We’re talking about his cult crime drama, Damini. We feel that Damini 2 is highly possible, and even the script is ready if someone decides to remake Mohanlal’s recent court drama.
For those who don’t know, Damini was released in 1993 and was a huge success at the Indian box office. Apart from commercial success, the film also tasted solid critical success, and over the years, it became a cult classic. The craze of its dialogues and scenes is still there,...

Is it time to officially anoint Nicole Kidman as the queen of prestige television officially? Because she’s exactly that, and kudos to her and her agents for reading the tea leaves on the shifting industry ages ago. In the first post, Perry’s hand rested under a light as tattoo artist Liz Kim etched the ink onto her finger, reports People magazine.

Roar Social, a platform at the crossroads of social media and philanthropy, launches its app today in beta after three years of development and with the industry in turmoil. Tweets are out. Roars are coming.
This is another video-sharing app but, layered on top, it’s a tool hoping to nudge Gen Z and young Millennials (16-36 core) to assert their values and channel viral content and engagement to a larger social purpose.
Specifically: users signing up pick one of a dozen “hero” causes from climate change to mental health to animal rights. Each of their posts is tagged with the matching icon, meaning all videos on the site — original content as well as repurposed work from TikTok, YouTube and Facebook Reels welcome — are attached to a cause. There’s no ‘like’ option. Instead, tapping a small cartoon pig automatically donates a penny to the cause through the platform’s proprietary Roar Giving Wallet technology.

Loving books by and about women has created an extraordinary career for producer Bruna Papandrea, one that includes “Wild,” “Gone Girl,” the Emmy-winning “Big Little Lies,” “The Nightingale,” “The Dry,” “The Undoing,” and “Roar.” Her production company, Made Up Stories, just opened a UK outpost run by Sarah Harvey, which joins offices in Los Angeles and Sydney, in her native Australia.
What none of those offices have, she told IndieWire, are book scouts. Had she used scouts, she said, “I probably would’ve missed ‘Wild’ because [the report] would’ve said, ‘a woman hikes 1,200 miles after the death of the mother’ and I don’t think I would’ve read it.”
Papandrea’s latest production is the long-gestating “Luckiest Girl Alive,” the Netflix adaptation of Jessica Knoll’s bestselling novel of the same name. It stars Mila Kunis as the eponymous “girl,” now the adult survivor of a high school shooting who...

Shaun Cassidy is stepping into the ranch family drama game with “Unbroken,” a drama pilot ordered by NBC. The show, which hails from Universal Television and Shaun Cassidy Productions, centers on three dynastic ranch families on the central coast of California, who make love and war in a passionate struggle to survive. Ultimately, this sets the stage for a group of fiercely determined young women to win big for all at the National Championship of Rodeo.
Cassidy will write and executive produce the pilot episode. If the series gets fully picked up by NBC, it will join a modern resurgence of westerns on TV — “Yellowstone” and “1883” on Paramount Network, “Walker” on the CW and western-adjacent shows like “The Mandalorian” on Disney Plus, “Westworld” on HBO Max, plus new Latinx vineyard family series “Promised Land” on ABC.
Cassidy, a singer, actor, writer and producer, is no stranger to the television landscape on-screen or behind-the-scenes.

The other family-imperiled-by-rampaging-beasts movie this weekend, “Endangered Species” is different from “A Quiet Place Part II” in many ways, particularly in that its characters cannot stop yakking — with corresponding diminished viewer concern for their survival under extreme duress. Mj Bassett’s South African-produced thriller has a vacationing American clan doing all the wrong things in a Kenyan wildlife preserve. Needless to say, the local fauna quickly notice there are some fresh snacks on the savanna, to our protagonists’ grief.
The squabbling human dynamics make this outdoor suspense exercise one in which too soon we start rooting for the four-legged cast members. Slick and scenic but increasingly silly, by the end it has become perhaps the most preachily wrong-headed wildlife conservation adventure since the notorious “Roar” 40 years ago. Lionsgate is releasing to digital, VOD and limited theaters, with Blu-ray and DVD following on June 1.

Exclusive: Lucy Freyer has joined the cast of Brit McAdams’ Paint, starring Owen Wilson, Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus and Stephen Root.
The comedic feature centers on Carl Nargle (Wilson), who has hosted Vermont’s #1 painting show for nearly three decades. While Carl’s signature whisper has long kept viewers from Pittsfield to St. Albans breathlessly hanging on his every stroke, the station eventually hires a younger, better painter who steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.
In the film, which is currently in production, Freyer plays the eager and impressionable Jenna, an employee at Carl’s studio who is also his latest girlfriend. Like the women before her, she’s captivated by Carl’s gentle charm, but is starting to realize that she’s doing things she doesn’t believe in just to gain his affection.
McAdams wrote the script for Paint, which made The Black List.
