Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump have a longstanding friendship despite their parents’ bitter political rivalry in the 2016 presidential election. But a new tweet sent by the former first daughter about the current first daughter have many calling “shade.”
It all started with The New York Times, which on Monday published a report about a 2015 email exchange between President Donald Trump‘s business associate Felix Sater and lawyer Michael Cohen that claimed Sater had made arrangements for Ivanka’s 2006 trip to Russia.
The trip, Sater alleges in his email, included a private stop at Vladimir Putin’s private office where he...

Welcome to the Madness, Julia Louis-Dreyfus!

A few videos and photos have been posted online from the set of Stephen King’s It and they feature a couple of key creepy looking scenes.
For those of you who have read the book, you’ll recognize that the scene takes place on 29 Neibolt Street. In the story, the Losers Club find themselves on the street at an old, creepy, rundown, abandoned house. That house is featured in one of the videos, and it looks great! It shows Bill and the rest of the Losers Club hanging out in front of the house before they walk up to the door.
The second video features The Leper, who is one of the malevolent forms that the monster takes in the film. We see him confronting a young Eddie Kaspbrak.

For a while there, it didn't seem like the new adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel, It, was ever going to get made. Director Cary Fukunaga left the project due to creative differences, and I was convinced it was going to lose any and all momentum at that moment. Instead, Mama director Andy Muschietti stepped up to the plate, along with actor Bill Skarsgård, who is donning the clown outfit for Pennywise, and now production is fully underway.
Since they've begun shooting, we've been privy to all sorts of photos (such as the one of Pennywise above) and little viral marketing teases. Like it or not, this film is happening, and it's happening fast, and we now have some new set videos to prove it.

The question is what, exactly, this spoils. For a vocal contingent of Game of Thrones' viewership, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch resurrection by the sorceress Melisandre, as seen on last night's episode, taints the whole damn thing. To some it's a cheap dodge of the life-and-death consequences that have made the show one of TV's most unpredictable pop-cultural phenomenons. And to faithful book-readers, the 11th-hour resurrection takes the wind right out of author George R.R. Martin’s sails, showing us something that...

The earliest Joel McCrea appearance in the “Acteurism” series features roughly fifteen minutes of screen time for the up-and-coming actor. It would be released the same year as his pivotal appearance in The Most Dangerous Game, but McCrea’s physical hesitancy and manner of speech make him appear a good ten years younger. He’d been underbilled by the enormously popular Will Rogers, appearing as a mere “with” in the poster and opening credits (though appearing above the equally huge character actor Boris Karloff, just one year after his role as Frankenstein’s monster). His role in Business and Pleasure (1932) accordingly consists of reacting to Fox Studio’s head comedic talent, a kind of “working actor” job that he’d keep accepting even at the height of his fame. Rko had experimented with McCrea as a leading man with a seven-reel Lloyd Bacon romantic drama Kept Husbands (1931), but he seemed more comfortable playing his handsome,...

If you’ve paid attention to my urgent, poetic recaps of American Idol, you know we’ve arrived at my favorite time of year: the live(-ish) semifinal where a couple dozen singers with edgy haircuts and/or edgy midriff-baring tops (or both, if you’re edgy-edgy Marrialle Sellars) beg you to dial things on their behalf. It’s the esteemed Top 30 round — or as I’ve long called it, The “How Can This Be The Best Of The Best When Everybody Was Forgettable, Nervous, and Named Something Stupid?” Round. My favorite.
But I didn’t count such a stupid gimmick creeping its way into the festivities. Though 15 women qualified to perform on Tuesday’s show, only 10 would be allowed on air thanks to a mysterious prescreening round where Harry Connick Jr, Jennifer Lopez, and Paul McCartney Disguised As Sheryl Crow In The “Soak Up the Sun” Video (a.k.

