The talk show host was promoting the launch of her SiriusXM channel, the Kelly Clarkson Connection, when she revealed Swift sent her tokens of her appreciation.
“You know what’s so funny? She just sent me flowers,” the television personality said. “She’s so nice. She did. She was like, ‘Every time I release something’ — ‘cause she just did 1989. I got that really cute cardigan, too.” Clarkson was responding to E!’s reporter referencing the ‘American Idol’ winner’s 2019 tweet suggesting that the ‘Shake It Off’ singer re-record her songs after Scooter Braun acquired Swift’s musical catalogue in a $300 million sale.

Perhaps the strongest contestant to perform during the two-hour premiere of “The Voice” Season 24 was Mara Justine, whose cover of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” received a four-chair-turn after only about 30 seconds (watch above). As coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani and John Legend all fought for Mara to join their teams, some viewers at home may have found themselves scratching their heads over how familiar the 21-year-old New Jersey girl looked. And for good reason: she previously appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and “American Idol.”
Back in the ninth season of “AGT” in 2014, Mara was only 11 years old but she still wowed judges Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Mel B and Heidi Klum with her booming voice. During that show’s live quarterfinals she took on “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry, an artist who coincidentally later judged Mara every week on “American Idol.”

The director of 1993’s enduring classic Fire in the Sky, Bloody Disgusting has learned that Robert Lieberman passed away at the age of 75 earlier this month after a battle with cancer.
Many horror fans consider Fire in the Sky to be the most terrifying alien abduction movie ever made, with one scene in particular being among the scariest in the genre’s history.
Released in theaters in 1993, Fire in the Sky was based on Travis Walton’s book The Walton Experience, which itself was based on Walton’s real-life tales of alien abduction.
In the film’s most harrowing scene, Walton (played by D.B. Sweeney) is experimented on by a group of aliens, first emerging from a slimy cocoon and then being subjected to various forms of extraterrestrial torture. It’s a sequence that once seen is never unseen, frequently popping up on lists of the scariest scenes in horror...

Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore studio album, “Guts,” is already looking like another big success for the pop starlet. It’s led by the single “Vampire,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 while earning acclaim from critics and audiences alike. “Guts” is slated for a September 8 release, meaning it would just qualify for this Grammy season. Coming off three Grammys for her “Sour” era, Rodrigo is already being touted as a possible winner in some categories for 2024, particularly in the pop field. But could Rodrigo beat what looks like an unbeatable album by Taylor Swift, “Midnights“?
SEEOlivia Rodrigo (‘Vampire’): Fans say ‘that girl has some balls’ as they react to her bold new single and video [Watch]
Obviously the album hasn’t come out yet, but if “Vampire” is any indication, “Guts” will likely have a similar sound to “Sour” but with a bit more maturity. This could be just what Rodrigo needs for the Grammys.

As if Pride Month couldn’t get any gayer, “And Just Like That” Season 2 and Kim Cattrall’s new Netflix series, “Glamorous,” are premiering on the same day, June 22. “Isn’t that incredible?” says Cattrall’s co-star, actor and musician Miss Benny. “That is the gay stuff that I love. I’m excited for our show. I’m excited for that show. I’m excited for the spectacle of it all.”
In “Glamorous,” Miss Benny plays Marco, a gender-nonconforming wannabe influencer who lands a job working for a beauty mogul (Cattrall). Miss Benny says Cattrall signed on to “Glamorous” after watching a clip of them playing a “sexual, raunchy and queer” character on “American Horror Stories.” “That blows my mind because I did that whole part saying, ‘What if I do it with a little bit of Samantha?’” they say. “I mimic her portrayal of Samantha a lot in my campier work.

Attention, Kelly Clarkson fans, this is not a drill! On March 26, the "Breakaway" singer announced that her long-awaited 10th studio album is coming out later this year, and it has a title, too. Clarkson revealed that her new album will be called "Chemistry" in an Instagram video, where she also spilled details on the inspiration behind her new songs.
"I've been working on this project for close to three years now. I wasn't sure I was going to release it, but I am. The album is called 'Chemistry,'" she said. "I was trying to find a word - it might be one of the songs on the album - that really described the whole thing. I didn't want everybody to think I was just coming out with some 'I'm angry' or 'I'm sad,' just those two emotions.

