Exclusive: The Daily Wire is set to debut a third movie for free on YouTube. Indie comedy The Hyperions, starring Cary Elwes, will launch on March 10 for viewers in the U.S.
After its initial showing, the film will be available exclusively for Daily Wire members to stream on its website.
According to the conservative media company, their debut original, the action thriller Shut In, recently drew more than 500,000 viewers in its first 72 hours across YouTube and its own website. The popularity of that launch inspired a repeat of the model, the company has told us.
“The Hyperions is one of the most creative films I’ve seen,” said Daily Wire co-ceo Jeremy Boreing. “It’s an ingenious comedy you can enjoy with your family and friends. We have always wanted to give it the largest possible audience and can’t wait to premiere it next week on YouTube for movie fans and our members.

The first of the month is typically when the variety of streaming services on offer bolster their respective libraries with a mixture of original and pre-existing content, freshening things up for subscribers in the process. January 1st also happens to be the first day of 2021, though, so people might be expecting a little more than just a handful of new additions, and HBO Max are stepping up to the plate in a big way.
Of course, Wonder Woman 1984 is set to entice millions to sign up for Warner Bros.’ platform, especially when the entire slate of theatrical releases are also heading to the streaming site on the same day that they hit the big screen. And keen to capitalize on the inevitable influx of new customers, HBO Max is adding a massive amount of film and television titles on January 1st, with the onslaught set to continue over the next 30 days.

Hubie Halloween, the next Adam Sandler-headlined Netflix film in fulfillment of the actor’s lucrative deal with the streaming giant, is imminently arriving on the streaming platform. Interestingly, the comedy not only provides vicarious celebration for a 2020 Halloween season likely to be squelched by the health crisis, but also showcases Sandler revisiting his character well of lovable imbeciles with quixotic missions, as teased in the first trailer
Appropriately set in the witchy hamlet of Salem, Massachusetts, the film centers on Sandler’s character, Hubie Dubois, a kind-but-eccentric local Halloween enthusiast, whose self-appointed role as a nebby safety patroller as earned him some derision. However, the threat of an escaped criminal and unexplained—seemingly supernatural—disappearances has turned this year’s fall holiday into an ordeal for the ever-vigilant Hubie, even in the face of incredulous authorities.
On that note, check out the Hubie Halloween trailer just below.

Randy Rogers Band chronicle a vacation breakup in “We Never Made It to Mexico,” Rhiannon Giddens reaches across generations and cultures in the gripping “Ten Thousand Voices” and Pink gets an assist from Chris Stapleton in “Love Me Anyway” in this week’s batch of must-hear songs.

The chorus may nod to Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” but “Unbreak You” takes the bulk of its cues from modern country radio, mixing the Davisson Brothers Band’s West Virginia twang with rocked-up grit and thickly stacked harmonies.

Religion plays a significant role in the lives of the characters on Game of Thrones. The people of the North largely worship the old gods, and the Iron Islanders devote themselves to the Drowned God. But by far, the most prevalent religion in Westeros is The Faith of the Seven. In the series, radical worshipers known as The Faith Militant force Cersei to take her infamous Walk of Shame before she destroys them all by blowing up the Sept of Baelor. However, for most people, worshiping the Seven is a way to bring comfort and order to their lives. Although the Seven is actually a single deity, it's one that has seven faces, each with their own defining attribute. They are The Father, The Mother, The Maiden, The Crone, The Warrior, The Smith, and The Stranger. Fan theories have long posited that there are correlating characters for each attribute.

Saturday Night Live‘s Leslie Jones has no shame when it comes to her Game of Thrones obsession, even to the point of forcing this week’s guest host Kit Harington to reenact Cersei’s famous walk. Apparently even Jones couldn’t convince Harington or NBC’s censors to go full-Cersei, though: Jon Snow is clothed in some sort of sackcloth long johns get-up for his Walk of Shame.
This week’s promo begins with Jones doing some makeshift, Diy Thrones re-creations with dolls, action figures and a dragon puppet. A none-too-pleased Harington, in oven mitts and a bad cape, storms out, only to suffer the consequences: The walk of shame, with Jones, in evil nun garb, tolling the bell and chanting the chant.

“Community’s” Yvette Nicole Brown and “The Middle’s” Alphonso McAuley have joined Ben Platt in Black Label Media’s “Love & Oatmeal.”
“Camp X-Ray” director Peter Sattler is helming the project, with Steve Waverly penning the script. Black Label Media’s Molly Smith, Rachel Smith, Thad Luckinbill, and Trent Luckinbill are producing, along with Trina Wyatt. Blm’s Jon Schumacher will executive produce.
The story centers on Scott, a 20-something aspiring writer who, in the wake of his father’s sudden death, sees his dream of moving to Paris put in jeopardy when he is forced to temporarily take in his wildly unpredictable, mentally ill sister. They are eyeing a start of production early summer.
Brown is best known for her starring role as the opinionated but sweet Shirley Bennett on NBC’s “Community.” She recently appeared on ABC’s “The Mayor” and currently has a recurring role on “Mom.

In terms of his horror trifecta of films—Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, and now Happy Death Day—I’m officially ready to start the Christopher Landon fan club. You couldn’t ask for three films to be more different from each other, and with every effort, Landon has proved himself to be a confident storyteller with a deep love of the genre in his work, and that affection has shone through with each of his cinematic endeavors.
With Happy Death Day, Landon serves up Groundhog Day (a connection the director hilariously addresses full-on in the film) with a slasher twist that may be intended for younger audiences, but this “old-timer” really enjoyed its unique approach to a modern murder mystery, and it’s easily the most “fun” studio horror movie set to hit theaters this October.