Everyone knows the name Nicolas Cage, right?
It's one of those household few — like Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman and Sandra Bullock, for example — who even your 94-year-old great-grandma would recognize and has probably even seen in a movie or two. Better yet, chances are she could even spout off some errant knowledge about his off-camera life to boot, since some of the dude's private woes have become very public information.
But to hear Nicolas Cage talk, people, we've just got the guy all wrong, and he's ready to "Face/Off" with all the rumors once and for all.
Cage has now detailed the many, many public misgivings about him in a new interview with The Guardian, and as it turns out, we know nothing. Nothing. Brace for imminent mind-blowage as we break down the five biggest things we've gotten wrong about Nic Cage ... according to Nic Cage.

During episode 3 of Jimmy Kimmel's "The Baby Bachelor," one of the last girls standing makes a shocking confession over a romantic Lunchables dinner. Gabrielle tells Wesley that she has a baby ... doll. Our boy is skeptical at first, but points out that this is not unusual for a preschooler when he brings out his own stuffed friend: Monkey. After mulling it for a while, however, Wesley tells his uncle Jimmy he isn't ready for kids. So what happens? We'll have to wait until next week to find out!

Here is the first trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium. The movie that I haven’t heard too much about is set in 2159, and two classes of people are divided: the wealthy live on a man-made space station called Elysium, while the rest of the humans inhabit an overpopulated and ruined Earth. Our boy Matt Damon plays a man who must reach Elysium in order to find a cure that will save his life.
Reaction from very early footage that was shown at last year’s Comic-Con was well received; that’s a good sign for the polished final product which by the looks of this trailer is going to be awesome. The action isn’t being ruined by a camera that can’t stop shaking, a rare treat these days. Visually, this looks amazing.
The film also stars Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Wagner Moura, and William Fichtner.

Justin Bieber's pet hamster has died.
Beliebers everywhere are mourning the loss of Pac, the hamster that Bieber gave to screaming fan Tori McLure, at the Atlanta Jingle Ball show last December -- simply telling her, "You gotta take care of him."
"They say Pac probably won't make it much longer. He's like an old man. My feelings couldn't be more hurt ):," McLure tweeted on Tuesday night, adding, "But they also said 'on the bright side he got to live a healthy lavish life of a popstar, not many hamsters coulda been the Biebs' #feelings."

Our boy Dic Hertz has come through with another awesome review. This time we get to read Mr Hertz’ thoughts on Snitch!
Review: For such a powerful story, its so-so portrayal later this year easily categorizes Snitch a forgotten-February-film! Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Hollywood career continues to steer in a positive direction. I mean, this guy is in six features this year! Four of which will play consecutively between now and May, and another two later in the year – it’s a nonstop game for Hercules! I’ve always enjoyed watching him. As a fan of WWE, I recall his debut, his growth, and last but not least…his mark! However, as physically appealing and charismatic as this guy may be in a WWE promo, ring, commercial, or kicking someone’s ass in a film…like most of humanity…this guy has his limits. I’ve said it several...

I had a ball with a 10 Greatest Best Actress Victories list, and now it's time to reveal my dark side: Here are my five least favorite wins for Best Actress, and you'll notice they're all pretty fabulous actresses doing subpar work in subpar fare. Maybe I'm just mad at them for getting rewarded for the wrong work. Maybe I'm contrarian. T'any rate, here are the five offenders:
5. Jodie Foster, The Accused
This is not my way of damning Jodie for that cryptic, near-Dada speech she gave at the Golden Globes. This is my way of acknowledging that The Accused is unimportant Oscar bait full of teary monologues that just don't work. Jodie Foster is a commanding actress, and I consider her work in The Silence of the Lambs one of the most justified wins of the '90s. (Love the '91 Oscars so, so much. Thelma, Louise, Rambling Rose, Mercedes Ruehl,...

