Since January 2022, Jesse Palmer has fronted ABC’s lucrative “Bachelor” franchise as host of the flagship reality show as well as offshoots “The Bachelorette,” “Bachelor in Paradise” and the upcoming “The Golden Bachelor.” After taking the reins from Chris Harrison, who was ousted in 2021 after facing criticism for defending a contestant accused of racism, the former NFL quarterback and ESPN college football analyst has helped expand the show’s female-skewing audience to include more men.
“I have this theory that the dirty little secret in Bachelor Nation was that men were always watching anyway,” says Palmer. “They just never wanted to admit it.”
In fact, football is often on the brain for the former University of Florida standout, who will be showing his Gator pride Friday for College Colors Day, the faux holiday spawned by licensing leader Clc.

Valerie Bertinelli first became a household name in 1975 when she played Barbara Cooper on the CBS sitcom “One Day at a Time” for nine seasons. While Mackenzie Phillips as older sis Julie was the rebellious daughter in a household headed by Bonnie Franklin‘s divorced mom, Bertinelli’s upbeat character was more adept at making wisecracks. She would earn two Golden Globes as Best TV Supporting Actress but never competed for an Emmy. Even when she starred in a string of popular TV movies in the ’80s and ’90s with such ripe titles as “I Was a Mail Order Bride,” “The Seduction of Gina” and “Shattered Vows,” she was overlooked by TV’s top acting honor.
Bertinelli, 59, would spend three years starting in 2001 as a heavenly being named Gloria on “Touched by an Angel” and more recently appeared on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland” for five seasons until 2015 alongside of Betty White,...

Because we invite them into our homes, TV series regulars have a way of feeling like friends or even family. That is certainly true of the gang from “One Day at a Time,” the Norman Lear-created comedy series that aired on CBS from 1975 to 1984. Bonnie Franklin, who played a divorced mom and career woman who was raising her two daughters solo, and Mackenzie Phillips, who was the defiant older teen Julie, were highly relatable. But it was Valerie Bertinelli, as quick-with-a-quip little sis Barbara, who became America’s sitcom sweetheart.
She would win two Golden Globes for as Best TV Supporting Actress for her role as Barbara Cooper. But even though the actress would go on to headline a series of popular made-for-tv movies in the ’80s and ’90s with such attention-grabbing titles as “The Princess and the Cabbie” and “The Seduction of Gina” before becoming a heavenly creature...

Duff Goldman is adding another course to his ever-expanding menu with a fifth — yes, fifth – Food Network show, “Duff Takes the Cake.”
The five-episode, half-hour series joins four other Duff-hosted shows including “Spring Baking Championship,” in which 10 bakers face a panel of judges, and “Buddy vs Duff,” where Goldman faces off against “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro. Goldman is also a co-host on “Kids Baking Championship,” which just wrapped its latest season on Sunday, and “Holiday Baking Championship,” which airs every winter-holiday season.
Adding a fifth series puts Goldman up there with Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri in the league of Food Network hosts with the most shows airing in a single year.

New York — There's no business like small business.
Mix the high stakes of running a small business with a dash of family drama and throw in a camera crew and you get hit reality television shows such as "Pawn Stars," "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" and "Duck Dynasty."
Turning small business owners into stars has become a winning formula for television producers, but some businesses featured in them are cashing in, too. Sales explode after just a few episodes air, transforming these nearly unknown small businesses into household names. In addition to earning a salary from starring in the shows, some small business owners are benefiting financially from opening gift shops that sell souvenirs or getting involved in other ventures that spawn from their new-found fame.
Sales at Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas are five times higher than they were before "Pawn Stars" first aired in 2009. More people are pouring into the St.

Glee celebrated the wrap of its fourth season with a giant confection from Charm City Cakes West—that's the West Coast bakery of Ace of Cakes' Duff Goldman—all done in a fun theme derived right from the show's storyline. "The concept came to be after the show sent some images, and one of them included a row of slushie cups with cast members popping out of them," said the bake shop's Beverly Langran. "One of the designers came up with a giant slushie cup—and since Charm City Cakes has a history of creating oversized, food-related cakes, they rolled with that!" Rock candy served as the icy substance, and the TV school's...

Duff Goldman has offered to bake a free wedding cake for a lesbian couple who had been rejected by another cake company. Sweet Cakes Bakery in Oregon refused a same-sex couple when they went in to buy a wedding cake last month. The owner of the bakery, Aaron Klein, reportedly said they were "abominations unto the Lord."
Klein and his business are now under investigation because he has violated the Oregon Equality Act of 2007, which prohibits discrimination of sexual orientation. However, the couple need not shed tears over the incident since they might now be getting a wedding cake, for free, from Duff Goldman of Ace of Cakes fame.
"Two people who pledge to spend the rest of their lives today; that's cool," Goldman said. "It doesn't matter who they are."
There is no word yet if the couple is going to take Goldman up on his offer. ...

