Aaron Lewis, the lead singer of Staind, flubbed a line of the National Anthem before Game 5 of the World Series, and has apologized on social media, asking “for the Nation’s forgiveness.”
Aaron Lewis Flubs Lyrics To National Anthem
Lewis took to the At&T Park field Sunday night to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and he was barely two lines in before mixing up the lyrics. Lewis sang “What so proudly we hailed were so gallantly streaming” instead of “at the twilight’s last gleaming.”
While the flub itself wasn’t so bad, the cut-away to Giants player Tim Lincecum following the mishap made it all the more memorable, and Twitter was less than forgiving.
Aaron Lewis messed up the national anthem? Same dude who released a country album full of songs about how much more American he is than us?

Cameron Diaz has been hard to miss ever since her break-out role, twenty years ago, in "The Mask."
Since then, Diaz has starred in both dramatic and comedic hits, such as "Gangs of New York" (2002) and "There's Something About Mary" (1998), and cemented herself as one of Hollywood's top leading ladies. Her versatility has helped her remain on the A-list so many years later, and, this summer, you can find her in "The Other Woman" and "Sex Tape."
From her early work for Coca-Cola to her weird connection to Snoop Dogg, here are 23 things you probably don't know about Cameron Diaz.
1. Diaz was born in San Diego, California to Billie Joann, an import-export agent, and Emilio Luis Diaz, a field gauger for an oil company.
2. She has Anglo-German and Cherokee ancestry on her mother's side, while she has Cuban ancestry on her father's side.
3. Diaz is proud of her Latin roots...

Queen Latifah opened the Super Bowl with a powerful performance of ‘America The Beautiful’ that moved the audience at the MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
Queen Latifah kicked off the Super Bowl Xlviii festivities with a truly moving and powerful performance of “America The Beautiful” and looked great while doing it! Backed up by a choir wearing all-white, the overall effect of her performance was truly stunning.

Queen Latifah was a perfect choice to deliver “America The Beautiful.” She really seemed to take the job seriously and enjoyed herself at the same time; furthermore, the Broncos/Seahawks fans in the stands seemed to really take to her performance, as well! Everyone knows who the quarterback is. And rightly so. He's the leader of the offense, often the face of the franchise and the one the media tend to focus on (unless, of course, he's Aaron Hernandez or any of the slew of NFL players who ran into trouble with the law this offseason).
The breed of field general that frequents NFL playing fields these days throws for big yardage (11 topped 4,000 yards a year ago,) high completion rates (15 with more than 300 attempts connected on 60 percent or better of their passes in 2012) and a lot of touchdowns (five averaged two or more Td passes per game). And some, such as Robert Griffin III or Cam Newton, can run it, no matter the risk to their well-compensated bodies.
As ex-New York Giants quarterback and current CBS analyst Phil Simms tells Zap2it, "This is the steroid era for quarterbacks; the numbers are ridiculous.

We look back at the most infamous renditions of 'The Star-Spangled Banner.'

The Fray perform the national anthem before the 2012 Ncaa National Championship game
Photo: Getty Images
It seems odd that relaxed-khaki rockers the Fray would inspire acrimony of any sort (unless you hate "Grey's Anatomy"), but that's exactly what's happened following their performance of the national anthem at Monday night's Ncaa national championship basketball game.
To be honest, we didn't think it was that bad, but critics have been savaging the band for their jangly spin on "The Star-Spangled Banner," calling it everything from "dreadful" to "acoustic, emo and mercifully quick" ( two assessments that could equally have been applied to the actual championship game, now that we think of it).
And while they may not be fair, those criticisms automatically add the Fray to the rather lengthy list of truly terrible national anthem performances. From crotch-grabbing comediennes to winded,...

How will Adele sound in her first major live performance since undergoing surgery to repair a vocal cord hemorrhage? What color will Katy Perry"'s hair be? What will Lady Gaga" wear? We can't wait to find out. But if last year's show is any indication, it's safe to say that just about anything could happen at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday night.