Yes, the title of this recap is in extremely poor taste. But what am I supposed to do when one of the first images is this?
What was I saying? Oh, right, uh recap.
Previously on Arrow our favorite sociopath got his ass kicked all over the block by Merlyn.
No, not this Merlin (though that would have been cool!)
This Merlyn.
Oliver has been rehabilitating his magnificent bod for six weeks now. We in the viewing audience all greatly appreciate him managing his assets so carefully. And we appreciate even more that he does so shirtless.
He's having a little trouble dealing with the fact that he got beat so badly. Basically, he's sulking. Digg shows up and tries to nudge him into getting back into the vigilante game and Oliver evades.
Digg picks up the List of Doom and holds it up to Oliver like a guy trying...

A son and mom road comedy definitely sounds good on paper, but I can’t say I agree with the casting choices here. Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand have each done their share of great movies, but according to the very unfunny trailer, maybe working together with a balls script wasn’t the best idea. It’s going to make a lot of money this holiday season, family y’all.

Castle has booked another Firefly reunion. TVLine reports that Gina Torres will appear as a mogul-slash-reality-tv-star. In hindsight, I'm disappointed no one asked Torres to play a mogul-slash-reality-tv-star earlier.
Time is running out for How I Met Your Mother. Series creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays have asked that CBS decide by the end of 2012 if the comedy will end this season or next. CBS is in the process of negotiating for another season and it's probably not ready to lose a hit show after a disappointing fall. Still, that might not be enough to convince the cast to put off bigger and better projects.
Why would you make a line of Downton Abbey t-shirts and use only one quip from the Dowager Countess? As Jezebel says, "Hideous."

“This may be the best episode of The Voice we’ve ever had,” Blake Shelton said tonight, in that homespun drawl of his that never seems anything less than genuine. And try as I might, I’m not sure I can find a way to disagree with him.
Sure, I could poke fun at the show’s enthusiastic-to-the-point-of-frenzied audience. (Is everyone in the studio required to pound a can of Red Bull, or maybe Red! While it might appear that director Jonathan Demme has retreated from the mainstream in recent years, directing a string of documentaries including “Jimmy Carter Man From Plains” and a trio of Neil Young concert films, the director says he’s just been following the projects he finds himself drawn to. “It all depends on what I’m enthusiastic about at the moment, what presents itself,” Demme told The Playlist in an exclusive interview this week. “I love doing fiction. I love doing performance films and I love doing documentaries that don’t have music. I love to shoot and I love to shoot things I’m enthusiastic about.”
And lately, Demme has been enthusiastic about Neil Young. Their latest collaboration is entitled “Neil Young Journeys,” in which Demme tags along on a road trip with Young in his 1956 Crown Victoria en route to a performance at Toronto’s iconic Massey Hall.

A new Mexican star will be born tonight when Mexican actor Diego Boneta makes his feature film debut as rocker Drew Boley in the highly anticipated movie-musical "Rock of Ages."

When we have an episode of "The Vampire Diaries" that's particularly heavy on exposition, like last week's was, it's generally followed by a high-action, fast-paced episode, like this week's.
The trouble is, I'm tempted to say that "Homecoming" had too much action.
The rapid twists and turns coupled with nonlinear storytelling left us without much emotional resonance in scenes that should have been heartbreaking.
I'm going to warn you all ahead of time... I didn't like this episode. This recap is much more critical than fun, so if that's not your thing, feel free to click away! As usual, every single sentence in here is based on my own opinion and my own viewing experience. If your opinions differ, that's awesome, and I'd love to hear all about your thoughts in the comments section.
Last fall we saw "Masquerade," where our heroes worked together and came off looking like pros.

Joining Adam on this life-or-death journey is his best pal (Seth Rogen), his girlfriend (Bryce Dallas Howard), an overprotective mom (Angelica Huston) and an extremely neurotic young therapist played by the ever-delightful Anna Kendrick.
Check out the clips below to see why getting "the C-word" can sometimes be as funny as hell.
1. Blanket. You can always count on Angelica Huston to bring that glum, overbearing mother spirit. Paging Morticia Addams ...
2. Conversation. Seth Rogen attempts to calm his friend down by acting as distraught as humanly possible.
3. This former race dog's name is Skeletor ... "By the power of greyhounds!"
4. Doogie. Anna Kendrick isn't going to win any points with the Nph fans out there.
5. Haircut. Our boy goes to town on that mop with Rogen's "body" trimmer.
6. Clean Car. As...