Talk about a sweet ending. Ace of Cakes baker Duff Goldman came to the rescue after another baker turned down a lesbian couple's request for a wedding cake a few weeks ago. The cake-baking aficionado reached out to the couple via Twitter Monday after seeing the betrothed duo's story on the Huffington Post; the site featured a local TV news story about an Oregon bakery owner turning the two women away because of his own religious beliefs. "They've made a choice to do what they're doing," owner Aaron Klein said in the NBC affiliate's clip. "I'm making a choice not to be a part of it." After reading about the story, Goldman tweeted the Huffington...

Sweet offer! A lesbian couple who were recently denied service because of their sexual orientation may get to have their cake and eat it too after all, thanks to Ace of Cakes baker Duff Goldman. The Baltimore-based celeb chef reached out via Twitter on Feb. 4 after seeing a story on Huffington Post about how Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery owner Aaron Klein reportedly refused the women's request for a wedding cake earlier this year. If you've seen any of Busy Philipps' film or television projects over the last decade and a half, you know she's a talented actress. But unless you follow her on Twitter, you might not know what a talented cake maker and seamstress she is.
Over the years, as she's amassed followers on Twitter and Instagram, Philipps has taken us inside her kitchen as she creates stunning cakes for daughter Birdie and recently revealed that she was equally qualified for a turn on Project Runway. I learned the second fact after ringing up the Cougar Town star to talk about the recently launched new season, and got a behind the seams look at her latest school project!
ETonline: Hey Busy, how's it going?
Busy Philipps: It's good. I'm in the middle of my own Project Runway challenge given to me by my daughter's preschool. All the parents have to make an outfit for their kids, for...

Washington -- President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama appeared at the first of two official inaugural balls on Monday night.
The Commander in Chief's Ball, which began at 6 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, honors service members and their families.
Speaking just before 9 p.m., Obama thanked servicemen and women from around the world before dancing with the first lady to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together," performed by Jennifer Hudson.
According to The Associated Press:Obama told them the biggest cheer he got during his inaugural speech to the crowd on the National Mall was when he spoke about – quote – "the extraordinary men and women in uniform" who are keeping the country strong.
He told them they should know that – quote – "You will be on our minds tonight and every single night until our mission in Afghanistan is completed." He promised them they would get the equipment and support they need.

If you've ever watched an episode of "Epic Meal Time," you know that good taste and portion control are not central themes. We'd be silly to expect anything different from the show's spinoff program, "Epic Chef," which pits actual chefs against one another in a gross battle of unconscionable proportions.
The series' first episode, a breakfast challenge, features celebrity chef David J. Alvarez and the winner of "Top Chef" season two, Ilan Hall. But "Epic Meal Time" host Harley Morenstein clearly isn't impressed by accolades. "That doesn't mean shit here," he says in the intro.
In classic "Epic Meal Time" fashion, the ingredients are less than refined. There's "sushi-grade lard," huge handles of rum, various breakfast meats and an entire suitcase -- yes, a suitcase -- filled with bacon.
Morenstein provides a commentary throughout that would make Alton Brown blush, spouting such gems as, "David's making sex for your mouth,...

The already-adorable Garner-Affleck family just keeps getting cuter -- Mom, Dad and the girls just shared a very sweet date!Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck and daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3, hit up Duff's Cakemix in Los Angeles on Sunday, where they had some fun decorating mini cakes! The store -- owned by "Ace of Cakes" star Duff Goldman -- provides the confection and all the decorating supplies you could want, and the little girls went to town making pink and yellow creations covered with hearts and stars. Judging by the remnants on Seraphina's face, she definitely enjoyed the yellow frosting! Ben also put his decorating skills to the test, not forgetting to take time to kiss his wife of 7 years. So cute! (We know little Samuel, 8 months, is too young to join in the fun, but we wish he was there just to complete the adorable family photos.)Click "Launch...

The big 6-0 is a number that scares many people, but not Sharon Osbourne, whose milestone birthday was celebrated in an episode of The Talk that will air on Tuesday, Oct. 9. "With every age there's a down and a plus. You get wisdom, you get inner strength, you get empowered. I'm 60 and I'm healthy and I'm happy and I'm not going to waste it worrying," Osbourne told People after taping the show. As a cancer survivor, Osbourne also confesses, "I never thought I'd get here, let alone everything else. My life now is a bonus, really." For the episode, the...

Duff Goldman spent several weeks traveling across America, eating lots of sweet treats for his show, Sugar High. With all the cookies, pies, bread pudding and donuts he was eating, the Ace of Cakes gained 30 pounds.
"I was literally eating dessert all day, every day, for seven weeks straight. I was doing nothing but traveling and eating crap," Goldman said. "Nonstop eating garbage over and over and over and over for the camera. And there are ways to do that, to make sure the camera gets the shot you need. But my problem is: I would eat when the cameras were off, too. It was what I love most in the world. Butter and sugar and fat and pork."
Goldman has since lost more than the 30 pounds he gained on Sugar High, thanks to his new diet and workout regimen.
"This is a journey that I've only been on for a little while.

