If you’ve been following the set photos that have leaked from production, you’ll know that all the evidence is pointing towards Avengers 4 featuring flashbacks to various points in the McU’s past. That includes Nebula and Gamora’s childhood, a return for Peggy Carter, the events of 2015’s Ant-Man and a callback to 2012’s The Avengers.
Now, we have another clue that suggests some more time travel goodness is coming our way. Sebastian Stan – who, of course, plays Bucky Barnes Aka the Winter Soldier – shared the below image on his Instagram account. While not hugely revealing, it shows him pulling a face while sitting in Tony Stark’s hall of armor. Which doesn’t seem too out of sorts, until you remember that it was blown up back in Iron Man 3.

With the ink now drying on Disney‘s $52.4 billion merger with 21st Century Fox, much attention has been paid to the transfer of the X-Men and Fantastic Four rights and their future inclusion in a revamped Marvel Cinematic Universe. But that deal doesn’t just buy a load of superheroes, it’s given the studio the rights to many, many other movies franchises as well and now, Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that they’ll “look carefully” at their new IP lineup to work out what they can do with it.
Other than the Marvel stuff, probably the biggest coup for Disney is getting the full rights to James Cameron’s Avatar franchise. After all, they’ve already invested in Avatar for their World of Pandora theme parks and they’ll doubtless be eager for the upcoming sequels to smash the box office as widely open as the first one did.

If I had to pick a book to be the surprise package of the year, it could very well be this one. Fighting American as a book has always struggled, as creators have often fallen between two stalls. Originally intended as a parody of Captain America, by Cap’s own creators no less, some writers have double downed on the parody element and turned the book into a comedy. Other writers have then tried the polar opposite approach, to treat the character and source material as seriously as possible, and make Fighting American just another patriotic hero. This book has taken the road less travelled, the middle road, and so far it has worked out just fine. Great, even.
I won’t recap too much, that’s for commie stooges after all, but all...

This March, science and magic converge in a brand-new Iron Man story that bridges new talent and epic innovation with Iron Man: Hong Kong Heroes. Originally conceived around the opening of the Hong Kong Disneyland Iron Man Experience attraction, Marvel is bringing this exciting tale to the United States for the first time along with Hong Kong based talent, in a special one-shot by Howard Wong with art by Justice Wong.
The battleground is Stark Expo, and the focus is a new invention by the name of Stark Emergency Response Exosuit – otherwise known as the Sere-x. The sinister Baron Mordo and Armin Zola have teamed up to attempt to steal a magical artifact from Doctor Strange that merges technology and ancient dark magic. And it’s Iron Man’s job to keep the technology out of the hands of evil!
“Howard and Justice are an outstanding combo on this book!

Well, we knew that the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was doing rather well on YouTube as three out of five of those that were most viewed in 2017 belong to films distributed by Marvel Studios, but, every day, it seems like we get some kind of new inclination as to how highly anticipated this movie truly is. Maybe it’s the fact that this is what the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building to since Iron Man first arrived in 2008, or that so many superheroes will be united in one picture, but our best judgment says it’s a bit of both.
As it turns out, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have actually toppled the previous record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens (just under 100 million views) and, at the time of this writing, have tallied an impressive 100,018,171 views of their own – making Infinity War the most viewed trailer of all-time.

Only two weeks have passed since Marvel welcomed the arrival of the first Avengers: Infinity War teaser and already, Joe and Anthony Russo’s starry tentpole has racked up a staggering 100 million views on YouTube.
That number continues to climb at an exponential rate, so it’s small wonder why Infinity War now holds the title as the most-watched trailer debut of all time within 24 hours. But YouTube content creator and all-around video wizard Darth Blender has produced a decidedly different take on the Avengers: Infinity War trailer.
Much like Darth Blender’s videos for Justice League, Injustice II and Spider-Man: Homecoming, this latest sizzle reel (see below) gives Infinity War the retro treatment, and is edited in such a way that Reb Brown and Burt Reynolds take point as Iron Man and Captain America.

