The day The New York Times broke the Harvey Weinstein story, I found myself choking back bile all day.
In the weeks since, it has become resoundingly clear that Weinstein is a virulent serial predator, and has earned whatever hell rains down on him. But Harvey Weinstein isn’t the problem, and bringing him down — while satisfying, necessary, and just — will be far from sufficient if we don’t simultaneously tear down our rotten corporate culture and reckon with our own complicity in propping it up.
As democracy derives its consent from the governed, tyranny derives its consent from the tyrannized. And while it’s long overdue, I no longer consent to being tyrannized.
I wasn’t sexually harassed by Harvey Weinstein. I worked with him briefly, consulting on “sex, lies, and videotape,” the film that changed the independent film business, Sundance, and Harvey forever; the film whose prescient title...

In his first column in his new gig at Breitbart News, Jeffrey Lord compared Hillary Clinton to former Kkk Grand Wizard David Duke. Lord referenced an interview on CBS Sunday Morning in which Clinton said that Donald Trump appealed to millions of white working class Americans. Trump “was quite successful in referencing a nostalgia that would give hope, comfort, settle grievances, for millions of people who were upset about gains that were made by others,” Clinton said. “What you’re saying is millions of white people,” clarified CBS’ Jane Pauley. “Millions of white people, yeah,” Clinton said. Stephen Colbert shredded President Trump on The Late Show on Wednesday after the President offered tacit support for white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and Ku Klux Klan members during what Colbert described as a "Kamikaze press conference" in New York City earlier this week.
"There is only one thing I no longer have any doubt about," Colbert said, directly addressing the President. "You showed us who you were. Everywhere in this country, people were horrified. North, South, Republican, Democrat, top, bottom, sweet, sour."
The Late Show host repeatedly compared President Trump to Hitler.

President Donald Trump attacked fellow Republican, Sen. Lindsey Graham, early Thursday morning after the South Carolina senator criticized Trump’s response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend.
Graham denounced the president in a statement on Wednesday, according to CNN.
“Through his statements yesterday, President Trump took a step backward by again suggesting there is moral equivalency between the white supremacist neo-Nazis and Kkk members who attended the Charlottesville rally and people like Ms. Heyer,” Graham said, referring to Heather Heyer, who died after a driver rammed his car into a group of protesters demonstrating against the white nationalist rally.

The immediate backlash President Trump faced on Tuesday only intensified overnight after he doubled down on his assertion that “both sides” were to blame for deadly violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“There are two sides to a story,” Trump insisted on Tuesday, echoing the widely denounced comments he made Saturday, as the violence was unfolding in Virginia.
There were “a lot of bad people in the other group too,” he added in reference to the anti-racist protesters demonstrating against the rally, one of whom, 32-year-old Heather Heyer, was killed when a driver rammed his car into a group of the counter-protesters.

The Washington Post editorial board blasted President Trump for his comments about the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia in a powerful piece titled, “The nation can only weep.” Trump sent viewers into a tizzy during a Trump Tower press conference on Tuesday when he said “both sides” were responsible for the violence in Charlottesville. President Donald Trump shocked many Americans with his press conference on Tuesday.
Trump held a press conference which was intended to be about infrastructure, but quickly devolved into him accusing "both sides" of violence in the weekend's white nationalist demonstrations in Charlottesville, Virginia, where protesters -- many bearing flaming torches, weapons, and Nazi symbols -- marched to protest the town's removal of a statue of Confederate Army general Robert E. Lee.
Trump was initially criticized for taking two days to condemn white supremacists, and hate groups such as the Kkk, in his remarks about the protests, where one woman was killed and 20 were injured after a 20-year-old man drove his car into a crowd, in an act of domestic terrorism.

John Oliver began “Last Week Tonight” Sunday with a subject on the forefront of many people’s minds: The violent attack that occurred over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia. With a sober introduction and a warning of the disappointment to come, Oliver played footage of President Donald Trump’s response to the events, which he “squeezed into” a bill signing. Oliver zeroed in on the most troubling of Trump’s comments, which placed blame “On many sides,” and made no mention of white nationalism. “This was a White Nationalist rally, you have to call that out by name,” said Oliver.

Several recent controversies have engulfed YouTube of late, but those issues don't appear to have hurt the video site's bottom line -- at least not yet. In its Q1 2017 earnings report, Google and YouTube holding company Alphabet gave investors the all-clear, reporting revenue and earnings per share figures that slightly beat Wall Street expectations.

Over the weekend, YouTube implemented broader demonetization policies around content that could be perceived to be hateful or inflammatory following an international ad boycott that kicked off in the U.K. last month when marketers discovered that their content was running alongside extremist videos from the likes of David Duke.
At the same time that it announced that it was tightening its monetization leash with regard to videos that could potentially feature hate speech, however, YouTube assured creators in a company blog post that it would accelerate its appeals process for those who felt their videos had been unfairly monetized.

