Oh yeah, when an animated movie, like “Sing”, has five or more songs to it and uses the songs to advance the story the way Disney had used songs in their animated films, it is a musical. Also it helps that many of these were Broadway musical shows to which “Wicked” is about to make the leap from stage to screen. You can help select the music here. (Just remember the older ones get deleted if there is a newer musical. I mean it when had I said “Modern”.) No sequels. No concert films or music documentaries. No T.V. Movies. The characters have to sing the songs.