The wait is nearly over, Game of Thrones fans! In less than 9 days Game of Thrones Season 7 will be here and if I know anything, I know that we are in for the time of our lives. Yet before it’s time for the obligatory “Quiet in the Realm!” warning, let’s refresh our collective memories and take a quick look back at the previous 6 seasons. Come inside to refresh your memory!
If you’re a Game of Thrones fan like me then I know you are probably half way through a pre-season Game of Thrones seasons 1 through 6 binge watch. You’re busy catching up on seasons or episodes you’ve missed, or re-watching every single last episode of every single last season, dissecting it and looking for clues. You’re also probably nearly coming out of your skin impatiently anticipating the very long awaited seventh season to begin.

Elizabeth Banks was awarded the Women In Film Crystal Award on Tuesday for her work in the industry, including her involvement in franchises such as The Hunger Games and Pitch Perfect, and she did not waste her platform.
At the event, the producer/director/actress took the opportunity to call out director Steven Spielberg for his lack of female leads. “I went to Indiana Jones and Jaws and every movie Steven Spielberg ever made, and by the way, he’s never made a movie with a female lead. Sorry, Steven. I don’t mean to call your ass out, but it’s true.” While someone suggested The Color Purple, which starred Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey, that film was released in 1985. His other female-led films were 1974’s The Sugarland Express (Goldie Hawn) and 1989’s Always (starring...

In this week's roundup of movie news we've got some new posters (including one from the Marvel universe) and a few trailers that debuted over the past couple of days!
The first poster just dropped for Marvel's Black Panther! We must say, Chadwick Boseman looks bad-ass as the title character. Captain America: Civil War was the last time we saw him put on the suit and we'll have to wait until February 16th, 2018 to see it again.
T'Challa (Black Panther), the new ruler of the advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must defend his land from being torn apart by enemies from outside and inside the country. Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, and Forest Whitaker round out an all-star cast.

In today's daily movie news we've got a brand new trailer, a handful of fresh clips, and a bad-ass new poster coming your way!
Both the first poster and trailer dropped today for American Made! This one follows a pilot who lands work for the CIA as a drug runner in the south during the 1980s. The film reunites Tom Cruise with director Doug Liman who previously made Edge of Tomorrow with Cruise (a movie we Highly reccomend if you haven't seen it), so we know this one will have you on the edge of your seat. Think of Blow meeting The Wolf of Wall Street and you've got American Made.

MaryAnn’s quick take…
An entirely superfluous attempt to recapture the magic of the original film. A remake masquerading as a sequel that goes nowhere and has nothing new to say. I’m “biast” (pro): liked the first film…
I’m “biast” (con): …but found footage is over
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Gather round, kiddies, and hear the tale of The Blair Witch Project. Oh, not the story in the film but the story of the film.
Way back in the 20th century — 1999, to be precise — a couple of indie filmmakers called Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez came up with the truly brilliant idea to make a movie on an ultra-low budget by giving cameras to three actors and setting them loose in the Maryland woods to improvise a “documentary” around an invented backstory about a search for the “true” story of a legendary local witch.

In the ‘Game of Thrones,’ you live or you die. But based on what the survivors look like in Season 6 of the HBO adaptation, maybe those who die are the true winners. When Game of Thrones went dark last year, pretty much no one was in a happy place. A quick recap: Dany may have escaped certain death in the pit, but Drogon isn’t exactly cooperating and good money says those Dothraki aren’t friendly. Tyrion and Varys are in a sticky situation in Meereen. Cersei may have completed her Walk of Shame, but that doesn’t give her the power to the Throne. Jaime Lannister just watched his daughter die. Margaery was still imprisoned, with the rest of her family helpless to free her. Arya paid for her sins with her eyesight. Sansa is stuck with Theon in sub-zero temperatures, with miles and miles between Winterfell and safety.

Voting closed for Emmy nominations on Friday. Ordinarily, I would have already completed my usual If I Had An Emmy Ballot exercise by now, but various other projects got in the way, which means what I'm about to post is even more hypothetical than usual, since it's after the voting deadline. As always, I'm working with the choices listed on the actual Emmy ballots, which means I have to go along with where various shows and actors were categorized and submitted. So I have to consider "Orange Is the New Black" a drama, have to consider Key and Peele supporting actors on their own show, and can't go off the ballot to try nominating an actor like Max Greenfield from "New Girl," who didn't even put his name up for submission. Also, while I've done these as a bunch of separate posts the last few years, this thing's already so...

Game of Thrones star Lena Headey's 'Walk of Shame' nude body double has been revealed as actress Rebecca Van Cleave.
Headey opted out of going naked for the harrowing six-minute sequence "for several reasons", one of which was so she could fully focus on the emotions in her performance.
The actress also wasn't involved in the casting process for her double, adding: "I was like, 'Listen guys, she happens to have a beautiful body, but I don't do casting'. If somebody is brave enough to do this, I applaud it."

Success in Hollywood is a tricky game! Elizabeth Banks has enjoyed a super successful career as an actress and is now jumping behind the camera as she directs the highly anticipated a cappella sequel "Pitch Perfect 2". But getting there wasn't easy, as the 41-year-old admits that not every actress in her "age group" has been so lucky. "There was a group of us girls coming up. A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not," she explains in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn't all make it. We're not all still here. I do love 'Sharknado,'" she quickly added. Ironically, the two have a lot more in common than one would think.
