Ranger later on, up to four players can team-up in order to take down Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. The team will face off against familiar foes from the show,...

Nintendo has been hard at work to make their version of "Toys to Life" become more diverse and interactive. They've done just that with their new line of Amiibos coming early 2016.
It all starts with one of Nintendo's best games and their hottest franchise, The Legend of Zelda. On March 4, Zelda fans can get their hands on the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD version for close to $60. Included with the game is a one of a kind Wolf Link Amiibo that allows players to activate a bonus area called, "The Cave of Shadows". This never-before-played cave will act as a new, timed, challenge course.
The other cool detail about this amiibo is that other Legend of Zelda amiibos can be used to provide different perks to Link, including Ganondorf which actually makes Link take double damage. Obviously that would be used as an added challenge.

Saban Entertainment’s superhero story soon spawned an entire entertainment franchise, and the IP still resonates with people today thanks to merchandise and the like. And while Lionsgate has picked up the Rangers’ film rights ahead of a 2016 release, acclaimed filmmaker Joseph Kahn today unveiled a gritty, R-rated interpretation of the source material.

Sure, there was time for them to have a little fun - we're looking at you, the sequence of Sir Tom Jones saying "yeah" repeatedly (which we loved, obviously) - but they also had to get serious. So congratulations are in order for the six acts that made it through tonight - here's what we made of them...

Dancing With The Stars is rocketing towards its final episodes, and the competition has never been hotter as the show's best couples performed some of their most impressive dances on Monday night's jaw-dropping episode.
The big story going into this week was Alfonso Ribeiro's back injury, which he suffered during rehearsals earlier this week. Everyone tuned in to see how it would affect his performance, but it seemed to only make him stronger and more determined.

In the '80s, we got Countdown and Channel 4. In the '90s, we got the Spice Girls and Channel 5. In the '00s, we got Dave and Top Gear repeats.
And in the whatever-we-call-this-decade, we've got ITVBe and Towie. Lots and lots of Towie.
Not content with ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4, the broadcaster launches ITVBe this evening, a home for "entertainment and lifestyle" programming. That basically means more Towie.
Who would want to miss this momentous moment in broadcasting history? All the big guns - Jamelia, Mark Wright and Denise Van Outen - are involved at some point tonight, and we'll be sticking it out for the duration.
We'll be live blogging the whole evening from the Peter Andre kick-off at 7pm to the closing of the reem Towie party at 11pm - just dipping out in time to avoid Joe Swash on Celebrity Dinner Date.

Twenty years ago a bizarre, action-packed kids series called Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers premiered and garnered a fast, rabid following. For the 12-and-under set, the show served as a bridge between Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Saved By the Bell: Yes, there were cartoonish fight scenes and giant robot villains, but the show also exalted cool teenagers and made you feel like part of their Angel Grove-protecting posse. You could feel like a kid and a tolerable preteen among their ranks.
If you didn’t watch Power Rangers from at least ’93-’95, you were nothing to me. I got my Power Rangers action figures from the soon-to-be-bankrupted Venture department stores in the Midwest, and I became obsessed with dinosaurs because of the Power Rangers “roll call” (“Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber-toothed tiger! Tyrannosaurus!”), and not because of Jurassic Park. That’s what separates kids born in 1981 from kids born in 1986, Fyi.

Last week we had the first set photo of Chloe Moretz from Kimberly Peirce's remake of Carrie and now we have a glimpse at the new film's Sue Snell. In the remake, Sue Snell is played by Gabrielle Wilde (The Three Musketeers). Amy Irving played Snell in the Brian De Palma version. For those unfamiliar with Stephen King's source material, Sue Snell is a popular girl dating Tommy Ross. After tormenting Carrie White in the locker room, Sue begins to feel remorse for her actions. She asks Tommy...

A Game Of Thrones #1 Book One of A Song of Ice and Fire
Based on the novel by George R.R. Martin
Adapted by Daniel Abraham
Art by Tommy Patterson
Letters by Marshall Dillion
Colors by Ivan Nunes
Covers by Alex Ross, Mike S. Miller
Dynamite Entertainment
Release Date: September 21, 2011
Cover Price: $3.99
George R.R. Martin's books are iconic fantasy novels that I hold in the highest regard. A Game Of Thrones #1 was everything I could ever want in an adaptation...and more. Unlike the HBO miniseries of the same name, this comic book delivers a better depth of the book as opposed to trying to make it fit into segmented television programs. Not that I disliked the show, but it was a concise version of one of the greatest fantasy books I've ever read.
While it doesn't quite match up visually to what my mind created while reading the original book,...
