Like other future stars, Clint Eastwood gained considerable success in parts of Europe - courtesy of Sergio Leone and the trilogy of "Spaghetti Westerns." It was only after other actors declined the iconic role of Dirty Harry that Eastwood finally became a star in America. Since that time, he has had no reason to look back.
