A royal author claims that Princess Diana‘s life would have been “posh” and predictable if she hadn’t married Prince Charles. What would the life of the former Lady Diana Spencer have been like if she hadn’t married into the House of Windsor?
What would Princess Diana’s life have been like if she didn’t marry Prince Charles?
Royal author Penny Junor believes that had Lady Diana Spencer not married Prince Charles, her life would have been “posh” and predictable. History Extra reports that Diana would have likely found someone in her social class, settled down, and lived a married life.
“Diana had left boarding school with no real qualifications at all, and she wasn’t a great reader of books,” claims Junor. “In the late 1970s, she studied ballet and briefly taught at the Vacani School of Dance, and she looked after children briefly as a kindergarten teacher.

Over the years many have questioned what Prince William‘s relationship with his stepmother, Queen Camilla (formerly Camilla Parker Bowles), is really like. After all, William was old enough to understand what was going on when his parents separated. He also knew that Camilla was a big part of that as Princess Diana used to refer to her as “Charles’ lady” in front of her sons.
Their relationship was back in the headlines in early 2023 when Prince Harry released his memoir Spare. No matter what happened over the years though, the Prince of Wales and his father’s wife have put on a united front after Queen Elizabeth II’s death when Charles became the monarch. Now footage from the day William and Camilla were on hand when Charles was officially proclaimed king shows the prince’s gesture toward his stepmom when she appeared uneasy on her feet with many...

A royal biographer made a stunning claim regarding Camilla, Queen Consort‘s deepest desires as a young woman in a book about the royal family. Instead of looking for a wealthy husband as a young woman, author Christopher Anderson shared that Camilla Parker Bowles was “holding out for a king.”

Christopher Anderson, author of the book Game of Crowns: Elizabeth, Camilla, Kate, and the Throne, claims that from a young age, Camilla Parker Bowles always wanted to raise her social standing. King Charles III formally ascends to the British throne on May 6, 2023. Then, he assumes the role predestined to him since childhood, when his mother, Queen Elizabeth, became ruler of the United Kingdom before him. Queen Elizabeth II died at age 96 on Sept. 8, after it was announced that she was unwell and under medical observation at Balmoral Castle, with Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, and other senior royals by her side. Understandably, the entire world is mourning the long-ruling monarch - Elizabeth reigned for 70 years, and was the only UK royal leader for many people's lifetimes.
Since the death of the Queen's husband, Prince Philip, in April 2021, questions about the Queen's well-being were top of mind. Queen Elizabeth was, of course, the head of state for 16 nations. So what actually happens now that the Queen has died? From a comedy TV ban to black ties worn by newscasters, read ahead for the official plan that has been in place since the 1960s.
What Does "London Bridge Is Down" Mean?
Fittingly, the plan in place (which has been in development since the 1960s) is called Operation London Bridge.

Prince William and Kate Middleton may not become king and queen for decades yet—and they're undoubtedly in no rush—but when the time comes, they'll be ready. And those who enjoy having a monarchy in their midst can rest assured that William has picked just the right person to be by his side for the duration of the journey, much as the queen herself did 75 years ago. "I think that Kate is a bit like Prince Philip supporting the Queen," royal biographer Penny Junor told People in 2020. "She doesn't outshine William but still has a lot to say herself." It's no secret that Kate, also known as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has been steadfastly stepping...

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting ready to speak their truth. Ahead of their highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, we've gotten a few peeks of what's to come, and in the latest teaser, Meghan states that "there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us." So, who exactly is this "Firm," you ask?
While "The Firm" may be a new phrase to some, those who've been keeping up with the British royal family know that it's commonly used to reference the royal family and their business. "The House of Windsor is a big business, though one with more ups and downs than the stock market," author Penny Junor wrote in the 2005 book The Firm: The Troubled Life of the House of Windsor. "Prince Philip calls it 'The Firm,' and all the royal executives and their powerful...

“The Crown” came under fire by members close to the British royal family last November following the fourth season premiere of the drama series on Netflix. Royal biographer Penny Junor told The Times of London the series was “the most cruel and unfair and horrible portrayal” of the Royal family. But in a new interview with James Corden on “The Late Late Show,” Prince Harry admitted “The Crown” is mostly accurate when it comes to depicting the lifestyle pressures that come with being a British royal. Harry stressed “The Crown” is a fictional piece of work, and he commended the Netflix program for not acting like it’s fact-based news.
“They don’t pretend to be news. It’s fictional — but it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course it’s not strictly accurate, of course,” Prince Harry said. “But loosely, it gives you a rough idea about what...

Reports are coming in from sources close to the British royal family that several members are upset with the just-released fourth season of Netflix’s “The Crown.” The new episodes of Peter Morgan’s popular series tackle the toxic marriage between Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin). Royal biographer Penny Junor tells The Times of London that Charles would likely be “incredibly upset” by Season 4 due to a scene where Charles’ great-uncle, Lord Mountbatten (Charles Dance), says the royal family is disappointed in Charles’ relationship with Camilla Parker-Bowles (Emerald Fennell).
“It’s the most cruel and unfair and horrible portrayal of almost all of them,” Junor told The Times while claiming showrunner and writer Morgan has “invented stuff to make expensive and very rich drama.” The biographer added that Mountbatten’s dismissal of Camilla to Charles’ face is “just not historically accurate” and would be tough for...

