Dick Grayson isn’t just part of the Teen Titans. He’s leading the Teen Titans.Young Justice (2010)
Lately, we’ve been blessed with an overabundance of good comic news. First, 20th Century Fox releases dates for Deadpool 2, New Mutants, and Dark Phoenix. Now an interesting announcement from Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment.
Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment announced that they are launching a “digital streaming service” at an undisclosed time in 2018. They were obtuse on the details, but the gist is that this streaming service is an “immersive experience designed for the fans.” The service will host a live-action Teen Titans show called Titans and the third season of Young Justice: Outsiders.
Young Justice: Outsiders is the much demanded third season of the Cartoon Network show Young Justice. Young Justice was fantastic: it was spiritually faithful to its source material, beautifully animated, and well voice acted. Following...

THR is reporting that a Nightwing movie is in the works at Warner Bros, to add to the DC Extended Universe. Chris McKay, who most recently helmed The Lego Batman Movie, is set to direct the movie from a script by Bill Dubuque (The Accountant).

“Lego Batman” director Chris McKay is in talks to direct a standalone, live-action “Nightwing” film based on the DC Comics character for Warner Bros., TheWrap has learned. Bill Dubuque (“The Accountant”) is writing the script. Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, is best known for being the original Robin. Grayson was the youngest member of a family of acrobats known as the “Flying Graysons.” He was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and illustrator Jerry Robinson, and first introduced in Detective Comics #38 in April 1940. After his parents were murdered, he was taken in as the legal ward of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

From Bruce Wayne to Dick Grayson, THR is reporting that The Lego Batman Movie‘s Chris McKay has entered talks to helm a Nightwing spinoff.
Negotiations are officially underway and if a deal were to place, McKay will be directing from a script penned by Bill Dubuque (The Accountant). At this time, it’s unclear as to how exactly the Nightwing solo movie will fit into the DC Extended Universe. While the character of Robin – or rather his vandalized suit – was referenced in last year’s Batman V Superman, and though Zack Snyder was notoriously coy about the character’s identity throughout development, it was later confirmed to be Jason Todd.
Richard John “Dick” Grayson represents a different proposition altogether. Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Nightwing was first introduced as a trusty new sidekick to Gotham’s Caped Crusader, before shedding the Robin mantle to become the city’s elusive Nightwing.

With the glut of amazing content to consume out there these days, it takes a lot for fan films to get my attention. It takes even more for a trailer for a fan film to truly pique my interest. John Fiorella's excellent Grayson managed to do that years ago, and now it's happening again with Slice of Life, a fan film set in the world of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner that looks incredibly professional and downright eerie with how closely it managed to capture some of the aspects of that cinematic world. io9 says that director Luka Hrgović and his team are looking to Kickstarter to raise the funds to complete the full 20-25 minute short film, so all we have for now is this trailer. But man, what a cool trailer. Check it out, and head to their official site for more info.

"It's not the pole I was hoping for tonight, but it'll do."
This week's episode of Reven8e was light on real plot development, perhaps in anticipation of next week's "Game-changing Episode!"
But we do learn that Frank is not to be trifled with, and Tyler has gone from a vague nuisance to classic soap opera crazy.
Nolan barges in on Emily after her night of bliss with Daniel and informs her that Lydia is in a coma after being pushed off her balcony by Frank.
Wait a minute ... Lydia is still alive after taking a five-story plunge off a building and nearly pancaking a taxi? I guess those shock-absorbing ass implants really work.
Emily decides to send the hidden-cam footage to the Graysons, to put all suspicions on Frank. It works, and when Conrad sees the depths that Frank is willing to go, he decides to buy him off...

In addition to the three-city tour of Texas, the show will now kick off with a record 29 finalists who will vie for a chef's coat. After narrowing them down in the premiere, a chosen 16 will get the coveted title of "chef'testant."
Competition will take the series to Austin, Dallas and San Antonio, where scheduled guest judges include Charlize Theron, Pee-wee Herman, Cat Cora, John Besh, Tim Love and Patti Labelle.
Previously reported additions to the judging table Emeril Lagasse and Hugh Acheson will join returning host Padma Lakshmi, head judge Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons. People have been buzzing about the possibility, and then the reality, of Top Chef Texas, for months. Now, finally, Bravo has released serious details about the ninth season of the chef competition. The show will premiere November 2nd, at 10 pm, just in time for National Deviled Egg Day. And Zagat Buzz is reporting that Top Chef Texas guest stars will include Charlize Theron, Pee-wee Herman, Cat Cora, John Besh, Tim Love and Patti Labelle, a distinctly motley crew.
But most importantly, Bravo has released all the names and restaurant affiliations of the season's contestants. It's heavy on chefs from New York, La, Chicago and Seattle. There are even two cooks from one pioneering Windy City eatery, Moto. (Funny coincidence or an ingenious casting director strategy to drum up drama? Despite the Texan setting, there are only two chefs from the Lone Star State, and just a handful of contestants from other states in the South.

What's the appeal to amateur filmmakers to invest their manpower and money to make Batman fan films? Remember Batman: Dead End, the short film that Sandy Collora made back in 2003? Or what about John Fiorella's Grayson, the Robin wish-it-could-have-been trailer? If you thought that you had seen the best of what could be done with Batman on a microbudget, this brand new short may make you reevaluate your opinion. It doesn't even have the word "Batman" in its title.

A couple of clicks away on the web are scores of films made by fans – by turns hilarious, ingenious and ambitious. Lurking among their makers might be Hollywood's next generation.
Many still regard them as flatulent waste products of the socially deficient unemployed-layabout community. In most cases, they're pretty much right. But it looks increasingly likely that some of the amateur fan films that pervade YouTube and other online broadcasters will one day be cherished by movie-lovers as the formative works of the next generation of cutting-edge film-makers.
The idea of the fan film – an amateur, not-for-profit work inspired by a commercial movie, TV show or comic book – isn't new. Even before science fiction conventions in the 1970s began to provide sizeable audiences for homemade homages to much-loved sci-fi/fantasy franchises, teenage movie geeks such as Hugh Hefner and Batman fan Andy Warhol were finding their film-making feet making short...

After in development for only a month, this week The CW scrapped their plans for The Graysons, a series about Dick Grayson's pre-Robin days. Good. It's not like it's going to be as cool as this six-minute trailer for a non-existent Robin movie anyway. John Fiorella of Untamed Cinema wrote, directed, produced and starred in this award-winning short that became an internet and comic book convention sensation when it was released in 2004.
