You might not know the name Gregory Tripi, but you've likely heard his work. He's provided additional music on projects such as "The Knick" and "Contagion," and was the soundtrack producer on Nicolas Winding Refn's "Drive." But he's also worked as a composer in his own right and steps into his most high profile gig yet in that capacity with "Dark Places." And today we have two samples of his compositions from the upcoming thriller. Charlize Theron, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan, Chloë Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Sterling Jerins and Christina Hendricks starring in an adaptation of the best-seller by "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn that follows Libby Day (Theron), who witnesses her family get murdered as a youngster and testifies against her brother when he is tried for the crime. 25 years later, Libby is brought before the secretive, crime-solving Kill Club who want...

Ryan Gosling and Vithaya Pansringarm in Only God ForgivesPhoto: Radius-twc Over at The Playlist they have been posting more and more pictures from Nicolas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives than I could keep up with. So I figured I'd let them get it out of their system and bring the pictures to you when it looked like they may finally be done. While I have to assume a few more will be coming down the line I think it's safe to say 34 pictures, two posters and the details they scored regarding Cliff Martinez's score is enough to go with for now so let's have a look. First off, looking through the production notes they keyed in on Refn's director's statement, the first sentence of which should have those anticipating this film even more excited for what it may have in store: The original concept for the film was...

In less than two weeks, Ryan Gosling will once again walk mutely on screen in a Nicolas Winding Refn film, and probably beat the shit out of someone. We can't wait, but until then, the countdown to the Cannes Film Festival continues and today brings with it the full soundtrack details for the movie. Cliff Martinez reteams with Refn again for the movie, but we might want to hold on expecting more of the usual from the composer. Speaking to us in 2011, the director said "For 'Drive', the feminine pop sound of early electronic music from Kraftwerk very quickly came, as in this would be the music, if the film itself was a piece of music. With 'Only God Forgives,' I started to listen to a lot of Thai country and western." Did that have any bearing on the score? Perhaps not. The list of collaborators...