Things might get a little awkward on the set of The Voice come Monday morning — especially if Kelly Clarkson bumps into Christina Aguilera at the craft services table.
Clarkson — inaugural American Idol champ, current pop superstar, and recently announced adviser to Voice judge Blake Shelton — just finished killing it delivering the National Anthem at Super Bowl Xlvi in Indianapolis. Voice mentor Aguilera, meanwhile, pretty much murdered “The Star Spangled Banner” (and not in a good way) with a botched lyric and a histrionic delivery a year ago (at Super Bowl Xlv).
But hey…let’s not dwell on the tawdry past.

We are all excited about Madonna's performance this Sunday, but Super Bowl halftime shows weren't always about popular recording artists. As the most-watched event in television history, it's hard to imagine the game without celebrities and pyrotechnics. The show has come a long way since college marching bands, so let's take a look at some of the great and most memorable Super Bowl halftime moments.
Super Bowl III: Florida A&M University:
Towards the end of the Civil rights movement, the 1969 halftime show was lead by the marching band of famed historically black college, Florida A&M University.
Super Bowl XVI: Up With the People:
Do you remember Up With the People? Well the NFL really liked this act! The international education organization featured a cast of about 100 students from 20 different countries. They performed at four different Super Bowls during the late 1970's and through the 80's.

What do Ben Roethlisberger's Super Bowl choke and "Two and a Half Men's" send-off to deceased cad Charlie Harper have in common? They were the most-TiVo'ed moments on television in 2011. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Roethlisberger's incomplete pass to Mike Wallace during Super Bowl Xlv was the year's most "time-shifted" television moment, according to DVR company TiVo's newly released annual report. Coming in second was the eulogy for Charlie Sheen's character on "Two and a Half Men" during the show's September season premiere. The Best Pictures Oscar win for "The King's Speech" at the...

Get into the (football) groove: Madonna has officially been announced as the featured performer for the Super Bowl Xlvi half-time show on Feb. 5 in Indianapolis. While it’s still a little too soon to place our bets on which teams will play in the big game (where’s Lisa Simpson when you need her?), that doesn’t mean we can’t start to guess, or at the very least make our wish list, for what the Material Girl will sing during the half-time show. (Early prediction: She probably won’t play “Material Girl.”)

Singers be warned: There is one song you are not allowed to mess up – "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Before this weekend's U.S. Open women's semi-final match between Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki in New York, Cyndi Lauper was tasked with singing the National Anthem and she didn't exactly do it justice. Wearing a short Statue of Liberty dress, Lauper started into the song following a moment of silence for the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and flubbed the lyrics. Instead of singing, "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming," Lauper sang, "O’er the ramparts, we watched as our flag was still streaming."
And people are not pleased about it. Twitter lit up soon afterward with none-too-kind comments for the eccentric singer, but she's far from the first to come under fire for botching "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Dancing With the Stars champion and NFL superstar Hines Ward was arrested in Georgia on Saturday morning. TMZ reports that the Super Bowl Xlv Mvp, Pittsburgh Steelers receiver and father who dazzled judges and won hearts with his hardscrabble stories of his school years, was taken in to custody by police in Dekalb County Georgia. According to the report, Ward was arrested in Dekalb County, Georgia, and held on $1,000 bond. He posted bond shortly after the arrest and was released. Ward grew up in Georgia, and often lamented in the DWTS B-roll that he was an outsider, never accepted by the Asian, Black or White kids because of his mixed race (Korean-African-American), until football in high school established a...

If given the choice between rocking out the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards or the Super Bowl, we're guessing most acts above the age of 15 would opt for the latter. For Fergie, Will.i.am and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas crew, they'll take what they can get at this point.
After butchering their shot at the 2011 Super Bowl halftime show with an ill-fated ode to Guns 'N Roses, the Black Eyed Peas stuck to their own material for Saturday's (Apr. 2) live broadcast of the KCAs. Performing "The Time (Dirty Bit)" and "Just Can't Get Enough" alongside overly animated host, Jack Black, the Peas put on a performance significantly better than their February flop.

