Bruce Timm’s Batman: The Animated Series, which kickstarted the DC Animated Universe (Dcau) is regarded as the best adaptation of the Caped Crusader by many. Besides the plot, one of the primary reasons for its popularity was the iconic voice castings. The late Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and Joker have left an indelible mark on the viewers’ minds.
Kevin Conroy’s Batman and Mark Hamill’s Joker
While Conroy is often hailed as the best Batman ever, Mark Hamill’s performance is considered even more praiseworthy than the critically acclaimed live-action works. However, the Star Wars star was not the first choice to play a Dcau role. It was only for voice director Andrea Romano, that Hamill could give us the legendary Joker performance.

Despite the mysticism of voice-over acting and the mysterious voices behind the animated parts, there remains a strong attraction to the medium of animation for actors who strive for real creative potential beyond the allure of recognition and glamor. Kevin Conroy stands out, among the millions of other faceless heroes, as one of the most respected and famous voice actors whose contribution to the DC comics lore has made him synonymous with Batman.

The movie’s pacing plays a major part in its eventual perception by the audience. It gives the filmmakers the freedom of choice whether to stick to the usual narration or to speed up or, on the contrary, slow down the plot progression to create a special impression and to make their movies memorable.
We can recall the fast-paced Trainspotting (1996) or Fight Club (1999), with both of them becoming cultish features, definitive for the whole generation. However, there is a lesser-known 1990’s movie that is also quick to start and to throw a viewer into the heat of its events, appearing to be a brilliant must-watch.

Tim Daly talked to ScreenRant about voicing Superman, who is making a comeback with the remaster of Superman: The Animated Series. Daly opened up about a host of things, but chief among them was the topic of why we need the series to come back, and why it needs the same treatment as X-Men: The Animated Series.
Superman: The Animated Series
Superman: The Animated Series is unlike the shows that audiences have gotten used to nowadays. With a slew of films and shows looking to depict an increasingly violent and “realistic” superhero universe, Daly revealed why the world could use a show like Superman: The Animated Series right about now.

Robert Pattinson was cast as the seventh iteration of a live-action Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Set during the early years of Bruce Wayne’s vigilantism, the film saw the character investigating several murders of high-profile men of power in Gotham. The film was released in 2022 and earned $722 million at the box office.
Though Ben Affleck was still playing the role of the Caped Crusader in the Dceu at the time, he stepped down from a solo Batman film, which allowed Reeves to explore a younger Batman with Pattinson. The Twilight star mentioned that the film was different from previous iterations of the character as it focused on the inner turmoil of Bruce Wayne. According to him, the only other film that achieved the feat was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

James Gunn and Peter Safran have been pretty busy bringing a new era of Dcu to live action. And their first-ever film will be Superman, releasing next year. Starring David Corenswet as the titular superhero, fans are needless to say excited and eagerly awaiting.
Hollywood star David Corenswet is James Gunn’s Superman
Gunn, who is usually sharing updates of the film on his social media, recently tweeted a picture of Corenswet in the iconic red and blue suit. While he looked as good as ever, one fan in particular went on to edit it a bit, and the fan edit looks infinitely better and more in line with Gunn’s vision for the character.

When it comes to iconic superhero costumes, fans can be very passionate about any changes or updates that are made to their favorite characters’ looks. Recently, James Gunn’s Superman (formerly known as Superman Legacy) officially debuted its official David Corenswet Superman suit early on Monday afternoon.
Taking on Threads, Gunn shared the first look of Superman, who can be seen pulling on his boots while sitting in a chair. It is a rather strange look, though. Moreover, it has been noted that the suit appears a little baggy on Corenswet (especially on shoulders) and does not exactly appear to be the ‘muscle clinging’ type from this perspective. But one thing is sure: We have not seen this kind of linework on other suits before.

The DC Animated Universe had a host of versions of Batman strewn across the timeline, but one DC film portrayed the character a little differently than what is usually the tone that is taken for him. Bruce Timm talked to ScienceFiction.com about how he saw Batman, and how one particular film approached the character differently.
Gotham by Gaslight
Gotham by Gaslight is a film that is different than other Batman films, given that the story is set in an Elseworlds, which means it might not necessarily be part of the main Dcau continuity. The film takes Batman and sets him in Victorian London, where the story follows a completely separate trajectory from what is normally expected out of a Batman story.

