This episode of The Black Sheep was Written, Narrated, and Edited by Lance Vlcek, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
I’ll always have a soft spot for the horror of the late ’90s. It wasn’t the best of the decade, but it does contain that silly and ambitious mix of dark edginess and psychological tension. Coming somewhat from the boom of the ’90s type of thriller, the religious horror resurgence came out of changing tastes. And though it didn’t all work out, there was a style and tone that I’ll always love. So what happens when an action superstar tries to grow while the genre around him changes into a different beast? You get the ridiculous but damn fun End of Days (watch it Here) on this episode of The Black Sheep.

Most of the current season of Inside Amy Schumer had wrapped filming when the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision was handed down and Roe v. Wade was overturned.
But, having already seen state laws banning abortions going into effect, Amy Schumer shared an idea for a bit with writer Christine Nangle (“I would say 75 percent of our best scenes ever came from her,” says Schumer). The result of their conversation is a parody ad, which appears in the first episode of the Paramount+ series, featuring Schumer urging people to visit the state of Colorado for its beautiful wilderness, bustling town centers — and legal access to reproductive services. The ad plugs abortion support organizations Brigid Alliance and the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, which have seen an uptick in donations and outreach support since the sketch’s release, per the streamer. This The Simpsons review contains spoilers.
The Simpsons Season 33 Episode 14
Spoiler alert: this The Simpsons season 33 episode 14, review is filled with clickbait. “You Won’t Believe What This Episode Is About – Act Three Will Shock You!” is more than an overlong title, it’s a very current and radical installment in the long-running series.
Okay, radical is going too far, but it is timely, progressive, and long overdue. Herstory is more than an amazing industrial vacuum rental slogan. After 33 years, this is the first episode where The Simpsons features an all-female creative team. It was written by Christine Nangle, directed by Jennifer Moeller, with layouts by Heejee Kim, and co-directed by Debbie Spafford. And Marge is not the only one to live out her wildest dreams. The creative team takes on every complaint leveled against their show, and sardonically skewers them with extreme subversion.
On the surface, the episode is commenting on cancel culture,...

“The Simpsons” will make history on Sunday, and coincidentally it’s happening during Women’s History Month. For the first time ever, after 33 seasons and 719 episodes (this Sunday is episode 720), the top four key creative roles that guide animation in a “Simpsons” episode are all women.
That includes director Jennifer Moeller, as well as assistant director Debbie Spafford, lead timer Esther Lee and background layout lead HeeJin Kim. Also, the episode (titled “You Won’t Believe What This Episode Is About — Act Three Will Shock You!”) has a “written by” credit for Christine Nangle.
Variety has the exclusive first look for the episode, which features guest star Kumail Nanjiani. In the episode, Homer is blamed for leaving Santa’s Little Helper locked in the family car on a hot day. It’s actually not Homer’s fault, but footage of the incident is posted on a neighborhood social media website...

Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons (Fox, 8/7c) includes one of the series’ most meta moments yet, bringing Yeardley Smith (aka the voice of Lisa Simpson) to Springfield… as herself!
Before your head explodes, allow us to explain: The episode, titled “Podcast News,” finds Grampa Simpson accused of a scandalous crime, which attracts the attention of Smith, who happens to produce and co-host a true crime podcast called “Small Town Dicks” in real life. (Deep breath. We’re done.)

It’s hard to make a late-night show stand out. For decades, late-night comedy has more or less stuck to the same formatted script – monologue, desk piece, interview, something extra, end of show — with hosts making incremental changes where they could squeeze them in. Just about every host was a straight white guy until very recently, as streaming and cable networks have made more room for the genre. Those new hires, however relatively few in the grand scheme of things, have started to shift the late-night landscape so that shows can, even ever so slightly, take some more experimental risks.
Netflix’s “The Break With Michelle Wolf, which premiered May 27 just days after Wolf’s White House Correspondents Dinner routine briefly broke Washington D.C., both works within the traditional bounds of late night shows and actively works to resist them. Six months into Donald Trump’s presidency, it’s hard to remember a time when the concept of the former “Apprentice” host becoming the Commander-in-Chief was a joke.
And yet for some time, it really was, thanks to decades of Trump’s standing as a pop culture icon, a notion he more than encouraged with frequent media appearances. The mogul was game for any joke as long as it didn’t imply that he wasn’t as rich or powerful as he said he was.

Donald Trump has made late-night TV great again, daypart writers came to TCA to discuss. Even so, they, like late-night show hosts, seemed squeamish celebrating, and insisted they take no particular joy in the banquet of material served up each morning, noon and night by the former reality-tv star. The President Show head writer Christine Nangle, for instance, said her typical first response to a Trump tweet is, "We're all going to die." "I don't want this job," Nangle…...

Perhaps you’ve heard: There’s been plenty of news out of Washington, D.C. lately.
Under ordinary circumstances, this would make the jobs of late-night comedy writers that much easier. But over the past year, these headlines are causing much more anxiety than laughs, even for the people whose job it is keep people entertained. A panel of late-night staffers spoke to the Television Critics Association on Saturday about the new challenges that have come with their job descriptions as things change in the White House.
“My first thought is always, ‘Were all going to die,’” said Christine Nangle, head writer for Comedy Central’s “The President Show. “Then you have to remember, is there anything for us to pull from?”
Even for shows that are only on once a week, there’s no rest for staff members who are keeping a closer eye on the news cycle than usual.