After flubbing the National Anthem at Super Bowl Xlv and then sort of falling off the stage at the end of the Grammys tribute to Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilera had a pretty rough February. Now she's kicking off March with an arrest.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Xtina and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler were arrested early Tuesday (March 1). Aguilera had misdemeanor charges and was released on bail of $250. Rutler was not so fortunate. His bail was set at $30,000.
TMZ has more details, saying Xtina was popped for public intoxication, while Rutler was charged with Driving Under the Influence. Their source also says had Rutler not been pulled over for driving erratically, Aguilera would never have been in trouble, though she did appear "extremely intoxicated" and was "unable to take care of herself."
Rutler and Xtina met on the set of her recent movie "Burlesque," where he was a musician and production assistant.

Super Bowl Xlv is over. The Packers continue to celebrate their victory while the Steelers are left nursing their wounds and looking ahead to next season. But what about the rest of us? Well we'll do what we do every year and turn our attention to the other big game attraction. No, not the half time show and no, not Christina Aguilera's anthem singing antics. For the majority of us, it's all about the commercials.
The ads that garnered the most attention this year didn't belong to the usual suspects of Budweisers, Nikes, or Snickers. This time out the night's big winners were the major film studios and their TV spots. From Cowboys and Aliens to a world premiere look at Captain America: The First Avenger, the most highly anticipated blockbusters of 2011 gave rapt audiences a sneak peek at what's to come.

Days after his glow-in-the-dark Super Bowl Xlv halftime performance, will.i.am is already working on his next high-profile gig: a collaboration with Britney Spears. After the "Hold It Against Me" singer tweeted about the team-up Tuesday, the Black Eyed Peas' leading man opened up about his studio session with the pop princess.
"I just came from the studio right now," Will told The Associated Press. While hesitant to give away details, he did gush about the tune, emphasizing the song's place in today's music scene. "It's a monster," he said. "It's mean, pretty, edgy, next level. But the beat just ... It's that beat. She's singing fresh over it. It's something that today needs."

More presenters of the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards are announced. Miley Cyrus, Neil Patrick Harris and Paramore are the newest addition to the list along with John Legend, Kris Kristofferson and Seth Rogen. Kris, in particular, will introduce Barbra Streisand's performance.
They are on hand to read winners of the 2011 Grammy Awards at a live telecast to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Joining them as presenters are previously-announced Dierks Bentley, Selena Gomez, Norah Jones, LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Blake Shelton.
The musical guests include Justin Bieber, Lady Antebellum, Muse, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Drake, Cee-Lo, Gwyneth Paltrow and Eminem. Although the performers list has been crowded with A-list artists, the one(s) who will open the show remain under wraps.
Recent rumor suggested Christina Aguilera, who was recently slammed for flubbing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl Xlv, has been booked as the opening act.

Gossip Girl nobody star Jessica Szohr has apparently moved on from costar Ed Westwick straight into the ugly arms of Super Bowl Xlv Mvp Aaron Rodgers.
Downgrade! Sure, the guy's got money and won the Super Bowl, but really? He's kind of busted (and I mean that in the nicest way possible).
The 25-year-old actress and 27-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback have been spotted on several dates, but are keeping quiet about it.

Much ado has been made over Christina Aguilera's "Star Mangled Banner" at Super Bowl Xlv Sunday (Feb. 6) in Dallas. The singer issued a statement, saying she hoped the "true spirit" of the Anthem came through when she was performing.
Video has now emerged (via TMZ) that shows Xtina performing the National Anthem in rehearsal -- and nailing it. See, it's not a case of her not caring. It's probably what we've suspected all along -- that Christina got into the moment, lost her focus and flubbed the lyrics.
Big deal. She performed it beautifully. One of the best anthems we can remember in a long time. She wasn't being unpatriotic or disrespectful. She screwed up. Like all other Americans have done at one time or another. So maybe it's time to let her off the hook?...