People in the entertainment industry seem to get into awkward and embarrassing situations all the time, especially after getting drunk at some major events and afterparties. And while we do know that the first name to have popped into your mind after reading this must have been Jennifer Lawrence’s, this one’s about someone else entirely: Robert Pattinson.

As it turns out, Pattinson once got drunk enough to get into a fight after midnight with none other than the iconic diva who made her way to becoming one of the top artists in the music industry from scratch, Adele. And, unsurprisingly enough, things didn’t really turn out all too well for the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire star, as he later admitted just how much he regretted that encounter.

How’s this for a swoon-worthy romantic moment? Aza (Isabela Merced), darkly beautiful and shy, find herself alone with Davis (Felix Mallard), a rich-kid dreamboat, at his family’s woodside mansion. They’re having a gentle conversation; the sparks are flying. As the music swells, you feel the time arrive for them to kiss. At which point we hear Aza’s worried voice on the soundtrack saying, “You’ll get his bacteria in your mouth. His bacteria will make you sick.” Or as she puts it a little later to her psychiatrist (Poorna Jagannathan), “How can I have a boyfriend if I hate the idea of kissing him?”
Obsessive-compulsive disorder can take many forms, and in “Turtles All the Way Down,” based on the hugely popular young-adult novel by John Green (“The Fault in Our Stars”), it takes a rather classic one: Aza spends her entire existence terrified of germs — of contamination and infection.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not what it used to be. Although the statements might be hurtful, there have never been so many delays in a Marvel film before as Mahershala Ali’s upcoming MCU film Blade.
It’s not just about the infinite delays though, it feels as if the MCU has dropped its standards after the events of Avengers: Endgame. With people getting hurt by these Marvel updates, fans are not liking the news of Mahershala Ali’s delayed film!

However, while these reports may leave those fans of his who have been waiting so long to see him don a costume once again hopeful, the 51-year-old mastermind’s past comments on superhero films are more than enough to crash that hope.

When James Gunn and Peter Safran revitalized the Dceu, rebranding it as the Dcu, it signaled a major overhaul in casting. Ben Affleck’s departure from the role of Batman was no secret, and Robert Pattinson’s portrayal, while acclaimed, existed within the realm of Elseworlds, separate from the primary cinematic universe.
With nearly the entire “Superman” cast being replaced, speculation now turns to the next Batman actor. Three prominent contenders have emerged, each eager for the coveted role.
1. Alan Ritchson
Ritchson didn’t hide his desire to portray Batman; he’s been vocal about it, even expressing a willingness to shout it from rooftops. With the physique and voice suited for the role, he’s garnered a sizable fanbase eager to support his candidacy. For Ritchson, taking on the mantle of The Dark Knight would be a prestigious honor, given Batman’s intellect, array of gadgets, and supercars. As...

Famously known for bringing Bella Swan to life on the big screen, Kristen Stewart has always been vocal about her thoughts on the Twilight series. In a recent interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the actress once again shared her take on the films and the dynamics of the characters and their relationship.
Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan in Twilight
Harboring fondness for her iconic Twilight character, Kristen Stewart, revealed that if she were in Bella’s shoes, in real life, she would have ended her romance with Edward Cullen. While the world unanimously appreciated Bella and Edward’s romance, Stewart seemed to have a different opinion, where she called out the controlling nature of Robert Pattinson’s character.

Kristen Stewart is gearing up to star in another vampire project, but for us we’ll always remember her as Bella Swan from Twilight.
It’s been more than a decade since the 34-year-old star last shared the screen with the likes of Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in the massively popular young adult series. Now, she’s gearing up to return to the world alongside Oscar Isaac in a new thriller called Flesh of the Gods.
The new project is shaping up to be a hit, but Twilight will always be the role that turned Kristen into a household name.
She’s so closely related to the part at this point in her career. However, like any other role in Hollywood, there was stiff competition with multiple stars in the running to play Bella.
Twilight was already a successful book series by the time that the first movie was being made.

The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the finest superhero franchises out there, and while The Dark Knight Rises did close the book on Christian Bale’s Batman, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan would eagerly return for more.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, was asked by Showsha if he’d like to return to the Batman franchise. “Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Working with Christian [Bale], Heath [Ledger], Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and to honor an American icon. If I had the chance to go back and work on that again? Absolutely.“
Getting that bang back together would be a tall order, as Nolan admitted, “We’ve moved onto other things,” and “other people have picked up the mantel and moved on with those characters.

