The trailer of ‘Chup’, directed by veteran ad filmmaker and director R. Balki, was released on Monday. A film centred around revenge killings, the needle of suspicion in it points to a filmmaker, who’s believed to have committed the murders after critics panned his movie while being generous to what he believes less-deserving films.
The serial killer thriller stars Dulquer Salmaan, fresh off his success in Sita Rama, who plays the film director, Pooja Bhatt, Sunny Deol and Shreya Dhanwanthary.
The film seems to come from a very personal space of Balki, whose some films have failed to impress the critics. He even went on to call out the critics in the past over their pretentious attitude towards movies with mainstream elements.
Talking about the germ of the idea, Balki said: “I had this idea for the story a long time ago and I don’t know why I...

Not unusually, 12-year-old me was surfing the channels on the TV till something grabbed my attention on Star One. It was his voice that caught me – he was setting the stage for an episode of a show called Mano Ya Na Mano (Believe it or not). From that day on, I would try to catch the reruns of the show every afternoon – I wasn’t allowed to watch TV too late at night,...

CBS’ Late Show With Stephen Colbert was back Monday and looking particularly animated after the Thanksgiving holiday. In a twist on the standard clip show – the second-best advancement in look-back evolution this season, following an October installment of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – Colbert appeared in cartoon form to introduce clips and, along with illustrated band leader Jon Batiste, segue into an audience Q&A bit.
Watch the videos above, and below.
Cartoon Colbert kicked things off by introducing “America: Epic Fall,” a best-of collection of Colbert jokes from this autumn. The political and culture highlights and lowlights were there, including Bob Woodward’s Fear, Brett Kavanaugh, the Caravan and Donald Trump’s faux pas-filled visit to North Carolina after Hurricane Florence.
“At least you got a nice boat out of the deal,” Trump said (for real) to a family who found a damaged flood-tossed vessel in their yard.

“Modern Family” co-creator Steve Levitan has renewed his criticism Fox News and its parent company amid backlash to the cable channel’s coverage following the mass shooting Saturday at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

The co-creator of ABC comedy “Modern Family,” Levitan has a longstanding relationship with Fox, which produces the series through studio 20th Century Fox Television.
