Marcia Nasatir, a trailblazing female executive and producer who elbowed her way into a male-dominated Hollywood, shattering conventions and an important glass ceiling in the process, died on Tuesday morning. She was 95.
In a career of firsts, Nasatir worked for United Artists, Orion Pictures and Carson Productions, while producing the likes of “The Big Chill” and “Vertical Limit.” In 1974, she became the first female vice president of production at a major Hollywood studio when she was tapped for the job at U.A. It was a heady time to be at the studio, which had developed a reputation for backing edgy, filmmaker-friendly fare. In her post, Nasatir helped develop such movie classics as “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Carrie,” “Apocalypse Now” and “Rocky.”
“It was called ‘having a career’ back then, not ‘going to work,'” Nasatir said in a 2018 interview with the San Antonio Current. “I was fortunate.

On June 14 Superman will soar through the skies once again in director Zack Snyder’s action adventure Man Of Steel. A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. Given the character’s iconic status, Henry Cavill, was both excited and humbled to play the titular character in Man Of Steel. “Superman is one of the truly special figures man has created throughout history,” he relates. “He stands for hope, for the ability to conquer adversity against all odds. That’s something we can always hold onto, no matter where we are in life or what’s going on in the world.

In a unique move, movie fans will be flocking to Walmart stores in droves on May 18th. Warner Bros. has partnered with the retail giant to offer a chance to see Man of Steel on June 13th, the day before the official release.
But, you don’t just get in early, your ticket purchase comes with some other goodies, like a special pre-order of the Blu-Ray, digital comic, and more. See below for full details.
Now, this obviously isn’t going to be available everywhere, but 3,700 stores covers a lot of ground. Still, check out walmart.com/manofsteel to check your local area.
More importantly, I’m curious to know if you’re going to jump on this? Is one day early (and some promotional benefits… and really snazzy tickets) enough to move you to take advantage?
Oddly enough, I hope it does. I’m curious to see what comes...

There is either a couple of football fans or Jerry Maguire/Moneyball with this year’s most liked unproduced screenplay. Close to 300 hundred film executives provided with the Black List creators a top ten of their favorite screenplays of the year and the consensus first overall pick (with 65 votes) comes from the recently featured in Variety (10 Screenwriters to Watch 2012) tandem of Rajiv Joseph & Scott Rothman and their drama which has nothing to do with enlisting in the armed forces. Draft Day – about the day in the life of a fictitious Buffalo Bills Gm appears to currently be in turnaround — which only means I expect to see this greenlight perhaps a little later than sooner – worth noting: top spot almost guarantees that the film will indeed go into production (2006, 2010 and 2011 are the exceptions.) Among the more alluring logline subjects we find on the list, I’d be keen on reading the...

Man of Steel is by far one of the films we’re most looking forward to next summer. Following the end of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy this year, all eyes will be on Zack Snyder to see his vision for what could be the start of a new Superman franchise.
This summer brought with it an awesome teaser poster, followed by the immense first trailers for the film, and now Warner Bros. have officially announced that the film will be released next summer in 2D, 3D, and IMAX theatres when it arrives in June.
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here?...

Is it really any surprise to you that Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel will be be released in 3D? At this point it shouldn’t be – first they delayed it for an entire year, and the film is now dilly-dallying while waiting for its June 14th, 2013. release; so hey, why not suck up to children and try to extort more money by post-converting it to 3D?
Warner Bros. just announced that they will be converting the Superman film to 3D, so that they can charge us more to go see it. Here’s Snyder’s not-so-convincing sales pitch:

Like The Dark Knight Rises before it, set photos from Zack Snyder's Superman feature, Man of Steel continue to find their way online, but none of them have been all that interesting until today as The Daily Mail has posted a series of snaps of Russell Crowe as Superman's Krpyton father Jor-El on the Vancover set.
Like the costumes we saw for Thor, it's impossible to judge how these will look in the final picture, especially as a series of the images feature Crowe taking a smoke break... I wonder what kind of cigarettes the people of Krypton prefer?
Nevertheless, I've included one of the photos below and you can click here if you need more.

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of this Superman reintroduction with Henry Cavill ("The Tudors") taking on the lead role.

Henry Cavill is the new Superman. Although we’ve been seeing tons of set photos from The Dark Knight Rises, we haven’t seen a whole lot of Cavill as the Man of Steel.