The Batman: Arkham series has consistently pushed boundaries within the superhero video game genre, and is still regarded by many as the best in the biz. In 2015, series developer Rocksteady Studios faced a critical decision during the development of Batman: Arkham Knight.
The PS4 and Xbox One, the then-new generation of consoles, were picking up steam among gamers. While some studios opted to develop cross-generational titles to cater to the established player base on PS3 and Xbox 360, Rocksteady went in a bolder direction instead.

Superhero games today have a lot of inspirational titles that came before the modern era of gaming. Back in 2009, Batman: Arkham Asylum arrived as one of the most phenomenal takes on the Batman universe. Ever since, few games have managed to do justice to the genre.
It has been eight years since the last game in the series came out, and the upcoming entry into the series, Batman: Arkham Shadow, is going to be a fresh take on the franchise. However, fans don’t seem too excited about this one, especially because it’s a VR title and not something else.
Even though the new game promises to make the best use of VR technology, is it truly necessary? Furthermore, why is this new entry so upsetting to fans?

Spoiler alert: As much as Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt remain the undeniable draws of "The Fall Guy," there are multiple contenders in the cast for the sought-after crown of "Best Scene Stealer." You have Aaron Taylor-Johnson, an inspired bit of casting as the insufferable A-lister casting a long shadow over Gosling's stuntman Colt Seavers. Then there's the great Hannah Waddingham, chewing up the scenery (and then some) as the no-nonsense producer Gail Meyer who stops at nothing to keep the show on the road. Heck, you could even go with either of the two dogs that portrayed Jean Claude, the Australian Kelpie that only responds to French commands and takes on an unforgettable supporting role amid all the action.
But more than anyone else, it's Winston Duke who walks away with one of his funniest and most memorable performances in recent years as Dan Tucker, a veteran stunt coordinator...

While it might seem inevitable that Hayao Miyazaki’s latest would hit physical disc this year, what’s different is the format we’re talking about. The Boy And The Heron has been announced for DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K — the first Miyazaki film to be offered in a resolution that high. It’s true; none of the other Ghibli notables have hit 4K disc yet. Whether that’s because of rights issues or not, we don’t know, but this one’s new enough to have 4K as an option right from the start. There will be three editions of The Boy And The Heron available, each with two discs: DVD and Blu-Ray, 4K and Blu-Ray, and a limited edition Steelbook (with 4K and Blu-Ray). Each version will contain both the original Japanese track and a new English track starring the voices of Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe,...

10. Remember Me (2010)
Robert Pattinson’s Remember Me remains a serious romance drama for the vast majority of its duration. A troubled rich kid falls in love with a NYPD Detective’s daughter; they go through a lot together and admit their feelings to each other… And then, out of absolutely nowhere, he dies in the 9/11 attack. The end. Seriously?
9. Lucy (2014)
Scarlett Johansson's Lucy explores the classic “people are only using 10% of their brains” scenario. Let’s travel back to 2008 when the summer hit its fever pitch of the long-awaited Christopher Nolan superhero epic, The Dark Knight. I could remember it like it was yesterday when I was a sophomore in college reading up on all the production coverage I could find and rewatching those amazing trailers, following that online campaign and viral marketing, which was way ahead of its time. My presale tickets were bought; I was amped beyond words for what I was about to witness. I think it was the longest wait in a theatre line as well, clocking in three hours before seating on opening night at my local IMAX. Because, at that time, seats weren’t reserved, and it was a battle royale trying to get that coveted middle-row seat. Picture “Running of the Bulls” in Spain, but with people trying to get that damn middle row. Boy, how far...

Without the heft of the cultural phenomenon that surrounded their release, the Twilight films now come off as witless and inert. They feel like TV movies, like a cheap Netflix acquisition dumped into a submenu without fanfare.

Weathering an unusual path to theaters, Bill Skarsgård’s recently released Boy Kills World witnessed a rough start at the box office. Studio Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki is 83; because of this and his own past flirtations with retirement, some morbid critics are a bit too eager to look at how each new Miyazaki film would serve as his career capstone.
I'm going to keep such thoughts to a minimum, but Miyazaki's latest film, 2023's "The Boy and the Heron", couldn't have been made by anyone but a man aware he's aging. Set in Japan during World War II, the movie centers on young Mahito, who must reckon with the loss of his mother as he falls into a Lewis Carroll-style fantasy world held together by its elderly creator.
"The Boy and the Heron" won Best Animated Feature at the Oscars earlier this year (which it totally deserved). If you haven't seen it yet, don't fret. U.S. distributor GKids has announced the home media release date for the film — including a Blu-ray release date.