Okay, "Vampire Diaries" fans. We've had the whole weekend to recover from that emotional ripper of a season premiere. Is everyone okay? We're here if you need support. You don't have to go it alone.
Seriously. Our first prolonged glimpse at Stefan's (Paul Wesley) inner demons was unsettling, to say the very least. Not only has he fully given in to his blood addictions, but perhaps the most jarring scene was when he killed Damon's girlfriend Andie right in front of him, because that had nothing to do with his bloodlust. He didn't even feed on her. He just used her in his twisted game.
In this Thursday's episode, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Stefan will come upon Ray's wolfpack -- and Klaus will do his best to turn the entire pack into hybrids. Unfortunately, thanks to a tip from Tyler, Elena and Damon are hot on their trail.

Did you know that Daniel Radcliffe had a drinking problem? This comes as news to a lot of people, because his excessive boozing was kept as a well-guarded secret. That’s just bad news, isn’t it? That’s how celebrities — specifically the younger ones — start sliding down fame’s very slippery slope and end up burning out. Luckily, DanRad seems to have a solid head on his shoulders and controlled what could have spiraled into quite a nasty addiction.
Daniel’s now a teetotaler who prefers nights in as opposed to nights out. And he’s spending them with a girlfriend, explaining, “I’m actually enjoying the fact I can have a relationship with my girlfriend where I’m really pleasant and I’m not f—ing up totally all the time!” He hasn’t specified who “she” is, but we’re guessing it’s one Olive Uniacke. If so,...

Sometimes it pays to get up early and check in with the twitter. Our boy Arrow over at Joblo has found the trailer for John Pogue's Quarantine 2: Terminal. Did you know it was even finished filming? Cause I didn't.
Synopsis:
Quarantine 2: Terminal picks up later that night at Lax, as passengers board a flight to Nashville. When a passenger becomes violently ill with a mysterious rabies-like virus, the plane makes an emergency landing at a large metropolitan airport. Jenny, a heroic yet inexperienced flight attendant, takes charge of the safety of her passengers. Relieved when a swarm of heavily equipped emergency vehicles, police units and the Cdc arrive, Jenny and the passengers soon discover that they have been quarantined and are now trapped. Desperate to escape, Jenny enlists the help of one of the surviving passengers, a kindergarten teacher, Henry, to devise a plan to survive.

Brothers & Sisters kicked off the 2011 prime time TV calendar last night, resuming its fifth season in typically decent, slightly up-and-down fashion with "Scandalized."
First, the inevitable. Kitty’s relationship with Seth goes public. The Huffington Post is even running with it. Apparently our fair Kitty is Prime celebrity gossip fodder.
Seth’s mom and Kitty’s boss, Dean Whitley, now knows "Cougar Walker-McCallister" is her son's girlfriend. Really, that's the best they could do? Eh, it's accurate at least ...
Oddly enough, the dean publicly supports Kitty's relationship with Seth ... but privately, questions Kitty's motives, because She can do better. Didn't see that one coming.
Seth, played by ABC staple Ryan Devlin, has been working on his Masters for years and writing a novel for just as long. He eats Pb&Js. He may not be what she's after.
Or maybe he is. Reading one of Seth’s short stories which...

It’s finally time to see which films, TV and other players also wowed the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the 68th Annual Golden Globes Awards, which will be held Sunday, January 16, 2011. The usual suspects dominated the 2011 Golden Globe nominations Tuesday morning, at least on the TV side of things, whereas the film selections held a few surprises. Glee and Mad Men took the bulk of the TV nominations, which, let’s just say we knew they would. I was really happy to see love thrown to Scott Caan and Hawaii 5-0. I was sort of disappointed a show like Sgu always gets left out because they have some fine acting in Robert Carlyle and Louis Ferriera on that show. Also, I was disappointed that Tim Roth was snubbed for his role on Lie to Me, which is always top notch.