I know a lot of you are excited about Avengers: Infinity War, so while we wait for it to be released, which seems like a lifetime away, we have a great retro mashup trailer for you to watch! It comes from Darth Blender and it features a mashup of footage from several classic superhero films that were made in the 80s and 90s. I'm sure you'll remember some of these if you were up to speed with what Marvel was doing during this era. Below the video, you'll find a list of all the films that were used and all the characters that the actors are meant to play.
I love that Chuck Norris in The Punisher! It also features Burt Reynolds as Iron Man, David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Winter Soldier, Dennis Quaid as Star-Lord, Eddie Murphy as Falcon and more!

Marvel may have only released a single teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, but by drawing upon the McU’s continuity, fans have already formed their conclusions when it comes to Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sized epic.
And so, that has led to a number of ‘foolproof’ theories bouncing around the Internet – from Tony Stark’s ‘secret’ Infinity Stone to the Mad Titan and everything in between, there’s really no end to the Infinity War rabbit hole. Thankfully, though, there are at least a few things we can confirm, and one of them is that a number of the characters will be receiving new costumes.
From Spidey’s new suit to Iron Man’s upgraded armor, several of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be looking a bit different the next time we see them and thanks to the Avengers: Infinity War Lego set, we’ve now got another...

Hugh Jackman has heard about the potential Disney and Fox merger, and he sounds excited. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like he's so excited he's going to ask Fox to retcon his death so he can come back and fight as Wolverine alongside the Avengers, but there does seem to be some want to do that in his quote to Collider below:
“It’s interesting because for the whole 17 years I kept thinking that would be so great, like I would love to see, particularly, Iron Man and the Hulk and Wolverine together. And every time I saw an Avengers movie I could just see Wolverine in the middle of all of them like punching them all on the head. But it was like, 'Oh well, that’s not gonna happen,' and it was interesting just when I first saw that headline — it was just the possibility of it and...

It’s certainly been a year to remember if you’re a fan of The Punisher, now hasn’t it? In addition to winning over True Believers with the new Netflix series starring Jon Bernthal, Frank Castle has found yet another way to turn heads on the comic book side of things.
As you may recall, James Rhodes unfortunately met his end during the events of Civil War II. But, as it turns out, his War Machine armor didn’t go to waste because – get this – Castle picked up where Iron Man’s best buddy left off. That’s right, the deadliest mech suit around has fallen into the most dangerous hands possible.
Originally, I scoffed at this idea because I like seeing Castle as more of a stripped down vigilante who can easily exist outside of the Marvel Universe – and often has in his feature films. But when I really thought about it,...

By now, we’re all used to getting glimpses of stuff in upcoming blockbusters via merchandising. Licensed Lego sets are always a good bet for a couple of spoilers, as are action figures at trade shows and foreign market advertising material. None of which makes it any less amusing that we’re getting our first full body look at Thanos, the Mad Titan and scourge of Avengers: Infinity War via a novelty cup topper.
Though they’re understandably a bit cheap-looking, they also have a decent amount of detail to them. The set we have below encompasses Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Teenage Groot and Thanos. Obviously, we’re already pretty familiar with how the first three look in the McU, so there are no surprises there. However, the Teenage Groot and Thanos ones are worthy of some more examination.
Firstly, Thanos looks ready to wreck some poor superhero’s day.

If December is a relatively quiet month for Netflix, perhaps that’s because they want you to spend the holidays scaling the seemingly infinite mountain of content they’ve released this year. Good luck with that. But the streaming giant’s latest batch of new releases, however scarce, offer a wild variety of things to see. From an under-the-radar family drama that some critics believe is the best movie the year, to a demented Michael Shannon Christmas movie that some critics don’t even believe is a real thing, these are the seven best films coming to Netflix this December.