This post contains spoilers for "Tenet."
Time inversions, palindromes, and temporal pincer movements — these are just some of the concepts that contribute to the wonderfully confusing narrative of "Tenet," which is an experience that benefits the most from repeat viewings. The moment a story defies linear comprehension and flits between different points in time, things get a bit tricky, especially within the context of a mission to preserve the past from the future, where time is being reversed for people to move backward. The events in "Tenet" are palindromic, where moments that move forward and backward in time eventually meet to form a closed temporal loop, where every character is seen participating in multiple timelines until the loop is closed.
The key to understanding "Tenet" is inversion, a process achieved when entropy is reversed, allowing a person or object to move backward in time, as opposed to traditional forward progression.

From Adam West in the ’60s to Robert Pattinson in 2022, a plethora of iterations of Batman have been presented onscreen since the character’s inception. But while most of them are great in their own right, nobody quite embodied the spirit of the caped crusader like the late Kevin Conroy, who is still considered by many to be the definitive version of Batman.
However, Conroy wasn’t the initial choice to voice the character, and even when he was considered for the part, the actor was interested in voicing other characters, which ended up frustrating Andrea Romano.

The Twilight film franchise left behind a legacy that still lives on today, and it introduced us to a talented (and very wealthy) cast of stars.
Based on author Stephenie Meyer‘s novels, the franchise helped to lay the groundwork for a new generation of teen fantasy blockbusters. It also set up its stars for a successful run in Hollywood.
Of course, some of the most recognizable stars from the franchise are the three main leads – Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. However, the rest of the Cullen family and several other stars from the franchise have also enjoyed successful careers in Hollywood.
The franchise is on our minds again thanks to a recent cast reunion and a prominent star welcoming their first child. We decided to check out what sort of fortunes the stars have amassed, and you might be surprised by where some of the actors fall on the list.

Actor Zoe Kravitz makes her directorial debut with psychological thriller Blink Twice, and here’s the trailer.
Actor Zoe Kravitz has turned filmmaker, having teamed up with Et Feigenbaum for Blink Twice, her directorial debut which initially went under the title Pussy Island. It hasn’t been confirmed exactly what prompted the name change, but we didn’t spot any cats in the trailer.
Anyway, the synopsis reads as follows:
When tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone’s having a great time. Tom Cruise and Robert Pattinson are two of the most iconic actors in Hollywood, with one climbing the ladder like there’s no tomorrow and the other ruling over it. While the two of them have never shared the big screen together, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they haven’t met either. Superman has always been the most hopeful and powerful hero, whether it is about DC, or Marvel. With the many adaptations of the Kryptonian hero, some get regarded as masterpieces while others die before they can even reach the surface. Adaptations find key elements that please the audiences and the DC Animated Universe is by far excelling the most in that.
All-Star Superman
All-Star Superman is a film that came and went by with powerful performances and a gripping story. Robert Eggers’ kind of film rarely lands him a bulky paycheck from Hollywood. The director is just three movies old and all of his films are rooted in historical folklore. Eggers is currently working with an ensemble cast of youngsters for his fourth film, Nosferatu. His fame began with the 2016 horror film, The Witch, which marked the debut of Anya Taylor-Joy in Hollywood. However, Eggers is not a big fan of his first film.

Eggers did not blame Taylor-Joy or the other performances in the film, but revealed that he couldn’t bring his vision for the film onto the screen. He further revealed that it was only in his third film, The Northman, that he grasped the art of making the film he wanted to do.

Skarsgård is gearing up for his leading role in the upcoming action film Boy Kills World. The film is co-produced by Sam Raimi and the makers of the film had a tough task while casting the main role of the Boy. It seems Skarsgård was not their original choice for the role, and Pete Davidson was considered initially, with the tone of the film also being completely different at the time.

For many fans, Bruce Timm’s Dcau gave the most definitive version of Batman. Matt Reeves’ The Batman took inspiration from Timm’s dark and gritty tone of the character in Batman: The Animated Series. Timm proved that he could develop feature-length animated movies, debuting with the Batman movie, Mask of the Phantasm. However, Timm never once got the call from DC or WB to create a live-action Batman film.
Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm could’ve done a great job with a live-action film
Timm knows that he missed his chance, admitting that he was too lazy to pursue the live-action project. He was even confident that he could come up with a decent movie, that was better than George Clooney’s Batman & Robin and reached somewhere near Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