The conversation about the Super Bowl continued through Monday (February 7) as people continued to talk about Christina Aguilera's national anthem performance, Aaron Rodgers' championship belt, the Black Eyed Peas' eye-popping halftime performance and this year's batch of high-profile commercials. The latter group inspired a particularly intense debate online, as no one spot seemed to be the "winner" this year (the way that the Betty White ad for Snickers did during last year's big game).
According to Tivo, the top-rated ad of the night was the reinvention of that same Snickers commercial, this time starring Richard Lewis and Roseanne Barr. Meanwhile, USA Today reported that the two highest-rated commercials both involved dogs (the Bud Light spot with the trained pooches and the Doritos ad with the pup who breaks down the door). And according to a poll hosted by the MTV Newsroom Blog, Eminem's two-minute tribute to Detroit...

The Sunday, February 6 broadcast of Super Bowl Xlv was the most-watched program in U.S. television history. Nielsen counted that 111 million viewers tuned in to the game between Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Its following program "Glee" unfortunately did not score as well as expected.
More detailed records noted that the game hit its peak between 9:30 P.M. and 10 P.M. Et with 117.2 million viewers. The audience dipped during the Black Eyed Peas' halftime performance at 110.2 million viewers from 8 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. At 111 million, Super Bowl Xlv beat last year's game which averaged 106 million people and the series finale of "M*A*S*H" which absorbed 106 million and held the record from 1983 to 2010.
The huge number however did not deliver a grand number for "Glee" which has to beat people's urge to sleep at 10.30 P.M. Around 26.8 million viewers were hooked up to the...

The stars love to lead stadiums with this powerful song, but some celebs prove there should be auditions for the gig!
Christina Aguilera may have forgotten the words to “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl Xlv, but she isn’t the first celebrity to mess up this sports stadium tradition. Check out four other stars who have blown it big in front of fans who did not appreciate the caterwauling.
Roseanne Barr — The gold standard for celebs trashing the National Anthem. Roseanne butchered this song at this 1990 San Diego Padres game, which set the crowd into a frenzy.

Hillary Clinton — This one is a little mean since she didn’t know her mic was on at her event, but Hilary messed up the words and sang so out of key that we have to poke some fun at her.

As the clock turns 4 p.m. this afternoon here on the East Coast, our guacamole-and-Bud-Light-induced hangover is finally receding from the beachhead it established in our frontal cortex early this morning, which means we’re just now starting to be able to look back at Super Bowl Xlv and parse out exactly what happened. Yes, Christina Aguilera flubbed the lyrics to the national anthem somethin’ fierce, Groupon decimated all of the goodwill they had built up thanks to one a tone deaf ad and the Black Eyed Peas turned in a lamentable halftime performance but, thankfully, those aren’t the kinds of moments that will haunt us in our sleep for all eternity. However, the same cannot be said for the ghastly three seconds of footage that Fox aired yesterday of Cameron Diaz feeding Alex Rodriguez popcorn.

Marlee Matlin has been where Christina Aguilera was on Super Bowl Sunday, literally if not figuratively.
The Oscar winner for "Children of a Lesser God" has done sign-language interpretations of "The Star Spangled Banner" twice at the NFL championship game, when Garth Brooks and Billy Joel sang the national anthem. Aguilera ran into some problems with the lyrics Sunday (Feb. 6) at Super Bowl Xlv, and Matlin admits she's content not to have been involved.
"It's a good thing I wasn't there," the deaf actress tells Zap2it through her longtime interpreter, Jack Jason. "If I were, and I had been signing with her, it would have been discombobulated. She doesn't sing the way most people sing. I know that song by heart, and there's a rhythm to it. If had done it with her, I would have been stumped, but that's Ok. Every singer has the right to mess up.