Infinity War looks extraordinarily ambitious based on the trailer alone, with a lot of characters and plot threads needing to be balanced against the realistic expectations pertaining to what can be accomplished in a single film. As the publicity machine begins to amp up for Infinity War, Marvel Studios personnel are beginning to talk in more open terms about both the film and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself. After all, with this May also marking the tenth anniversary of the original Iron Man film starring...

“There was an idea…to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to fight the battles we never could.”
That is, in a nutshell, the Avengers Initiative, Nick Fury’s larger-than-life masterplan that involved assembling Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It’s not without its flaws, of course; despite his best intentions, thrusting Cap and Iron Man together under the same roof seeded a full-blown Civil War, and the fallout of that historic event is still being felt across the four corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Let me begin with a quick clarification: the Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer spells trouble for all McU characters – from Iron Man to Spidey to the blonde Black Widow, no one can escape the gravity of Thanos – but there are those who believe Loki is about to meet his maker.
Ever since Marvel’s God of Mischief first graced planet Earth in the original Avengers movie, Loki has been the villain everyone loves to hate (“mewling quim!”), but there’s a new big bad in town, and he’s brought friends. We are, of course, referring to Thanos, the purple-skinned Mad Titan played by Josh Brolin (Deadpool 2). Hoping to bring balance back to the universe – your guess is as good as ours – Thanos hopes to round up all six Infinity Stones to achieve absolute power, which steers him in the direction of Asgard.

The world at large has been expecting to see some footage from the movie ever since a special presentation was played for the crowd at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con. I know that a lot of Marvel fans assume that we are going to see some of our favorite Marvel heroes die over the course of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. It's going to happen. The big question is... what characters in the McU are going to bite the dust, and what characters will live to fight another day after the epic grand finale?
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are in no way involved with what happens in the McU after Avengers 4. As of right now, finishing this overreaching story arc is the only thing that they are focused on. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Anthony Russo said that they are "not participating in any thought whatsoever about what happens after these movies".

After a brief sojurn down Avengers avenue, Warner Bors. and Tt Games return to the Lego Marvel universe with a sequel to the 2013 original that takes place in the same timeline… Sort of. You see this games villain is the time-travelling Kang the Conqueror, who is gathering an army of supervillains from across time and space to help him with his masterplan to take over the universe. Stealing entire cities from across time Kang brings everything together in Chronopolis, a nexus of realities that sees Egypt sat next to the Old West, Manhattan spanning both the present and 2099. A perfect excuse then to bring together superheroes from all eras of Marvel Comics – from old-school pre-Marvel Timely Comics characters to the superheroes of the future and Marvel’s 2099 series of comic books.

2017 has been an unequivocally weak year for animation. There wasn’t a new Laika movie, although strong Gkids titles like “The Breadwinner” helped fill the void. There wasn’t a new Studio Ghibli movie (although the forthcoming “Mary and the Witch’s Flower” is the next best thing). There were two offerings from Pixar, one of which was totally solid, and the other of which was “Cars 3.” By the summer, the situation was already so dire that something called “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” was considered a merciful reprieve from the endless trash parade of soulless corporate dreck like “Despicable Me 3” and “Smurfs: The Lost Village.”
And yet, amidst all of this darkness, there was a glimmering bright spot. And that bright spot… was something even darker. Black. “All important movies start with a black screen.” Those are the first words we hear in Chris McKay’s “The Lego Batman Movie,...

Naturally, Marvel's mightiest heroes are there to stop him.

The Justice League poster you see above is an actual poster that is being displayed at movie theaters in China! This is not an official Warner Bros. poster, but it's not stopping China from displaying it. According to Cb:
It appeared in several Chinese theaters and on video hosting site iQiyi as the ticketing app for Wanda Cinema, China's biggest theatrical chain.
That's pretty damn funny! As you can see it features the team of DC heroes murdering Marvel heroes. You've got Deadpool impaled on Aquaman's trident, Batman holding Thor's head in his hand, Iron Man torn apart, Wolverine being skewered by Wonder Woman with her sword, The Flash is stepping on the head of Captain America's lifeless body, and Superman has blood on his hands.
I know it's China, but it's still crazy that they are actually using this poster to market the film! It's pretty damn aggressive.