Uggie, the loveable canine star of this year’s Oscar-winning film The Artist, added one more honor to his collar on Monday morning when his paws were immortalized in cement outside of Hollywood’s Grauman’s Chinese Theater. The iconic landmark, which also showcases the prints of some of Hollywood’s biggest names, past and present, including Marilyn Monroe, Jimmy Stewart, and George Clooney, never included a dog until Uggie — not Lassie, Strongheart, or even Rin Tin Tin (although they each have stars on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame). Perhaps that’s why Hollywood pulled out all the stops to honor the pooch, starting with a dramatic arrival on board a siren-blaring fire engine, followed by his own red carpet lined with adoring fans and throngs of flashing camera lights, and concluding with a special “retirement” party that was...

The Ace of Cakes himself, Duff Goldman, has opened a new cake decorating shop in Los Angeles called Cakemix. But Cakemix isn't your typical bakery. Goldman is inviting customers to choose from an assortment of cakes that they can then decorate themselves.
Cakemix is stocked with buttercream frosting, fondant, sprinkles and even an edible spray booth.
"This is something that's different and fun and cool," Goldman said. "For the cost of movie tickets and popcorn and a soda you can hang out and do a cake with your kids."...

There are currently two major entertainment destinations especially made for individuals looking to consume food-oriented programming. Food Network and Cooking Channel (and that doesn’t include Bravo, which you kinda sorta should include because Top Chef has won a few Emmys, but also kinda sorta shouldn’t include because it airs things like Shahs of Sunset). Ben Silverman just created a third. The founder and CEO of next generation multimedia studio Electus (and former co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and ex-ceo of Reveille) today announced the initial talent and programming line-up for Hungry, its gastro-centric YouTube channel (which is part of the video-sharing site’s $100 million Originals Initiative) led by individuals with serious experience in show business and the kitchen. Hungry is helmed by CEO Bruce Siedel (who Silverman and company poached earlier this year from his Senior Vice President of Programming and Special Productions position at Food Network and Cooking Channel,...

Duff Goldman, owner of Charm City Cakes (now in L.A.) and star of Food Network's Ace of Cakes, made a shocking admission on Saturday's episode of Good Food. The reality star told host Evan Kleiman: He hates fondant.
The man who built an empire on the stuff flat-out says, "I hate fondant. I don't like eating it." Apparently, neither should you. It's not meant to be eaten. It's meant to be peeled off the cake, according to Goldman.

Who: Elizabeth Falkner: San Francisco celebrity chef, Citizen Cake and Orson founder and "The Next Iron Chef" runner-up.
Years in Sf: 25 years
Current Gig: Falkner became "The Next Iron Chef" runner-up on Sunday night, focusing the spotlight squarely on San Francisco. But with the sudden closure of both of her restaurants -- Citizen Cake and Orson -- the local dining scene is wondering what's next for our culinary star.
Elizabeth, on Sunday, you competed in the finale of "The Next Iron Chef," with Geoffrey Zakarian taking the prize. What's it like competing on a show like that? It's totally fun, but it's insane at the same time. It's a completely different environment than working in a restaurant. In the kitchen, if one of your chefs is going down in flames, you're not going to let them just burn up in the corner -- you're going to help them get it together.

I only knew of Nadia G and her Cooking Channel show, The Bitchin’ Kitchen, in theory. So when I pressed play on this Bitchin’ Christmas music video — featuring What Not to Hair’s Guy Fieri, Ace of Cakes’ Duff Goldman, Travel Channel’s Andrew Zimmern, and Nadia’s fellow Cooking Channel stars Kelsey Nixon, Ben Sargent, Alie & Georgia, Vegan Black Metal Chef and the guys from Epic Meal Time (and it was made for charity!) — I had no idea the creature writhing around in a shiny red unitard and ’80s hair/makeup was the actual host of a cooking program.

With Halloween around the corner, former 'Ace of Cakes' and current 'Sugar High' star Duff Goldman stopped by 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) to bake some spooky goodies. Working with Sharon Osbourne and guest-host Wayne Brady, Goldman demonstrated how to ice cupcakes to look like ghosts and brains.
For his cake-de-gras, Goldman unveiled a creation he'd baked to look like Ozzy Osbourne's severed zombie head. While Sharon was wowed, we were somewhat disappointed Ozzy's cake likeness wasn't munching on a bat.

I have no idea if someone had a big fat gay intervention with Ryan Murphy or he just saw the light on his own or what exactly happened over the summer, but hello, Gleeks, our show is back!
I wasn't even one of those who hated on Season Two. It had some of my favorite episodes. It had Brittana. It had Kurt and Blaine kissing. It had Santana breaking down at her locker, telling Brittany she loved her. It just didn't have consistent character development, continuity, or good plot-based excuses for all those iTunes songs.
Season Three, however and at least so far, has all those things. And last night's episode, "Asian F," also has roof-blowing-off performances by Harry Shum Jr. and Heather Morris, along with one of the best musical ensemble numbers I've ever seen on the series.
"Asian F" opens with Mercedes running into booty camp, late again.