Henry Cavill Superman Photo in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. The Henry Cavill Superman First Photo from Man of Steel (2012) shows us what could be the gritty Superman and Superman film that fans have longed for since the promise of the first two Superman films.
Henry Cavill, Superman, Man of Steel
So much to say about this image. First, I applaud Warner Bros. for getting ahead of the game and releasing a clear, crisp look at their brand new hero before someone snaps a photo with their cell phone while the film shoots in Illinois. That’s something that’s burned Christopher Nolan and his team in Pittsburgh on The Dark Knight Rises so, it seems Zack Snyder and crew are learning.
I agree. By releasing this image, Warner Bros puts themselves in the drivers seat for the pr for the film instead of YouTube, phone cameras, and amateur photographers.

With pictures of Batman and Bane from The Dark Knight Rises flooding the internet, and fanboy cameras on standby to snap the first shot of Anne Hathaway's Catwoman, Warner Bros must know that lenses would soon lock in on the new Superman film.
So the studio has instead unveiled an official first look at Henry Cavill in costume for Zack Snyder's upcoming Man of Steel.
Amid sparks, smoke and some very pale lighting, and looking as though he's just smashed open the door of a steel vault, Cavill wears a heavily-textured Superman suit with a very long cape and has the trademark slicked-back hair (but without the usual curl).
The full image is included below (click on it for a larger version), while a close-up section is above. Also below are the official casting details.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... Henry Cavill.
As Superman.
Warner Bros. has released a first look at the British star in his blue bodysuit and red cape for "Man of Steel," the Zack Snyder-directed reboot in which he plays that Kryptonian do-gooder.
To fit into that suit and attain the built look of Superman, he's been on a crazy diet and workout plan, which he recently revealed involves 5,000 calories a day.
Cavill, formerly of "The Tudors," will next star in the ancient actioner, "The Immortals."
Here's the official press release from Warners; check the photo below.

Warner Bros has released the first official image from Man of Steel which shows what fans have been wanting to see: Henry Cavill as Superman in the new suit.
How sweet is this? Seriously. With all of the leaked set photos from Man of Steel and Dark Knight Rises, it's always good to get something official. So check out the new suit:
Click the image for Super HD version of it.
Since filming really hasn't started yet on this movie, this really is just a promo pic. So don't start hating too much on the heavily photoshopped background. Instead, just check out the details on the new suit. Personally, it seems a little "shiny" to me, but that could be the lighting. Overall, Cavill looks good. He's definitely one of the more muscular incarnations of Superman and the suit seems to fit him well. Anyway check out the press release...

[1] With all the unofficial set photos that have been popping online from the sets of The Dark Knight Rises and Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Warner Bros. has jumped the gun and provided our very first, official, look at Henry Cavill as Superman in the June 14, 2013 [2] film. Check out the full, high-resolution version, after the jump. Thanks to Warner Bros. for the full image. Click on it for the hi-res version. [3] So much to say about this image. First, I applaud Warner Bros. for getting ahead of the game and releasing a clear, crisp look at their brand new hero before someone snaps a photo with their cell phone while the film shoots in Illinois. That's something that's burned Christopher Nolan and his team in Pittsburgh on The Dark Knight Rises so, it seems Zack Snyder and crew are learning. Then there's the photo itself. Instead of just going with your traditional,...

Well we finally have our first look at Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder’s the Man of Steel. Its not really that surprising to see a photo appear, seeing that there are a lot of pictures of set pieces floating around the net. This is not a reaction photo of course, its just your typical standard “first photo” of Cavill breaking down what appears to be a large door to some vault disrupting a heist/robbery. But one thing is for sure it is a much more exciting premiere photo than Josh Hutcherson holding a loaf of bread.
The film also stars three-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams (The Fighter) as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Oscar® nominee Laurence Fishburne (What’s Love Got to Do with It) as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have release the first official image from Zack Snyder's The Man of Steel, and it gloriously shows off actor Henry Cavill in full costume as Superman!
I'm not really sure what to think. I wanted to be really excited for this, but I'm just not digging the costume. Maybe it will grow on me, but at firt glance I've gotta say, I'm not really impressed. Cavil looks fine in the role of Superman, but that costume just isn't doing it for me. Mostly I don't like how the Superman symbol is placed on the chest of the rest of the outfit. Then it's got this weird scaly texture. I don't know, maybe it will work when it's in action of the big screen. As you can see I'm trying to talk myself into liking it. The image definitely gives off a darker vibe to the character.