In fight between Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator, Machete, Wolverine, and others I think, as a fan, that I’d have to set things straight just a bit. The Terminator is awesome, despite what’s happened since T2, and the unstoppable machine that created a franchise is one of the greatest movie creations ever. But it does have limits as we’ve seen and massive damage, on the critical level, is among them. It’s amusing that whoever did this wouldn’t pit him against the Hulk, Vision, Iron Man, or any seriously heavy hitters, even Cyborg, that could really mess him up on an epic scale.

Well that looks alright there. I think my main draw is the designs seem to combine the comic and movie looks. I'm hoping that there's a costume selection cause I'll admit I like some movie designs over comic ones and vice versa. Now there's not a lot of info for the release but we're looking to change that. Official synopsis reads as follows.
"Coming in 2018, Marvel Strike Force tasks players to recruit squads of Marvel’s greatest Super Heroes and Super Villains to battle it out on mobile devices. Marvel Strike Force is the first title from FoxNext Games’ new mobile game studio in Los Angeles, comprised of former members of mobile entertainment company Kabam.

MaryAnn’s quick take… The cinematic equivalent of Trump and Brexit as awfulness brought upon ourselves. Incoherent and cheap-looking. There are no heroes, and everything is broken. I’m “biast” (pro): loved Wonder Woman, liked Man of Steel…
I’m “biast” (con): …but not a fan of the other Dceu movies
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
These are the times that try woman’s soul. Trump. Brexit. Harvey Weinstein. Al Franken. (Really? Damn.) Global warming. Syria. Everything is awful. Everything is broken. Blake Shelton is People’s Sexiest Man alive? Christ, someone make it stop.
So it’s actually rather brilliant of Warner Bros and DC to fully embrace the everything-is-shit zeitgeist with a movie that just throws up its hands and agrees that the world and those in charge of it are garbage. Justice League is almost a meta exegesis of reality in...

Justice League is a “step in the right direction” in that instead of tumbling down an upwards-climbing escalator on an endless loop, DC has now managed to brace itself on a bottom step, clutching the handrail in a dizzied, confused daze. Patty Jenkins blazed a trail for franchise improvement with Wonder Woman, but this Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon double-team steps right back into the Dceu’s own mismanaged stink.
Forced “humor” clashes with Snyder’s brand of glib intensity, action sequences rage with no captivation, backstory establishment gets tossed aside – but yes, it’s far more “fun” than Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. For whatever that’s worth? Marvel cultivated their rivaling luminescent, “bright side” universe through patience and genuine charisma – DC just wants to bottle the same magic, hellbent on replicating an existing formula without understanding.

With DC Entertainment’s “Justice League” opening Friday, we have a rare confluence: two films, each from rival comic-book universes, opening within two weeks of each other. For the first time since “The Green Lantern” debuted two weeks after “X-Men: First Class” in June 2011, two heavyweights will compete directly.
These films’ comic-book sources have fervent and vocal fan bases. Arguing the relative value of each is impossible (and inadvisable), but it is possible to look over their respective box-office histories and assess their relative popularity.
Since DC Comics presented “Superman” in 1997, there have been a combined 77 theatrical released films from DC and rival Marvel. We’ve taken their grosses (adjusted to 2017 ticket prices) and compared their box-office performance.
Spoiler alert: There’s a lot more Marvel movies than DC movies, and they made a lot more money. Marvel has produced 48 movies, which grossed $11.8 billion in North America. (All numbers adjusted.

After six years of boldly charting its own course into the great unknown, the DC Extended Universe is finally cutting its losses and rerouting to a more well-traveled path. Hardcore fans may not agree with the decision or like what it entails, but there’s no denying that “Justice League” borrows a page or two from the (wildly popular) Marvel playbook. Maybe even three or four. Actually, if we’re being completely honest, it lifts entire chapters wholesale from one cinematic saga to another.
And not a minute too soon. At this point, playing things safe may have been the only way to right the ship and convince audiences to continue investing in these characters. “Justice League” was always going to be the Dceu equivalent of “The Avengers,” but the extent to which Zack Snyder’s latest opus cribs from the competition in order to sell us on its heroes is still pretty surprising.