The Saddest Gay Week Ever
Around the AfterElton.com offices we frequently refer to the "AfterElton community," but the reality of how much the site has grown to become an actual community truly hit home this week when we learned that Logan, one of our longtime members, had tragically been killed in a car accident.
We only learned that Logan had died two weeks ago when his friend Emi joined the site to post the awful news. She said she had done so because Logan (known as Fergie to his offline friends) had frequently spoken of those he'd met on AfterElton and how much the friends he'd met here had meant to him.
I can honestly say I was blown away hearing this. A gay guy living in the highlands of Scotland spoke fondly and frequently enough of the site that his straight friend thought to come here and tell us the news?...

When all is said and done, history will not look back fondly at the second season of Jersey Shore. The lovable group of scamps that we were first introduced to last year as they summered on the beaches of Sleazeside Heights, blissfully unaware of the mega-celebrities that they would become, are gone. Yes, their corporeal forms remain the same, but their personalities have shifted in significant ways since the halcyon days of Summer 2009 when the show’s first season has taped. And really, that’s what drew people into the show in the first place, the outgoing and unique personalities of the show’s main core of characters: The Situation, DJ Pauly D, Snooki and, to a lesser extent, the rest of them. While we don’t blame MTV for getting the band back together again in February of 2010 to begin filming the M.I.A. season — gotta strike while the iron is hot!

The last time we saw Michael Weston (Jeffrey Donovan), he was being led through a dark, dank hallway with a bag over his head. Uh oh. Our boy is going to be tortured! Or worst, thrown into a dark hole and left for all of eternity! As it turns out, not so much. Michael’s “cell” wasn’t all that uncomfortable, actually, so what the hell is going on? Check out how Season 4 begins (hint: it takes place exactly after the Season 3 finale) with two sneak peek clips and two promos that show Michael already back in the swing of things and blowing stuff up with badass girlfriend Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) and trustworthy sidekick Sam (Bruce Campbell). “Burn Notice” Season 4 begins next week on June 3 on the USA Network with the episode “Friends and Enemies”.

Looks good to me! w00f!
Summer is here, and just like regular folks, the celebrities we follow like to have some down time to enjoy the warm weather. We've got the scoop on their fun. Plus, we have a quick look at how some reacted to the Hot 100 list.
Up at the top of the page you can see out musician Aiden James shopping for a summer wardrobe. I'm on record as not being a fan of deep scoop neck shirts, but in his case I'm willing to make an exception. No, Aiden, it's not too much at all - unless you're willing to forgo the shirt completely.
If you're a musician, do you spend your off hours with music? Isn't that like taking your work home with you? Not for Tetu coverboy Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters. He seems to be a fan of LCD Soundsystem.

Coming to the Tampa Bay market on April 9th is the Oscar nominated flick A Prophet. Toward the end of the award season, Prophet came out of nowhere as many critic associations heralded this as the new front-runner for best foreign film. It was being compared to classics like Scareface. The French film eventually lost, but enough buzz has been conjured up for a U.S. release schedule. In Tampa Bay, one can find this at CineBistro in Hyde Park and Muvico Baywalk. The Ncm locater can help one locate other locations below.
As with many of these foreign flicks, certain critic associations get the screener earlier than others. Since there has been plenty of reviews already put out there, here is a nice short-and-sweet one for a change. Which may be a challenge, since this flick is 155 minutes long.

Another full casting couch again this week. So much casting news to report ranging from 3 British dudes to Alicia Silverstone actually getting a role.
First up, Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Warner Bros. has purchased an untitled pitch from William and Scott Bindley, which has Russell Brand attached to star. Brand will portray an eccentric soccer superstar who gets arrested in football-happy West Texas. The judge sentences him to a unique form of community service: he has to coach the pathetic high school soccer team…Lame!
Our boy Colin Firth is always snagging roles these days and even has an Academy Award nomination this year. Now he is teaming up with fellow Brit, Matthew McFayden in The Promised Land. The movie is a crime thriller set in British-ruled Palestine towards the end of World War II.
Now, this new is sort of weird to report only because I think...