Wednesday night’s “The Masked Singer” was a three-way Battle Royale! After their rendition of “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson, California Roll was shockingly eliminated in third place behind. Macaw and Medusa will face off in the Season 9 finale next week. Panelists Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg weren’t fooled by the Grammy-winning quintet wearing sushi masks, but Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were both off the mark.
“People know us for our a cappella harmonies, but to do it and rearrange stuff with instruments was a really fun opportunity to do something we’ve never done before,” the group told host Nick Cannon during their unmasked interview. “Our strategy was to be as creative as possible and take a song and totally flip it so you would hear it in a way you’ve never heard it before. And then just sing in perfect harmony I guess!”

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9, episode 13 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired May 10 on Fox.
Pentatonix is pretty easy to recognize, as perhaps the best-known a cappella group performing today. So from the start, it was pretty easy to tell it was them on “The Masked Singer” – and indeed, the five-person group was unmasked as California Roll on Thursday’s show, which also doubled as the Season 9 semifinals.
For their first song, “Paparazzi,” group member Scott Hoying said they tried to avoid doing any harmonies at first, “so we could hide the iconic Pentatonix harmony sound for at least a minute. For the first minute, I was trying to really change my voice. But it didn’t work, because every comment on every video was like, ‘I knew from the beginning it was Pentatonix and I was confirmed as soon as they all came in.

The semifinals have come and gone on “The Masked Singer” and sadly, California Roll did not make it to the final two slots. Still, they’re pretty pleased with their run, even if fans knew who they were almost immediately. In fact, it was actually “a compliment” to them that that was the case.
Wednesday night’s episode saw Macaw, Medusa and California Roll face off for a trip to the finals, with the giant sushi characters first performing Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway.” Then, in the night’s battle royale, they performed Bruno Mars’ “Runaway Baby” with the other contestants. But, in the end, California Roll was unmasked, and revealed to be… Pentatonix.
Of course, judges Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy knew that, having guessed correctly well prior to their reveal. The same can be said for fans, who picked up on Scott Hoying’s vocals in particular. And admittedly,...

On the “American Idol” finale on Sunday, Laine Hardy pulled off an upset over Alejandro Aranda, who had been the frontrunner all season long. In our overnight poll, almost half of viewers (48%) weighing in wanted Alejandro to win and think that he was robbed of the season 17 title. Indeed, he got more votes than Laine, who has 41% of the total tally as of this writing. The third place finisher, Madison VanDenburg, merited 11%.
What do you think? Did Laine deserve to win? Or did you want Alejandro to take the title. Even though he lost on May 19, this singer/songwriter could end up the big winner. His talents were showcased in the finale as he got the chance to sing four of his original songs, including “Out Loud.” He had first performed that tune at his audition in early March, which went viral.

His talents were showcased in the finale as he got the chance to sing four of his original songs, including “Out Loud.” He had first performed that tune at his audition in early March, which went viral.

Hey, "American Idol" fans. Happy Sunday! Tonight, May 19, 2019 was indeed the big night! Finale night! That's right, guys. This long season finally came to a freaking end tonight, and a winner was revealed. All Of the final three contestants: Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg performed two, new songs. They also took part in some artist collaborations. Tonight's Live finale lasted a freaking, full three hours. That's the first in its history. I guess ABC is a lot more generous with their airtime than Fox ever wanted to be. To kick off the show, Judge Lionel Richie, mentor Bobby Bones and a whole bunch of other people hit up the stage to sing, “Dancing on the Ceiling.” Eventually, the top ten Idol contestants returned to join Lionel on stage. After all of that, Laine Hardy hit the stage to sing his first song of the night, which was, "Home" by Marc Broussard.

After Seacrest announced that Laine had won this sophomore edition of the ABC version of “American Idol,” he performed his winner’s single, “Flame.” While that country flavored track sounds like a winner, Laine was not expected to take the title.
Alejandro had been the frontrunner all season long, ever since his audition video went viral back in early March. This singer/songwriter performed an original song, “Out Loud,” back then and had all three judges singing his praises. But in the end,...

Grammy nominations morning was disappointing for Swifties. Taylor Swift was snubbed in every category except Best Pop Album for “Reputation.” But she could still have a good night when awards are handed out on Sunday, February 10. If she prevails, she’ll join the list of the most awarded female solo artists of all time. And she would also join an exclusive club of repeat winners in the Best Pop Album category.
This award has been handed out 25 times. In 1968 it went to The Beatles for their classic “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” Then the category returned in 1995 and has been presented every year since. But in all that time only two artists have ever won it twice. Kelly Clarkson doubled up by winning for “Breakaway” (2006) and “Stronger” (2013). Then Adele went two-for-two by winning for “21” (2012) and “25” (2017).