Best National Anthem PerformancesStar Spangled BannerWhen done right, the pre-game national anthem can energize a sports team and reawaken everyone's patriotic side. When done wrong, as some are saying of pop singer Christina Aguilera's version at Super Bowl 45 last night, all sorts of criticism can be expected. Christina Aguilera sang National Anthem at 2011 Super Bowl last night. Top selling popstar Christina Aguilera took to the 2011 Super Bowl Xlv stage last night to sing the coveted National Anthem. There are reports going around that she messed up one part of it,but who cares? The girl can sing, and she got most of it right from what I can tell. Hell, I forgot the words to the National Anthem years ago, lol!!! The singing beauty sported a nice, classy, black dress ensemble as she belted out the notes with her strong voice. She did a lot singing runs throughout the song, which could of been kept a little more to a minimum, but you can tell she really tried to put a lot of effort and soul into her rendition of the famous anthem song.

Sure, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers snagged the title of Most Valuable Player at Super Bowl Xlv. But to TV viewers, House star Hugh Laurie was far and away the night's TV Mvp.
Laurie and House easily scored the most promotional spots among all Fox series during Sunday night's big game. That's quite a coup for an aging series like House, now in its seventh year. But there's a reason why the acerbic doctor was tops (sorry, Fringe fans). House could use a little extra promo help, as the show's once-hot ratings have taken a beating this season ...

The folks at Fox Sports are done crunching the numbers, and Sunday’s broadcast of Super Bowl Xlv did indeed set a new record for “the big game.”
Glee in turn notched boffo numbers, though the musical dramedy didn’t perform nearly as well as its year-ago predecessor, CBS’s Undercover Boss.
Glee Super Bowl Episode Recap: Cannonball Fun
Based on final ratings data, Super Bowl Xlv, in which the Packers sent the Steelers packing, drew 111 million viewers. That easily tops the record set by last year’s Super Bowl, which averaged 106.5 million viewers. Sb Xlv now stands as the most-watched TV event in U.

Much has already been said about the Black Eyed Peas’ Super Bowl 45 Halftime Show, particularly on Twitter (with several of the comments bordering on almost negative), but to me, no one Tweet sums up the show quite like this one: Ahhh. Fits perfectly, doesn’t it? Like an old pair of hilarious compliment shoes, that have a vibrating ring in them to massage your feet even more because the Tweet is so accurate. Also, why don’t those shoes exist? For both actual-wearing and comparing to this Tweet purposes? Also, not to belabor the point, but here’s my honest question about the Black Eyed Peas’ performance: If all four Peas somehow died last night one hour before their performance (lightsuit short, or something), and the Super Bowl randomly grabbed four volunteers off the street, put them in Mission Impossible rubber masks so they look just like the band members,...

Whether you watched it for the $3 million ads, the halftime show, or the men in tight spandex pants shoving each other up and down a grassy field, Super Bowl Xlv was rich with memorable moments. Some got your geek pulse racing (Zomg guys, it's Red Skull!). Others were expensive lapses in judgment (tsk tsk, Groupon) or unfortunate brain farts (Xtina, we're looking at you.) It's notoriously one of the hardest songs to sing, and knowing that you're performing it for the biggest TV audience of the year can't help when it comes to nerves. Sometimes, just to be sure, singers pre-record the national anthem in case something goes wrong during the run-up to the kickoff of the Super Bowl. Well, that something happened on Sunday night when Christina Aguilera blew a few lines of the anthem on the football telecast.
Less than a minute into her rendition, Aguilera ran into some trouble. Instead of singing "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming" she improvised "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming." Ever the pro,...

Both ladies gave phenomenal performances though Christina did forget some of the words to the national anthem! Yikes!
Super Bowl Xlv got off to an amazing start in Dallas with two amazing performances from Lea Michele and Christina Aguilera! Lea took on “America the Beautiful” and sounded and looked sensational in a cream colored coat and slacks. Still, her voice is no match for Christina who belted out the national anthem phenomenally, but forgot four of the words! Oh no!