The next generation of royals are stealing the spotlight in season three of The Crown, and that's thanks in large part to their love lives being every bit as dramatic as an episode of Days of Our Lives. The sudsy storyline involving Princess Anne and Camilla Parker Boyle's love triangle is all too real. It seems that both Princess Anne and Camilla were involved with the British Army Officer Andrew Parker Boyle in the '70s - and poor Prince Charles ended up being roped into the drama as well when he fell for Camilla.
Royal biographer Penny Junor detailed the tangled love lives of the young royals at the Henley Literary Festival, per Harper's Bazaar. "Camilla was passionately in love with Andrew but he was a cad, he was bonking other people, some of her friends," she reportedly said. It seems his dalliances extended to Princess Anne, who was...

It's fairly common knowledge at this point that Prince William doesn't wear a wedding ring, but as it turns out, he's never worn one at all. In fact, he doesn't even have one. Even at his wedding in 2011, the future king didn't have a ring, although his wife, Kate, did (and wears hers consistently). So, is this another royal rule, or some indicator of Prince William's state of mind about marriage? Nope, it's much simpler than that: he just doesn't like rings.
That's right: in this case, it's simply all about personal preference. Like plenty of guys, Prince William just isn't big on jewelry, and since it's not a "requirement" of etiquette that a royal man wear a wedding ring, he just never got one at all.
"He doesn't like jewelry, and the Palace issued a statement before their wedding saying so," royal biographer Penny Junor told Vogue. The statement...

Diana, Princess of Wales, became a global icon whose every move was followed, but her early years were spent in relative obscurity despite living in one of the queen's back gardens. William and Harry's mom was mixing with royalty long before her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981, but well away from camera lenses. In some ways, Diana's childhood in the English countryside was idyllic, but it was also filled with sadness, too, as she coped with her parents' breakup. Here are some of the most interesting facts about the early years of the late Princess Di.
The queen was her neighbor. Diana was born at Park House on the Sandringham Estate on July 1, 1961, just a stone's throw from Elizabeth II's house. Her parents, John and Frances, had taken a lease on the home soon after their wedding, which was held at Westminster Abbey in 1954 with the queen as guest of honor.

We all know how strongly Diana, Princess of Wales, and Camilla Parker Bowles felt about each other in the '80s and '90s. As Diana's marriage to Prince Charles fell apart, she laid the blame very firmly with Camilla, and the uncomfortable and sometimes angry relationship between the two was played out on a very public stage. But the two women were initially friends. Camilla's biographer, Penny Junor, noted that when Lady Diana Spencer first began dating the heir to the throne in 1980, they were often guests at Bolehyde Manor in Wiltshire, the country home Camilla shared with her first husband, Andrew Parker Bowles. The women enjoyed each other's company, and Diana is said to have enjoyed helping Camilla with her young children, Tom and Laura.

As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot, all eyes are on the bride and the long-awaited reveal of her wedding gown. But there's one other area royal watchers are also interested in: the groom's facial hair. Harry, who served two tours of Afghanistan, is wearing his military uniform for his wedding today, just as his brother, Prince William, did at his 2011 nuptials to Kate Middleton. But army rules dictate that grooms who marry in uniform should, technically, be clean-shaven. "He's not able to wear his Royal Horse Guards uniform with a beard," English journalist Hugo Vickers told the Press Association. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) But Harry clearly broke that rule! The 33-year-old is sporting a full beard for his royal nuptials today — and we must say, he looks quite handsome! Believe it or not, the beloved royal has worn a military dress coat in public with a beard before.

Though it's been decades since Princess Diana's tragic death and Prince Charles' remarriage to Camilla Parker Bowles, new details about the trio's tumultuous relationship continue to emerge. In his new book, Rebel Prince: The Power and Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, author Tom Bower has claimed that Charles and Camilla once plotted to publicly portray Diana as "unbalanced and unfaithful" in order for Camilla to be more well-liked. According to Bower, Charles and Camilla worked with their PR rep and assistant private secretary Mark Bolland to devise a plan to attack Diana's image. They reportedly wanted to "demythologize Diana by portraying her as a manipulative hysteric," following her August 1997 death at age 36. Charles and Diana (left) and Charles and Camilla (right). Channel 4 comedy Fresh Meat has been criticised after including a sexually explicit joke about Prince Harry.
The student comedy has been accused of "degrading" the royal family by including the remark in an episode aired on Monday (November 4).
Comedian Jack Whitehall's character Jp tells another character in the opening instalment of the third series: "I'll take you to a place on the King's Road where Prince Harry got a hand job off an assistant manager at Abercrombie & Fitch."
Channel 4 has responded to complaints by describing the joke as "clearly tongue in cheek", adding that the context of the remark should be considered.