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

In an Inside Amy Schumer sketch that premiered this spring, Schumer takes up a controller to play her boyfriend's Call of Duty-esque game. But when she chooses a female avatar, she doesn't encounter enemy fire. Instead, her character is raped—and when she moves to try and convict her assailant, she is faced with bureaucracy and character assassination. It's a sketch in which the humor comes from how unfunny the situation actually is. EW talked with writer Christine Nangle about how this powerful sketch got on the air. During Amy Schumer's set at Carnegie Hall Friday night as part of the New York Comedy Festival, she joked about being labeled a sex comic. Her show is, after all, called Inside Amy Schumer. While sex is a large part of Schumer's comedic persona, however, her work is wide ranging—and her Comedy Central show has been labeled the "most feminist show on TV." So before she and her writers took the stage for a panel at the Paley Center for Media Saturday, EW asked Schumer what she would call the show if she were really describing it. "It...

"I'm not trying to shock people," says Amy Schumer. The 32-year-old's Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer, now in its second season, has become one of TV's funniest shows, thanks to brilliant sketches about a snack food for teenagers called Finger Blasters and a Call of Duty-style video game where a female player gets lost in red tape trying to report a sexual assault. We posed a few burning questions to Schumer, who's about to begin shooting a starring role in the next Judd Apatow film, which she also wrote.

Here are a few things we learned this week on the web: If you dress your kid in cute moccasins and your last name is Kardashian, you can offer “advice” to moms on the Internet; the guys of Insane Clown Posse are good sports, except when it comes to a dude kissing them; and Saturday Night Live‘s Christine Nangle wants to have your baby.
Aim High | This is a particularly bad day for Nick. He’s on the run from a Russian mercenary and the Mob, and his whole high school despises him because he spoiled the senior prank.

Broadway Video is a 32-year-old media production and distribution company owned by the creator of Saturday Night Live, the inspiration for Dr. Evil, and the comedy industry’s most powerful individual, Lorne Michaels. It’s responsible for such television and film programs as SNL, 30 Rock, Kids in the Hall, and MacGruber. It’s also responsible for a new original web series about an enterprising young lady with child-bearing hips and an outer borough Italian accent. I Wanna Have Your Baby stars and is scribed by SNL-writer and Upright Citizens Brigader Christine Nangle. The comedy revolves around the workplace of Nagle’s Dolores Santangeli, a charmingly upbeat surrogate mother with a charmingly less upbeat office assistant (played by fellow UCBer Gavin Speiller), a great smile, an even better attitude, and a constant stream of crazy clientele looking to rent some real estate in her womb. SNL cast members Vanessa Bayer...

Looking for a new webseries and/or surrogate mom with a disgustingly capable birth canal? Then look no further! (Also, it’s weird you came to us if you were looking for that second thing.) Take a few seconds out of your watching-other-stuff workday to check out I Wanna Have Your Baby, the comically fertile adventures of birthmom-for-hire Dolores Santangelli. It’s equal parts “funny-sketch” and “not-entirely-implausible future TLC show.” Here’s the first episode, in which Delores (Christine Nangle) talks to SNL’s Vanessa Bayer about her “quirky” husband: Two more episodes, Tim & Tyree and The Pharmacist (probably my fave!) are after the jump (via @PeteSchultz): Episode 2: Tim & Tyree Episode 3: The Pharmacist...

Jezebel posted a link to a sweatshirt being sold at JCPenney which has the phrase “I’m too pretty to do Homework, so my brother has to do it for me” scrawled across it scientifically idiotic handwriting. Quite the message to send to our little ones: Pretty little girls are too stupid to do their own homework. We thought there was no way JCPenney could top this negative stereotype, until we started digging around on their website. And you won’t believe what we saw. Bwe’s very own Einstein (no sarcasm intended) Pete Schultz came across these examples. Pete even points out another unfair nuance of the sweatshirt at right: “All the extra homework it’s creating for brothers.” Here Are Other JCPenney Shirts That Reinforce Gender Stereotypes. It is safe to say things are about to get much Photoshoppier worse. Bonus Shirt: Pretty much sums it all up...

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.

"I Love You Phillip Morris" came out of nowhere and secured a nod for the 2011 Writers Guild Awards. Based on the book by Steven McVicker, the film starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGRegor as prisoners in love received a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination.
"Phillip Morris" will be competing with awards-favorites "127 Hours" (screenplay by Danny Boyle & Simon Beaufoy), "The Social Network" (screenplay Aaron Sorkin), "The Town" (screenplay by Peter Craig and Ben Affleck & Aaron Stockard), and True Grit (screenplay by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen).
In the Original Screenplay category, critics-darlings "Black Swan" (screenplay by Mark Heyman and Andres Heinz and John McLaughlin), "The Fighter" (screenplay by Scott Silver and Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson), "Inception" (Christopher Nolan), and "The Kids Are All Right" (written by Lisa Cholodenko & Stuart Blumberg) will be competing with "Please Give" by Nicole Holofcener.