Kelly Clarkson is an underdog for Best Pop Album at the Grammys this year. She’s nominated for “Meaning of Life,” her eighth studio album, but it’s her only nomination this year, so she ranks third in our predictions with odds of 5/1. However, she has surprised us before. In fact, she’s a two-time upset winner in this race, which ties her with Adele for the most victories in the category. With another victory she would stand alone as this award’s biggest champ.
Clarkson’s previous wins were surprising because both times she defeated albums that were up for Album of the Year — even though she never has been. In 2006 she won for her second album, “Breakaway,” when two of her opponents for Best Pop Album were also nominated in the top category: Paul McCartney (“Chaos and Creation in the Backyard”) and Gwen Stefani (“Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

Among the biggest surprises in the 2019 Grammy nominations were Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande being completely snubbed from the top four general field races, even with those categories expanded to eight nominees each. But it wasn’t all bad news for the fan-favorites. They’re both nominated in the pop field where they could get their revenge just like Ed Sheeran last year.
At the last Grammys, Sheeran was widely expected to win Record of the Year for his ubiquitous chart-topper “Shape of You,” and he seemed like a safe bet for an Album of the Year nom for “Divide,” but the recording academy locked him out of the general field. They did nominate him twice in pop categories, though, and he ended up winning them both: Best Pop Solo Performance for “Shape of You” and Best Pop Album for “Divide.”

In 1966, after six years of existence, the Canyon Cinema experimental film collective of San Francisco, California started its own cooperative distribution center, first listing films in the November ’66 issue of their News newsletter, in which they stated that they would be following in the footsteps of New York City’s Film-Makers’ Cooperative that had been distributing underground films since 1962.
This origin of the Canyon Cinema cooperative is covered in Scott MacDonald’s exhaustive history of the organization, in which he lays out the timeline of publication of the first two catalogs:

Dr. Cabbie, Salman Khan’s first international offering that has Vinay Virmani (Breakway, David) in the lead has opened to good reviews on its Canadian release, what with current IMDb rating as 8/10. While the film would be seeing phased release internationally, a good response amongst audience in the country where it belongs to, Canada, is a heartening sign indeed for Salman and Vinay who have come together for an outing that picks up a socially relevant subject (migration of well educated Indians to Canada and the hardships they suffer) while presenting it in an out and out entertaining manner.
This is what the prominent critics have to say about the film.
“Dr. Cabbie has an appealing protagonist, some snappy dialogue and fun characters. The film also manages to be lighthearted, amusing and occasionally heartwarming… provides a pleasingly comical cinematic ride.” – The Star

It all started with a cab ride, fittingly enough. That's where "Dr. Cabbie" star, producer and co-writer Vinay Virmani happened to meet a Toronto taxi driver who used to be a surgeon in his native India, giving the young actor the seed for the idea that would eventually become his follow-up to the 2011 hit "Breakaway."
Directed by Quebec filmmaker Jean-François Pouliot in his first English-language project, the film stars Virmani as Deepak, a recent Indian med-school grad who immigrates to Canada only to find out that his degree isn't recognized. Forced to get a job as a cabbie, but still looking to follow in his late father's footsteps and put his medical training to good use, Deepak begins running a mobile clinic out of the back of his taxi, quickly becoming something of local hero.

As they say, a start well made is a right indication of the destination. If the official trailer of Dr. Cabbie is any indication, the team is just on the right path to promise a good fun ride which is all set to be unveiled internationally this September. What also makes the film special is the fact that this is Salman Khan’s first international presentation, hence ensuring an all around visibility.
Though a teaser of the film was released a few weeks back, it is the full fledged official promo which conveys a lot more about what Dr. Cabbie has to offer. One can see that as a central protagonist (yet again after his debut international outing Breakaway (a.k.a. Speedy Singhs)), Vinay Virmani is in complete elements while displaying his boyish charm that made him noticeable in the acting world. As a youngster who gains a medical degree in India,...

Vinay Virmani has just landed in India for the promotion of David and he is already finding himself in the thick of things for other initiatives as well. One such event that he recently participated in was a camp that was held around self defense which had Mary Kom joining the proceedings. They were joined by Raj Kundra who brought them together on a common platform. Vinay, who had earlier debuted with the sport based flick Breakaway (Speedy Singhs in Hindi) was left amazed. "This is a great initiative. Self defense, and developing instincts to protect yourself, is an essential skill, not just for women but everyone. I hope this camp encourages women to organize amongst themselves and set up similar camps in their communities and schools. Enough is enough", he said forcefully. Raj Kundra added his thoughts as well. "Sfl boot camps have been launched for women's self defense.
