Every couple of months in comic book-centric social media circles, someone reposts a comics page in which Deadpool shooting Spider-Man in the head or decapitating an exhausted Bruce Banner. These panels usually spark arguments about whether or not these kills are in character (they aren’t) or if the entire thing is a joke (it is).
Eventually, someone points out that the pages come from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a 2012-2013 miniseries by Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic. The story involves Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking powers driving him so mad that he decides to kill all the other Marvel characters because they’re fictional and their lives don’t matter. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe may have inspired controversy, but it also inspired several sequels, including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.
From all that we’ve seen so far, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to have little in common with Bunn and Talajic’s take.

There’s nothing worse in this world than the rat race.
I bet when you learned there was a sequel to last year’s The Cult Of That Wilkin Boy, a story about the cult-like fandom surrounding a massive pop star, you probably weren’t envisioning an Office Space-type story to be at the heart of its sequel. Okay, that’s not entirely accurate, either, but there are definitely some points made about the literal soul-sucking nature of paperwork, legal red tape, and working for the man.
Office Space itself might not be a horror movie, but so many of us can relate to the horrors of the rigamarole of working life. Of cubicles, deadlines, pesky co-workers, the onslaught of emails—sure, it may all sound like very first-world, 21st-century problems, but they’re ubiquitous enough that so many can relate. It’s not just that work sucks, it...

Now working in the music industry as a cunning manager, Bingo convinces musicians to swap their souls for stardom in our exclusive preview below, and here's what artist Dan Schoening had to say about continuing Bingo's hellish story:
"It's such an honor to come back and tell more of Bingo's story with such an amazingly talented team of creatives. This follow-up feels like a natural progression of a rock star that sold his soul for fame and fortune, and all the sacrifice that comes along with it. This time however, the stakes are much higher, and the scale of terror is much bigger in scope.

Elden Ring is getting its anticipated Dlc in a few months, but Shadow of the Erdtree isn’t the only expansion that FromSoftware fans should be looking forward to in June. The Soulsborne community has been asking for more Bloodborne content since its initial PS4 exclusive release nearly a decade ago, and it seems like the requests have been heard, although not in the most conventional way.
The intriguing lore created by Hidetaka Miyazaki will continue in The Bleak Dominion, another graphic novel that further builds on the gothic world introduced by the Soulslike title in 2015.

Cullen Bunn Returns to the Deepest Catacombs: "In 2020, author Cullen Bunn released The Deepest Catacombs, a serialized comic inspired by vintage advertisements for the Dungeons And Dragons role-playing game. The story, told in 25 single-page installments, featured a different artist on every page. It was released for free for fans of comics, fantasy, and role-playing games. Now, Bunn is returning to the world of The Deepest Catacombs with an all-new 22-page comic that will be released in a serialized format.
“When I finished releasing the initial run of The Deepest Catacombs,” says Bunn, “I knew I would return to that world. I just loved the characters and the nostalgia, the magic and the monsters. And I loved working with so many talented artists! This was, of course, a labor of love, so it has taken me a bit of time to get the ball rolling again, but the story is...

The four-issue series reunites the creators of The Sixth Gun, Cullen Bunn, Brian Hurtt, and Bill Crabtree. Joined by letterer Jim Campbell (The Great British Bump-Off), they tell the tale of a cursed movie production and the horror fans caught in the creepy creature crossover dead set on bringing their nightmares to life.

Just announced earlier today at Screen Rant, Oni Press presents Invasive #1, "A Radical New Experiment in Horror" from Cullen Bunn & Jesús Hervás. With the first issue set for release this December, we have an exclusive look at the incredible and haunting character designs from Jesús Hervás and details on how you can get a special look at the upcoming series!
In an underground hospital secretly operating deep beneath the streets of a major metropolis, a radical new addiction has taken hold.
Once inside its grip, there are no rules, no oaths, and no taboos too deep to not to be broken.
The scalpel is their tool, and the alleys are their operating theater...and, together, a new class of surgeon is bent on piercing the final threshold of accepted medical orthodoxy one incision at a time.
Beyond excess, beyond ethics, beyond science...a delicate and excruciating new discipline is about...

