The "Nightmare on Elm Street" film series was a hotbed for emerging talent. Many of the directors in the franchise would go on to prolific or interesting careers. Chuck Russell, director of "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" would go on to make Hollywood blockbusters like "The Mask," "Eraser," and "The Scorpion King." Renny Harlin, who directed "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" would likewise enter the Hollywood mainstream with films like "Predator 2," "Die Hard 2," "Cliffhanger," and "Cutthroat Island." Jack Sholder, Stephen Hopkins, and Rachael Talalay also emerged from the series' directors pool.
One can also find a few rising actors at the start of their careers throughout the Freddy Krueger movies. Famously, a young Johnny Depp starred in Wes Craven's 1984 original, and, for "Dream Warriors," Patricia Arquette made her cinematic debut.

The Bloody Man begins with a night shot of assorted Masters of the Universe toys on a table, telling us that it’s another throwback to the 80s. Granted if you saw any of the film’s announcements hyping the presence of two actresses from A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Lisa Wilcox and Tuesday Knight you probably guessed that already.
Sam (David Daniel) has recently lost his mother Laurie (Lisa Wilcox). His father wasted no time in moving stepmom Kim (Tuesday Knight) in. To make it worse, both his brother Michael (Sam Hadden) and sister Amy (Olivia Sanders) accept her, while Sam is suspicious of her and her motives.
It’s this family dynamic, along with Sam being bullied at school, that takes...

Exclusive: Freestyle Digital Media has acquired North American rights to a pair of coming-of-age dramas: writer-director Alana Waksman’s debut feature We Burn Like This, and writer-director Anna Matz’s first feature, Love You Anyway. The digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group plans to release both titles across internet and satellite platforms on June 28.
Inspired by true events, the former film from Armian Pictures shows the inherited effects of historical trauma and the strength of survival and healing. When 22-year-old Rae (Madeleine Coghlan), a descendant of Holocaust survivors, is targeted by Neo-Nazis in Billings, Montana, her ancestors’ trauma becomes real. As antisemitism continues to rise in the community, we follow Rae on her journey to forgive herself, her mother and the broken world. We Burn Like This also stars Reservation Dogs‘ Devery Jacobs, as well as Kendra Mylnechuk, Angelo Rizzo, Casidee Riley and Megan Folsom.

How many ride-sharing, serial killing, psychos are we going to get in horror movies? We seem to be getting a new rideshare horror movie at least once every-other month! It seems the “killer in the woods” trope of the genre is officially being replaced by guys (or girls) driving around in rideshare vehicles killing folks willy-nilly. To be fair though, “don’t get into cars with strangers” has been something of a cultural touchstone since the invention of the motor vehicle, though in my day that ‘threat’ was usually aimed at kids and strangers with candy tempting children into vans!

It’s hard to believe that yet another Flashback Weekend is upon us once again, with the longest-running horror convention in Chicago set to take over the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare from Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 4th. This year's festivities look to be a stellar time for genre fans, with a cavalcade of notable guests descending upon the three-day event. As if the lineup for Flashback Weekend 2019 wasn’t already impressive enough, Chicago’s best horror convention recently announced that this year’s event will play host to a Night of the Creeps reunion, featuring director Fred Dekker, Tom Atkins, Jason Lively, Jill Whitlow, and Steve Marshall. And for those of you ultra Notc geeks out there, you’ll even have the opportunity to take an in-costume photo with the whole gang, which should be a total thrill for attendees.
Flashback Weekend revealed earlier this year that genre legends Sam Raimi, Robert Englund, Bruce Campbell, and Tony Todd will all be in attendance this August, making the Chicago horror con a can’t-miss event for horror fans. Other attendees announced for Fbw 2019 include Lance Henriksen, Virginia Madsen, Ted Raimi, Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, Lisa Wilcox, Tuesday Knight, Alicia Witt, Cerina Vincent, and Return of the Living Dead 3’s Melinda Clarke.