Either Captain America’s heroics have rubbed off on Chris Evans, or the actor’s just proving he was made for the role. Whatever the case, Evans has used his platform to criticize white supremacists and the current administration (which are, occasionally, two separate entities). The Infinity War star has spoken out against David Duke, who’s taken to calling himself a “European-American activist,” because he’s no longer the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. When Duke tried to shame Evans for having interracial relationships—going so far as to suggest that the actor “hates the women of his people so much,” whatever the fuck that means—the erstwhile Captain just reminded the former Klan member that hatred is Duke’s hood. We mean, bag.

Chris Evans covers the April 2017 issue of Esquire, and in his interview with the magazine, he touched on everything from family to politics to his Hollywood beginnings. Reflecting on his acting career, Chris said that he knew he wanted to act by the time he was in high school, and after doubling up on a few classes to graduate early, he quickly landed an agent and a part on a TV show. With a job in La lined up for that August, he'd walk into the high school during the springtime just to see his friends. "We'd go get high in the parking lot. I just f*cked off," he said. "I lost my virginity that year. 1999 was one of the best years of my life." Since then, Chris has had quite the Hollywood evolution, from Not Another Teen Movie to Captain America. Off screen, he's charmed fans and melted us into a puddle,...

Chris Evans has had enough of Donald Trump and his divisive ways.
The actor, best known for playing Captain America, has not shied away from getting political on social media, but in a recent interview with Esquire, he really opened up about his loathing of Trump and what the 45th president of the United States represents.
"I feel rage," the 35-year-old actor told Esquire. "I feel fury. It's unbelievable."

Captain America is taking on the K.K.K.
Chris Evans, 35, got into a Twitter spat with former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke on Thursday, after the star invoked Duke’s name while criticizing recently confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
After the controversial appointment was confirmed on Wednesday, Evans, a critic of the Trump administration, voiced his disapproval on social media by reminding his followers of Duke’s support of Sessions.

Chris Evans has been candid about his feelings toward our current president, and the sexy, newly-single Avenger continued to fight the good fight this week when he got into a Twitter row with none other than noted white supremacist, conspiracy theorist, Holocaust denier, and former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke. It all started when David tweeted that Donald Trump's recent cabinet appointments of fellow racists Jeff Sessions, David Bannon, and Michael Flynn are "the first steps in the project of taking America back." From there, Chris took off running toward the flames like the #wokebae superhero he is. If David Duke....David!...Duke!... thinks you're right, then you are unequivocally wrong. Jeff Sessions, the latest of Donald Trump’s absurd and destructive cabinet picks, has now been sworn in as the attorney general, leaving some people utterly horrified that a man who has been dogged by allegations of racism for years is now in charge of our legal system. One such person is actor Chris Evans, who succinctly pointed out a key problem with Sessions:

Chris Evans just took on a real-life villain: white nationalist and former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke. And just like the Captain America character he is best known for playing, Evans stood for what he believed was right.
The 35-year-old actor has not shied away from making his anti-Donald Trump political views known, and on Wednesday and Thursday, he got into a back-and-forth with Duke on Twitter over the recently confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions. (Duke has praised the confirmation.)

A&E may be reshaping its rollout of the new unscripted series “Generation Kkk” in light of early reaction it has seen about the show.
According to insiders, the network is mulling changing the show’s title, to perhaps something less flippant. “Generation Kkk” might sound like a shallow reality show about a bunch of young people hanging out in the Ku Klux Klan, but it’s actually a deep, sober, documentary-style look at families being torn apart by the hate group.
The show, which premieres Jan. 10, has been in production for a year and a half – but it was officially announced just this week. A&E kept “Generation Kkk” under wraps in order to produce the unscripted series without incident, but the timing of the announcement – with many uneasy about the country’s current transition of power – may be backfiring.

After more than a year and a half of development, A&E’s upcoming documentary series “Generation Kkk” has officially been announced. If that title has you thinking the show will be a historical look back at the white-supremacist group, remember that this is 2016 and try not to be surprised at the news that the show will follow the Ku Klux Klan in its current form. The New York Times first reported the news.

“We certainly didn’t want the show to be seen as a platform for the views of the Kkk,” A&E’s general manager, Rob Sharenow, told the Times. “The only political agenda is that we really do stand against hate.” Toward that end, the series will attempt to depict the lives of Klan members without lending credence to their racist views.

Donald Trump is rejecting the support of the Ku Klux Klan’s official newspaper — one of the few publications to support the controversial nominee.
The Crusader, the most prominent newspaper of the white supremacist group, expressed its approval of Trump on the front page of its latest issue. Trump’s campaign swiftly rejected the support and called the publication “repulsive,” CNN reports.
“Mr. Trump and the campaign denounces hate in any form. This publication is repulsive and their views do not represent the tens of millions of Americans who are uniting behind our campaign,” the campaign said in a statement to CNN.

Meanwhile, one of those supporters was in the stands literally slapping protesters. The generalization of Mexican-American immigrants.Trump started off his campaign on a controversial note. It has been a peculiar, yet unsurprising, phenomenon to watch the mainstream media simultaneously exploit Donald Trump's racism even as they downplay it during this presidential campaign, but even more peculiar has been the tendency of mainstream media liberals to gloss over 40 years of mainstream Republican racism in order to pose Trump as some sort of aberration. Case in point: Wednesday night's The Rachel Maddow Show, which featured an extended history lesson on the election campaigns of David Duke.