Zack Snyder’s painfully titled “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” had all the worst attributes of modern-day superhero storytelling: unearned gravitas, a bloated running time, and interchangeable CGI-stuffed battles. “Justice League” offers a tepid mea culpa, attempting to liven the material (with a third-act assist from Joss Whedon, who finished the movie when Snyder stepped away for tragic personal reasons).
Taking more than one page from Marvel’s first “Avengers” installment, “Justice League” rounds up the current spate of active D.C. franchise superheroes, and the resulting 119-minute pileup of showdowns and one-liners is an undeniably tighter, more engaging experience. It’s also a tired, conventional attempt to play by the rules, with “hold for laughs” moments shoehorned between rapid-fire action — a begrudging concession that the Marvel formula works, and a shameless attempt to replicate it.
Although “Batman v Superman” combined equally bland dramas about two of the most...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has an awful lot going for it, but one thing it’s notably lacking is female-led superhero movies. Sure, we’ve got Captain Marvel due in 2019, but that’ll make it an astonishing eleven years of Marvel Studios’ films that have had male protagonists.
What’s worse is that they’ve got Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow right there, practically begging for a solo outing. Adrianne Palicki clearly agrees, too, and desperately wants to get her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character Mockingbird involved.
In fact, the subject came up during a recent Reddit Ama, when Palicki was asked whether she’d consider teaming up with Johansson’s Black Widow. Her response was, to say the least, enthusiastic:
“I would Love to get to kick ass next to Black Widow! Bad-ass chics unite!! Waiting for the call!”
Sadly, I think Palicki is going to be waiting a while.

On the back of the recent report that Disney was interested in buying the entertainment divisions of 20th Century Fox, superhero fans went wild as they thought of the implications. Not only could it allow for a DVD release of the original cut of Star Wars: A New Hope, but it could also pave the way for the X-Men – whose rights are owned by Fox – to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is part of the Disney family.
Though a second report claimed that these talks are not moving forward at the moment, that hasn’t stopped people from imagining what an X-Men-filled McU would be like. Jessica Chastain discusses her reservations over Bryan Singer, while explaining how Simon Kinberg made X-Men: Dark Phoenix intriguing.
Jessica Chastain continues to be one of the best actors on the planet, with an unerring eye for choosing a good script. She's also used her profile and social media presence to call people out over their behaviour, in recent times in particular those who have been abusing their power and authority. Sadly, there's been no shortage of people doing that.
Amongst those, she drew attention to allegations about director Bryan Singer. The man who happens to be producing her next movie, X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Chastain addressed this during an interview with The Daily Beast. In a conversation focused on the actor’s latest awards contender, the kinetic Molly’s Game, Chastain discussed what attracted her to enter the realm of superheroes via X-Men: Dark Phoenix despite critiquing Singer via Twitter.

In a surprising announcement, long time Marvel Comics writer Brian Michael Bendis is leaving Marvel Comics behind him as he exclusively signs up with DC Comics.

A new piece of promo art has surfaced for Avengers: Infinity War and it offers us a new look at a few of our favorite heroes sporting their new costumes. Some of those characters include Iron Man, Star-Lord, Captain America, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Black Widow.
We've seen most of their costumes teased before in the first promo art released at Comic-Con earlier this year. This new art gives us a fuller look at some of the costumes and even offers us our first look at Black Widow's new outfit, which wasn't shown in the previous poster.
As you can see, Black Widow is sporting a black and green suit this time around, and she's got Blonde hair. Steve Rogers has his sleeves rolled up, and Spider-Man is wearing the Iron-Spider armor that Tony Stark gave revealed at the end of Homecoming.