Menzel, who performed the Oscar-winning song “Let It Go” from Frozen, did not let the introduction bother her, as she went on stage and delivered a brilliant performance of the massive hit song. She has not commented on the flub.

She tangoed with Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, and now Tuesday Knight is back with the all-new short film Opening Night from director / writer / producer Dakota A. Thomas. Even cooler? You can watch it right here, right now.
We are happy to premiere the short film in its entirety until 12:00 midnight tonight (February 21st)!
"I am not only a lifelong horror fan but admittedly a horrorholic," says director Dakota A. Thomas. "It was built into me from birth. I love telling the story that my first memory in life is watching 'Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday' in theaters at the age of three."
"My mom is to thank for being the sole reason that I've set my sights on such a unique career path. I grew up watching the classic horror films with her on Friday nights after school.

Well, that didn’t take long. In light of the recent controversy involving talk show host Arsenio Hall’s exclusion from a number of media pieces covering the current “battle for Late Night,” the apologies have started to creep in.On Tuesday night, Hall, clearly upset that only a select group of Caucasian talk show hosts were mentioned in The New York Times and on NBC when discussing Jimmy Fallon’s evening competitors, urged his viewers to call the National Broadcasting Company and complain. Brian Williams of NBC News took the brunt of the anger (Hall provided viewers with a phone number to voice their complaints) and thus, Williams issued a statement...

1. 3D Honors: The International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society honored 25 films for "distinguished achievement" at the 3D Creative Arts Awards on Tuesday night. "Metallica Through the Never" won for best "Motion Picture Documentary." 2. Smartphone Filmmaking: Over the last century, each generation of technology revolutionized filmmaking. But with smartphone filmmaking, the barrier to entry drops to something close to zero. David Rosen asks whether 2014 is the year that smartphone filmmaking becomes mainstream. Read more here. 3. Crowdfunding: Just a few years ago, it was nearly unheard of for filmmakers to seek funding on crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter (of course, Kickstarter didn't even exist until 2009) -- and even more unusual for those projects...

Now for many people, the best Noes sequel is number 3 for various reasons. It showed the return of Wes Craven as a writer, and we also have Chuck Russell (The Blob ‘88’) as both writer and a superb director. So it would make sense that anything that would come after would most likely be the whipping boy if it wasn't as good. Now, does that make part 4 a bad sequel? No, not at all in fact, it’s one of my personal favorites in the series. Does that make it better than part 3? No, not really as it does begin to fall into cliché and cheap scares, along with the descent of Freddy Krueger into a clown.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master was probably a career peak for actress Tuesday Knight. Well, the first act of that horror sequel was anyway. Her character may not have been long for this world, but at least she got a chance to sing the opening credits song before getting tossed in a furnace by Freddy.
Tuesday Knight inherited the role of Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors survivor Kristen from actress Patricia Arquette after Arquette decided she wanted to move on to bigger and better film roles that didn’t involve appearing a movie just long enough to get chucked into a furnace by Robert England in the first act of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.

It takes a special final girl to take on Freddy Krueger twice and live to tell about it. Alice Johnson was exactly that girl. Brought to life by actress Lisa Wilcox in the fourth and fifth installments of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Alice was the only final girl in the series to survive the killer clutches of Robert Englund.
Her character was passed the torch by Dream Warriors' final girl, Kristen Parker (Tuesday Knight, who took over the role from Patricia Arquette), when she finally fell victim to Freddy. I did recieve your E-mails and yes I realize we missed Tuesday Knight in Part 4 of our Women of Elm Street Nude series... Shame on us! Knight of course played Kristen Parker in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and got naked in the 1995 Alicia Silverstone flick The Babysitter. I also didn't realize Knight is still working today and has made appearances on some of my favorite TV shows; Veronica Mars (Tracy Holden 3 episodes, 2006), Weeds (Mrs. Fletcher 7 episodes, 2005-2008) and three episodes of Heroes!