BBC's Day of the Triffids mini-series might seem like old news to our UK readers, but a lot of us in region 1 land still haven't caught up with it, nor has the world seen a proper trailer - until now.
More good news is that if you've got a region free DVD player (like me, zing!) you can now buy the DVD and Blu-ray from amazon.co.uk.
Synopsis:
The world is struck blind by a solar storm, and millions of man-eating mobile plants are released to roam Britain.
As an expert on the Triffids, Bill Masen knows that salvation rests in the hands of the father he hates, who mutated the Triffids in the first place to produce a green source of oil that the world craves.
Those of you who can watch the first footage be sure to fill us in on what it's looking like. For the rest of you,...

Our boy Chuck is all grown up! On this week's episode of Chuck, "Chuck Versus Nacho Sampler," we opened with a flash to Chuck's first meeting with Sarah for a very good reason. It was time to see how much our hero has grown.
While Chuck certainly still had some bumbling idiot moments this episode, it was nice to see him juxtaposed with his nerd self of the past in the form of Manoosh (Fahim Anwar). Manoosh literally paralled some of Chuck's moves including declaring it the best day of his life when he met Sarah.
However, Chuck proves how much he's grown when he's able to successfully manipulate Manoosh into thinking their friends, therefore making him an asset, only to burn him. It's funny to see how much harder Chuck has become, while Sarah continues to become a big softie.
We suppose that's why the ended the...

A trailer has finally arrived for D. Kerry Prior's undead, horror-comedy, The Revenant. Our boy rochefort gave the film a glowing review form Fantastic Fest and after finally seeing some footage, I'm really looking forward to checking it out.
Synopsis:
The Revenant is a story about an ancient pestilence recurring to infect modern society.
Officer First Class Bart Gregory is killed while fighting in Middle East. His body is shipped back to the United States and laid to rest, but before the lid can be put on his tomb, Bart inexplicably awakens in his coffin and climbs from his grave; confused, horrified--a moldy, putrefying living corpse--a Revenant.
The Revenant stars David Anders, Senyo Amoaku and Cathy Shim.
Trailer after the break.

Our boy Alex over at First Showing debuted this bright, new poster for Wes Anderson’s animated feature, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’. While the trailer didn’t do a whole lot to amuse me, mainly due to the obviousness of its A-list voice cast, I’m still excited to see anything Anderson has in store for us. The poster is fine. It introduces the main cast of characters, something I’m sure we’ll be getting even more of in the character posters that are sure to come our way fairly soon.
‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ is set for release on November 13th.

LONDON -- Shed Media, the independent production house behind Supernanny, Fat March and Footballers' Wives continued its spending spree Thursday, saying it has acquired leading British rival Wall to Wall Prods. for 25 million pounds ($51.2 million).
Shed, which acquired Twenty Twenty Prods. for 19 million pounds ($39.1 million) in September and also owns Ricochet, said that Wall to Wall will be "an excellent fit" for its burgeoning U.K. and stateside business.
"Wall to Wall has some of the most successful television brands around, and Alex Graham, who joins the Shed board with immediate effect, will make a great contribution to growing the group," Shed CEO Eileen Gallagher said.
Added Graham: "What I like about Shed is that it understands that commercial success is built on long-running program brands, and I'm looking forward to playing my part in creating the next generation of hit Shed shows."
Wall to Wall is one of the U.K.'s most respected production companies, creating the hit genealogy show "Who Do You Think You Are?" as well as such factual hits as Frontier House and award-winning dramas including A Rather English Marriage and Our Boy.
Founder Alex Graham will reap 5.7 million pounds ($11.7 million) in shares as part of the deal
Shed said that pretax profits totaled 8.5 million pounds ($17.5 million) on revenue of 43.6 million pounds ($89.8 million) for the year through Aug.