Full Moon’s Subspecies is an interesting franchise. It started in 1991, right at the dawn of a decade that’s all-too-often considered to be a mixed bag of horror offerings, catering to the direct-to-video market that was booming at the time. Until now, with the release of Subspecies V: Bloodrise on Screambox June 2, there had not been an entry in this series since 1998, nor had there even really been much merchandise until the comic book miniseries by Cullen Bunn a few years ago; and yet the vampire franchise still persists as a cult classic.
Subspecies is a seminal vampire franchise, Radu has many loyal followers and that fandom has sustained for decades, with long, long stretches without anything to feed it. That is a true testament to the talents of writer/director Ted Nicolaou, original screenwriter David Pabian, and of course Anders Hove as the villainous Radu. The franchise has...

Giallo-inspired horror from Cullen Bunn and Arjuna Susini is available in comic book shops today in Lamentation #1, "the 48-page opening act of Bunn & Susini’s collision of supernatural terror and gothic suspense!" Whether it's The Phantom of the Opera or Dario Argento's Opera, I always love a good story set within a theatre, and Lamentation had me hooked from the very first few pages. In our latest Q&a, Cullen Bunn talks about the orgins of this story, working with Arjuna Susini, and teases what's to come:
It's been very exciting for me to check out Lamentation, which does an incredible job of evoking the best gialli while still feeling unique and fresh. How did the idea for this series come about?

David Prior's 2020 film "The Empty Man" opens with a prologue that could easily stand alone as one of the most chilling short films ever made. It's 1995, and two couples -- Paul (Aaron Poole) and Ruthie (Virginia Kull), Fiona (Jessica Matten) and Greg (Evan Jonigkeit) -- are hiking through the Ura Valley in Bhutan. After crossing an old, swaying suspension bridge across a yawning chasm, Paul hears a soft sound like someone blowing into an empty bottle. Curious, he wanders off across the mountaintop in search of the source of this sound. As the others watch, he slips through an unseen hole in the rocks and disappears, as though he was never there at all.
It's another twenty minutes before the title card of the movie appears, stylized as "The Em ty Man." By this point, all of the hikers are dead except for Paul, who is trapped in a different kind of hell.

This post contains light spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki season one.
After much speculation, we finally know the name of the next two Avengers movies! Scheduled for release in 2025, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars will cap off Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which begins with Fantastic Four in 2024. We’ve known for some time that Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, will be the prime villain of the next MCU arc, now titled the Multiverse Saga.
But Secret Wars is something of a surprise, in part because it could refer to four very different storylines. It’s pretty unlikely that the movie will integrate parts of Secret War from 2004 – 2005, a black-ops story involving Nick Fury and Shield. But the other three are all real candidates for adaptation, so let’s take a look at the storylines and what they offer.

Back in October of 2013, artist Francesco Francavilla and writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa forever changed the landscape of Archie Comics when they unleashed zombies in Riverdale in their highly popular horror comic series Afterlife with Archie.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer questions for us, Cullen, and congratulations on Parasomnia: The Dreaming God! When did you and Andrea Mutti originally decide to continue the story of Parasomnia with The Dreaming God?

I nearly missed this one on the schedules, which would have been a shame. This is one of those books that a few years ago would only have existed in the minds of two fanboys. We had a few years with some odd couple pairings, though do you (want to) remember them? Superman and Tarzan? Batman and Punisher? Predator and, er, Archie Andrews? Well, I do, I’ve still got the lot, for my sins. The appetite for these ran out a while ago, so to see such a great mash-up as this is good news indeed. To be fair to Freddie Williams, he’s usually sniffing around when there’s a good team-up to be had, he’s got a lot of Ninja Turtles, He-Man, and Thundercats in the rear mirror, so this book was a natural.
